QAZOX will send the following players to compete in The Aglukark-Cherry Ice Hockey Cup 20: The Trekkies.. (lol.. yes i'm a Star Trek nut...\\//_)
(STARTERS IN BLUE)
HEAD COACH: Quark: Will spend every last slip of Latinum to win the Cup, but not too much Latinum.. (see Rule of Acqusition #435)
Goalies:
Charles "Trip" Tucker III: A feisty Goalie, will slash your forward's legs at any given time.
Jonathan Archer- Good Defensive Goalie especialy when allowed to have his dog, Porthos on the ice with him.
Dr. Phlox- Decent goalie, but too concerned with injuries.. fortunately Injuring the other team.
DEFENSEMEN:
Tom Paris: Strong hard-checker, when paired with B’Elanna Torres, they form an almost unstoppable checking machine, that is when they aren't making-out on the ice.
B’Elanna Torres: Strong hard-checker, when paired with Tom Paris, they form an almost unstoppable checking machine, that is when they aren't making-out on the ice.
Chakotay: More of a Defensive Forward than a true defenseman, always looking to start a breakaway.
Tuvok: Voted most likely to Mind-Meld 7 years in a row.. The ice always seems to make him do strange things though.
Harry Kim: Young, and kinda easily duped, but won't take stupid penalties just to prevent other team from scoring.
Kathryn Janeway: Leader on defense, probably one of the best in the game, but takes too many chances.
FORWARDS:
(LEFT)
Benjamin Sisko: Fast, quick, and every other synonym of fast, he's the best scoring threat on the team, but his mind does wander a bit from time to time.
Odo- Not much is known about this player, but his shape-shifting abilities are invaluable on the ice.
Dr. Julian Bashir- This genetically enhanced player probably can do everythign, but shut-up on the ice.
Kira Nerys- 2nd Hardest hitter on the team, and the smallest, She'll do anything, legal or illegal to win.
FORWARDS:
(RIGHT)
Data- Android. Can't be hurt.. can't be stopped. But his newly found emotions might.
William Riker- Grizzled Veteran, a bit slow for a forward, but checks hard, plays hard, plays to win.
Worf- Best Fore-checker on the team, will steamroll every one in his way, including teammates, referees, the Zamboni, and occasionally spectators.
Jean-Luc Picard- Sniper, if you need a goal during a shoot-out he's your guy, but other than that not really useful at all.
CENTERS:
Spock- Plays flawlessly logical offense, setting up Data and Sisko. A bit boring to listen to.
Dr. Leonard McCoy- "Dammit Jim, I'm a Doctor, not a Hockey Player!!"
James T. Kirk- Captain of the team, doesn't like to lose.. at all. In or to anything up to and including death.
Pavel Chekov- Claims that everythign ever invented came from Russia. Has hard time pronouncing "w".
ooc: We signed up in the first sign up thread, so don't forget us in the draw please, thanks.
Vilita & Turori prepare for Aglkark-Cherry Cup
The Vilita & Turori Frozen Eel-Cat's are stepping foot into the Aglukark-Cherry Ice Hockey Cup Double-X edition with a new life under their feathers. Az-cz roster:
Coach: Carlos Kronen
Carlos immigrated to Az-cz and was the one to first teach the sport to the Gnomes. He's getting on in years but is more than ready to lead the team as it challenges the rest of the world.
All offensive lines are listed in the order of LW-C-RW
Offensive Line 1:
Hey-Dk, Sk-Ik, Dru-Ri
The offensive line 1 is the main offensive line on the team. Sk-Ik is a brilliant center and Hey-Dk and Dru-Ri both have strong shots and good skills.
Offensive Line 2:
No-Lan, Dmp-Hs, Mar-Lo
The second offensive line is the second scoring line.
Offensive Line 3:
So-Lo, Tu-Fst, Stm-Na
The third line is a line based on their athleticness. They have incredible speed and stamina and are often used to cause trouble to other teams and wear down their players by flying around the ice. Also very dangerous on quick shifts.
Offensive Line 4:
Jaromir Fedorenko, Teemu Nordquist, Kng-Kng
The fourth line is the checking line. With two big non native Az-czzers and a big stout Az-czzer in Kng-Kng this line can really lay down the damage. If another team has a pretty boy center that needs to be knocked down a peg, this is the line to do it.
Defensive Line 1:
Pierre Epinecolline, Mat-Mat
The top line defenders. Mat-Mat is a brilliant defender and also leads the point on the power play and Epinecolline is a master of crushing blows.
Defensive Line 2:
So-Bal, Swzl-Stk
A solid second defese line
Defensive Line 3:
Kn-Rg, Da-Li
Kn-Rg is a bit of an offensive minded defender and Da-Li is his partner, also the only women on the team.
Goalie:
Ha-Shk
Ha-Shk is the best player on the team, with only Sk-Ik even in the same area. He is an absolute beast in the pipes and is known as the "Subjugator" because he subjugates hockey games to his will.
Evgeni Tesla
Tesla is a solid backup keeper to Ha-Shk and can come in and keep the team afloat when Ha-Shk needs rest.
Other players will be chosen in case of scratches or injuries.
OOC:
If there is a style modifier, we would be -1. As for RP permissions most things are probably ok.

What maulings/beatings will happen this time?
Yep that's right for the first time in a long time the Isrealis finally lost the Milchama Hockey Cup to a Mongol team. Of course despite this the Mongols still barely understand the game of hockey and use their horses to skate so noone really knows what could in their second go round after a rather uneventful first go round. So now here are the lineups:
Line 1
LW: Mashahit Gabowhy
C: William Chakorov
RW: Elbanar Gilhachman
Line 2:
LW: Barich Whichpit
C: Geop Alint
RW: Sepetro Mechrin
Defense 1:
Ebert Gibanhebe
Masmas Mehafoo
Defense 2:
Kyop Okwool
Kyoga Ezczbadede
Goalies:
Starter: Mechul Wilpal
Backup: Santi Feeeefuh
Oh and please don't be upset if they bring their horses on the ice or in the rink they seriously don't know any better.

