2nd TOUR de QAZOX Signups/RP/Results thread

Qazox
04-11-2006, 06:46
Sign up below with the following provisions:

1- Maximum of three riders per country.

2- Each rider will be graded in the following catergories:
Climbing (the higher the number, the better climber you are)
Sprint (the higher the number, the better in time-trials and finishes you are)
Speed (the higher the number, the better in the flat stages and overall time)
Endurance (the higher the number, the less likely to be injured or wear out on the longer stages)

3-Each rider will have 30 points to be placed in each of the 4 catergories, with a maximum of 10 allowed in each.

4- IF you are returning any riders from the 1st TOUR de QAZOX, you will be allowed to add ONE EXTRA point to any ONE CATERGORY. Please note that I do have the Ratings from the last one, so no cheating (i.e no 11 points for speed.) You will be allowed to re-allocate the points for returning riders as well if you want to.

examples:
RIDER A
Climbing- 10
Sprint- 4
Speed- 6
Endurance- 10
This type of racer will be one of the better riders in the mountains
and longer stages, but worse during the flat stages and time-trials.

RIDER B
Climbing-5
Sprint- 10
Speed- 10
Endurance- 5
This type of racer will be one of the weaker riders in the mountains
and the long stages, but great during the shorter stages and time-trials.

RIDER C
Climbing-8
Sprint- 7
Speed- 8
Endurance- 7

This racer will do well in most stages, but probably won't win any stages.

Unlike the RL events this will be sort-of based on (ie Tour de France/ Giro de Italia..etc) there will be no drug-testing of athletes, so if you want you best rider to be injected with HGH or EPO before every race go right ahead!!

There will be a Blue Jersey for the overall leader, a Green Jersey for the best sprinter and a Red Jersey for the best climber.

Signups will be taken until NOV. 11th at 12:01 am EST. (7 days)

Gl to all who sign up and see you in Cuidad De Iguana for the Prologue.
(ooc: On Monday i will post the Schedule and Route)

Team Qazox returns, looking to regain what was once only theirs. All three Riders from last year return, this time only looking to win.

Greg Johansen, 33 yrs old, Fromburg. Finished a rather dissapointing 11th place in last year's TOUR. Still a threat to win, but age has caught up with him.

Climbing- 7
Sprint- 7
Speed- 9
Endurance- 8

Alan O'Neill, 27 yrs old, Joehio. Finished 18th last year, doing great in the mountains, but faltering in the shorter stages. Has improved his speed a bit, but will it be enough to propel him to the top?

Climbing- 9
Sprint- 7
Speed- 7
Endurance- 8

Veronica Forrester, 29 Yrs old, Qazox City. Only female to compete in the TOUR last year, Veronica, who finished 24th overall, has improved her self overall, but still the mountains may prove her undoing.

Climbing- 4

I had three riders in the last Tour de Qazox. Do I have to use the same riders to get the 31 points or can I change riders? I have an idea that should hopefully make it more fun for me to RP which will hopefully lead to better RPs, but to do that I need to change my cyclists.

Only Riders from the 1st TOUR are allowed the 31 pts. if you change any riders they will only have the 30 points. you can change you "older" rider's t ratings in each catergory if you want.

Due to the lack of interest in having regular riders in the tour de Qazox this year the Az-cz team will be a team of circus performers. Coming from the Az-cz Three Ring Wonderland show are:

Ichi-Rin-Sha: Ichi-Rin-Sha is the unicyclist of the group. As riding a unicycle requires great concentration and stamina he is considered the endurance specialist.

Climbing: 5
Speed: 8
Sprint: 7
Endurance: 10

San-Rin-Sha: San-Rin-Sha rides a tricycle. The tricycle's extra wheel slows him down a bit but the extra traction and push really helps him as he's going up hills.

Climbing: 10
Speed: 6
Sprint: 4
Endurance: 10

Dai-Rin-Sha: Dai-Rin-Sha rides on a bicycle where the front wheel is many times larger than the back wheel. This provides for great speeds over short distances but makes him unstable and difficult to maintain said speeds. This also allows him to do many tricks.

Climbing: 7
Speed: 10
Sprint: 10

Team Pep-Co returns

Karl Gordon age 28
Gordon who was the runner up in last tour’s King of the Mountain and finished third in the overall results is back after doing a few changes in his strategy. As it was clear that he lost the tour because of his poor showings in the time trials, Gordon has made an effort to improve in that area though he feels his stamina has been lowered by this concentration on sprinting.
Climbing- 10
speed- 6
sprint-6
endurance- 9

Beau Jackson age 27
Recovered from his injury that kept him out of the Tour last time. Jackson is back and ready to make up for lost time. A good climber Jackson usually combines that with good time trials to make him a threat for the overall title. Jackson is a bit of an egoist so some wonder how he will function with Gordon who stands as the team leader based on last year’s showing.

speed-5
sprint-9
endurance-7

Hal Lester age 26 A speedster, Lester has decided to take things into his own hands after Tynelia’s poor showing in the sprinters category. Not very well suited for the longer stages he is a fairly decent climber for a sprinter.

Mikel Perurena

Climbing- 5
Sprint- 10
Speed- 5

Perurena is a very clever sprinter. He knows where to be in the end of the stages, even if his top-speed is not very high. He can win scores of stages if the rest of the team works as Cipollini's "Trenos". 2 stages in Tour de Qazox

Juan Carlos Aguilar:

Climbing - 8

Endurance - 7

A very regular and young cyclist. He is the alternative for general overall

Mikel Lejarreta:

One of the best of the world in flat stages. He behaves very well when the road goes up. 3 stages in Tour de Qazox. 5th in Overall Standings.

