Vilita and The Lowland Clans would like to welcome all of you to the 31st edition of the NationStates World Cup. As a proud veteran myself, it is truly an honour to finally be able to host one myself. I will endeavor my best to make this an enjoyable cup for all to participate in, and I hope all you participants will as well. To get a couple of scheduling things out of the way, the WCxXxI draw will be held upong the conclusion of the Baptism of Fire and the releasing of new rankings including their performance. Matchday 1 will follow TWO DAYS later, allowing plenty of time for people to write up about the opposition, then each matchday will follow approx. 24 hours after the last.
If anyone has any questions, just telegram me or Vilita through Nationstates.
God bless and enjoy your World Cup experience!

Manager
Michael Revtron
Age: 17,246
Fortendale's handpicked replacement, he has been studying for years under Florintine's hand. Is more defensive minded than his mentor, but that has not proved any harm to the team, as their defense continues to improve. Now with Florintine gone, he has been promoted officially by the ESC.
Assistant Manager
Dwier Titenburg
Age: 1282
After a great career in both domestic and international play, the ESC decided to approach the elf for the job of assistant manager. After weighing his options, he gladly accepted in helping improve his countries favorite sport.
Goalie
0 Martin St. Louis, Raynor City Rockers
Age: 1310
St. Louis is quite strange. He is not tall like most keeps, and he likes to roam around the box far more than average goalies. However for all is reckless and unorthodox play, he is clutch when it comes down to pressure situations.
Defenders
23 Clint Centron, Baysleef Bombers
Age - 1192
A good enough defender to have the edge over the other competitors trying to take Titenburg's vacated spot, but he might cause problems. For all his talent, he doesn't always bring the effort to the table and help his team. Revtron has vowed that those days are behind him, but we shall have to wait and see.
18 Liliam Kries, Gladerial Twilight
Age - 1249
A solid force in the back, who uses her great footwork and patience to frustrate strikers all throughout the match. Was the first woman to win defender of the year, and looks to continue on her excelent play in the international scene from tournaments past.
43 Gabriel Florez, Char Sara Inferno
Age - 1123
Has worked her way from the very bottom, being a walk on player at Hondo, to the Premiership and national team. She has the can do attitude that was missing last tournament and her expierence of climbing the ranks has toughened her into a well respected member of the locker room.
13 Placibus Hardsworth, Char Sara Inferno
Age - 1146
Placibus is the strong and quiet one on the back line. He comes to the pitch day in, day out, and does what is expected of him without complaint. He will venture up field during prolonged attacks and on set pieces. Has been working on his staminia during the last year to help solidify his position.
Midfield
9 Marsha Stone, S.C. Vagrant Hills (Assegai)
Age - 1149
She is the midfield general and everyone on the team respects her play and personality as one, if not the, best on the team. Quick feet and thinking are just some of her great gifts. Had to overcome a nasty ankle injury in the last year, and it has yet to be seen it has affected her play.
22 Rick Cuellar, S.C. Vagrant Hills (Assegai)
Age: 1045
Rick is the playmaker in the midfield, with the uncanny ability to see plays developing before they happen. This leads to many assists for the youngster, and also the thanks of his strikers. WIth Revtron taking the reigns and Tobias joining the squad, his hopes of making the forward spot are slim for the next few tournaments, but he continues to work on his striking skills to capitalize when the chance occurs.
24 Harden Swent, Assegai Developments FC
Age: 1061
Harden is a striker born and raised, but due to the other stars on the team, has to settle with playing from the midfield. His frustration in this sometimes relates to poor play on the pitch.
Forwards
28 Tobias Raynor, Char Sara Inferno
Age - 1283
With peace being rather dull to the Great Leader, he has been working with his personal trainer over the past few months relgiously. Finnaly thinking he is up to snub, he tried out for the the team when Revtron took over and easily won the job. It's been rumored that he has the skills to be a great superstatr, but without playing in any league, how will he play in the international stage. Only time will tell if this was a wise course for the Patriarch.
7 Kyla Night, Gladerial Twilight
Age - 1082
The "Devil's Kiss" looks to torment defenders much like she does in every competition. Already the leading goal scorer in ESF history, she will look to add onto her already amazing resume. She will likely be guarded by the best defender by the opposition throughout the ESF' run. Her resume includes 63 goals in 87 caps.
8 Zacharius ©, Raynor City Rockers
Age - 1193
A great striker in his own right, vision to see plays devloping, and a master of the header. When paired with Night, he tends to get free and into excellent scoring positions, either putting them away or finding a teammate in a better spot.

Anastasiania
09-10-2006, 07:52
Goalkeepers:
1. Marcus Staaf, Andval, age 21, av rating 4.95
The best goalkeeping talent in Anastasiania, Staaf kept excellently for Andval in the Liga last season, saving their shoddy defence from conceding more than 29 goals in 22 games.
12.Kimmo Kivimäki, Lynnyvaara, age 23, av rating 4.84
Kivimäki represented Anastasiania at junior level, but has not quite developed, and is still rather error-prone. Can make stunning saves, however.
23.Mika Leino, Heino, age 21, av rating 4.81
Leino is a solid and unspectacular back man for league winners Heino - made a number of crucial saves last season, however, as Heino only lost one of 22 games.
Defenders:
2. Petri Rönkkö, Lynnyvaara, age 18, left back, av rating 5.09
Rönkkö is a huge talent, a left back with genuine technique and flair rarely seen in the poor Anastasianian leagues. The 18-year-old has been training with Lynnyvaara since he turned 14, and has already racked up 46 top-level appearances.
3. Mika Grönroos, Heino, age 30, right back/right winger, av rating 4.85
A veteran who stops everyone and everything - including an incoming referee waiting to give him a yellow card. Voted "most likely to spend time behind bars" at Jönnö High School - but professional football has saved him somewhat, and instead Grönroos has earned a whole deck of cards during his tenure with Heino.
4. Jani Pietilä, Lynnyvaara, age 25, central defender/defensive midfielder, av rating 4.86
Pietilä is another rock-solid central defender, with no pretensions of being able to play anything but the long hump. It gave him three assists last season, due to Juha Salo's excellent running.
5. Mika Koivisto, Lynnyvaara, age 30, central defender/left back, av rating 4.98
An experienced defender who forms the other half of Lynnyvaara's central defence pairing, and another one with a taste for the long hump. However, his tackling skills are second to none.
13.Jason Edwards, Teybridge Athletic, age 31, left wingback, av rating 5.15
Edwards is a veteran of Anastasianian football, but also a rarity - the Streetian third of the population has struggled at football recently, with only Edwards waving the flag high. He keeps Rönkkö out of the side for the time being.
15.Jamie Moore, Chadwick, age 21, right back/central defender, av rating 4.74
Moore is not the best defender in the land, but one of the best right backs, a position where Anastasiania struggles even by their standards. Useful technical skills, but usually fails to impress defending against good left wingers.
19.Keith Harrison, Bunbury City, age 30, central defender, av rating 4.76
Harrison made a career move to Bunbury when they promoted from Division One last year, having played most of his time making clearing headers for Shotterbury. As a result, both sides were relegated - City lacked class anyway, though Harrison's last gasp intrusions saved at least four goals during the season.
Midfielders:
6. Tuomo Moilanen, Heino, age 23, defensive midfielder, av rating 5.11
A midfielder with excellent vision, Moilanen is the player Anastasiania relies on to make the crucial through balls. He lacks somewhat in first touch, which is rarely shown up in Liga All-Anastasiania, but may be a crucial disadvantage at international level.
7. Mika Ollikainen, Määtelinna, age 25, defensive midfielder, av rating 4.86
Ollikainen is really a central defender who plays a little bit more forward on the pitch, but his strength is still to clear the ball away from incoming attackers. It may come in useful if Anastasiania were to take the lead against a good side.
8. Antti Johansson, Launavaara, age 22, right winger, av rating 5.15
Johansson has created plenty of goals for Launavaara almost single-handedly, despite only putting three last year - his crosses are usually tap-ins for their young, thankful strikers Hapala and Nykänen. Useful with the ball in his legs, but needs to get to it first.
10.Magnus Amin, Olsö, age 22, attacking midfielder/winger, av rating 5.01
Amin has been shuffled out on the left due to the lack of a truly attacking winger - he usually plays in the slot behind the strikers for Olsö. Among his assets are a fine first touch and a high work rate, but when the strikers cry out for the crucial through ball, Amin can often be found trying to nutmeg a defender.
14.Jan Rosén, Olsö, age 27, left winger/wingback, av rating 4.95
Rosén is really a left back shuffled up the pitch due to the paucity of left backs in the realms - admittedly one who actually can play at left wing. He has both defensive and attacking skills, but neither in abundance, as his development was stunted by injuries.
18.Mikael Eliasson, Olsö, age 29, attacking midfielder/right winger, av rating 4.91
A winger of some note, Eliasson set up plenty of goals for Olsö this season, but has a worrying tendency to turn invisible in big games due to good marking. Never wins a duel for the ball, except possibly against keepers.
20.Mikko Leppänen, Heino, age 25, attacking midfielder, av rating 4.95
A creative midfielder who partners Moilanen with considerable success both for Heino and the national team, Leppänen should be a mainstay of the side if injuries permit. He's arguably the best passer of the ball in Anastasiania, though struggles with putting the ball on target if given a good scoring opportunity.
21.Tom Chapman, Chadwick, age 22, defensive midfielder, av rating 4.89
There were whispers that Chapman was put in to fill the Streetian quota after he was capped in a recent friendly fixture with Tezikstan; however, Chapman fulfilled his job well, and is a talented young chap we might hear more from if Chadwick survive in the Liga for another couple of seasons. Currently lacks somewhat in physique, however.
Attackers:
9. Marko Nyberg, Heino, age 22, striker, av rating 5.23
Nyberg won the golden boot last season with 16 goals in 22 matches, and also scored the winning goal in the last cup final with the crucial 2-1 strike over little-fancied Gardwick Albion. Usually, everyone - including Nyberg himself and the opposition goalkeeper - knows a second beforehand that Nyberg is going to score, as it's simply a matter of giving him the ball within 11 yards of the goal.
11.Juha Salo, Lynnyvaara, age 18, striker, av rating 5.01
Another fine goalscoring talent, Salo was top scorer for Lynnyvaara last year while completing his final exams at the local school. He is expected to enjoy a long and fruitful professional career, and has stated that his main aim is to win titles - as such, he may not stay long at Lynnyvaara, a club whose main achievement is their Meistaruuliiga title three years ago.
16.Michael Phillips, Teybridge Athletic, age 23, forward/right winger, av rating 4.86
Phillips doesn't produce too many goals, but they are lovely to watch when he does, usually involving a couple of nutmegs and a cheeky lob or a blistering shot. A magnificent technical player, but too often he just can't be bothered, as was shown in last season's league - Teybridge struggled at the foot of the table, requiring a point to survive, when suddenly Phillips put forth one of those goals to equalise. His undoubtable talent has never flourished in the week-to-week league game - maybe the international game, however, will give him a chance to shine.
17.Jonas Söderström, Olsö, age 18, forward/left winger, av rating 4.89
Another talent, and a key man to Olsö's success last season, Söderström won the attention of the national media after a 35-yard strike to clinch a 2-1 victory over Heino. The clamoring for his place in the national side grew after he finished the season with 11 goals, and he was rewarded with a squad call-up eventually. However, he will need a couple more seasons to truly challenge Nyberg and Salo.
22.Mika Kuusisto, Määtelinna, age 24, striker, av rating 4.96
Kuusisto is a consistent striker who usually finds the net, but with little flair or technical expertise. He is mentally strong - with Määtelinna 3-2 down in a cup penalty shoot-out, he coolly slotted the fourth penalty (only for Juha Vuorinen to miss the fifth) - which may help him adapt to the international game, but has no obvious technical skills.
First XI: Staaf - Edwards, Pietilä, Koivisto, Grönroos - Johansson, Leppänen, Moilanen, Amin - Nyberg, Salo
Kits: Home: Dark blue shirt with yellow edges, white shorts. Away: White shirt, yellow shorts.