Aurendia
25-10-2006, 02:58
Aurendia National Ice Hockey Team: Ice Weasels
Head Coach: Player-Coach Reggie Dunlop
Captain: LW Julie Moreau
Alternate Captains: LW Bobby O’Reilly
D Kelly Starr
Starting Roster
Position Jersey # Name (Age) AHL Team
Forward Line 1
LW 8 Julie Moreau (C) (26) Southport Sharks
C 19 Keith Wille (26) Kurova Thunder
RW 7 Reggie Dunlop (32) Bluff Creek Barbarians
Wille and Moreau have alternated being AHL scoring leader over the past four seasons. Dunlop hasn’t slowed down with age, and with his experience he can exploit any situation that may develop while lending some grit and muscle to the top line.
Forward Line 2
LW 13 Bobby O’Reilly (A) (25) Etoka Bears
C 22 Amanda Esposito (24) Etoka Bears
RW 96 Melissa Jolini (23) Ossipee Lake Monsters
O’Reilly and Esposito have been together on Etoka’s top line for several years. As a result they seem to have an uncanny knowledge of each other’s location on the ice, that when combined with their passing ability, makes for a dangerous combination. Jolini has less experience than the Etoka duo, but already displays immense talent. This trio is just as likely to score as the first line, but brings more of a physical edge.
Forward Line 3
LW 14 Dave Swenson (26) Starksville Chiefs
C 16 Erika Swenson (24) Starksville Chiefs
RW 18 Steve Swenson (25) Starksville Chiefs
All siblings, the Swenson’s provide Starksville with plenty of physical skill. They also provide a scoring threat, if they haven’t been kicked out of the game yet.
Forward Line 4
LW 13 Ryan Kennel (23) Imo Vipers
C 81 Pete Sandrini (25) Zeneri Scorpions
RW 57 Jennifer Hylei (24) Nocona Comets
Though young, these three have already combined for 9 All-Star Game appearances. As a unit the fourth line will bring a balance of scoring ability and physicality to the team.
Defensive Pairing 1
LD 55 Kelly Starr (A) (25) Rock Ridge Coyotes
RD 4 Ray Diamond (25) Three Rivers Aurendians
Starr has the hardest shot in the AHL and routinely leads defensive players in scoring. Last season Diamond broke the record for best season +/-, previously set by him two seasons prior.
Defensive Pairing 2
LD 2 Jeff Long (26) Portland Pirates
RD 43 Samantha Durance (24) Medford Mobsters
Durance can skate backwards and still out-race any player in the AHL. Long anchors Portland’s defensive corps with his highlight-reel body-checks and aggressive physical play.
Defensive Pairing 3
LD 9 Ayla O’Brien (23) Hill Valley Highlanders
RD 11 Elizabeth Jung (23) Twin Falls Tigers
O’Brien and Jung are both fast puck-moving defenders with great passing and shooting skills. Additionally, neither will back down from a fight when challenged.
Goalies
GK1 35 Connie Gaffney (24) Sirocca Wolverines
Gaffney’s lightning-quick reflexes mean that goals against her are few and far between. She is equally effective with the glove, the blocker, the pads, or the stick; high and low; and on either side.
GK2 39 Greg “Aminaka” Lemieux (26) Springfield Ferrets
Desperate for goalie help a few years ago, Springfield tried the “sumo wrestler as goalie” trick. To everyone’s surprise, it worked extremely well. Three All-Star seasons later, Aminaka will be the Ice Weasels’ backup for the AC Cup.
GK3 30 Dennis Wooderson (25) Kurova Thunder
Wooderson has amazing stick-handling and glove skill, and as a result he almost never gives up rebounds. Lower on the depth chart than Gaffney and King, he will still play a few games as the goalies will be platooned for the early round.
OOC:
RP-wise, just don’t kill them or injure them for more than a few games.
If there are modifiers, call it a +2

"So, which group at Y Sbortóanghii in, this year, Dogbelix?"
"I'm not sure, comrade, I think maybe it's the same one as Beddgelort."
"Ah, true enough, Amborix."
"I tell you, last time they said we'd drawn a match in which we scored more goals than the opposition, this time we've started out with the wrong name. You'd think this competition were run by a rabble of amatures!"
"Indeed it is, comrade... isn't that fantastic?"
"I suppose it is! Anyway, since Y Sbortóanghii have plans to be elsewhere within a few hours of the first game, we aren't expecting to go very far, this year, in spite of a promising showing last time, when the Geletians were playing their first ever, you know, games of hockey."
"Oh, indeed, and so the team's little changed. Again, the Beddgelens will be playing in chequered brown and red... and blue... and sometimes orange... and that guy's got some purple going on... well, in chequered trousers, anyway, with their militia-standard tin helmets..."
"Emblazened with the red star, of course."
"Or yellow star with a red fist, depending on their unit, Amborix."
"Aye, and not much else... except, this year, they've actually got skates, since the last competition inspired a whip-around at several phalansteries. So, the rosta, again, with injuries tended by the application of harsh words and smooth liquor since last year's hapless -but surprisingly fruitful- sprawling across the ice. Only Dan y Trocmi is missing, but I'll be damned if I can remember why."
"I think he's dead, comrade."
"Ohh, right."

