While the sign ups may not be huge we have 12 and you know what we don't want to wait (nor do we think you want to either). Therefore we start the RP thread for the first NS Quidditch World Cup

The format is 3 groups of 4 with the top 2 teams advancing from each group.
Each teams plays every other team twice.
Then after the group stage the two teams with the most points, regardless of group, will get bye through the first out round. (OOC: Think of the NFL playoffs if you don't understand what I'm talking about)

Roster stuff:
Regular quidditch rules which is 3 chasers, 2 beaters, 1 seeker, 1 keeper.

Also there is a style modifier. The lower the modifier the more your team depends on the seeker to get the snitch instead of going on an all out blitz to get the 160 point lead and win that way. Neither has a real effect on the seeker skill just the way you want your team to play. The modifier goes from +5 to -5.

Well sure there are suggested ways to play your players but since when have we followed obvious guidelines like that? The roster notable for its lack of a keeper and only using one beater and instead going with 5 chasers has caused some concern among people but Coach Leery has said that the team's best flyer is at chaser with a wonderful broom. Therefore should be able to cover the field just like 2 beaters. As for the keeper he seemed optional anyway, so why have him? With that being said we bring you the Milchama quidditch roster as coached by Nacham Leery:

The National Quidditch Team of The Pit of Voles had a few problems for its roster, namely an excess of seekers. However, here they are.

CHRISTIE STUART - her father has a nobility title.

Beaters:
HERON POTTER - wanted to be a seeker despite his 6'3" frame.
KASSIDY BARLOW - screams like a banshee when in a roll.


Chasers:
CECILIA DRAVEN - youngest of the team, but also the most confident.
SANDRA RIDDLE - her name is just a coincidence; was known as "Sandra Cruplud" until turning 18
KAYLA ALVAREZ - pronounced "al-ve-rez" as she likes to stress.

Seeker:
ROSE POTTER - claims to be related to the Boy Who Lived but everyone knows it's not true. Heron Potter is her brother.

The roster:

Since the HURDists are used to pseudonyms, they do not really see the point of using their original names in this competition.

Style: 0

Chasers:
Antispy: He is no Unixoid but a friend of react OS. He was (and still is) often ridiculed because of that.
nmap: He is a Linuxoid and a devout member of the Church of Emacs.
Jeunesse: She is a professional musician, who likes to play with these newly-coded brooms and was selected just because she knows their tech best.

Beaters:
fsck: it's called 'ef-ess-cee-kay'. He basically plans to fandango on the opponent's core.
puffy: A punk with yellow spiky hair, don't get cross with her or she might lose her temper, a bit paranoid and afraid of the Devil.

Keeper: susefirewall. Her Principles are easy: let nothing in. She looks like one of those people who are always chosen last in gym class but has amazing reflexes.

Seeker: grep, a Unixoid with a good pattern recognition and a swift flying 0.0.1 broom. Despite being Unixoid, grep has a tendency to crash due to the unstable broom.