3-2-3-2 formation. (-2) modifier
Coach- Adam Billington age 48 Coach Billington, led Tynelia to its best ever showing in the WC30 and reached the final eight of the CoH, both finishes far better than any past Tynelian squad has done. Billington has promised fans that this time around the team will qualify for the WC proper for the first time ever and now must see if the team can live up to his lofty proclamations.
Formation
………….Masterson…………………….MacDougal
Samson…………………Collins……………………….Thompson
………………Landers………………………Willis
Vhalis…………………...Li…………………………Stossels
……………………..Michaels…………………………….
G- Jim Michaels (29- starter) originally brought in as a gesture for a last minute substitution during the DI four years ago, Michaels shocked everyone but putting up four shutouts in WC play to gain the starting role after the retirementment of long time keeper Amy Whiteworth.
G- Tom Gordman (25- reserve) Touted as the next Valdimar Malloy, Gordman had the bad luck to have Michaels come out of nowhere to take over as lead keeper. Unlike the last Cup however. Billington has stated that Gordman will be mixed into the rotation this time around to keep Michaels’ fresh.
F- Jay Masterson (38-starter) Masterson set a Tynelian record scoring 11 goals in the last WC. Showing no signs of slowing down Masterson went on to participate in the post group play legends penalty kick shootout and reached the final five as it seems Tynelia’s all time leading scorer may very well play until he’s 50. A surprise return here after what many throught was a career ending ankle injury two years back, Masterson has gotten back in shape with a vengeance as he continues his quest to finally play in a World Cup match. Billington has said that Masterson will be getting plenty of rest this Cup implying some early second half substuitions for the scoring legend.
F- Anya Collins- (33- starter) Collins has announced this is her final WC try planning to start a family once her career ends. Her marriage last year broke the hearts of teenaged tynelian’s around the country. Still the more calmer of the Collins siblings is always a threat to attack from anywhere.
F- Alan MacDougal- (32- starter) The brother of Tynelian Olympian speed skating bronze medalist Ginny MacDougal, is now the two time defending MVP of the league firmly taking over the top scoring title from Jay Masterson though the vet jokes that MacDougal only did it because Masterson broke his ankle two years ago.
F- Greg Samson (24- starter) Samson is blossoming into a force on the field with an impressive +15 goal differential this season. A top ten scorer Samson was second in the league in assist this season. He expected to play a much larger role this Cup due to his superior youth and endurance over some of the veterans.
F-Mia Thompson (23-starter) Now in her fourth season Thompson has established herself as one of the best passers in the league and led everyone In assists. While barely breaking the top 20 in scoring, Thompson’s game is only expected to improve in that area in the next few years but is not to be overlooked on the attack.
F- Bill Jakes (20- reserve) This year’s rookie of the year made the top ten in scoring though his assist totals are low due to his aggressive style. His inclusion on the team seems to agree with Billington’s strategy and most feel he is Masterson’s designated substation as he has the best scoring touch of the reserves.
F- Alan Dawson (24-reserve) Dawson has steadily improved as a passer the past two seasons and was good enough to earn a spot on this year’s team. A solid +9 goal differential edge was in part due to feeding Alan MacDougal all year as teammates in league play. MacDougal was pleased to hear his teammate made the team.
F/M- Gina Garret (23-reserve) Garret is a solid all round player who’s versiltility is her greatest asset. Spending about equal time at the forward’s spot and midfield, Garret was bumped to forward here due to the need to keep the older veterans fresh. Top twenty in both goals and assist this season Garret should be a steady presence wherever she is on the field.
M- Randy Willis (23- starter) After seeing playtime in a handful of games during the World Cup and Cup of Harmony, Willis has improved his game to the point of winning the starter’s job outright this time around. Still an aggressive ballhawk on the defensive side, Willis has improved his passing a great deal since the last Cup and made it into the top fifteen in assists this season and just missed the top twenty in scoring.
M- Debbie Landers- (21-starter) A second year player, Landers impressed many with her cool demeanor on the field and how she has shown remarkable poise for one so young. A skilled defender, she was bumped up to midfield to take advantage of her youth as she was always around the ball which hurt her play as a defender. Now free to run all over the place Landers hopes to continue the tradition of Tynelia’s strong defensive play from their middies.
M- Donna Kent (37-reserve) Making her final WC appearance, Kent has taken a step back to let the younger legs do all the running around. Expected to be brought in as a defensive replacement later in the game, Kent’s passing skills and more defensive style of play does make her the perfect person to bring in to launch long counterattacks. She still managed a healthy +5 goal differential this year despite playing on a second to last placed team this season.
M- Penny Jones (28- reserve) Jones has been shifted to a pure midfielder’s role after moving around between forward and midfield in her early career. While more offensive minded than a typical midfielder Jones still manages to keep the play in front of her and is tough to beat one on one.
D- Jane Stossels (21-starter) The next generation of the Stossels defensive gene pool makes her first ever starting appearance in World Cup play after playing in a few matches in WC30 as a reserve with her father. Her maturation as a defender has grown a great deal the past few seasons and she finished third in the Defensive player of the year award voting this season. Most feel she is the favorite to take the title next season.
D-Tal Li (34-starter) Li is the last member standing of the so called “Team Supreme” defensive unit of world cups past with the retirements of John Stossels, Karl Jacobs and Bonnie Davis. He is expected to use his experience to bring together a new defensive unit to try and maintain Tynelia’s growing reputation as one of the stingiest defenses in the world. Li has been quiet as to whether or not this is his final Cup.
D- Alexander Vhalis (26-starter) Vhalis has been a steady player for over five years before stepping it up to the next level this season winning the Defensive player of the year award and leading the league in steals. The source of his newfound ability seems to be that his coaches have finally gotten hi to be more aggressive on the field rather than wait and react as he did in the past. Once fearful of making mistakes to give up a goal, Vhalis has gotten past that now and trusts his teammates’ abilities to back him up as he attacks the ballhandler.
D- Kim Anderson (26-reserve) Anderson had some early season injuries which brought down her numbers for the year and is no doubt why she was left out of the starting rotation here as it was only in the last few weeks of league play where she seemed to be playing up to her expected level again. This is a bonus for Billington though as he has arguably four players who could start on most teams all in the same lineup so he can very easily swap them out and not suffer any loss in defensive cohesion or ability.
D/G- Brian Barns (22-reserve) Barns is thought of as an afterthought by some considering the other four members of the defensive unit gathered here and that should not be the case. Barns actually began his career as a keeper for three seasons but was moved to defense last year because of injuries. Surprisingly Barns did well in his new position with a +5 goal difference and when the injured players returned Barns was kept on the field as his backup turned out to be exceptional in net as well. With that in mind Billington named him to the team so he would not have to add a third keeper to the team at the expense of a position player. With the foursome in front of him, Barns isn’t expected to see much time on the field but is a nice option to have on the bench.

Raging Penguins
10-10-2006, 02:36
An uncharted island in the vauge vicinity of an unnamed ocean
Derrick Snaddly looked around. His old lair was in shambles. The penguin-altering and cloning labs had been ransacked, the weapon storehouse had every indication that Irritated and Devious Penguin had been there at least three times, and his office had been torched, probably in a some wild party hosted and occupied exclusiely by Wild Penguin and ABSOLUT LUNATIC in some point in their careers.
Snaddly, the last player left of The Team, put his old, ill-fitting, dirty, alchohal stained, and shredded kit on over his crisp dark suit. He felt the old thrill of football stirring in his bones. He smelled the smell of gun-smoke, felt the heavy vibrations of the big guns in the goalie box, heard the agonised screams of unsuspecting opponents as he showed them offers they could not refuse and prices they could not beat.
He would go to the World Cup, and fight a proper game of football! He, the most feared and infamous door-to-door salesman known to man, would make the sales, the calls, the saves, the goals. He would do it alone, if that's what it came to. He would not go back to the Aslyum. No. NO. NO!
"Squeeearrk?"
Derrick Snaddly looked around. Near his feet, a small, old, ragged penguin of the raging kind looked at him, with a decidedly calm expression on its beaky face. Upon its head, it wore a browning headband, and around its neck, on a thin chain, was a small, plain, metal disk, tarnished, but not rusty.
"How did you get out of your cage? Did those foolish Test-Tube siblings of yours let you out?"
"Squeearrki-Quaark. Quaeerki."
"I see. In that case, you shall come with me, and be my teammate. You shall be the left flank, I shall be the right. We shall bring devestation, death, rubble, terror, and excellent prices to our opponents. We are now...
...The Team."
The Team:
Strikers: Derrick Snaddly, Deadly Penguin
Midfielders: Derrick Snaddly, Deadly Penguin
Defenders: Derrick Snaddly, Deadly Penguin
Keeper: Derrick Snaddly (replacement: random spectator from the stands)
Derrick Snaddly is a fearsome Door-to-door salesman. Kicked off The Team for being too good at hurting other teams(and thus too good at helping The Team), he has been locked up in a secure asylum for the dangerously unstable, until during the last Cup of Harmony, in which The Team came dangerously close to winning, he was freed by a mysterious band of masked penguins wielding guns after the real Team had been jailed by a policeman on charges of conspiracy to win The Cup of Harmony and bring about a title for Raging Penguins - which amounts to treason of the worst kind. Now, on the loose, he has returned to The Team and has his salesmen outfit ready to go, and briefcase filled with highly dangerous explosives, dangerously well-priced deals, and an excellent sales-pitch.
Deadly Penguin - the newest addition to The Team, Deadly is one of the oldest of the Snaddly Brand of test-tube penguins, being senior to all other test-tube penguins save the three twins, Failed Penguin 1, Failed Penguin 2, and Failed Fetus Penguin. Trained in various obscure martial arts, and sporting a Black Beak in the penguin art of Mas-Skillin', he is aptly named. He is probably more dangerous than the late Irritated Penguin and the still un-executed Darling Sweetie combined, and not only because Irritated Penguin is rotting in an unmarked grave, having been neutralized.