(OOC: So, er, yes, I won't be around after this Friday, but if Beddgelert is still going after then, opponents may feel free to use those players in reports, be they serious or comic.
Most of Y Sbortóanghii (the young sporting warriors) are two-metre tall Celts from the icy south of the continent of Geletia, and have been through revolutionary war and all sorts of business. They turn up often shirtless and wearing baggy trousers and militia helmets, and probably drunk or messed-up on opiates, and Y Sbortóanghii, at one year old, are the most ancient side in the whole country. Last year they amazed everyone by winning a couple of games, despite not knowing the rules. Do anything or nothing with that information, as it pleases you.
Nobody's any good, but they'll all try really hard, and don't fight them, because they won't put down their sticks or take-off their helmets for the occassion, and you will die horribly. Some of them have taken the heads of their defeated enemies in battle, and used them as kitchen fixtures.)

JAMES T. KIRK: While transporting down to Earth, a sudden timequake, so Spock tells me, shuddered though our ship and deposited us on Earth, but 350 years in the past. Myself, Mr. Spock, Dr. McCoy and Ensign Chekov, were the only persons transported at the time and we appeared in what seemed to be a Hockey Arena. We were told by an unseen voice to "Please get out of the way.. there's more people coming." As Spock began to take readings of the area, a transporter beam appeared in front of us and...
JEAN-LUC PICARD- While orbiting Earth, with Captains Sisko, Nerys, Chakotay, Riker and Admiral Janeway on board for a conference, Ambassadors Odo and Worf joined us, and while on the Shuttlecraft Yangtze and Congo, we were overtaken by a time-quake, which deposited us and the following members of our crew into what seemed to be an ancient sporting arena. Commanders Tuvok and Data, Lt. Commanders Paris, Torres, Dr. Bashir, and Lt. Kim were also sent here as well. When we re-materialized a voice spoke and told us: "Please get out of the way.. there's more people coming."
JONATHAN ARCHER: While orbiting Earth after our initial contact with the Klingons, an unknown source of energy struck the Enterprise and Myself, Commander Tucker, and Dr. Phlox were transported off the ship and we landed in what appeared to be a Hockey Arena, specifically, the one in Rorysville, one of the old powerhouses of hockey before it was banned in 2128 for being too non-violent. Upon our arrival, there was two other groups of people there as well. Then a voice called down to us:
"YOU MEMBERS OF THE STAR TREK CONTINUUM HAVE BEEN CHOSEN TO PARTICPATE IN THE 20TH AGLUKARK-CHERRY HOCKEY CUP. AND JEAN-LUC.. MY NAME IS NOT 'Q'..SO DON'T EVEN MENTION HIS NAME. YOU ARE HERE TO WIN THE CUP FOR QAZOX. FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION. SUCCEED AND YOU SHALL BE RETURNED TO YOUR TIMES. FAIL AND LET'S JUST SAY YOU DON'T WANNA FAIL.

Well I've been assigned to do predictions, but near as I can tell not a single team is doing any training or anything to get better. It's nearly impossible to do rankings or predictions in such a scenario. So in times like this I found it best to turn to my magic 8 ball to make predictions. Here goes:
Question 1. Will Az-cz win the group? Outlook not so good.
Bummer. So it won't be us.
Queston 2. Will Az-cz finish last in the group? Concentrate and ask again.
Ok. Will Az-cz finish last in the group? You may rely on it.
Well crap. So there's one team down. Mark Az-cz down for last, or seventh. Let's look at Vilita next.
Question 3. Will Vilita win the group? Cannot predict now. Let's try again. Will Vilita win the group? Ask again later. Third try. Will Vilita win the group? Without a doubt.
Ok so Vil first and us last. Let's look at our BoF runners up Aurendia.
Question 4. Will Aurendia finish second? My sources say yes.
So Vil, Aurendia, four teams, Az-cz. Ok then. Let's look at the last AO team, Bettia.
Question 5. Will Bettia finish third? Without a doubt.
So three AO teams on top, one AO team on bottom. How about those crazy guys from TMK?
Question 6. Will TMK finish fourth? NO!
Ok. Then, let's see about sixth place then/
Question 7. Will TMK finish sixth? I doubt it. So that leaves them in 5th place.
Just two teams left. Del Riso and Squornshelous. Since Squornshelous is actually famous will do them next.
Question 8. Will Squornshelous finish ahead of TMK? As I see it yes.
So here's your final rankings then:
1. Vilita
2. Aurendia
3. Bettia
4. Squornshelous
5. TMK
6. Del Riso
7. Az-cz
So that's bad news for Az-cz hockey fans, but I suppose I'm not telling you anything you didn't already know. It's not like we're known for our hockey prowess. At least if this holds true are AO brethren will have risen to the top.
After the voice had said what it had said.. the 21 Star Trek characters sat in the locker room trying to figure a out of this mess.... with each group staying with their fellow shipmates.
(TOS Meeting)
KIRK: So Spock, any information about this.. um Cup thing?
SPOCK: Captain, according to my tri-corder, The Aglukark-Cherry Ice Hockey Cup was contested between teams from different countries to settle their differences in a contest of skill, speed and shooting a rubber obloid into the back of a net on frozen water. Very fascinating.
MCCOY: Damnit Jim, I'm a doctor, not a hookey player.
SPOCK: The term is Hockey player, Dr. McCoy.
MCCOY: Damn you and your green-blooded logic! Any ideas as to how the heck we can get out of here?
KIRK: Not yet Bones. Spock.. any idea who the others are? I recognise Captain Johnathan Archer, Cmdr. Charles Tucker and Dr. Phlox... Bones you and Phlox met once right?
MCCOY: I think so,, but it was back in my academy days. I think he's younger than when i met him, so he wouldn't have any memory of this i guess.
CHEKOV: Keptain, back in Minsk, I vas star hockey center for my high school team. I believe I can help us vin this Cup.
SPOCK: Mr. Chekov, I believe your perviuos experience can help, but for us to win we all need to work together... Captain??
KIRK: Well Spock, standing here talking isn't gonna get the job done. I'm going to talk with the others....
(ENTERPRISE MEETING)
ARCHER: Trip.. any idea where we are and what we're doing here?
TRIP: Your guess is as good as mine Cap. My best Guess is we're in Rorysville for the 20th Aglukark-Cherry Ice Hockey Cup, I remember that my grandfather had a program he got from his dad from this. It took place in the early 2000's.
ARCHER: Did this QAZOX team win it?
TRIP: I don't know.. Grandpa never realy talked about it.
PHLOX: Captain Archer, from what i have read about Hockey there a good chance that there will be some injuries. Too bad I don't know much about early 21st century medicine.
ARCHER: Well, only one thing to do now, talk to the other people here and try to figure a way out of this mess.