A stage that is longer than it seems due to rolling hills thoughout the stage.

Day 4 Stage 3: Lake Porter City to New Recife. Distance: 122 miles. Another longer than it seems stage, due to having course follow Lake Porter for first half of stage.

Day 5 Stage 4: New Recife to Yorkshire. Distance: 87 miles. A short stage that should allow for fast times.

Day 6 Stage 5: Individual Time Trial: Yorkshire to South Yorkshire. Distance: 39 miles. Fast riders will have a field day with this short time trial stage.

Day 7: REST DAY

Day 8 Stage 6: South Yorkshire to Pika City. Distance: 93 miles. Beginning of mountain stages, Climbing from 1500 ft at the start to 4200 at the end.

Day 9 Stage 7: Pika City to Fromburg. Distance: 137 miles. One of the toughest stages of the Tour as teams face 3 climbs of over 3,000 feet, along with a steep 2500 ft decline just before the finish at 10,500 ft.

Day 10 Stage 8: Fromburg to Gothika. Distance: 178 miles.A very challenging stage as riders finish the 1st part of the climbing stages. Three declines totaling 10,000 feet, with a 2,000 ft climb over The last 10 miles, will test the strength of all.

Day 11 Stage 9: Gothika to Bruxen. Distance: 99 miles. A welcome break from the last three stages, as teams begin to enter the lowlands.

Day 12 Stage 10: Bruxen to Rockport: Distance: 90.6 miles. The lowland stages end and the coastal ones begin with a ride through the scenic wine country of Bruxen. Small hills dominate the course, but none climb higher than 750 ft.

Day 13: REST DAY

Day 14: Stage 11: Rockport to Las Vitas. Distance: 110 miles. Early hills will slow the riders down, but not too much as last 60 miles are flat and fast.

Day 15: Stage 12: Las Vitas to St. Nash. Distance: 226 miles. The longest stage on of this year's TOUR. Expect many riders to falter during the hills near the end of this stage.

Day 16: Stage 13: Individual Time Trial: Saint Nash to Kibbutz. Distance: 54.8 miles. Short and fast stage on mostly flat terrain, with small hills at miles 34 and 48 rising up to 2000 ft.

Day 17: Stage 14: Kibbutz to San Guano. Distance: 98 miles. Last lowland stage as teams prepare to enter the 2nd part of the mountains. Starts at about 50 ft above sea level and ends at 2400 ft.

Day 18 Stage 15: San Guano to Monteverde. Distance: 100.7 miles. Begining of 2nd mountain stages as riders climb from 2400 ft to 11,900 ft at the finish line. Probably one of the most difficult stages.

Day 19 Stage 16: Monteverde to New Bruxen. Distance: 89.3 miles. Mountain stages continue with the most difficult stage. Starting at 11,900 ft, drop to 7400 ft duringthe first 60 milesand over the last climb back to 13,000 ft.

Day 20: Stage 17: New Bruxen to Joehio. Distance: 75 miles. The final mountain stage is the shortest, as riders decend Mt. Carlo. Easier than going up, which was done last year.

Day 21: TRAVEL DAY (Joehio to Vogg City)

Day 22: Stage 18: Team Time Trial: Vogg City to Chervan. Distance: 43 miles. This time trial could determine the overall winner, as it did in the 1895 and 1905 TOURS. A quick pace is needed due to the possibilty of rain as teams ride through the Voggoian Rain forest on the outskirts of Vogg City.

Day 23: Stage 19: Chervan to Qazox City: Distance: 82 miles. Final stage as riders travel from the town of Chrevan to Qazox City, finishing in Qazian Memorial Stadium after one lap around the stadium.

Well, not a bad start for the Green Wombatians at the 1915 Tour de Qazox. Ryan hill started slow, but finished well enough to finish under behing the leader from Az-Cz. Steele and Critten, who are better at the longer stages and the mountains did well for their international debut.

The next stage is from Cuidad de Iguana to Lexmark which is 103 miles. A fast stage, but the hills near the end should slow the speedsters down a bit. Our predcition for Stage winner: Zak K Speed of the mushroom kingship. He dominated these stages last year and show be a force to reckon with again this year.

Our predictions for the overall winner: Karl Gordon of Tynelia, came close last year, but with a better set of teammates, geared towards his style of racing he'll win it all.

And as for our Riders? Hill will finish 17th overall about 10 minutes back, Steele will finish 10th, about 7 minutes back, and Critten will crack the top 5 about 3 minutes back.

Team Pep-Co Starts Stronger

In their second attempt at the Tour de Qazox, Team Pep-Co has started out much more strongly that last yar's event. The main difference being the improved riding of last year's third place finisher Karl Gordon. Dedicating himself to be a bit stronger in the time trials Gordon's improvement is certainly noticable. Despite finishing 20th of the 31 riders some 59 seconds behind the stage winner Dai-Rin-Sha of Az-cz this is far better than the second to last finishes he collected usually finishing two minutes behind the stage winner. If he can keep this up and perform like he did last year in the mountains he could be a very serious threat again for the overall title.

The rest of the team also fared well to start. Beau Jackson, of the famed "Beau knows" commercials had the best result for team Pep-Co with a solid 8th place finish only :19 behind the leader. Jackson seeks to prove that he is the best cyclist in Tynelia after he missed last year's race due to injury. He could very well surprise some people before the end.

The team's last rider Hal Lester had a solid middle of the pack 14th place showing as he waits for the flat stages to make his run at the sprinters title. Despite losing a few points here Lester feels he can make it up in the longer stages.

