We're not the best, but we're better than Spaam!

Well, here we go. Since we're not just going to allow Spaam to host the World Cup without competition and let's face it, there's bound to be at least one Atlantian Oceanian bid thread per World Cup, we present to you our WCXXXII bid from the nations of Geisenfried & Milchama!

If chosen, we're looking to invite 92 nations to compete, including the hosts, meaning we would just need seven more sign ups from the time of this posting to fill all the slots. The groups would be split into 15 groups of 6, with the top 2 advancing and no messy playoffs to worry about. We will also be putting time for friendlies in, as the smaller groups mean we can have times set aside for friendlies without overly lengthening the World Cup. The World Cup proper would be the standard 8-group 32 team format, with the top two of each going into the final 16, at which point it becomes a playoff system. Same as always.

To scorinate World Cup 32, we'll be using VSS, the same scorinator used in the previous WC, number 31. For more information about how the scorinator works, read the ViLC XXXI bid thread, where the scorination process is described in detail. Link here. (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=497489) This means that the World Cup will once again more heavily influenced by RPing.

RP bonus will be primarily quality based. Basically, one excellent RP will be given a higher bonus than three good RPs, but the fact that you went through the effort of posting 3 RPs won't fully be ignored. In this way, we hope to keep a balance between a person giving a lot of effort to just having the advantage of a lot of free time on their hands.

Any further questions can be asked in this thread. Comments are appreciated too.

We'll at least have matches at the beginning and in the middle of the qualifying stages, like in WC30, but it may be expanded at a later date. We're also planning something for the end of qualifying, but we're not revealing that yet.

Posted in both threads:

1. What are your plans for amount of host RP?

2. How will you deal with unexpected scenarios? As a specific example how would you plan on dealing with a team that withdraws during qualification? A mistake like the one that happened in the CoH? Other ideas you have to protect against screw ups?

1. Hm. I won't speak for Mil here, but I'll answer it concerning me. While I'll be honest and say I likely won't have something everyday, I'll do what I can to keep things interesting and I do have a few ideas to do that.

2. If they're unexpected scenarios, how exactly are we to plan for them? We're not expecting them, right? ;) But in all honesty, it depends on the situation. The situation of a person withdrawing or ceasing to exist will likely be treated differently than, say, someone withdrawing a puppet so as to get their main nation into the World Cup. As for preventing errors? If at all possible, avoid making them, but in the probable case that a mistake happens, we'll do what we can to rectify. It's the only thing we can do. We're human too.