QAZOX will send the following players to compete in The Aglukark-Cherry Ice Hockey Cup 20: The Trekkies.. (lol.. yes i'm a Star Trek nut...\\//_)
Well, in that case:
Squornshelous will send a brand new team to the Cherry Aglukark Cup, after last cup's team all died in a sailing mishap.
The Warsies
starters in red
Coach: Grand Admiral Thrawn
A strategic and tactical genius he has scripted dozens and dozens of set plays for the team to set up in a variety of situations.
Goalkeeper:
Emperor Palpatine - Has extensive knowledge of the force, and has been know to occasionally employ force lightning against shooters.
Luke Skywalker - Uses the force to predict shots before opposing forwards actually make them, giving him extremely quick reflexes.
Jabba the Hutt - He is extremely unathletic, but his body is so large that it almost entirely blocks the net.
Defense:
Chewbacca - At an imposing 2+ meters tall and with a strength greater than any human, he is a defensebeing who makes Zdeno Chara look frail. Communication with teammates can be difficult however, as he only speaks Wookie. He once earned a game misconduct and 8 week suspension for ripping off an opponents arm.
Darth Vader - He's pretty athletic for a man on a respirator. His robotic limbs and control of the force give him amazing strength in checking and slap shots from the point.
Darth Maul - A very aggressive defensebeing who can often be found joining in on an odd man rush. Has a nasty habit of earning spearing penalties by trying to run his opponents through with his stick, forgetting that it's not a lightsaber.
Count Dooku - While not the most athletic player, his ruthless use of the force gives him an advantage.
Qui-Gon Jin - He waits patiently at the blue line for forwards to commit, and then cuts them off from the goal, hemming them into the corner where he can steal the puck.
Lando Calrissian - He's the also ran, he's a skilled skater, and has decent skills, but always seems to be in the shadow of his teammates.
Right Wing:
Boba Fett - The galaxy's most infamous bounty hunter uses the many devices built into his armo- err, hockey suit to move the puck quickly past defensemen, and uses his jetpack as an advantage when the referee's attention wanders.
Mace Windu - He is a very fast a physical player, using his supreme athleticism to beat the defense. Has a strong dislike of snakes, especially aboard airliners.
Mara Jade - Adept at using the force, she is also very phisically tough, often overpowering players larger than herself, in both body checks and fights.
Center:
Wedge Antilles - This New Republic fighter ace has the most accurate shot on the team, and while he is on the small side, his quicness and maneuverability allow him to get around bigger players.
General Grievous - Uses his four arms for fine control on faceoffs and long range shots. The only downside is, he seems to have asthma.
Obi-Wan Kenobi (Alec Guiness (RIP) not Ewan McGregor)
Will use his wisdom, experience and knowledge of the force to lead our team to greatness.
Left Wing:
Yoda - The lean, green, goalscoring machine, Yoda uses his immense skill with the force, especially levitation and telekinesis to play hockey as it had never been played before.
Han Solo - He uses every trick in the book, and a few that aren't to make his way down the ice to score, often racking up penalty minutes along the way.
Wikket the Ewok - Yes, the same who befriended Princess Leia, he takes advantage of other teams misjudgement of him based on his stature and appearance and makes them pay big.

The other Meetings...
(VOYAGER'S)
PARIS: Admiral.. I know a bit about hockey..but i don't recall who won this Cup .. If we win it, it may change history.
JANEWAY: I'm well aware of that Tom. Tuvok, B’Elanna, any ideas on how to get back to our own time?
TORRES: No. If we could get a hold of some technology, we could, but I doubt that even with Data and Spock we could get it to work.
TUVOK: I estimate that it would take approximately 7 years for us to get enough materials to create a device that could send us back to our proper tmeframe.
KIM: So, we're stuck here until we win or die then?
CHAKOTAY: Admiral, i'm going to talk with the others, maybe they might have found a way to track down this "voice" and if we find him or her, they might be able to send us back....
(TNG Meeting)
DATA: ...and Captian, the possiblites here are staggering. If we win this Cup, there a 3.472589% chance that the future will be altered beyond any repair. And...
PICARD: Thanks Data.. Any ideas Number one?
RIKER: None really, until we know more about our sitiuation. Beside i think i'd need to talk with Worf... he looks like he's about to send someone to Gre'Thor.
PICARD: Data.. I'm going to meet with the other Captians... continue with you research and please turn off your emotion chip.
(DS9 meeting)
SISKO: How'd I get here? I was with the ..Prophets.. when I was sent to the Enterprise and then now i'm here.
ODO: You guess is as good as mine, I'm just glad Quark isn't here.
BASHIR: I remember reading once about hockey, facinating sport as there was many injuries, concussions, contusions, broken bones, I wonder why they played it?
KIRA: Well I donlt care about hockey.. I'm gonna try to find some answers and get out of here.
SISKO: Nerys, just calm down a minute... The other groups are coming this way and i guess we're gonna figure out what to do next..
Just then the Voice re-appeared
OH, CRAP.. I FORGOT TO GET YOU ALL A HEAD COACH...HMMM... YES HE'LL DO NICELY.
After the words had been spoken, another beam of light appeared, and out came Quark...
ODO: I should of known you were behind this, Quark.
QUARK: ME? i was just in the middle of a business transaction and then i'm here.. why is it so damnned cold?