As for the other main competitors, the defending champion Ricky Pointy Stick finished 27th 1:18 back. Some wonder if his time spent co-hosting the Soccer Life has hurt his training for this event. Last year's runner up Zak K Speed also had a slow start in the Prologue at 24th some 1:07 back giving Gordon the edge over the two cyclists who beat him last time. Not to be overlooked the Northern Caesarea duo of Mikel Lejarreta and Marino Indurain ((OOC- is this supposed to be Mikel Perurena? Perunena is listed as a returning rider but Indurain is the one listed in the returning cyclist chart below it?)) the 5th and 6th place finishers came in 25th and 4th with Indurain((/Perurena)) only 9 seconds out of first.

"HUZZAH! You can't stop the power of the big wheel. That run away speed is what's it's all about. Plus, because I sit up way up high on my bike I have a much better view of what everyone's doing." Dai-Rin-Sha exclaimed to his teamamates and the assembled media around as how to how he won the first stage.

"But aren't you worried what'll happen in a crash?" someone shouted from the crowd.

"Hells no. I'm the king of the road. I can eat those other cycles up with my big wheel. They don't stand a chance. Plus I can see the crashes coming and just monster truck my way up over the top. And anyways, we're all circus performers. So if there is a crash I'll just fly on over to someone who's not crashing and steal their bike and keep going. So to sum things up, no."

"Ichi-Rin-Sha, you were 11th today, how do you feel about that?" A reporter shouted out.

"Good. Unicycles aren't designed for racing. It's hard for me to take the aerodynamic lines and what not. But we're circus performers, it's our job to make the impossible possible."

The same reporter than shouted "San-Rin-Sha how bout you?"

"Well I'm the comic relief during sprint stages. That's why they dressed me up in these clown shoes and the funny nose and what not. Although Ricky Pointy Stick sure got mad when I sprayed him with my seltzer. And Zak K Speed wasn't too amused by my joy buzzer. Stupid sticks in the mud. Oh well. We'll have the last laugh."

Dai-Rin-Sha then shouted out again "Hooah. Well we'z gots to go. We still got our show to put on tonight. Don't forget, tonight we've got the lions and tigers in towns to start things off."

*******************

Ladies and Germs, Boys and Gruels, welcome to the only circus on the entire Tour De Qazox. We present you the cycling circus.

Look up in the sky. It's Ichi-Rin-Sha. Look at him ride his unicycle on a tightrope over a pit of tigers. One mismove and he'll plummet to a gruesome death.

Uh-oh, looks like he may be falling...... just kidding you folks. He's still fine look. He's pulling out the juggling balls. What skill. Let's see...... oh no he actually is falling.......

But what's that?

Oh it's San-Rin-Sha to save the day. Flying off his ramp and catching Ichi-Rin-Sha and his unicycle in mid air and flying over the pit of lions. What a fantastic move by San-Rin-Sha.

Now San-Rin-Sha's going into his comic routine. Look at those cute tiger and lion shaped balloons. Here's some of his cute jokes. And look at his giant clown shoes. Hilarious.

Now in the main ring is Dai-Rin-Sha. He's locked in semi-mortal combat with a bunch of tigers. He whacks them around with his one huge wheel. He speeds up the ramp, he's flying through the air. He's landed on a trampoline. He's off his bike and flying further in the air. He's going going. Wow he's caught a trapeeze. What a show.

With moves like that the real sideshow is the Tour De Qazox.

It was a good start for Cafundéu. Asano Pender reached in 7th and was near to score his first point, but couldn't make this wonderful result. But a 7th place is great, and the places of Andreas Leonels and Zé do Caixão Jr. were very good too.

13-11-2006, 18:16
Northern Caesarea Mikel Perurena is at only 9 seconds of the yellow jersey, after the prologue stage of the Tour de Qazox. "I knew that I had the legs to win the jersey, but I was too tired in the last kilometers to struggle for it", declared Perurena after his massage session.

The theoric team leader, Mikel Lejarreta, finished very far of the top positions. "I had some problems with a virus and that awful broken collarbone at the "Vuelta a Zamora". I hope that I will get again in shape in next stages. Until that, I will help Mikel to take the lead".

Young promise Juan Carlos Aguilar confirmed that he's still to young for a three-week competition. Some pundits say that the national team should have called in Induráin, instead.

Good day for Critten as he was just edged out by Zak K Speed of TMK for the Stage win earlier today. The 2nd place finish move Critten up from 30th to 12th. Steele finished in 11th place only 47 seconds backof Speed and Ryan Hill, slipped his chain with 5 miles left that caused him to finish a dissapointing 26th. History was made today however as Veronica Foster of Qazox became the 1st female rider in the tour's history to wear the Blue Jersey.

Up next is Stage two, from Lexmark to Lake Porter City. Distance: 138 miles. This stage is a bit longer, but still should favor the speedier riders. I'm going out on a limb here and predict that Lance Legstrong of Quakmybush will win the stage, but Ms. Foster will finish close enough to the top to retain the Blue jersey for at least one more day.

Ricky: Hey Vance, that Veronica Foster is leading!
Vance: Yeah, she's one fast girl indeed. Beaten me twice already - speaking of fast girls, you can't complain can you?
Ricky: Me? Complain about what?
Vance: Nice wife, worked with Rachel Kool and Dazza Dallas. You're one lucky guy.

Ricky: That's why I'm Ricky Pointy Stick! Man of the moment - with the girls.
Vance: Speaking of girls, here comes Rachel Kool.
Ricky: Hey, it's my favourite reporter.
Vance: Hi Rachel, here to annoy Ricky again?

Rachel: As always.
Padroso: Hi everyone. Sorry, I'm late - I got held up by Rachel here asking for an interview.
Rachel: Hey Ricky, who would you choose - Dazza or me?
Vance: That's an easy one Ricky.