Here is the Az-cz roster for World Cup xXxI:
Federation name: Az-Cz football Federation
Team Nicknames: Gnomes, Adventurers, Robbers, Pinkos
Team Colors: Pink and Green
Roster:
Coach: Caine Hawdon, Bazalonia
Former Coach of the Bazalonian National team, played an integral part in
establishing the early days of Bazalonian soccer and helped push them to the
heights they are at now
Special Advisor: Khim Azanulbizarn
Under Khim, Starblaydia made it through to the Last-sixteen from World Cups
25 to 30, finshing First, Second and Third in his time there, as well as
advancing to the Second Round and Quarter-Finals. His most recent performance
was a second place finish losing to Bedistan after an winning every match
preceeding the finals.
Forwards:
#9 - Stanleyinho
Height: 6'6"
Weight: 180 lbs
Club Team: Red Dwarf Rangers
Age: 26
Stanleyinho and his brother Hubertino are not native Az-Czzers but both have immigrated from Brazil at a young age. Az-cz disapproves of hired hands
playing for the national team but as the boys are long time citizens there is
no problem. Along with being non native Az-czzers they are the two tallest
players on the team. Stanleyinho is a wonderful striker. His ability to beat
defenders is his strongest attribute. He has blazing speed and an ability to
go around other players is hard to stop. He does have good heading abilities,
but they aren't as strong as might be expected for someone of his height
because there aren't many players in the -League who can match up for him in terms of height. His shot is also quite impressive as he can generally pick
out where the ball is going to go. He rarely bombs them over the net like
many players do. Was a key part of the Baptism of Fire championship and the
Az-cz run to the second round of the Cup of Harmony.
#19 - Bub-Rub
Height: 4'11"
Weight: 155 lbs
Club Team: Vertigo Slimes
Age: 29
While Stanleyinho is the star non Az-czzer striker in the -League Bub-Rub is
the star Az-czzer. The contrast of styles between these two players is
suprisingly small considering the physical differences. Bub-Rub is both
stronger and faster than Stanleyinho, which is hard to believe. Like most Az
-Czid athletes he has learned to use his awesome athleticism to make up for
his lack of height. The native danger sense that Az-czzers have makes him
even more dangerous. More so than most Bub-Rub has tuned into this ability,
which allows him to know when to shoot and when to pass so as to avoid
tackles and blockers. Was a starting member of the Az-cz Baptism of Fire
championship team.
#15 - Ox-Rx
Height: 5'5"
Weight: 185 lbs
Club Team: Golem Golems
Age: 30
Seemingly matched with his club Ox-Rx is one of the two strikers on the Az-
czid national team from the Golem Golems. Quite large for an Az-czzer he puts
his size to good use in league player. He is usally able to outmuscle most
players to get to the ball and blast his shots past the keeper. He isn't as
fast as either of the two star forwards but his speed is still quite good.
#14 - Uz-Gz
Height: 5'2"
Weight: 130 lbs
Club Team: Golem Golems
Age: 24
The interplay between Uz-Gz and Ox-Rx is quite an interesting one. While Ox-
Rx uses his strength to win possession Uz-Gz is the master of the counter
attack. He doesn't have the strength to win challenges that Ox-Rx does but h
e is a master with the ball at his feet. He is the strongest dribbler on the
team and in the open field is almost impossible to stop.
Midfielders:
#7 - Zax-Im
Height: 5'4"
Weight: 145 lbs
Club Team: Yang Knights
Age: 31
Zax-im is the captain of both the club powerhouse Yang Knights and the Az-Cz national squad. He is most of the time a defensive midfielder. It is often
his responsibility to mark the other teams best player, especially if that
player is also a midfielder. He has a great persona that the other players on
the team really relate to and is able to rally the team in any situation.
While he is mostly a defending midfielder teams that fall asleep on him on
the offensive end of the pitch can suffer greatly. He was captain of the Az-
cz team that won the Baptism of Fire.
#10 - Pizelkaxrovsky
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 170 lbs
Club Team: Burlock Jesters
Age: 25
Upon meeting Pizelkaxrovsky many people assume that he is not an ethnic Az-czzer. Many things about him are unorthodox, to be sure, but he is an Az-
czzer through and through. Coming from a family that eschewed social
conventions he has an interesting perspective on things. His name, far from
Az-czid standards and without the almost entirely prevalent hyphen, is just
one way in which he shows this oddness. He is also the most free wheeling and joking member of the Az-cz squad. He is the perfect face of a team called the Jesters. Usually this is an advantage but of the Az-Cz players he is the one most likely to do something outrageous in a game and get sent off. He has been ejected from games for things such as delay of games after excessive celebrations or sexual harassment of a Yang Knights fan in the middle of a game the Jesters were losing in the Shangri-la Cup. As for his play on the pitch Pizelkaxrovsky is a master creator. His vision is supreme in the -
League and he led the league in assists despite playing with two rather
average strikers on the Jesters. More so than even Bub-Rub he has honed his
extra senses and never seems to make a wrong decision. He is also the
freekick taker for the team and has a dazzling ability to place the ball
where it needs to go. He was the Golden Ball winner for best player in the
Baptism of Fire and advanced to the finals of the Legend Free Kick
competition during WCxXx. He is far and away the most talented Az-czzer and rivals the abilities of any player anywhere.
#8 - Hubertino
Height: 6'5"
Weight: 200 lbs
Age: 28
Club Team: Yang Knights
While his brother honed his skills as a goal poacher Hubertino learned to
play a much more balanced game. Hubertino is an all-around excellent player.
Hubertino can comfortably play anywhere in the midfield but most of his time
is spent in the defensive half of the midfield. Combined with Zax-im they
give the Yang Knights an incredibly strong defensive midfield, such that some
teams struggle even to get the ball to the back third of the Yang field, much
less scoring. His positioning and stamina makes it seem that he's always in
the right place, whether to make a saving tackle, corrale a looseball, or
recieve a pass.
#11 - Kn-Dg
Height: 5'4"
Weight: 140 lbs
Age: 19
Club Team: Yak Clerics
Kn-dg is rapidly developing and pushing the Yak Clerics towards previously
unreached heights at the top of the -League table. He mostly plays on the
wing using his speed to flash down the side to set up plays for the other
players or to find goals for himself. He is an incredible athlete and his skills are improving all the time. Already a star he could be the best player in -League in a few seasons. Even despite his relative youth, he's already earned the job as the main corner taker, quite an honor and a responsibility for someone so young. He was the leading scorer in the Baptism of Fire and is truly one of the best footballers in Az-cz. After Pizelkaxrovsky, he has been the second most impressive player in Az-czid football.
#16 - James Levesque
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 210 lbs
Club Team: Yak Clerics
Age: 18
Kn-Dg's strike partner and the son of former coach Roger Levesque, James
Levesque is a brilliant attacking player. He also has good size which can
cause considerable problems for the players around. That attacking pair is
setting the -League on fire and look to do the same in the world cup. With
his experience in the Cup of Harmony and a little bit in the last world cup
qualifying, Levesque seems to be much more comfortable playing at an
international level.
#12 - Bn-Dg
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 155 lbs
Age: 30
Club Team: Yang Knights
He's got a cannon shot and a good eye for the goal. He is a midfielder and
has decent tackling and marking abilities, but he is definitely offensive
minded. He led the champions in goals playing from the midfield and there are
times when he functions as almost a third striker. Bn-Dg was a starting
midfielder on the Baptism of Fire championship team, although he has lost his
starting job for the upcoming tournament.
#13 - Lo-Ro
Height: 5'3"
Weight: 125 lbs
Age: 27
Club Team: Vertigo slimes
Lo-Ro is the backup defensive midfielder. He is not expected to see much
playing time as Zax-im and Hubertino are both locked in ahead of him. However if there is an injury, card, or similar situation he is ready to go in and
help slow down the attack of the other side.
17 - Ip-Gp
Height: 5'3"
Weight: 120 lbs
Age: 19
Club Team: Darzog Mages
Ip-Gp has developed tremendously from the last tournament. He is a rising
star and is expected to see much more action this time around. He is one of
the better penalty takers and might see time if such a position is needed.
#18 - Hmr-Pn
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 145 lbs
Age: 17
Club Team: Yak Clerics
Hmr-Pn came out of nowhere to make the team. He wasn't on the radar until
quite recently. He missed out on the Cup of Harmony, even though it was a
youth side. But his play in the midfield with Kn-Dg and James Levesque has
really improved greatly. He is mostly a central midfielder but can move
either direction. Like Ip-Gp last time, he's being brought along mostly for
experience, but might see some action.
Defenders:
2 - Mario Nerazzurri
Height: 6'8"
Weight: 225 lbs
Age: 25
Club Team: Red Dwarf Rangers
Nerazzuri is the third of the giant non ethnic Az-czzers on the team. He is
however, 100% Az-czid. He is a third generation Az-Czzer and he fights to the nail for his beloved Pink & Green. Nerazzuri uses his height to good form to control the box. Arial attacks are basically doomed to failure against him
and he has a good ability to sniff out other attacks as well. Generally a
rock in defense. Nerazzurri is one of the leaders of the team, having
captained the squad in the Cup of Harmony.
3 - Ns-Ta
Height: 5'2"
Weight: 125 lbs
Age: 31
Club Team: Vertigo Slimes
Similar to Bub-Rub and Stanleyinho up front, Ns-Ta is the compliment to
Nerazzuri at the back. He doesn't have the height to control the air but he
has the speed and intellect to control the ground. He can read passes and
player movement incredibly well and always seems to be in the right place to
make a tackle or block a shot. His ability to lock down other teams goal
scorers has a great ability to get under others skins. He led the -League in
fouls commited against this year, for the fifth year in a row. Just a great
defender.
4 - Ml-Dni
Height: 5'7"
Weight: 150 lbs
Age: 32
Club Team: Golem Golems
Ml-Dni is a strong force from the left back. He plays solid defense, to be
sure, but alot of time he can be seen pushing up the field to aid in the
attack. He has a wonderful stamina which helps him get around the pitch. He
also has a wonderful ability to spring counter attacks. If he disposses a
player he often has a cross launched up field well before teams are ready to
defend.
20 - Haji-Me
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 195 lbs
Club Team: Red Dwarf Rangers
Age: 17
Haji-Me is huge as Gnome players go. Already at the ripe young age of 17 he
is proving to be a strong -League defender. He is both the youngest player on
the squad and the youngest starter. He has recently been purchased by the Red Dwarf Rangers and looks to benefit from a move to a top club. Developed
greaty during the recent season and the Cup of Harmony and looks to soon be the best defender in -League. With both Ns-Ta and Ml-Dni getting up in years his youth will be a great boost to the team. He has also shown an ability to get forward into the attack, which is why he has been chosen to start on the right back.
5 - At-Zm
Height: 5'7"
Weight: 150 lbs
Age: 30
Club Team: Yang Knights
At-Zm is the alternate defender. While no one aspect of his game truly shines
like the other four defenders he has no weaknesses as well. If a center back
is needed he can play there, if a wing back is needed he can do that and if
necessary he can venture into the midfield as well. He is a solid member of
the team and is certain to see time for the Gnomes.
6 - Kz-Kz
Height: 5'5"
Weight: 144 lbs
Age: 22
Club Team: Burlock Jesters
Kz-Kz is a brutally physical defender. His technique and positioning are good
but his ability to muscle other players around is his shining technique. His
mental control has improved and continues to do so, however he still does
have some tendency to commit silly fouls and he can lose his cool from time
to time. He is not quite a main player of the team, but against physical
opponents he might get an opportunity to show his skills.
21 - Du-Tre
Height: 5'7
Weight: 160 lbs
Age: 20
Club Team: Yak Clerics
Du-Tre is part of the youth movement at Yak Clerics who look to become the
dominant team in the -League. Du-Tre is a blazing fast defender who makes
plays that can spring the attack quite well. He tends to gamble to make
things happen but can be provide a huge spark from the back line when he
makes good plays.
Goalies:
1 - Gn-Lg
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 160 lbs
Age: 26
Club Team: Yang Knights
Gn-Lg is the second tallest ethnic Az-czzer on the team. Using his height and his keen senses Gn-Lg has already risen to the top of the league. Since taking over as the number one goalkeeper for the Yang Knights he has pushed them back to the top of the league. He is incredibly unflappable and has a good sense on penalties. He even made PK saves against both Stanleyinho and Pizelkaxrovsky in the last season. He gives his entire team a sense of
comfort that even if they make up theres still a good chance they'll be able
to withstand the attack.
23 - Fr-Tld
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 140 lbs
Age: 28
Club Team: Vertigo Slimes
Fr-Tld is the second Az-Czid keeper. He is a very good keeper and should Gn-
Lg miss a game for some reason Fr-Tld will be there to step in for him.
Should benefit from chances to get more international experience in this
upcoming cup.
Bu-Lv
Height: 5'2"
Weight: 130 lbs
Club Team: Yak Clerics
Age: 24
Bu-Lv is the former understudy for Gn-Lg at Yang Knights. He is a solid young
keeper who looks to improve greatly now that he has his own team to lead, and an improving one at that, in Yak Clerics. He is the youngest of the
goalkeepers. He expects to be third keeper for a while as both Gn-Lg and Fr-
Tld should remain with the team for many years.
Formations:
The standard formation for the Az-Cz national team is 4-5-1.
The starters are Stanleyinho up front, Kn-Dg and Levesque playing very
attacking midfielders, Pizelkaxrovsky in control in the middle and Zax-Im and
Hubertino in defensive midfield positions. Ml-Dni and Haji-Me are the wing
backs who often drift into the offense and Nerazzurri and Ns-Ta lock down the middle of the defense. The team also feels comfortable using a 3-5-2, or on occassion 3-4-3 formations. Despite the formation, 4-5-1, this is not
necessarily a defensive team. Kn-Dg, Levesque and Pizelkaxrovsky all provide
great offense and the defenders can chip in as well.
Representation from the -League Professional teams:
1. Yang Knights (3/5)
2. Red Dwarf Rangers (3/3)
3. Vertigo Slimes (1/4)
4. Golem Golems (1/3)
5. Burlock Jesters (1/2)
6. Clouds Harpies
7. Yak Clerics (2/5)
8. Darzog Mages (0/1)
9. Pagoda Ninjas
10. Toad Meadow Witches
11. Nightshadow Vampires
12. Basenji Werewolves