Greg Gilbert stared at Harry White in annoyance.
"Stop dribbling on the damn floor!"
"Shorry coacsh, dentish inshected a lot." said White, his jaw full of gauze. He had somehow managed to get cut on the gums in the course of the game and needed stiches. With the anaesthetic removing much of his control over his mouth, bloody drool was collecting on the carpet of the hotel room.
"How on earth did he get his stick in your mouth?" asked Neville, who smacked his forehead when he realised what he had said.
Everyone laughed except Crawford, who didn't get it.
Out the side of his mouth, White explained, "I was going into the corner after they dumped it, right, and when I hit the guy he got his shoulder up and my mouthguard came off, right, and then his stick was like up or something and I was opening my mouth to swear at him then I don't know what happened my mouth hurt you know, on the top bit above my teeth and blood was all over the place..."
"Uhh, never mind. We're playing against..." Gilbert riffled through his papers for a few minutes, "...I don't know who we're playing against next."
Sydney Crawford picked up some of the papers the coach had dropped, looked through them, and said "Rorysville."
"Don't get smart with me you little twit." snarled the coach.

KIRK: We, Star Trekkers, as we have been called, took on Mangus Valerius and came away with a 2-2 draw. Mr. Spock and Cmdr. Data played well, each scoring a goal, but Worf, that Klingon...acquired 6 penalties, inculding a 10- minute major for hitting the referee in the head with the stick. Hopefully Dr. McCoy and Phlox can fix him, but this primative time period's medical knowledge may cause him to be in a coma for over a week. Our next game is against Olivery, one of the better teams. Hopefully we will band together and overcome this obsticle.

“No witty slogan. We’re just boring like that.”
Fists fly as Ice Weasels open Cherry Cup play with 6-1 loss to Squornshelous
RIVERTOWN, PL – By the time the buzzer sounded to end the first period, Squornshelous already had a 4-0 lead, and the Ice Weasels entire third line had been ejected.
Following two uneventful shifts, the Swenson siblings first stepped on the ice, and the game got interesting. Erika Swenson took Aurendia’s first shot of the game, which Emperor Palpatine followed up with an easy save. Play was stopped, words were exchanged, and Swenson rushed Palpatine with fists flying. The fight was inconclusive, but the Ice Weasels earned the major for fighting, as well as an instigator call and ejection for Erika Swenson. The Warsies rolled their first power-play line, and Yoda made it one-nil before two minutes had even passed in the first. Three minutes later it was 2-0, as Squornshelous took the puck the length of the ice and Mara Jade beat Connie Gaffney five-hole.
The next face-off saw another Swenson ejected, this time oldest brother Dave. Before the puck was even dropped, Swenson and Mace Windu were fighting. Both earned five minutes in the sin bin, with the instigator penalty going to Swenson. With a quick wave to the cheering crowds Swenson was escorted to the dressing room, and the Ice Weasels brought out the penalty killers. During the ensuing man advantage, Wedge Antilles scored to make it 3-0 Squornshelous.
With four minutes left in the first, Steve Swenson decided to join his siblings. After almost being speared by Darth Maul, Swenson dropped the gloves, and Maul followed. Maul went down, but Swenson went to the locker room, with the third ejection. On the ensuing power-play Darth Vader scored off a thunderous shot from the point.
For the second period the Ice Weasels made a change in net, bringing out a shell-shocked Gaffney for former sumo wrestler Greg Lemieux. Lemieux was able to keep Squornshelous off the board for most of the period, until Yoda struck again a minute before the second intermission.
Aurendia finally got on the board in the third. With Squornshelous in the middle of a line change, the Ice Weasel’s second line took advantage of a 3-on-2, with Amanda Esposito scoring on a one-timer from Bobby O’Reilly. Squornshelous regained a five goal advantage in the last minute of play, Yoda finishing off the hat trick on a breakaway. When the final horn sounded on Squornshelous’ 6-1 victory, both benches emptied, and those fans who stuck around for the whole thing were treated to a final donnybrook as the teams paired off and dropped the gloves.
The Ice Weasels have a bye next, followed by a Match Day 4 tilt with old friends Az-Cz, 2-0 victors over The Mushroom Kingship. This is the first meeting between teams from Az-Cz and Aurendia since the Gnomes defeated the Raptors 4-0 in the finals of Baptism of Fire 30, and both teams are expected to be fired up for this match as a result.

"Well, if my finding you wandering lost out in the suburbs fifteen minutes after we were supposed to be in the booth tonight, and as a result of that making Tim the gofer take over commentary for the first two periods counts as 'turned around a bit,' then yes, you did."
"I did just call it that."
"I know you did. So, what's our roster this go-round?"
"Bit of a surprise there, Mo. As part of the geekiness trend, we've brought in Drizzt Do'Urden as the lead winger for the Habs."
"Is that why all our fans have painted themselves purple and are wearing chainmail and waving scimitars around?"
"Yep."
"And here I thought it was all the drugs."
"Nope. Shows who really knows more than the other, now doesn't it, Mo?"
"Coming from you, Rob, I wouldn't push it too far. So how about a look at our roster?"