Padroso: I like Dazza, yeah.
Ricky: Rachel, you of course - Dazza's a nice girl but I like more mature women like you.
Vance: That Veronica Foster interests me, but I'm married - and so is Ricky. Padroso - why don't you get know that Veronica. Qazox girls aren't Oxes you know.

Padroso: Err, no - I'd look like an idiot.
Vance: Learn from Rachel and Ricky, come on.
Ricky: Hey look you may not have the same fame as me and Vance Lumberjack, the sprinting man but it will not hurt.
Rachel: Me and Ricky will try to set something up!

Padroso: No, no - I'll find a date by myself.
Vance: You missed out on dating my sister man! She's dating a soccer player now.
Padroso: I'm patient
Ricky: Oh well, we try to help

Lester Stays Strong For Team Pep-Co

Hal Lester followed up his strong Prolouge with yet another solid effort in stage 1. His second strioght top ten finish, this time 9th some :32 behind the stage winner Zak K Speed from The Mushroom Kingdom, in his second tour has kept him among the overall leaders. After two days of racing lesetr is hanging around in 7th place tied with Speed only :55 behind the tour leader Veronica Foster from the home Qazox team. A result which must surely have the Oxen faithful mooing with joy.

The rest of team Pep-Co didn;t fare as well as their teammate with both racers finishing in the bottom third of the field. Karl Gordon finished a distant 24th 1:39 back of the stage winner. Beau Jackson did even worse finishing 27th nearly two minutes behind. these results have dropped both racers into the bottom third of the field. However it should be noted that last year Karl Gordon was also well behind in the early stages before making a run in the mountains then fading in the time trials near the end of the Tour. So his slow start is nothing to be worried about just yet.

In fact the defending champion Ricky Pointy Stick is also well behind to start. Holding onto 20th at the moment the defending champion is also expected to begin his move up the standings once the climbs begin.

Now the team is waiting the next stage to improve.

Good day for all of our riders as We take 2 spots in the top 6 in the stage and 2 spots in the top 5. Granted its still early, but Critten and Steele look in it for the long haul. Hill has yet to find his stride, but the mountains are where he'll make up time.

Veronica Foster still leads, but Zak K Speed is only 5 second back. The next
Stage is from Lake Porter City to New Recife, which is 122 miles. A bit easier than today's, but the winding roads could cause a spill or two.

Our Prediction for the winner of this stage: Zé do Caixão Jr. of Cafundéu, while Zak K Speed take the Blue jersey from Ms. Foster.

Padroso Fina is standing in the middle of crowd of girls after winning his first Tour de Qazox stage. Rachel Kool fights her to way Padroso.

Padroso: Hi Rachel.
Rachel: Where did these girls come from?

Padroso: No idea (keeps signing autographs)
Rachel: First ever stage win. Well done - how to do feel?

Padroso: Like a dream, winning by 7 seconds. You know - Vance Lumberjack and Ricky Pointy Stick have done this and now it's me. I'm so happy
Rachel: You realise you are ahead of Ricky?

Padroso: Really? I don't expect to win this Tour - I'm going help my team cross that line.
Rachel: What do think of that Veronica Foster?

Padroso: She could win this Tour, really.
Rachel: I'd better leave to your new fans

(girls scream)

Rachel:
Well, Padroso delivers for Jeruselem, winning by 7 seconds from San-Rin-Sha. Mr Sticky Ricky finished credible 11th less than a minute behind and Vance was well back in 26th, nearly 2 minutes behind. Padroso is in the top 10 while Ricky as usual starts slow - he's 20th. Vance is currently 8th but don't expect that to last when he hit the mountains where Ricky takes over and even Padroso might just get another stage win. Veronica Foster leads still with that man Zak K Speed on her tail. We have two Green Wombat riders in the top 5 too.

Good day today for Team Wombat as Critten and Steele almost won the 3rd Stage of the TOUR de Qazox, but Zak K Speed just edged them out, not only to win the stage, but to take the Blue Jersey as well. Critten is now in 2nd place, 24 seconds behind and Steele is in 5th, just 49 seconds back. Hill, continues to struggle, and reports say he has a pulled hamstring, but it should not be severe enough for him to withdraw from the race.

The Next stage is a short quick one, only 87 miles from New Recife to Yorkshire. Our best guess as to the winner of this stage? our own Johnnie Steele, but Zak K Speed wil finish close enough to also him to keep the Blue Jersey.

Ricky: Good - now we need a plan. That Zak K Speed is taking over proceedings and we didn't do enough. You're doing quite well, but I'm waiting for the mountains - Ricky the mountain man and you're the climber. But tomorrow - Vance's turn to kick some ass with his speed. We'll just try to keep up and maybe grab a top 10 spot.
Padroso: Yeah, those Wombat team are good.

Ricky: Between the Wombats, Zak K Speed and co and Qazox team - it's going be tough to all the way.
Padroso: You stay safe in the pack while me and Vance try to get the win next stage.

Ricky: I've got two minutes to recover but you are only over 1 minute off the leader. Don't worry about Vance being last - he's a sprinter. Let's hope we can claw back some time so we can get some kind of lead in the mountains.
Padroso: I hope so

Ricky: The girl's name is Sarah.
Padroso: Aren't redheads a little hot-tempered. Dazza's actually a brunette.

Ricky: Hey, don't worry about that.

Team Pep-Co Starting Slowly

As with the first year of team Pep-Co's Tour de Qazox this year finds all three members of the team in the bottom third of the field as the Tour starts out again with flat and fast stages, something the team is not well suited for. Hal Lester had a good stage 4 finishing 6th only 18 seconds back of the stage winner. The only real speedster on the squad it was not unusual to see him near the front of the pack. However it was not a good enough finish to pick up any points in the sprinters event.

