Newly elected Californian President Jennifer Angeline Jourgensen has began her surprisingly different foreign policy towards the United States of America by ceding three states heavily guarded by the Californian Federation since they fell into her sphere in 2011. In this bold gesture, the Californian Federated Empire will cede Texas, Arkansas and Kansas in return for the American States of East Montana and Nebraska and American assistance in the occupation and annexation of the nation of Cuba which recently has been indicted by the Californian Parliament on conspiring with international terrorists and aiding them in their efforts to spread terror through the Californian Federation through the terrorist attacks which destroyed the Capital building, both houses of the Californian Parliament, the and the General Assembly building and other buildings that comprised the Californian Federation's Government Plaza Complex.

California's President issued a statement earlier in the year which called for all military personnel in those states to be relocated along with all of the military equipment, weapons and technologies that were housed in the several hundred military installations throughout those states. Later last year we witnessed the largest military withdrawal ever seen since World War III with the Soviet-Balkanian withdrawal from Western Europe following the Cologne Treaty of 2024.

At the stroke of midnight tonight, those three states will revert to the United States of America, and the ftwo American states of East Montana and Nebraska will revert to the Californian Federated Empire. Also, more important, at the stroke of midnight a two-hundred and sixty year cold war will end between these two nations opening up new diplomatic relations between these two for the first time in centuries.

As of this time negotiations are still in the process for the Californian Federation to acquire the Dakotas from the United States.

Californian President Jennifer Jourgensen wasn't happy, and neither were both houses of the Californian Parliament. After seemingly securing a deal with the United States to trade Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana for Nebraska, the eastern portion of Montana controlled by American forces, and for American assistance in the invasion and annexation of Cuba as a means to end the 261 years and going Californian-American Cold War between the two nations, the Californian President, the Parliament, and the people of the Californian Federation figured that the United States of America wouldn't turn a deal like this one down for anything. So it came as a surprise when after making negotiations and preparing for the deal to take place setting a timetable for Californian troops and hardware to be removed from the involved Californian States to be traded to the United States that the Americans weren't taking the deal.

However, after painstakingly crafting and considering the treaty for the territorial trade-off the Californian government was breathing a sigh of relief believing this problem between them and the United States to be coming to a close. Now, as it seems the only side of this negotiation which seems unwilling to accept the conditions of the deal and end a embittered cold war between them is not California, but in fact the United States of America itself.

As the negotiations and the trade-off have completely ground to a halt, the Californian President issued a statement today to the President of the United States, Jennifer Aracelis. President Jourgensen was filmed on DVP Screens across the country with her statement as saying "President Aracelis, I urge you to consider your position on this negotiation. For the last two-hundred and sixty years you have dictated the terms for the end of this cold war between us, and now that we have finally come around to make some agreements towards the ending of this rivalry and mistrust between us you and your government refuse to agree on the terms you yourself have negotiated? Such displays of procrastination on your part will not be endured by us. When you say you are going to do something, please be sure to live up to your words and do as you say. Until you can show us that you want to take the steps toward diplomacy between our two nations and agree to the negotiations you have set the terms for, then the Californian Federation has no course but to send its forces back into the states of Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas and to have our troops that are acting as peacekeepers in the states of Nebraska and East Montana hold their positions until you or your government can make some agreements to this negotiation and make steps towards ending this cold war between us."

So now burns the question of what events will come in the next weeks between the governments of California and the United States. Will their bitter Cold War end, or will we see a flare up of conflicts between the two nations again?