Greg Gilbert picked up the phone like it was a rattlesnake. He carefully held it to his ear, expecting it, or the person on the other end of the line, to lash out and bite him.
"Two losses. In a row. After the EPHC debacle." stated Rob Wallons, Hockey Kelssek's flatulent chairman.
"Well, to international-calibre competition, and by one goal."
"3-1 is a one-goal margin?"
"Empty net goal," said Gilbert, "the goalie wasn't in the net."
"Losing by one goal late in the third period and you leave the sodding net empty?"
"But every coach..."
"I've had it with your stupid excuses, Gilbert! Every coach leaves the net empty! Every coach chews gum! Every coach stands behind the bench! Every coach yells at his players! Every coach tells his players to just shoot the puck into the offensive zone... 'Dump', in your pretend language! I've had it with your cavalier attitude, Gilbert!"
Greg Gilbert, however, knew that Hockey Kelssek had just spent all its money on upgrading 5,000 zambonis with spoilers and cool new rims, and couldn't afford to sack him. So he put the receiver on the hotel's bedside table and went to brush his teeth while Wallons sent angry screeches down the phone line.

Gnomes win 2-0, coach Kronen calls whole tournament a joke
The Gnomes faced off a The Mushroom Kingship today. The Gnomes easily won 2-0. With The Mushroom Kingship only having six players total the four lines of the Gnomes just wore them down and score two goals. The two goal scorers for the game were Sk-Ik and Dru-Ry.
The game was of relatively little interest to anyone. There were about the same number of The Mushroom Kingship fans as players and only slightly more fans came out from Az-cz.
However coach Kronen made some comments that could be defined as blistering. We feel that you need to see them for yourselves, so here they are unedited. "This tournament is a joke. Let me explain just how much of a joke it is. Our opponent today had only SIX players on their roster. No subs. For a hockey game. There are not one but TWO teams that are made up of rejects from Science Fiction conventions. And one of these teams won Six-One. And that all is truly pathetic, but what is truly exasperating about this tournament is the hosts. Any time the words 'the simple fact that I don't see the need' show up in a hosting bid you ought to be suspicious. There's a reason we supported Quakmybush's hosting bid. But what they've done is just ridiculous. Apparently in their infinite wisdom the Rorysville organizers have decided they don't want teams to get any better. Have you seen any teams training? Nope. Neither have I. Cause EVERY training facility in Rorysville is locked tight. Even teams like us and Aurendia that would like to get better can't because of the inanity of Rorysville. That's why you'll see hockey that's truly shit in this tournament. If this were the world cup the teams would range from the laughibly bad Adamica to the still pretty danged lame reanimated states. And we blame Rorysville."
Strong words from a coach. We'll see what happens in the next few days after those remarks.

AFter the 2nd game...
Captain's Log 10.31.2006
PICARD: Today we played against Oliverry, one of the founding teams of this tournement. Although we lost 5-3, Commander Data and Mr. Spock seem to have figured out this sport rather quickly, as both Scored a goal and assisted on Captain Sisco's goal. I was rather dissapointed with Mr. Worf as he continues to show little restraint on his checking. In fact he checked one Paul Hachey so hard, Mr. Hachey had to be taken off the ice on a stretcher.
Mr. Chekov played a good game as well, although his braggaddo about Russia inventing hockey was taken poorly by my fellow Frenchmen, that Mr. Chekov spent most of his time on the ice on his face.
On the other front, despite Mr's Data and Spock's research, we still ahve not yet found out if Qazox indeed does win this tourney. Until we know, there is little we can do, until our mysterious abductor reaveals it.
Our next game is against New Montreal States, another country of Frenchmen. Perhaps we have not just been transported to Earth's past, but an alternate where French is the dominate languange? There are 3 or 4 teams in our draw that are of French descent. I might have Mr. Data check on that possibility as well.

Purge the complacent bourgeoise!
LYAM OLIVER, Telegraph hockey analyst
There are all sorts of excuses for the appalling slump the Blueleafs have been on lately. The less said about the disaster in the Free Pacific States the better, but any suggestion that we were returning to the Cherry Cup with a better team and a better chance, or that the disappointment of The Regional Hockey Tournament That Shall Not Be Named would light a fire under the team was quickly eviscerated by the three straight losses.
The record is now a glittering 3 games, 3 losses and while there certainly are more games to play and there still is weaker opposition where a win can be expected, it doesn't seem likely that there'll be any topping of the 16th-place high water mark for Kelssek in the Cherry Cup.
And the reason for this is very simple. Our national team is full of "proven veterans", or put another way, complacent players on big contracts back in the KHL who don't really care if they win or lose. It would be unfair to attach that label to the few bright spots like captain Keanes or the young and eager Crawford. But by and large players like Bavarillo, Laharrague and Calderwood are just going through the motions on the ice. It's much too easy to blame the coach, though it is his fault for selecting them, he can't do his job if the players won't let him. And that's what's happening.
So what needs to be done? I think it's time for a good old-fashioned purge. Kick out the jaded and complacent bourgeoise and bring in the huddled proletariat yearning to play for their country. There's enough talent in the KHL to put together three decent national teams. But how about putting together just one?

Warsies Rolling
Squornshelous has been playing perhaps the best hockey they ever have, dominating with both physicality and skill. They totally overpowered Aurendia in their openening game, taking the contest 6-1. It was a nasty game that included four ejections, three to Aurendia's Swenson siblings and one to Darth Maul for Squornshelous. The first came after Emperor Palpatine made an easy save on a shot from Erika Swenson. If the amount of charring on his gloves is any indication, Palpatine's gear is getting in the way of his force lightning, else Swenson may have left the ice on a stretcher, rather than her own two feet.
The second Swenson left the game when he took a shot at Mace Windu before a faceoff while Mace was delivering his favorite bit of trash talking. in an after game interview, he explained what he said to piss Swenson off so much. "All I said to him was this," said Windu, "And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee." He paused. "And right as I finished up he dropped his gloves and took a swing at me."
By the time this power play wrapped up, Squornshelous was on top by a score of 3-0, thanks to goals by Yoda, Mara Jade and Wedge Antilles in that order, with the first and last coming on power plays.
Just as it seemed we would be able to get out of the first without any more extracurricular activities, Darth Maul took a stab at Steve Swenson, the last sibling left in the game. As the referee raised his hand for a delayed penalty, Swenson dropped his gloves and tackled Maul. Both players were tossed out for their part in the fight and after the intermission break, the rough stuff was mostly over. Mostly.
After a quiet second period marked only by Yoda's second goal, Aurendia finally found a way to get it past Palpatine, catching the warsies in a line change. Following the goal, a new net and framework had to be brought out after the Emperor crushed the old one into a ball in frustration. He was given a two minute minor, served by Han Solo. However, Yoda finished off the game with a third goal, and then levitated himself back to center ice waving jauntily at the Aurendia bench. Not surprisingly, when the game ended less then a minute later, neither team was particularly eager to leave the ice.
Final Score:
Squornshelous 6-1 Aurendia