His teammates Beau Jackson and Karl Gordon both did poorly in the fast stage as both failed to due much in the overall standings. Of the two Jackson is expected to try to make a big move in the first time trial of the Tour. This is his area of expertice and his finish in the next stage will be a huge factor in determining if Jackson will contend for the Blue jersey currently worn by Zak K Speed, the man who held it in the early stages of last year's race as well.

As far as Karl Gordon goes, while it is clear that any move he makes will come in the mountain stages tomorrow will be a good test for him as well. In last year's tour he was usually finishing well over 2 minutes behind the stage winner, something that could have very well cost him the Tour championship last year. This will be the first real test as to whether or not Gordon's extra training in the time trials will pay off enough to keep him close in the overall classification when the hills begin.

Lester takes 5th in Stage 4

Today Hal Lester finally got on the board for Team Pep-Co as he finished 5th in the day's individual time trial. This finish also gave him his first two points in the sprinters competition and brought him up to 15th overall. Beau Jackson also had a decent run with a 12th place finish though he was reportedly very disappointed with the way things have started off for him. The former Tour de Tynelia champion is still floundering near the bottom of the overall classifications, a situation unusual for Jackson.

Karl Gordon showed some improvment on his time trial run only losing 1:32 to the stage winner unlike his past disatsers which cost him over 2 minutes each time and no doubt the Blue jersey last year. Ironically though Gordon finds himself three seconds worse than he was last tour with more riders he must climb over to make a run this year than last as well.

On the plus side for the team, all three cyclists are within five minutes of the leader going into the mountains unlike last time where Jerry Conroy and john McRoy were both nearly six minutes back. Lester's 2:38 deficit is the smallest margin ever for team Pep-Co going into the mountains where its expected Jackson and especially Gordon plan to make up ground.

Huzzah. The big wheel of doom continues to roll it's opponents into the dust. Dai-Rin-Sha is very thankful that none of his opponents are dirty rotten cheats, because if they were they could just ram him over and knock him flying into the stands. Possibly even killing him. But thankfully no one has done that. And we'd really prefer no one does so. Who are we? The Az-cz circus comission. This is one of our rambling press releases. Everyone knows you have to be somewhat insane to join the circus. Or ride a tricycle in an international cycling competition. But the real point here is that Dai-Rin-Sha kicks ass. If you mess with him he'll just run you over with his big wheel like a monster truck.

As for the other two, pay no attention to them. Instead come see the circus. This week's special performance is all about ladies. We'll have sexy ladies, bearded ladies, trapeeze ladies, tight rope walking ladies, and even lady clowns. Plus of course the three cyclists and more cycling tricks. Maybe they'll even get ladies to help them with that. Who knows. You'll have to come down to see them perform during their shows. But lady week is a week for a reason. It's only 8 days long. Badabing. So get down and see them while you can.

Up next: Day 9 Stage 7: Pika City to Fromburg. Distance: 137 miles. Probably the toughest stage on the TOUR. 3 separate climbs and the length of the stage will wear down even the fittest riders. If any one wants to drop out, this is the stage that will make you do so.

Green wombat
21-11-2006, 06:54
Green Wombat's team continues to impress at the 1915 TOUR de QAZOX as they, after the 1st mountain stage, have the top 2 riders, and those two are only separated by 9 seconds. Johnnie Steele, who has the Blue Jersey, and Henry Critten have shown the world that they are among the best and about 1/4 of the way through, they are begining to dominate. Ryan Hill finished tied for 4th yesterday, earning him 3 points towards the King of the mountains, he also moved up from 27th to 23rd and only sits about 2 1/2 minutes behind his teammates.

Up next is the Stage affectionately called DEATH. 137 miles from Pika City to Fromburg is filled with long hard climbs and at 137 miles, is the longest mountain stage by far. Our riders thrive in the mountains, so there's a chance that in a couple of days we could be sitting 1-2-3 atop the leaderboard. Our predcition as to the winner of Stage 7? Ryan Hill, with Johnnie Steele still wearing the blue jersey.

Ricky: Team! We're doing great. Vance, as usual doing the job as fast man and Padroso - you are a much improved climber. Two stage wins. This is going to be good tour. No stage wins for me, but I never did to get one.

Vance: Yes, things are looking good Ricky. Three stage wins, not bad for 6 stages. I must say Padroso is showing them what climbing is all about.

Padroso: And I got a girlfriend!

Ricky: See, win something and there's chics chasing you. Both us are married so have fun while you're single Padroso.

Vance: Ricky's got too many kids - learn a lesson Padroso. Mind you, then girls like Kool and Dazza chic work with him. He's got something going.

Ricky: Right oh, team - enough about our sex lives. Let's see next stage. This one is the tough one. Well Vance, let me and Padroso handle this one as I think you might finish last or near last.

Padroso: I'm ready Ricky. Me and you are going to be Kings of the Mountain.

Vance: I hate stages like that ...

Ricky: We must watch that Zak K Speed fellow and the Veronica Foster chick, but Johnnie Steele and Henry Critten look deadly out there. Me and Padroso are in the top 5 meaning this time we could do better but those opponents will be tough.

Vance: Some good talent out there, especially the wombat and Qazox teams. Even the Mushroom Kingdom lead by Zak is a big threat.

Padroso: I'm making my mark now unlike last time when I was weak point. Not now, I'm ready rumble up the hill.

Ricky: I think a girly influence is giving Padroso here some confidence. Good man!