Starblaydi WC31 Squad Announced
Fresh Manager, Fresh Ideas?
The Staff
JO. Jaime Oberlander (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/Jaime_Oberlander), Manager, 46 - World Cup 25 & 28 Winner
68 Caps, 4 Goals (14 Caps, 1 Goal at Under-21 Level)
Starblaydia's only two-time World Cup Winner, Jaime became coach of the Under-21 side immediately after the glory of World Cup 28 and takes the helm of the senior side for the first time in the wake of Khim Azanulbizarn's resignation. He is a legend, one for all squad members to look up to.
The Goalkeepers
1. Paola Mendez, GK, 34 - Huntress United - AOCAF14 Winner
43 Caps, 1 Goal (7 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 Level)
Starblaydia's first female goalkeeper, Paola is still bitterly disappointed at the two goals she let in during the World Cup 30 Final, at 34 she's still the best 'keeper in Starblaydia today.
12. Balin Grimzabar, GK, 37 - Karak Ungor Chiefs - World Cup 28 Winner, Olympic Champion
8 Caps, 0 Goals (3 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 Level)
The Dwarven goalkeeper with the thighs like tree-trunks is back once again. After the Dwarven fiasco four years ago, Oberlander has certainly kept the bumber of Dwarves in the squad to a minimum.
19. Thaddikos Kellas, GK, 26 - Basian Valley - Olympic Champion
Uncapped (6 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 Level)
A young, up-and-coming Goalkeeper originally from Nemya, expected to make at least a couple of appearances in the 'less difficult' Qualifying matches.
The Defenders
2. Christian Averette, R/CB, 28 - Hersch Albion - Olympic Champion
29 Caps, 8 Goals (8 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 Level)
A voracious attacking full-back, Averette's tally of eight goals already makes him the country's joint-highest scoring defender, a feat he shares with Herge Costa. At the peak of his career, his defensive abilities have yet to suffer from his attacking nature, as he's always got gas in the tank to drop back and cover the hole he leaves.
3. Claudio González, C/LB, 23 - Tribe Urjali - Olympic Champion
8 Caps, 1 Goal (6 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 Level)
The youngest of the starting defender, González was the only one not part of the Olympic Starting XI. He's played alongside his team-mates many a time, and is now part of one of the meanest defences in Starblaydi history. Names Oberlander as his personal role-model.
5. Stephen Adams, Captain, CB, 29 - Carter FC (Bedistan) - AOCAF14 Winner, Olympic Champion
50 Caps, 4 Goals (13 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 Level)
The one starting defender from the World Cup 30 Final defeat, Adams has taken his experiences and moulded them into a driving force for Starblaydia's future. Excellent captaincy material, also a previous Captain of the Under-21s.
6. Darijo Cravex, CB, 24 - Jhanna City - Olympic Champion
26 Caps, 5 Goals (10 Caps, 1 Goal at Under-21 Level)
Patriotism, thy name is Cravex. A future captain of Starblaydia, certainly, under the current regime, Darijo is always the one singing the national anthem the loudest. A great defender with excellent positioning, but has a nasty streak a mile wide.
13. Aleksandr Rekeseski, RB, 20 - Jhanna United
3 Caps, 0 Goals (6 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 Level)
Young and inexperienced he may be, but the tall figure of Aleks is already one to be reckoned with on a football pitch.
14. Luis Jover Navarro Ruiz, SW, 21 - Hallad Reavers
5 Caps, 1 Goal (6 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 Level)
The man they call Ruiz, despite having four names to choose between. A versatile sweeper also thrown into the centre-back position when required - this should be all the time, as Oberlander is not renowned for using the Sweeper system.
20. Magdalena Ruiz, LB, 31 - Tabeck Lightning - AOCAF14 Winner
47 Caps, 3 Goals (10 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 Level)
A woman who has been around on the international scene for a long time, Magdalena brings some much needed veteran's experience to this defensive unit, her advice from major tournaments surely invaluable to the younger players.
The Midfielders
4. Talenii Karo, D/AM, 27 - FC Farça
23 Caps, 2 Goals (7 Caps, 1 Goal at Under-21 Level)
A girl who has always seemed to be the 'next big thing' is finally 'the thing'. Though able to mix it up front and at the back, Oberlander prefers to use her talents to hold the midfield. Her tackling isn't always the toughest, but her quick feet can make the difference in most situations.
7. Rajko Dakic, LW, 25 - Internashionale - Olympic Champion
33 Caps, 6 Goals (6 Caps, 1 Goal at Under-21 Level)
Only twenty-five, but already the heart of Starblaydia's attacking intentions in midfield. His mazy runs are a joy to behold, and he can go past players like they're not even there. Also strikes a great cross and powerful shot, Rajko is the man to pull Starblaydia into any game with pure skill alone.
8. Donii, CM, 30 - FC Farça - AOCAF14 Winner, Olympic Champion
39 Caps, 6 Goals (3 Caps, 1 Goal at Under-21 Level)
Experienced at all levels of the game, Donii's creativity and passing ability are the hall-marks of his game. Often seemingly care-free with possession, rather than just careless, he can pop up even at the most unexpected of moments with something special to turn the tide of a match.
11. Matteo Prizzoni, C/RM, 29 - Vecchio Victors - AOCAF14 Winner, Olympic Champion
43 Caps, 5 Goals (10 Caps, 3 Goals at Under-21 Level)
They doubted him four years ago when it came to taking the place of Paul Noble, but a string of excellent performances earned him the respect he so truly deserves.
15. Carlos dos Santos, DM, 20 - Internashionale
1 Cap, 0 Goals (6 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 Level)
A back-up defensive midfielder was required and dos Santos was the man to provide such cover. His inexperience may count against him, but he'll surely be eased into the role by Oberlander, who has a tendancy to not chuck his players in at the deep end.
16. Nuno Volaré, AM, 23 - Montepool Waves
3 Caps, 0 Goals (7 Caps, 1 Goal at Under-21 Level)
A neat little offensive midfielder who's movement and ability on the ball is never questioned. Currently needs to take a little more care in his final pass or shot, but a real talent waiting to be unearthed lies within.
21. Marissa Cortez, C/LM, 33 - Lightbringers - World Cup 28 Winner
56 Caps, 7 Goals (10 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 Level)
Another steadfast female mother-figure in the squad who has a World Cup Winner's Medal to her name. She's always been 100% reliable on the left side of midfield and is now looking to get into coaching after World Cup 31.
22. Keztarr Mahezihim, RM, 21 - Karak Ungor Chiefs
8 Caps, 1 Goal (6 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 Level)
Young Dwarf, unexpectedly included in the team, thanks to Oberlander's non-reliance on Dwarven talent. Should be interesting to see how often he plays, and what effect he has on the team, pitch and fans.
The Forwards
9. Lawrence Asante, CF, 28 - Fareham (The Islands of Qutar) - AOCAF14 Winner, Olympic Champion
35 Caps, 15 Goals (7 Caps, 1 Goal at Under-21 Level)
Current top striker, Asante has reached the landmark figure of 15 goals for his country and is now looking to progress on to being a true great for Starblaydia. Often accused of not having a good enough touch, a developing partnership with Kaza Matranga augers well for the future.
10. Kaza Matranga, SC, 23 - Clean Sheet United (System Karela)
8 Caps, 4 Goals (6 Caps, 3 Goals at Under-21 Level)
Yes, yes, another one from the Matranga clan - that's five now. However her record of 1 goal every 2 games cannot be argued with, nor can the instant on-pitch rapport struck up between herself and Asante.
17. Julio Cruz, SC, 17 - Vecchio Victors
Uncapped (3 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 Level)
Untested, but promising, Cruz represents the far future of Starblaydi goalscoring - according to Oberlander - and if experience is the only thing he gains from this tournament, it'll all have been worth it.
18. Stracinho, SC, 20 - Corinthian Spirits
3 Caps, 0 Goals (6 Caps, 2 Goals at Under-21 Level)
Supremely confident young striker, almost (well actually all the way) to the point of being irritating. It seems nothing can take this youngster down a peg or two, but that's exactly what he'll be trying - and probably succeeding, if you listen to him - to do to the opposition
23. Janica Rocca, SC, 32 - Daii Raiders - World Cup 28 Winner
28 Caps, 7 Goals (10 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 Level)
The veteran women's striker never really proved herself to the nation, and this will be her last chance to make an impression. When a cool head will be needed up front, she'll be there.