Captain's Log 11.02.2006
SISKO: After the hard fought 3-2 win against New Montreal States, Commander Data, who scored two goals and Mr. Spock, who scored a goal as well, finally came up with a plan to allow us to go home, but the cost would be to allow this country of 'Qazox' to forfeit the rest of the games.
I argued that by doing so, we could inadvertently change history by allowing a team, that may have originally lost to Qazox to win, thereby causing a change that should not have happened.
As much deliberation amongst all of us, it was decide that until Qazox was eliminated from competition, we would not travel back to our times.
While disscussing our problem, Odo apprently had snuck away to do some investigating of his own. Hopefully, his abilities will help us find the mysterious voice that had brought us here.

After the 4th game...
Admiral's Log 11.02.2006
JANEWAY: Marceau State put up a good fight against us, but once again, Us Federation people proved to united, as Capt. Sisko wound up with a hat-trick, his last goal with 56 seconds left to give us a 3-2 win.
B'Lanna, Mr. Spock and Cmdr. Data are still pressuring us to use their time-jump device to get back to our own times, but after the changeling Odo found out yesterday, has given us a new problem to work on.
Odo during an intermission, found evidence that we are NOT on Earth, Circa 2006, but in fact are in a Holodeck Matrix. Unlike our holodecks, this one has no interior controls and all attempts to contact either a computer or the person running this simulation have failed.
We are now working on a device that should disrupt the matrix, however it is unknown at this time whether or not disruptting the matrix will cause ourselves to disappear as well.
So for now, we are still working on a way out of here, but it seems the only way out is to win.

The good news was that Benoit Laharrague was on a 2-game shutout streak. The bad news was that in order to preserve his luck he was taking, or at least rubbing, every single remotely round object that he could without being arrested.
The bus had nearly reached the hotel. Just then, Neville remembered that there was a cafe with a giant rotating doughnut sign on the way. Fortunately, Benoit was asleep, clutching the puck from the last game, a stack of CDs he'd seen in the garbage, a doorknob, and several beer bottle caps.
Neville walked over and drew the curtains over the window just in case.
After the 5th game...
Captain's Log 11.06.2006
ARCHER: Well despite our best efforts, we could only manage a 3-3 tie with Milchama, who is one of the favorites to win, thanks to efforts by Trip to find out more about this Holo-wazit we're in. We did finally find a way to tap into the Computer banks, Thanks again to Trip, who found a control panel behind one of our lockers. However the only thing it would tell us was the Vegas (??) lines on the matches.
Since Trip was busy elsewhere, I had to play goalie, and even though i let in 3 goals in the 1st period, we still came back thanks to Odo, who scored a hat-trick, even though i believe he shapeshfted himself into the puck on his lst goal. But the Referee couldn't prove it, so it the goal stood.
After being here in this room for over a week, there's some tension amongst us, primarily from the Klingon Worf. Every match has seen him get more and more violent on opponnents.
We are currently in 4th place, but our last two games are against, accordign to the "Vegas Line" weaker than us, but we cannot afford to let possible weaknesses give us false hope.
Hopefully if we qualify for the next round the being(s) holding us might see it fit to let us go.

Captain's Log 11.08.2006
RIKER: There is only one game left, after our 4-1 win against Lovisa. Data scored 2 goals and assisted on the other 2, both scored by Odo. We need for both Milchama and NMS to lose and for ourselves to beat Ikeea to advance.
No luck in trying to intigrate Data's positronic net witht the computer system that is running this holodeck. The system began to attack Data's internal systems, thereby making him break off the connection. Data has run full anyalses of his systems and has purged any foreign input and ia fully operational.
If we do not advance in this tourney, we still do not know what will have withor to us, as the VOICE, has been silent for over a week now.
Our device, which could send us back, has not yet been tested, but Mr. Spock, Lt. Torres, Data and Cmdr. Tucker have all given us no reason to doubt that it will work.
I'm not totally convinced that Q is not behind this, despite the earlier claims to the contrary. Hopefully after our last match, our captor will reveal him or herself to us, so that we can finally understand why we were brought here.

"Right fellas, remember, $500 or 4 liters. No idea if we're heroes or the hated, but if people back home are pissed at being eliminated this early Customs will be all over us."
As the players raided the airport for duty-free liquor, Gilbert walked up to the airport bar and took a seat.
"What'll you have?" asked the bartender.
All the money being spent on the pimpin' of the nation's zambonis had condemned them to economy class, so Gilbert asked for "something that'll put me out for the flight to Kelssek" and got it.
"TWO POINTS, TWO SODDING LITTLE POINTS" he bawled as once again as his players carried him aboard the plane and buckled his seatbelt for him. He woke up in the immigration queue in Kirkenes.

Milchama in second?!
Considering the lack of attention we have given the Mongols its been quite suprising how they have been doing. They are not only in second place but until last MD they were undefeated with 4 wins and one draw. This is incredible for a side that has always traditionally sucked and is now very under represented internationally by the Milchamian media. If they keep this up though the underrepresentation will stop and the Mongols will become much better.
Of course some have been trying to explain the success but we say the horses and since this is our paper to other explanations are allowed. With that said, "Go Mongols!"