There are many advantages to being circus performers, one of which is that they can get help from their friends. At many points along the route there were people set up with music and bull horns. Clowns, and ring leaders, and lion tamers were all set up along the course route. Until San-Rin-Sha came riding by they would play "Flight of the Valkyries", I'm sure you know the song. Then after San-Rin-Sha came riding by they would shout at all the other cyclists, "YOU'RE LOSING TO A GUY ON A TRICYCLE!!!"

Of couse San-Rin-Sha raced a little to well and finished second on the day which meant that everyone but Padroso Fina got the treatment, and by the end of the day their voices were quite hoarse, so today's circus performance has been cancelled. Still San-Rin-Sha finished a whopping second. It looks like Az-cz is falling into the pattern they set last time. One great sprinter, one great climber and a bunch of crap at winning overall. But for a fleet of circus performers it's quite good. The rest of the tour ought to be ashamed of themselves.
Northern Caesarea
21-11-2006, 18:33
Pika City- TVCN, the public broadcasting corporation in Northern Caesarea, is going to stop the live broadcasting of the Tour de Qazox at prime time, because of the dissapointing performance of the team in Qazoxian roads.

Minister of Culture Trinidad Montaño said that "people are really not interested in seeing foregin cyclists winning every day. Our boys are always far of stage victories and even further of the yellow jersey. Cycling fans will be able to see the event in a recorded summary at 22h30. To see the Tour live, they can always pay a fee to watch "Teledeporte".

This news falled like a bomb at the Northern Caesaream team. Juan Carlos Aguilar thinks that "this whole stuff is unfair. We had hours and hours of boring World Cup matches and the "Tricolores didn't manage to win a match! For god's sake! We're only at stage 5 of 22. There is a lot of race in front of us and a lot of chances to make something great. We need the support of pur people!".

Up next: Day 10 Stage 8: Fromburg to Gothika. Distance: 178 miles. Tough stage as 1st part of mountains end. All downhill, with a rise or 2 in the middle of the stage. The last 10 miles are the toughest as riders travel through a tunnel for 3 of those miles (yes, the tunnel is more than adequately lighted, so no shouldn't be any crashes.)

(ooc: just to let you know in advance, there is no mistakes for the times you will see for Stage 8. you are going down hill, so it reasonalbe that it wouldn't take as much to go a further distance. TY)

Ricky: Hey, Padroso. Get away from those horny girls and get over here.

<later>

Padroso: Err, sorry got held up a little. So many fans to keep happy - not that way, Ricky.
Ricky: 3 stage wins - I can't manage one. Doing well and you're leading! I don't what you did to improve your climbing but it's worked.

Padroso: I'm number one?
Ricky: Yeah, following by two wombats, me and that San-Rin-Sha fellow. And then you have Zak K Speed, and those other riders from last year.

Padroso: I didn't expect to do so well, you mean I could steal your crown?
Ricky: Yes, but that's OK. As long as you or me win this one, OK?

Padroso: Sure thing, Ricky. I'm no Zak K Speed but I'm the mountain man!
Ricky: Oh yes, Vance finished near the end of the field but not last. Same time as that Qazox Veronica Foster girl too. You go all red when I say that name - Veronica Foster.

Padroso: Well, she is nice ...
Ricky: What if I say, Dazza!

Padroso: Man, some girls just get me all embarrassed.
Ricky: Doesn't matter - you're the man of the moment. Look who you beat today, that San-Rin-Sha, Karl Gordon, Oleg, me and even Johnnie Steele. Come on - if you can go out there win three stages, girls are easy to handle. You pick one as they are throwing themselves at you.

Padroso: Oh here comes Rachel!
Ricky: Hey chicky - the man is here. Not me but Padroso.

Rachel: My God, three stage wins - Vance only has one and Ricky one as usual. Last year you didn't win anything. What's changed?
Ricky: He's trying to impress the Qazoxian girls, are you?

Padroso: Not on purpose.
Rachel: Well, this is one team. Who's that San-Rin-Sha from Az-Cz?

Ricky: Circus guy - and he's won a stage. Actually the team are a bunch of circus performers.
Padroso: And one weird tricycle, a racing tricycle.

Ricky: I looked at thing, it's got some weird gear system which seems better than your average one. I think at top gear - it's faster than most bikes but it's aerodynamics slows it down.
Padroso: Yeah, it's got a lousy slipstream too.

Up next: Day 11 Stage 9: Gothika to Bruxen. Distance: 99 miles. A welcome break after the tough mountains of the last few stages, as the riders head for the coast.

Gothika-Mikel Perurena and Mikel Lejarreta were both very angry at the end of the last Tour de Qazox stage, as their ploy to win the stage and climb positions in the overall failed after a strong reaction commanded by tour blue jersey Pedroso Fina.

"We launched an attack on the first kilometers and we though it was the good one, until we saw drop the differences between us and the leader pack at 20 kilometers from the finish", said Perurena, who added "At some moment in the stage I really felt that I was going to give Northern Caesarea its first victory in this Tour de Qazox edition, but Fina and the Green Wombat runners were really fit and I was tired after so many kilometers riding alone or with Lejarreta".

Mikel Lejarreta complained again about his bad health condition: "If I hadn't that collarbone broken some months ago, Fina would see what I'm able to do".

Zé do Caixão Jr. got 0.5 points in the climbing standings and is now the best placed rider of Cafundéu, being in the 9th position. Andreas Leonels continue in the middle of the table and Asano is just waiting another fast stage.

Zé do Caixão also said something unusual: "I was in the 8th position, when I saw Ayrton Senna. Then I followed him with an incredible speed and I finished in the 6th position!"