Goalie Away: Imperial Purple all over
Stadium
Southern Island Peaks
An all seater modern stadium, retractable roof, special look is the old clock on the West bank. Capacity of 40,000, seats the colour of the national team. On the hot southern island ruled by General Jared, brother of the ruler Jude to gain him goodwill, the heat and sudden rain can be off putting. Beside a rushing river, quite a few ball boys have never returned from going in the river which is called "Catincoa death."
Manager
Seletarakeledira Hanselijimijile: Brought in over Unori Banta-N'Bai by the FA, an expirenced manager who plays System Jesejil or System Sikane. Working on his English, the former manager of Rejistania like to play a defensive counter attacking game, relying on the skilled attackers to do their thing while he sorts out a struggling defence.
Squad
Tactics: Mostly a defending side, they will push forward on the counter attack. Normally, they lump the ball forward for Lu Fei to hold up till players get forward. Willing to use the offside trap and press from front to back
Against lesser or equal teams:

Against greater teams:

LB CB CB CB RB
GK
Starting line up:
Jude Tanner- GK-26
Star player for his club, touted as Cuation's hottest talent for years.. Plays fair but can be absent minded on the pitch. Slow off his line but good shot stopper and master at penalties, he is also good at talking to his defenders. Some are starting to have doubts about his ability to become a top class keeper.
Leslie Butcher-28-LB:
Quick and eager. Likes to attack but his shots tend to be wayward. Does not like having to man mark someone as someone good with the ball can tear him apart and fairly short so lacks ability in the air. Learnt to adapt and has improved over the years but never seems to have gone as well as he would have liked
RB: Gary Cole -25
Can slot in anywhere along the back line, he is solid player at youth level but now must take the step up to the big time. Replaces his superior but now retired brother, a potential weakpoint in the defence.
CB: Swiss ""Cheese" Charag -28:
Lives with his minority tribe in the mountains, powerful on air and ground, sure on his feet. Starts in defence after a few games as a subsituaite and two as a starter. At his peak, he will need to be on top form.
CB: Ledly James- 19
A strong header of the ball, quick and very good at recovery tackles. This young talent hasn't made many first team club starts and so the press are unsure of his readyness for his level, his odd blips in concentration are a concern.
CB: Tony Irwin- 30
Drafted in for his expirence, he will have to organised the backline and be the leader. An expert at the offside trap, he will throw his body in the way of any shot, what he lacks in pace he makes up for in bravery.
LM: Shaun Downing: 23
Can't dribble, not the best at defending, refuses to go inside, but he can cross the ball well. Will hope Butcher's overlap's will provide him space to get the ball into the box, Lu Fei could benfit from this man.
Joe Fallen- 24 CM:
A trick pony. When not hogging the ball, he can be so useful to the team with his deadly balls. Too often he wastes things by keeping the ball too long. Left footed, he started on the right for the team due to Ashton's retirment for the Dragon Cup, he has moved th the centre.
On the wrong foot, he looked helpeless and greedy, not a threat to anyone. Moved into the centre and has improved a lot, able to organise play a bit more. Needs to use his right foot and to be less greedy on the ball but has enough defence ability to act as a holding player.
RM: Phil Lewish-17
For one so young, his ability is amazing, can play up front, anywhere in midfield and even in goal. His shots do have a tendancy to hit the posts but he can dribble, cross, tackle, pass, shoot, anything but head the ball. Tendancy to drift inside might be a problem, not very pacy.
ST: Lu Fei- 26:
Strong player, he is the target man. Will hold the ball up if needed and so often first to the long ball, expected to one day replace Beanpole Tanner. Has little pace but good on the ball and deadlier in front of goal then Beanpole
Will fill the role of Beanpole Tanner, he has added gretly to the team, proved himself to the new manager.
Rual Mendisez-29-striker: (dropped when playing 5-4-1)
Pacy small goalscorer. Doesn't fit in with the style of play and can not dribble or jump much but useful in the counter attack or to chase a lead. Can suffer from his own doubts and arrogance.
Cuation’s joint top goalscorer at Bof 25, he was top goal scorer with seven in the WC28, top scorer in the Cup of Harmony with six and in the Dragon Cup with four. Happy to play alongside a target man again, if he does not score, he is a waste. At his peak
Bench
Gary Jens-35-GK.
Tall, tanned, agile, good at narrowing the angle, he has many strengths. He has three flaws however: his fiery temper, crosses and being somewhat inconsistent. This man can make a fantastic save only to let a 30 yarder through his legs. Willing to sweep up behind the defence, only dropped for Cup to give Tanner expirence but has since lost his place
Def: Jaime Terry: 25
Solid player who thrives when the ball is in the air, he is just about good enough for this level but a good striker would love to play against this guy.His ability when he has the ball is erratic, Jude has still not forgiven him for his poor backpass that cost the club a derby win.
Holding Player: Scott Makaie: 27(will start in 4-5-1)
Strong in the tackle, energetic, he will cover a lot of ground during a match. He likes to play the simple pass so as to not put his team in danger. Will not let any attacking player have time to think, a great shield for a the team.
Winger: Luke "Speedy" Gonzalez: 21
Very quick winger, he will cuase fullbacks no end of trouble but his final ball can be wayward. Can seem like a headless chicken but his pace and ability to play on either flank could prove useful.
ST: Pual Keane-28:
Pacy player like Rual Mendiz. Will be looking to get in behind defences and finish any chances he gets. Perhaps too similar but makes a good sub when his pace can get him in behind tired defences.
Ropa-Topia

The Archregimancy
11-10-2006, 07:29
As most people must surely know by now, the Archregimancy is a nation of Orthodox Christian (as in Greek, Russian, Serb, Antiochian, etc....) monks.
This year, due to serious concerns over humility, pride, and the need to avoid an unmonastic cult of personality involving the nation's footballing stars, the Holy Synod of the Archregimancy has insisted that the entire squad play anonymously.
All eleven field positions and substitutes will be numbered accordingly, but no player names will be released.
The Archregimancy always plays in an orthodox 4-4-2 formation
(style - 0)
The coach remains Fr. Polycarp the Venerable, former team captain and the coach in WC30.
Team colours:
Home - Black with white trim
Away - Gilt-edged liturgical polychrome
OOC - I plan to make this player anonymity a running theme in the RP thread. While I usually strongly discourage the idea of opponents RP'ing dissent among Archregimancy players - monastic discipline and loyalty is paramount - please feel free to RP suggestions of mild disgruntlement on the part of my players as regards the total anonymity (when appropriate). My commentators may also occasionally let a name slip during match reports, though I haven't made up my mind as to the extent of this yet.
Instructions on visiting the Dreamed Realm:
1 - The Dreamed Realm (the Archregimancy's region) exists outside of ordinary reality. 48 hours before your away match, monks will arrive in your nation to construct a portal through which your team and up to 10,000 supporters may travel to the Archregimancy. They will all be housed in a guest quarter adjacent to the Dreamed Stadium. Only Orthodox Christian men are permitted to travel beyond the guest quarters, training ground and stadium.
2 - We control the nature of reality in the Dreamed Realm. This is never used to cheat - all ordinary laws of football are observed. The one side effect is that all injuries to players on either squad are immediately healed. Only tactical substitutions are necessary in the Archregimancy.
3 - Any criminal behaviour or violence on the part of away supporters will result in all away supporters being immediately transported back to ordinary reality.
4 - All home matches are preceded by our nation's national anthem - the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom. Visiting players are expected to stand for the entire approximately 2 hour duration. Be glad we don't use the Divine Liturgy of St. Basil instead.
5 - The Archregimancy national team always parades behind the Holy Icon of the Mother of God, Bringer of Victory, before all home and away matches.
This year the Dreamed Stadium will take the form of.....
The interior of Noah's Ark (80,000 capacity)
My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers: Yes, if within the spirit of the anonymity theme as described above (but feel free to be creative within that restriction).
Godmod Scoring Events: yes
RP injuries to my players: yes (as under goalscorers)
Godmod injuries to my players: Yes (as above)
Hand out Yellow cards to my players: Yes (as above)
Hand out Red cards to my players: Yes (as above)
Godmod Other Events: Yes (as above - and no religious conversions of players, please)
The Mice of Miceland
11-10-2006, 11:48
Miceland Mice Roster
4-5-1
Style: -3
The following is also a list of the team that will take part in BoF of WC30
F - Fievel ChurchMouse, a irrepresibbly bright, positive and perky individual that is always opptimistic little mice who is the mousling of the group but has shown great football talent and may just be the first mouse to get a gig in another nation. #27
M - Sickly PlagueMouse, Sickly is not a carrier of plague or any other disease he just looks like he does. #34
M - Charity Fieldmouse, a mouse that accidently got himself trapped on an international trade ship that had gone around half the world. Fievel had managed to get himself back to Miceland and it's this determination that makes him a great midfield mouse. #63
M - Stuart Littlemouse, a mouse that was an orphan who's mother died after giving birth to him and his father had put him up for adoption because he could not cope with the loss of his father. Stuart had never known a decent family until he started licing with the Littlemouses and start to channel his problems into football. Oh, and he is also the leader of the nation the First Mouse.
M - Piper FluteMouse, the musician of the team has a knack of coming up with songs that seem to fit the situaition as required. He prefers playing his flute but does sing on the occasion where his flute is missing
M - Input ComputerMouse, the technologist of the team it seems there is not a computer-based device that he cannot operate. oh, and he's also a good midfielder
D - Sightless ThirdMouse, despite being blind from birth Sightless's hearing alwayshas been at the exctent that he did not need his sight to acurrately locate the ball even without a beeper inside.
D - Nibbler FatMouse, Nibbler is slightly plump and generally is always the closest mouse to the goal keeper. Nibbler isn't technically fat but he is certainly not in as good a physical condition as the majority of the team and has the lowest stamina but he can certainly make a couple of really good head on charges and engage an enemy attacker and has the mass to be able to physically check opponents.
D - Angel BalerinaMouse, an ex-Balerina who took up football here Ballerina style, grace and agility make her a perfect defender to be in the right place at the right time to remove the steal the ball from the opposing attackers
D - Reepicheap, the only mouse in the squad that no one knows their last name. "Reep" as he as affeciately known to those who call him Reepochip to his face. Reep has a violent streak, well actually a very strong sense of honour and if he decides that you have dishonoured him then expect some very harsh treatment. This couls come on or of the field but a on-field slight is usually dealt with on field. Though once the slight has been dealt with he doesn't bare a grudge. Unless shifty and underhanded measures are involved to ensure that he cannot get his payback and then the grudge is for his entire lifetime.
K - Pinky WinslowMouse, a slightly weird and near brain dead but his reaction speeds are second to none.