Captain's Log 11.10.2006
CHAKOTAY: We did it, a 6-1 win over Ikeea, coupled with losses by New Montreal States and Milchama, has propelled us into the Quarterfinal ROund of this Cup. Mr. Spock scored twice, while Ensign Chekov finally score his 1st goal, as did Captains' Riker, Picard and Kirk as well.
About 5 minutes after the match, the VOICE spoke to us for the 1st time in almsot 2 weeks. Here is what the VOICE said to us:
WELL DONE, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN. YOU HAVE PERFORMED BETTER THAN I THOUGHT YOU WOULD HAVE. AS A JUST REWARD FOR QUALIFING FOR THE QUATERFINALS, I WILL ALLOW YOU ALL TO LIVE, EVEN IF YOU DO NOT WIN THE TOURNEY ITSELF. HOWEVER YOUR NEXT OPPONENTS, SQUORNSHELOUS, HAS INVITED THEIR OWN GROUP OF HEROES TO WIN. BEAT THEM AND YOU ALL WILL BE SENT HOME. THAT WILL BE ALL FOR NOW.
So apprently, this country of Squornshelous, has done something similar to our Host before in the past, and is using us to avenge it. While we are all glad that we won't die, we still don't know who exactly our Host is and what he/she will do if we don't win. Keep us here or send us back into the past again to "retry" the tourney?

MCCOY: Dammit we lost Jim. on a penalty shot with 7 seconds left that green-blooded goblin, Yoda, used what was that thing called.. a JEDI MIND TRICK to put the puck in the net, giving Sqournshelous the 2-1 win.
While here on "Earth" or rather this facimile of it, surprisingly we have not been seriously injured. Either the Safties, as that Vulcan wanna-be Data are in fact on, or we've just been extremely lucky.
We need to win our next game or else who knows what will happen to us. I have my confidence that Jim and Spock will find a way out of this, they always seem to.

A sold out capacity crowd at the Docklands Convention Centre was in for Quite a treat as Olivery and Rorysville two Hockey nations would face off in the ACCXX Finals. Rorysville a suprise of sorts had continued into the Finals after dropping the First game in the Opening and Semi-Final Rounds.
Sportsnet Broadcast for the Starting Lineups
"now lets take a look at the men of the Guilded cage for Rorysville 23 year old sensation Adam Dexter and in net for Olivery Matthieu Plouffe"
Rorysville came out Kick and Firing on all cylnders taking the game to the frenchies from olivery with the GO MOOSE GO chant echoing in the Stands Rorysville would take the early lead with a brillant play set up by T.J. Hensick.
"Hensick with the puck threads trhe neddle with a pass through two olivery players he finds Cairnes,Cairnes all alone in front shot SCOOOORRRRRRES ERIC CAIRNES WITH the goal from T.J. Hensick and Kyle Lawson"
at the end of the First Rorysville held a 1-0 lead Olivery Quickly bounced back scoring in the opening minutes of the second with a breakaway goal by Henri Frégeau. The game would then get mired in mud as the rough play took over as Trent Campbell,Maxwell Schmidt,Larry Foote,Matt Hunwick all took penalties for Rorysville and for Olivery the Parade sent Daniel Jackson,Thierry Thibodeau,Rémy Larochelle,Blake Baker Olivery took advantage of one of thier powerplays with a point shot that somehow got through Dexter.Denis Robitaille's Point Shot put Olivery ahead .The second period would end 2-1 in favor of Olivery.
The Third period would continue with a fast paced play and both teams exchanging shot Olivery really poured it on while on a 5 on 3 Power play and Dexter stood on his head holding Rorysville in the game. Rorysville would finnally get a chance as time was winding down Milan Gietz would electrify the crowd with a highlight reel goal stunning Olivery and the Crowd with the way he moved past the defenders and the way he put the puck in the net. Tieing the game. The period would end 2-2 and Overtime was comming.
IN the overtime Rorysville tryed hard to pour it on and win the game but on an unfortunate break as Marc Lokhart's Stick broke on a shot Gérard Lévesque stole the puck and went in alone and put the puck just barely past Dexter ending the game 3-2 in overtime.

That worked as Rorysville came out hard charging as the teams again got mired in penlty trouble the Moose would take advantage of a 4 minute powerplay scoring two goals with the man advantage. The period would end at 2-2 Rorysville with the momentum started tighting up defensively and the ofense sprung to life as Trent Campbell broke his scoring drought with a snapshot from the top of the circles beating Matthieu Plouffe gloveside. With the Lead Rorysville clamped down the score would stay the same till the end when Eric Cairnes netted an empty netter notching a victory and tieing the series sending it the Final and deciding game.

CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thats right the Moose have done it!.With a thrilling Victory over Olivery Rorysville Claimed the Tournament and the newly created trophy.the Tournament MVp was an unlikely one Eric Cairnes lead Rorysville in Goals throughout the entire Tournament. On to the Game
The First period was relatively eventless as the teams fought hard.Into the second that carried over and with the exception of a couple penalties it was almost eventless that is except for Adam Dexter Suffering an Injury at the 7 minute mark as Olivery's Gérard Lévesque Crashed the net and landed on Dexter Hurting his knee or at least it appeared his knee.
Scoring Summary so in came a cold Rob Shripmton to save the day.And save the day he did pulling off saves that only he can do with his acrobatic style he singlehandly took control and stopped Olivery at every chance. And then there was the Third period.Rorysville killed off a 5 on 3 to start the period and then they counter attacked with avengance and it all payed off when Eric Cairnes netted his 10th of the tournament and put Rorysville ahead by one. The game would continue at a fast and hard hitting pace and things stayed as is until Rorysville added an empty netter.