Of course this wasn't real. Zé do Caixão Jr. is famous for his visions and because he thinks that he has paranormal powers. But Cafundéu's government doesn't want to see him in a hospital for treatment.

Asano Pender made a wonderful result, finishing the stage in the third position. He only said: "I've trained hard to get this position and it was well deserved. Now I'll look for better positions".

Leonels and Zé do Caixão Jr. didn't do nothing interesting, but are still doing a good job.

Rachel: Hey Ricky. Those for me?
Ricky: No, no - some presents for my wife at home.

Rachel: Where's Padroso Fina - I've a treat for him!
Ricky: He's asleep but I'm pass it onto him.

Rachel: A signed Veronica Foster photo!
Ricky: Let me have look!

Rachel: You would too. Here you go.
Ricky: Hey, nice. I'd like one too. Not many girls doing cycling - we need more so we can attract more money and get more viewers.

Rachel: There's no Dazza Dallas of the cycling world yet.
Ricky: Well, we'll have to wait.

Rachel: You want Dazza to take up cycling or something?
Ricky: Maybe one of those Dallas girls.

Rachel: Hey, my daughter likes cycling - maybe you can help her get into the sport - you know train her up.
Ricky: Sure, what's she good at.

Rachel: She's probably a climber like Padroso and you.
Ricky: Doesn't she play football?

Rachel: Yeah, but I think she likes cycling better.
Ricky: I'll give her look. I assume she's a smallish girl and not too muscular?

Rachel: Nothing like Veronica Foster - more like Dazza in stature.
Ricky: Sure thing. It's a long hard road to fame in cycling though.

Rachel: That's OK, she's patient like her father Harry Kool. She knows hard work.

Las Vitas-That phrase was pronounced by Mikel perurena, after the first Northern Caesarean victory in this edition of the Tour de Qazox. The cyclist from Arana overcame some troubles at the first stages of this competition, which have made him fall very far in the overall standings.

Mikel launched his decisive attack at 35 Km of the finish. Soon, Zak K Speed (The Mushroom Kingship), Ichi-Rin-Sha (Az-Cz) and the leader, Henry Critten (Green Wombat), were with him. Mikel, helped by the Mushroomite, imposed a very strong rhytm to the pack. Critten and Rin-Sha soon lost contact with the leading couple.

In the last kilometer of the stage, Perurena was faster enough to win and leave K Speed at 4 seconds.

Perurena recieved a congratulations telegram from president Teresa Fernández and minister of Culture Trinidad Montaño.

Rachel: Hey Ricky, you finally won a stage. That's a first.
Ricky: Yeah, I've won a tour and never stage. Well, I have one now!

Rachel: Padroso Fina is still doing pretty well, third and he's still third in the ranks - only by 1 second ahead of you though.
Ricky: Ah yes, he's still a chance to win. If he or me win, that's OK - it's team thing. 1st and 2nd would be nice but probably not with the two wombats Johnnie Steele and Henry Critten in the way. Oh yes and that Zak K Speed fella!

Rachel: It looks like Padroso Fina might be the best climber.
Ricky: 3 stage wins - pretty good and a few placings. He's doing good indeed.

Rachel: Now, Vance Lumberjack is having trouble with that Dai-Rin-Sha. Dai-Rin-Sha is so good no one can touch him in sprinting.
Ricky: You said it. He's good indeed. Even Vance has trouble and others are just making up the numbers with the sprinting.

Rachel: Now, there's already a big game between the two wombats and you and Fina - over 1 minute. Can you make up?
Ricky: Well, yes and no. If things are going as they are, no. We are trying out best and even we can't catch the flying wombats. We will need some luck and maybe some Wombats to slow down for us.

Rachel: You are retiring after this?
Ricky: Yes, getting old and we need a new Ricky. Padroso and Vance are still young and can do a few more tours.

Rachel: And you stated you want female to take your place.
Ricky: Yes, here's a message to all you female cyclists! Get your act together and you could be here next year.

Rachel: Yes girls, I think a female cyclist do it too. But you have to prove you can make it.
Ricky: Yes, it's tough out here. You have to be good because if you're weak mentally, you'll fail.

Rachel: Speaking of girls, it's rumoured your son Rocky has been involved of the Dallas girls.
Ricky: It's not Dazza folks, I think it's Debbie's girl - Rashina. She's a nice girl, but been hanging around her aunty too much I think.

Rachel: Oh, she's being a little Dazza then.
Ricky: And we all know what Dazza's like.

Rachel: That's it from Tour de Qazox. Ricky Pointy Stick - wins a stage. Great news but the wombats still lead the pack.
Ricky: I like wombats - the animal variety.

Theb domination of Green Wombat in this Tpour de Qazox edition is insulting. They lead, with two riders, the overall standings and it seems that nothing can be done in the race without their consent.

Lejarreta is not a friend of theirs, as they proved blockings all his attempts to win the stage.

(ooc sorry i haven't been in a bit internet connection was down and i had to get a new modem to replace my old POS one)

After 12 stages of the TOUR de QAZOX, Green Wombat has risen above all others with Herny Critten and Johnnie Steele currently sitting in 1st and 2nd respectively. With only just over a week left, Can anyone stop these 2 from just running away with the title in their 1st attempt?

The 2nd half of the mountains are coiming up, and that's when Critten and Steele made their 1st moves towards the top of the leaderboard, when the mountians are done will it just be a 2-man 1 team race for the Blue Jersey?

While these questions still need to be answered, so far its looking good for Green Wombat to steal one of Qazox' most treasured sporting events away from them.

Kibbutz-Northern Caesarea cyclist Mikel Perurena couldn't leave the podium area after the team trial ran yesterday at the Tour de Qazox.