Bon Soir, Mon Amis! Today sees the unveiling of the Nebuleux side for the World Cup XXXI Qualifyers. Coach Philippe Granville is expected to make sweeping changes, in an earlier press interview he claimed that "Players would in the team on merit alone, not on the basis of what team they play for, or who the public think should be in the team!". It seems that the press conference is ready to begin so we'll take you there right now.

Reporter #1: What's happened to the team! They've never played an international before, not one of them! And no players from Pierrelatte FC!
Coach Philippe Granville: Well it seems I am among the few here that seems to think that a club that plays no active football only the occasional friendlies, doesn't not contain the players to take on the world. Yes I know I could get very rich by picking those certain players with powerful fathers, but hey all I care about is football and winning!
Coach Philippe Granville storms off, as the picture goes back to the studio
Well there you have it a completely new team, how will they fare on the big stage who knows? We'll find out soon enough as they take on old foes The Islands of Qutar in the annual friendly. Well tune in next time for the lastest news in Nebuleux, Au Revior!
Schiavonia
11-10-2006, 15:17
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y2/NEWI/SFFsmall.png
SFF announce squad for WC31
TEAM MANAGER
Rodney Lowe [Age 63]
Universally loved in Schiavonia. Now into his sixth World Cup Campaign
GOALKEEPERS
1. Jack Holmes (Social Club de Sedgefield [33] Caps:28 Goals:1)
Performed very well as Ben Kershaw's replacement at WC29, and has now made the Goalkeeper's shirt his own. He even scored against Warrior Treblah!
2. Alan Frescoe (Welkay Lakeside [25] Caps:4)
3. Benji Cuerto (Atletico Unimo [24] Caps:3)
Schiavonia's two back up keepers. Frescoe is a great shot stopper while Cuerto has a superb command of his penalty area. However, with Holmes ahead of them in the pecking order, they don't get much of a chance.
DEFENDERS
11. Tarquin Freud (Kingsbury Monarchs [26] Caps:10)
Played two games at World Cup 30, where he was to blame for the two goals conceded. Is more experienced now, and will be pushing Noel Fielding and Ferreira har for their places in the team.
12. Noel Fielding (Kingsbury Rocks [23] Caps:10)
Full-back Ed's younger brother, Noel has a great natural sense of positioning and is prefered in the starting team to Freud. He'll know that he has to perform to keep his place.
13. Nicolai Ferreira (Atletico Unimo [28] Caps:20)
Ferreira has gained experience throughout World Cup 29 alongside Park and/or Marsden, and is now first choice. Shows great strength and more maturity than previously.
14. Marco Danzer (Social Club de Sedgefield [25] Caps:0)
Danzer is uncapped, but has been part of the solid defence that got SCd second place in the inaugural League of the League. However, a lack of experience at this level could limit his opportunities.
16. Herman Miller (Welkay Lakeside [32] Caps:2)
Back up for Williams at right-back, can also play at centre back when it becomes a backs-to-the-wall job.
17. Ed Fielding (Kingsbury Rocks [25] Caps:14 Goals:1)
Ed Fielding is developing into the top bracket of left-backs in international football. The inclusion of his brother Noel should push him on to even greater things.
18. Connor O'Faherty (Threlo Rovers [35] Caps:30 Goals:1)
First choice at World Cup 29, but overtaken by his young understudy last cup. Cn still ease into the team to give the defence experience if required.
19. Enrique Williams (Social Club de Sedgefield [33] Caps:35 Goals:1)
Williams has developed into a highly effective right back, not only defensively but also in pushing forward. Has hte pace to worry opposition defenders and to get back in the most desperate situations.
MIDFIELDERS
21. Fr. Symeon the Bold (The Monastery of St Chariton the Confessor of Palestine [21] Caps:7 Goals:1)
Formerly known as Kenny Sanderson Jr., Fr. Symeon has shunned the normal Schiavone lifestyle for that of the Orthodox church. We've also yet to see if he's any good, as he has never played in a competitive game.
UPDATE: As of Matchday Five, Fr. Symeon went AWOL from the Schiavone Squad. He was found around Matchday Twelve, at which point he declared that he never wanted to play football again. As a result, he will no longer play for Schiavonia, but remains on the roster because he is still officially part of the squad.
22. Alan Tiss (Chea Greens [21] Caps:0)
With the Schiavone midfield generally either untested or getting on a bit, Alan Tiss could well see a fair bit of action in this qualifying campaign as he works his way into the team for an almost definite place in the team next cup. Can play just about any role in the midfield, but best at cutting out opposition attacks and getting his own team's started.
23. Eric Berry (Welkay Lakeside [35 (Captain)] Caps:47 Goals:4)
Has a very good partnership in midfield at club level with Andy McGee, and their understanding shows at this level, too. "An energetic bundle or power" is how McGee describes him, although we'd rather say he seems to win the ball back everywhere on the pitch.
24. Will Caine (Kingsbury Rocks [27] Caps:22 Goals:8)
More the natural successor to Kenny Sanderson in the team than Fr. Kenneth will ever be, Caine is the main creative force goals source in the midfield. The front three wouldn't nearly be as effective without him.
25. Andy McGee (Welkay Lakeside [36] Caps:55 Goals:4)
McGee adds a fluency to Schiavonia's game, spraying passes around the park almost at will. Only downside is that he doesn't score as many himself as he could do.
26. Alex Greene (Threlo Rovers [24] Caps:7 Goals:1)
27. Graeme Cotten (Threlo Rovers [25] Caps:7 Goals:1)
It does seem a bit pointless to have two wingers in a squad for a team who generally don't use them, but there's always two included in case a change of tactics is needed. These are the new pairing, Greene and Cotten.
FORWARDS
31. Jermaine Edwards (Kingsbury Monarchs [32] Caps:45 Goals:30)
Schiavonia's main goal threat now that Tony Tarmey has retired, and has almost as impressive a strike rate. His main asset is his blistering pace (he could probably have been a sprinter), which can tear an opposition's defence to shreads in an instant.
32. Seamus Bradley (Threlo Rovers [31] Caps:30 Goals:14)
Bradley is the big strong guy next to the pacy Edwards, a combination that complements each other delightfully. However, he does get a lot of fouls given against him somewhat unfairly because of his size and strength.
33. Colin Chester (Social Club de Sedgefield [23] Caps:12 Goals:7)
Well, this young fella's got a lot to live up to - he's stepping intothe boots of Tony Tarmey. But he's not done too badly so far, scoring against TnUI at World Cup 30. He's also in the same mould as Tarmey, a guy who can put the ball in the net, and do it well.
34. Arran Di Chula (Atletico Unimo [27] Caps:7 Goals:4)
Chester's strike partner from DI4, but probably too similar in style to Bradley to get a real run in the team. Most likely to come on if things aren't going well and the attack needs more oomph.
35. Shiela Blige (Heartellpool United [17] Caps:0)
The first female player on the Schiavone roster. She's a crafty little runner, standing at just four feet nine in height. Has amazing ball control, though, and can dance around an opposition defence in an instant.
Retiring from the squad are...
Allesandro Portes (CD, Atletico Unimo [37] Caps:6)
Pedro Swollocks (CM, Social Club de Sedgefield [35] Caps:16 Goals:2)
Tony Tarmey (CF, Welkay Lakeside [41] Caps:90 Goals:68)
So we've lost our fifth choice centre back from a squad that only had four and the guy with a silly name. So what? Oh, and not forgetting the fact that the most famous Schiavone player ever, Tony Tarmey, has retired after scoring a national record 68 goals. Also won the third highest number of Schiavonia caps with 90. And a role model to all Schiavones everywhere. Truly a legend.
Our first choice line-up is as follows...
1. Holmes
19. Williams 13. Ferreira 12. N.Fielding 17. E.Fielding
24. Caine 23. Berry 22. Tiss
33. Chester 32. Bradley 31. Edwards
However, there are three alternative formations that are sometimes used. One is the traditional 4-4-2...
1. Holmes
19. Williams 13. Ferriera 13. N.Fielding 17. E Fielding
26. Greene 23. Berry 24. Caine 27. Cotten
32. Bradley 31. Edwards
...another, a less traditional variation on the same formation, a 2-4-2-2...
1. Holmes
12. N.Fielding 13. Ferreira
19. Williams 23. Berry 25. McGee 17. E Fielding
22. Tiss 24. Caine
31. Edwards 32. Bradley
...and finally, 3-5-2.
1. Holmes
11. Freud 13. Ferreira 12. N Fielding
26. Greene 23. Berry 24. Caine 25. McGee 27. Cotten
32. Bradley 31. Edwards
After forgetting to renew the contract with Ediraf for a set of new kits, the SFF have taken it upon themselves to create their own this time. Here's their efforts.
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y2/NEWI/schits.jpg
My opponent, if they RP first, can do whatever the hell they like. As long as it is in the Schiavone nature, and doesn't involve severely harming one of the major players. Oh, and make sure Fr. Symeon has a shocker of a game. Style modifier is +3.

