UAFF Puts Forward Hosting Bid
Anastasianian Women's Football Needs Kickstart, Says President

United Anastasianian Football Federation President Johan Engblad said at a press conference today that the United Republics of Anastasiania will put forward a hosting bid for the sixth Women's World Cup. Anastasiania have struggled with getting a professional women's league off the ground, mainly due to lack of spectators but also due to the lack of quality players, and bringing together the world's best players in Anastasiania may show the public that women's football have something to offer.

Engblad announced that six venues in Anastasiania are to be used, and that the main round of the tournament would be capped at eight groups of four. If more nations were to sign up, a short qualifying round of home-and-away matches (maximum 8 per team) would be used, with a maximum of 16 teams making it into the main tournament. Engblad also hinted that a ranking system more similar to the official KPB system for men may be used.

Matches are likely to be held in:

Anastasianian National Stadium, Allenby: capacity 34,111. As the name says, the national stadium. Host to important World Cup qualifying matches, the annual Cup final, and domestic cricket and rugby finals. Sports eight lanes of running track, hampering intimacy.

Jyrkki Stadion, Heino: capacity 17,400. Anastasiania's third biggest stadium, host to Major League side Heino Palloseura. It also doubles as a baseball stadium on occasion. Heino is known for its fervent crowd support and strong male football team.

Shotterbury Ground, Shotterbury: capacity 22,000. Recently expanded owing to Shotterbury's place in the Major League of men's football, the Ground may not conform to all international standards (it is still not all-seater, and the entrance gates weren't expanded along with the stadium itself), but it's an intimate ground with plenty of atmosphere. It's also one of few grounds in Anastasiania without a running track.

Fuglängvallen, Fuglängen: capacity 16,373. A classic football stadium, which has languished due to Fuglängen's recent lack of success in the Anastasianian domestic leagues. However, funds have been made available by the local association should Anastasiania receive the World Cup, and a stadium expansion and refurbishment will be carried out.

Chadwick Central, Chadwick: capacity 13,200. A stadium to be used for the minor clashes, the Central lies smack in the middle of the city of Chadwick, next to the town hall. The local government has agreed to WWC matches being held there, since they reckon the women should be able to keep the ball on the ground and not blast it out of the pitch resulting in broken windows.

Launavaara Stadion, Launavaara: capacity 14,590. The Launavaara ground is nothing spectacular in itself, though its coastal location may mean that gusts of wind will play a part in the result of games. No floodlights are available at Launavaara, so matches will take place early.

The Sixth Edition of the Womens World Cup

Bid Details

Teams: At best, 32. But the Bid is set for 24 teams (6 groups of 4), 28 teams (7 groups of 4), 32 (8 groups of 4) or more (qualifiers to be determined should we surpass 32 teams).

Schedule Format:

Regardless of number of sides competing, the Group Stage competition will be expanded by utilizing more days and less matches played daily.

With 24 teams, 6 days will be used, with Groups A,B and C playing on Day 1, 3, and 5 with D,E, and F playing on Days 2,4,6.

With 28 teams, there will be 7 days used, with group G starting on Day 3 with A&B playing their second match.

With 32 teams, 8 match days, with G and H starting on Day 3 while Group A begins second matches.

No more than six games will take place a day unless we end up with an odd number. In which case, make-up games to keep the pattern will be scheduled based on the group with the extra team competing.

Knockout Stage will consist of 16 teams. The top two sides in each group will qualify with up to 4 third place teams should we not reach 32 competitiors.

Scorinator: NSFootySim, utilizing Qazox Points for rank. Chicanada will have a seperate scorinator for their group qualifying and, should they make it, Knockout stage (to be announced later).

Bonus: Yes, I'm trying a Bonus Plan to encourage more rps (even though I'm really one to talk). Teams get .25 bonus permanently for posting a roster (person, position, age, team played for) and can get up to .5 bump if they spend time making it all pretty and detailed, like some do.

Teams also get a .25 for rp'ing results from their match. A .25 bump is eligible for rp'ing after the draw. Now, I'm not expecting sheer brilliance but I also don't expect crap. So if you can do something between that, we golden (see most rps from WC5 as proof of what works for bonus). The bonus for rps are rolling for two matches, so you can have an additional .5 added to your Qazox Rank going into matches, but no more than 1 full point bonus at any one time (.5 for detailed roster, .5 for two rps.) With the bid presenting two days for rp'ing results, spaming rs to get bonus will negate, as it's more of a "Did you rp" not a "did they constantly." So one rp over the two day eligibility for your team is fine. More just means you extra excited, but it will be viewed as 1 rp alltogether.