The cyclist of Qazox, who is in a very low position in the overall standing, did an excellent stage, marking the best time in all the intermediaries points. At the finish, no one could do best except Anrowan Anseria lefrenst made a spectacular sprint in the last kilometers to win the 54.8 miles stage... by only 3 seconds.

"I think I'm the moral winner of the stage, as I was the most regular rider in it. Anyway, I congratulate Lefrenst for the stage. I'm a bit dissapòinted with my time trial performance this year. I'm always near, but I never win. I think I'll work on it this winter, with the wind tunnel and all that stuff"...

KOOL RIDER UPDATE

Oh my! Stage 13 and it was one of those time trials. Ricky Pointy Stick normally makes a mess of these and the other Jeruselem team members were expected to do better than sticky Ricky. Well, it seems Ricky's sprinting has actually improved and he finished SECOND. Yes, second in an individual time trial.

Ricky almost won another stage falling 3 seconds short of Juan Carlos Aguilar from Northern Caesarea, with Juan's compatriot Mikel Lejarreta 10 seconds away from his friend. Ricky split the pair and well moved to 2nd in overall standings but he is something like 70 seconds off leader Henry Critten from The Green Wombat.

Vance Jumberjack did well as usual but was 33 seconds off the pace and Fina Padroso finished 47 seconds off the pace - not bad although Vance was expected to do better on the day but Ricky showed them how it was done.

The overall standings still show two Jeruselem and Green Wombat riders leading the way. The others have over 2 minutes to make up on the leader. It looks like Henry Critten and his friend will be fight it out with our two riders unless the other teams make a move. Stars the Zak K Speed have not performed and some new stars have emerged outperforming some of the more fancied riders.

The riders from Anastasiania are all last and God knows why they are so bad.

Well the TOUR is almost over.. and after a week at the top, Henry Critten's stranglehold on the Blue Jersey has been wrested away from him by Padroso Fina of Jeruselem. With only 3 stages left, Green Wombat and Jeruselem' best 2 riders are locked in a 4-way scrum for the titile, as all for men are within a minute of each other. Ryan Hill has climbed up to 17th after being stuck near the back of the pack for most of the TOUR. Johnnie Steele has been the most consistent of late, finishing in the top 10 for most of the past week. Only the final Mountain stage, the team time trial, and the ride into Qazox City remain. Can Green Wombat's Critten and Steele hold off Jeruselem's Fina and Defending Champ, Ricky Poiny Stick? or will San-Rin-Sha of Az-Cz shock the world as pass 4 riders to win? Only time and the men and woman riding this TOUR will tell.

Jeruselem Government News

KOOL RIDER UPDATE from the Tour De Qazox

Well, it's real exciting at the Tour de Qazox. The Stage 18 results weren't the best for Jeruselem due to an average time trial from the team but the team has one sprinter and two climber so we rather well considering our sprinting prowess is not of any real standard really. Quakmybush won the time trial with Jeruselem 7th, 91 seconds behind but then you can't say Ricky Pointy Stick is a real sprinter or the new Climbing Champion, Padroso Fina is either.

The results that matter is the Green Wombat vs Jeruselem tussle with two of each team in the top 4. Well Green Wombat are not a Qazox - and they can't sprint either and they finished 8th, 106 seconds behind. This means we made up 15 seconds.

Henry Critten still leads but by ONE SECOND. Yes, Ricky is one second behind the leader and then we have Padroso Fina who is third 21 seconds behind. Johnny Steele of Green Wombat is over a minute behind but one minute isn't much on the cycling tour really. The others might as well give up.

So, it's so close. Ricky can win back to back while the climbing leader could win the tour too. It's all upto to the two Green Wombats to form a plan to help their man Henry Critten to win.

Oh yes, all riders from Anastasiania are still last. Even Vance Lumberjack who was nearly last, on the last tour is doing better than them. He's 21st not 30th. Actually Veronica Foster is 20th, and well there's nothing wrong with that either as sprinter.

What a long strange trip it has been, and now its over. I'm considering cutting a week of the tour, as it seems to lose interest over the last 5 or days. As for when the next Tour will be? Don't know yet. Possibly after Women's World Cup 7 is done, but most likely it will wait until January. If any one else would like to "host/scorinate this" you are more than welcome. Personally I would like to see this evolve into 3 or 4 TOURS, (i.e in RL, TOUR de France, Giro de Italia, Tour DuPont (usa) etc.) and have points accrue towards a Championship. TY to all who entered, hope you had fun and hopefully i'll see in 1916 for the TOUR.

(FromChannel 5's coverage of the TOUR de QAZOX)

...with only a mile left to go Henry Critten and Ricky Pointy Stick, who came into this last stage only one second apart, are fighting tooth and nail to finish ahead of each other, the first one to finish between these to competitiors will win the TOUR. And Crtitten has begun to pull away a bit from Pointy Stick, and now is ahead of him by 10 feet or so. Critten is coming up on Alan O'Neill of Qazox, and he passes him.. Pointy Stick is falling back now, his last push over the past 5 miles seems to have worn him down. Only 1/2 a mile to go now as the riders enter the stadium for the one lap around and Henry Critten is about 50 feet ahead of Pointy Stick and it looks like he is going to win the Tour!!! Rounding the far side of the stadium now, and all of the fans from Green Wombat are cheering and chanting.. Only 1/4 of a mile left to go and the lead over Pointy Stick now is over 200 feet. Henry's coming down the frontstretch now and YES!!!! ITS OVER!!! HENRY CRITTEN HAS WON THE TOUR de QAZOX!!!!! A great run by Ricky Pointy Stick, the defending champion, but moved over Ricky, HENRY CRITTEN has won the TOUR!!!