Notes:
- In Backwardistan, the surname is written before the given name. The only exception is the name of the nation's leader, the Relur Emerpus, Max Power.
- While it may look like the names are written backwards, this is not the case. Take this in mind when abbreviating the given name for example when there are two players with the same surname. There are an Ulus A. (#3) and an Ulus U. (#10), and no Ulus D. or Ulus H.
- Only one Backwardistani has enough money to be able to be a spectator at matches outside of Backwardistan. This man is billionaire Enarhcoc Marfez (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/Enarhcoc_Marfez), and he will be present at all matches. He can be easily recognized as he is wearing a suit in the national colours of Backwardistan, maroon/red and navy/blue, and he is missing two teeth. Bad things seem to happen to him a lot, but in the end they always will turn out to be in his favour.
My opponent, if they RP first, is welcome to:

THE HOLY EMPIRE FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES
The Imperial WC31 squad.
Ladies and gentlemen......
On the order of the Basileus - may God protect him - Imperial quarantine restrictions on contact with ordinary reality are to be lifted for Wor
For the first time since re-entering the World Cup in WC25 - in fact for the first time since World Cup 7 - the Holy Empire is entering an entirely serious squad. No cripples, criminals, dream simulacra or porn stars.
We actually come to play.
Additional information on the players is listed where appropriate. All players with surnames ending in -es come from the Chaco, a vast underpopulated area with only 10% of the Empire's population, but which produces a disproportianate number of quality players.
Coach:
Juan Tzimisces - World Cup Hall of Fame Legend, and living link to the first four World Cups (time passes differently in the Dreamed Realm), Tzimisces is as legendary for his temper and gambling habit as he is for his tactical ability.
Goalkeeper:
John Orphanatropho
Defenders:
Manuel Palaeologo
Juan Tzimisces, Jr - Coach's son and only player to have survived the Arridian plague prior to World Cup 25 (which saw the return to action of both of the first two World Cup hosts). One of only two players said to not quiver in fear of the coach's wrath.
Manuel Erotico - despite his surname, in no way associated with the Imperial Porn Star debacle of World Cup 30.
Midfielders:
John Ducaso
Leo Diacono
Jorge Maniaces - A towering giant of a man, takes every advantage of his massive physique; named captain because Tzimisces recognises that his fellow Chacan Maniaces is the only player other than his son not secretly terrified of the coach.
Miguel Burtzes
Miguel Attaliates
Forwards:
Michael Stratiotico
Andronicus Curcuaso - The only holdover from the World Cup 30 'porn star' squad, Curcuaso was the only professional player on team xXx. And he made that squad not for any porn or stripper activities, but because he posed nude for Imperial Playgirl. A genuinely good forward whose lightning pace and eye for goal has terrified many a defence in the Imperial League.
Subs
G - Nicephorus Phocaso
D - Bardas Phocaso
D - Bardas Scleruso
M - Guillermo Vatatzes
M - Con Botaniates
M - Isaac Comneno
F - Alejandro Diogenes
F - Theodore Lascaro
The team plays an attacking 3-5-2 formation with overlapping wingers.
Style: +4
Colours - Home: Yellow with red and black trim
Away: Red with yellow and black trim
TRAVELLING TO THE HOLY EMPIRE
For the first time since World Cup 7, group opponents are to be permitted entry to the Holy Empire.
The Holy Empire exists outside ordinary reality in the Dreamed Realm. As with travel to the Archregimancy, 48 hours before your away match, monks will arrive in your nation to construct a portal through which your team and up to 10,000 supporters may travel to the Holy Empire.
Your team and supporters will arrive at the Oneiroport, just outside the Golden Gate of Alasdairopolis. You will travel through the Golden Gate, through the Three Walls of the City - each more elaborately gilded and bejewelled than the last - before travelling down the Golden Avenue (which is actually built of marble) before arriving at special quarters by the match venue, the Imperial Hippodrome. The venue is located next to both the Great Palace and the Imperial Church of Christ Pantocrator.
The Imperial Hippodrome is a 100,000 seat venue built of marble, and is covered with precious metals and jewels. The latter are cunningly arranged so as to reflect light away from the pitch in order not to blind players.
The Palace and great Imperial domed church are, if anything, even more elaborate.
Most visiting teams will never have seen anything quite like it.
Teams are warned that any precious metals and jewels stolen from the Holy Empire turn to valueless glass and base metal once out of the Dreamed Realm; only gifts handed over by Imperial authorities retain their value.
In order to give visiting teams a better feel for the spirit of our nation, HEFA would like to share with all of you our national epic poem by prominent Chacan literary figure Guillermo B. Yeatses.
THE IMPERIAL EPIC
By Guillermo B. Yeatses
The unpurged images of day recede;
The Emperor's drunken soldiery are abed;
Night resonance recedes, night-walkers' song
After great cathedral gong;
A starlit or a moonlit dome disdains
All that man is,
All mere complexities,
The fury and the mire of human veins.
Miracle, bird or golden handiwork,
More miracle than bird or handiwork,
Planted on the starlit golden bough,
Can like the cocks of Hades crow,
Or, by the moon embittered, scorn aloud
In glory of changeless metal
Common bird or petal
And all complexities of mire or blood.
At midnight on the Emperor's pavement flit
Flames that no faggot feeds, nor steel has lit,
Nor storm disturbs, flames begotten of flame,
Where blood-begotten spirits come
And all complexities of fury leave,
Dying into a dance,
An agony of trance,
An agony of flame that cannot singe a sleeve.
Astraddle on the dolphin's mire and blood,
Spirit after spirit! The smithies break the flood,
The golden smithies of the Emperor!
Marbles of the dancing floor
Break bitter furies of complexity,
Those images that yet
Fresh images beget,
That dolphin-torn, that gong-tormented sea.
Ours is no country for old men. The young
In one another's arms, birds in the trees
- Those dying generations - at their song,
The salmon-falls, the mackerel-crowded seas,
Fish, flesh, or fowl, commend all summer long
Whatever is begotten, born, and dies.
Caught in that sensual music all neglect
Monuments of unageing intellect.
An aged man is but a paltry thing,
A tattered coat upon a stick, unless
Soul clap its hands and sing, and louder sing
For every tatter in its mortal dress,
Nor is there singing school but studying
Monuments of its own magnificence;
And therefore I have sailed ‘cross dreams and come
To the holy city of Alasdairopolis.
O sages standing in God's holy fire
As in the gold mosaic of a wall,
Come from the holy fire, perne in a gyre,
And be the singing-masters of my soul.
Consume my heart away; sick with desire
And fastened to a dying animal
It knows not what it is; and gather me
Into the artifice of eternity.
Once out of nature I shall never take
My bodily form from any natural thing,
But such a form as Imperial goldsmiths make
Of hammered gold and gold enamelling
To keep a drowsy Emperor awake;
Or set upon a golden bough to sing
To lords and ladies of the Holy Empire
Of what is past, or passing, or to come.
The darkness drops again. And know I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle.
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?
RP instructions:
My opponent, if RP'ing first, may do whatever they please short of declaring war on or otherwise attempting to attack any part of the Dreamed Realm.

The team will seem vastly different from the World Cup 30 team. This is because many of the WCxXx 3rd-place finishers have buggered off to paradise, while Lunson has dropped most of the useless reserves. Only Adam Carrero, Dale Correll, Larry McCray and Adam Tsai have prior WC experience.
Goalkeepers
1. Adam CARRERO, 36, final World Cup. Retires after the qualifiers. Takes the team's attacking freekicks, and with the retirement of Luis Sunderland he now also takes the team's penalties.
14. Jake WILKINSON, 21. Plays club football in the High League for IDEXO. Will take over from Carrero for the finals.
22. Morton HAUSER, 18. Younger cousin of defender Danny Hauser, who retired after WC30.
Defenders
2. Rolano HUSEK, 23. Lunson is taking a bet on as-yet-unproven Husek, who's only featured in 43 club games for Al-Digoshi in the IAFL in the last two seasons.
3. Larry McCRAY, 32, final WC.
4. Dale CORRELL, 24. Correll is an amazingly established player, now in his 2nd qualifying campaign, having also won two IAFLs with Al-Digoshi.
12. Kristoffer YANLI, 25
16. Otis JACKSON, 22
Midfielders
5. Eugene KÜPPEL, 27
6. Jeff HOUSER, 19. The youngest player on the squad, Houser is surprisingly adept with the ball at his feet. Has drawn comparisons to Caddy Cannon.
7. Adam TSAI, 33, CAPTAIN, final WC. Tsai will be, like McCray, looking to go out with a bang. *Note: Takes over penalty duties from Carrero for the finals after his retirement.
13. Karim ORNER, 26
15. Roger HARDEN, 21
Attacking midfielders
8. DAMION, 24. Yes, just one name. Well, if you want his full name it's Damion Luis Jésus Renato da Felipe, but for simplicity's sake please just call him Damion.
9. Giovanni TOULMIN, 20. His surname is pronounced the French way, as he hails from the border of English/Italian-speaking NorthEast Region and English/German/French-speaking Government Territory.
17. Carson WERNER, 26
18. Hal TODD, 24
Strikers
10. Seth FAIR, 23. Top goalscorer in the High League two seasons ago, but never made enough of an impression to be called up.
11. Cory CARSON, 22. Fair's teammate at Schimpol up front.
19. Gerard BURNETT, 25
20. Kent LIGHT, 20

New Montreal States
12-10-2006, 21:22
Blue and Silver getting (kinda) young
Ladies and gentlemen, the New Montreal States Paladins
Coach: Benoit Briand - after a disappointing performance in WCXXX, Armand St-Gilbert was given the boot, despite being a baseball, rather than a football, coach. Briand, fresh from a championship season at CF Valdemont, was tagged for the job and accepted.
The Keepers
GK 18 Vyacheslav Kamchatski, age 22 - with a huge pair of cleats to fill after the departure of the legendary Paul Chasson. Showed great promise during the season at Moncton Sands, but will be kept on a tight leash nonetheless.
GK 2 Ives Marc St-Joubert - Neck and neck with Kamchatski throughout camp, benched only owing to Kamchatski's stint behind Chasson in WCXXX. Will get his number called after the first big blowout.
What some people might call a Defense
We mostly call it #@∆¥¢∞!!!
D 17 André Mailleul, age 26 - Because, y'know, we had to put someone here, and he walked into the room at the wrong moment.
D 51 Mitch Broughton, age 22 - It takes a special kind of guy to take all the abuse heaped on the back two. He seems to have the necessary chutzpah.
D 44 Harry Hoolia, age 20 - He's one-quarter Rejistanian, so he might actually be good someday. Who knows?
D 43 Bradley Osric, age 21 - Why the hell not?
The Midfield
MF 7 Fabrice Labranche, age 29 - Labranche steps into the shoes of the retired Charles Pilon with his usual upbeatness and aplomb. Will quarterback the team with efficiency, imagination and gusto. What more could we ask?
MF 8 Petr Hunyadi, age 29 - Master of the counterattack, plays brilliant D, cooks gourmet meals as a hobby. Happily married to model Anne-Audrey Fleury for six years now - long enough for the tabloids to discard them as old news.
MF 15 Orestes Jones, age 17 - Because it just wouldn't be an NMS side without a youthful phenom.
MF 39 Marc Tessier, age 31 - Anger and talent mixed in equal parts. Briand will yank him at the first sign of trouble; unfortunately, him going off usually is the first sign of trouble.
MF 48 Lucien St-Germain, age 21 - Full of promise, talent and youth. Also full of himself.
MF 87 Albany Plattsburgh, age 31 - Plattsburgh's stellar defense and surprising able passing skills were a rare bright spot in a fairly dismal WCXXX. Hopefully we'll get more of the same from him in WC31.
Midfield Reserves:
MF 4 Sid Briscoe, age 26
MF 10 Terrance Foulks, age 23
MF 17 David Chung, age 24
MF 19 Dude Caslow, age 18
MF 25 Jean-Charles Julien, age 20
MF 27 Marcel Vieuxjarat, age 22
The National Cans of Whoop-Ass
F 22 Andre Darcy, age 30 - the perpetual bridesmaid now gets his shot, stepping into the retired Gilles Villeneuve's shoes. What Darcy will be able to do with the offense is anyone's guess, however.
F 69 Billy Corcoran, age 25 - he choked badly last Cup, and will need to revert to his rookie-year form to be effective this go-round.
Forward Reserves:
F 3 Racker Barnslow, age 19 - being groomed as a superstar already. Will not contribute much off the bench.
F 88 Louis-Stephan Colbert, age 20 - very superstantial. Almost lincolnish, really.
The Stadia
Lo! A list of our group-stage opponents, and the stadia they will be opposed in when they come calling, will be posted shortly upon our receipt of a list of our group-stage opponents.
(OOC stuff: Formation is a +1. Ages are at the Cup proper, subtract 2 years for the first half of qualifiers and 1 for the second half. Or, just give the whole thing a miss, and write about something more interesting than the players ages)

The Roster again
After a great qualifying campaign where the Warriors went 13 straight games undeafeated they failed miserably in the World Cup as they finished probably last place in their group. If not it was definitely. Either way they want to do well at the big stage and make the quarterfinals.
The Roster:
Gk: Clay Finton- A great goalkeeper who makes many great saves and has forced Tuck Koolerc out of a spot where he looked entrenched to be keeper for a long time. Still looking for a boost of confidence after a disastourous
World Cup.
D: Casey Stockholm- A good wing defender who got to start after his play on the ball made Jamie Smith take him barely over Brandon Callers.
D: Chase Mergle- Very fast for a centerback and that allows him to cover a lot of ground in a very short time. His speed has helped the Mongolian Horses avoid relegation this year.
D: Martin Hansen- A lot like Casey Stockholm on the other side. The only difference being Stockholm is a little bit better on the ball and Hansen is a little bit better on the defensive side. Made a great partnership in friendly games.
M: Elana Kilinin- Her great play was key to them qualifying and after helping the Milchama women in their world cup is back to play with the men. She will again be relied upon to get a spark in the offense.
M: Del Clufor- A little speedy center mid. Does not have the passing skills of Antoine Sanchez but his little runs thru the defense remind people of a mix between Johnny Rintell and Darian Flinters.
M:Barrett M. Lonnen- Destined to be the next great Milchamian player. How can we tell? He has the middle initial that he puts in his name that nobody knows what it stands for like Marc J. Floren. Can help the counter attack.
F: Marin Keffer- Was a starting midfielder for the Milchama B team at 15 but did not make last U21 squad because of a mistake by Patrice Thibault. This time a starter and he wants to show Thibault he made a bad mistake.
F: Kelvin Joseph- A natural scorer who after a very successful campaign last time off the bench became the official starter over Spot Nielson.
F: Floren Albentine-A great goalscorer who did his job replacing Floren very well in the last WC. His play will be key as he is the one that many charge as replacing Floren. Success or failure in this, according to many, relies on him and his adjustment to international football.
F: Aaron Kary- The teammate of Floren. His crosses have been compared to Faren's and many consider him to be better than J.J.
Subs:
F: Tilar Flitty- Did great for the B team and now comes up to the A for the first time as the first sub. Is expected to make Joseph look better and win games off the bench like Bantin and Joseph before him.
Gk: Marcos Ollins- Came on the wrong time. A career backup in his 4th World Cup. Still only has 3 caps for the national team.
D: Kyoga Marcazumi- Is back in the fold as his play for club Great Alexandria helped them just miss the title in the lastest IAFL.
M: Antoine Sanchez- After starting for two cups is back on the bench. He wants to get his starters job back before WC30.
F: Zar Johnson- Back on the national team after a one cup hiatus and wants to prove that he belongs and that he should be playing at this level.

Aurendia
16-10-2006, 03:47
Aurendia will be represented by the same players that were involved in the last Baptism of Fire and World Cup XXX. Very little has changed since last time, everyone’s a little older, but they’re all still just as fast and aggressive. The lineup is almost identical, with just a few switches between the starting eleven and the bench.

Bettia World Cup 31 Squad
Style Modifier
We don't do defence - we trash defence.
In typically gung-ho fashion, Bettia will be playing with as positive a style modifier as possible (+5 (?)), utilising a highly attacking 2-5-3 / 2-3-5 formation.
Roleplaying
If RPing first, the FAB give our opponents permission to RP / godmod pretty much anything they like... just don't wear red, cos that's just taking the piss - and here in the Blessed Realm, it's liable to get you arrested.

Probable Starting Eleven for World Cup xXxI
GK :: ( #80 ) : Unknown Location
Despite wishes to see Cocoabo #82 given a chance to start, it is widely expected that Cocoabo #80 will retain its position as Jualiar Vumaou's goalkeeper of Choice. Cocoabo #80 has had a spotty record so far for Turori, but Vumaou is hesitant on putting a less experienced keeper in goal for the Qualifiers.
DEF :: ( #2 ) : Unknown Location
A regular starter under Vumaou, Cocoabo #2 is a reliable defender who rarely makes mistakes, but rarely makes big plays. A safe bet at the back, Cocoabo #2's experience should be an important factor in important matches for Turori this term.
DEF :: ( #3 ) : Unknown Location
Cocoabo #3 will be thrust into the spotlight during World Cup xXxI qualifying, making its first appearance in a starting role as the lead central defender and sweeper. Cocoabo #3 will replace the injured Cocoabo #6, who is expected to be able to return around Matchday 12.
DEF :: ( #4 ) : Unknown Location
Regular team captain and defensive stalwart, Cocoabo #4 is a commanding presence at the back. Unfortunately, its stamina sometimes lets it down and Cocoabo #7 regularly comes in to replace Cocoabo #4 for the final 20 minutes, moving the captaincy to Cocoabo #26.
MID :: ( #29 ) : Unknown Location
Flying down the left wing, Cocoabo #29 is a returning member of both the World Cup 30 and Cup of Harmony squads, being the quiet but productive left winger who's position in the squad is hardly challenged by the fringe players like Cocoabo #28, who has made just 3 appearances as a substitute under Vumaou.
MID :: ( #22 ) : Unknown Location
Cocoabo #22 is currently one of the strongest central midfielders in the World Cup, and will likely be in the running for the group MVP honors, if it can continue to build on its current form and lead Turori to favorable results.
MID :: ( #23 ) : Unknown Location
Cocoabo #23 replaces Cocoabo #21 as Jualiar Vumaou's partner of choice in the center of midfield along side Cocoabo #22. Cocoabo #23 received good reviews for his performance as a substitute coming on against higher ranked Spruitland in the Cup of Harmony, and has kept his place over the weaker Cocoabo #21.
MID :: ( #26 ) : Unknown Location
Sharing the duties of the Captaincy with Cocoabo #4, Cocoabo #26 is one of the most dependable outside midfielders on the pitch for Turori and is most likely to complete the full 90 minutes in most, if not all of Turori's opening round qualifying matches.
AMC :: ( #27 ) : Unknown Location
Cocoabo #27 will be making their debut as a member of the starting lineup in Jualiar Vumaou's new look Attacking Formation. Cocoabo #27 has shown promise in the new role in the gap between the forwards, and has pushed Cocoabo #33, the more defensive minded midfielder, to the bench.
FOR :: ( #19 ) : Never Stepped Foot in Rejistania
An ever-present in Jualiar Vumaou's squad, Cocoabo #19 is one of the most promising and exiting among the flock. Having never stepped foot in Rejistania, this Cocoabo is all business when it comes to scoring goals, and is already projected to be Top Scorer for Turori in World Cup Qualifying.
FOR :: ( #11 ) : Unknown Location
Cocoabo #13 was a regular starter under Vumaou in World Cup 30 Qualifying, but lost his place to Cocoabo #13 during the Cup of Harmony. After a dissapointing early exit from the Cup of Harmony, however, Cocoabo #11 returns the starting lineup for the World Cup xXxI Qualifyers.

Tynelia-Tessan

Tessan's roster
Style +5
Formation 2-2-6
Coach- Sir James Kenmore age 37 the greatest knight in all of Tessan now retired from play but stays on as coach to bring class and dignity to a squad which now lacks any nobility at all from the upper class.
Team
F- Squire Jacob Morris age 16 (starter)- youngest player on the team but the king’s favorite squire
F- Goodman Adam of Westerling age 24 (starter)- part of the new commoner’s touch change to this year’s team. Skills seem adequate
F- Sir James Pierce age 26 (starter) veteran of last Cup, is pretty skilled and the king admires his attacking style of play.
F- Miller Wallace of Chamberville age 23 (starter) probably the most skilled of the commoners, Wallace doesn’t really like sitting back and playing defense but is always ready to attack up field. Some have said were his birth higher he might have made a half decent knight
F- Guardsman Davis of Kenmore age 22 (starter)- part of Sir James’ local team his stroing play has earned him a spot here.
F- Sir Boros Black age 26 (starter) another veteran who hopes to earn enough glory to catch the attention of the nobility as a possible acceptable marriage match
F- Farmer Darren of Everbrook age 29 (reserve)- with the harvest done the farmer looks to pick up a few coins on the side if he does well here.
F- Constable Marcus of Clearwater age 28 (reserve) a newcomer to the sport with only limited practice time but shows much promise for the future
F/M- Trader Matthew of Pine Ledge age 25 (reserve) was intrigued by the sport some years back when it first arrived in Tessan and has picked up the sport as a roving player willing to play for any team in between business runs. Some feel that if he wanted to he could be one of the best in the nation if his job was not taking him away from the field so much.
M- Sir William Kendricks age 27 (starter) the most skilled ball handler on the team and now senior enough to get the job as other nobles and knights passed on joining this year’s team.
M- Yeoman Karl Peters age 28 (starter) a veteran of last cup’s team as well giving the midfield the unusual look of having both starters with World Cup experience.
M/D- Squire Martin Saunders age 17 (reserve) new to the sport but as Sir James’ squire he seeks to follow in his idol’s footsteps on the pitch.
D- Merchant Tim Tommons age 28 (starter) a good cautious player who seldom does anything rash or irresponsible. Something needed with all the attacking mentalities on this team.
D- Freedman Yorl of Noskaga age 20 (starter) an escaped slave who managed to reach Tessan unnoticed and freed by the local baron, Yorl has dedicated himself to his patron by trying to help his team win the Tessan league championships. He has become a skilled defender with his nothing to lose mentality so occasionally takes risks others might not consider.
D- Father Micah age 21 (reserve) a newly minted priest who believes that soccer is a much more proper sport than jousting and dueling hopes that by playing well he can encourage the creation of youth leagues that children of all walks of life may share in the joy of the sport. He actually can play surprisingly.
Keeper- Goodman Alan of Quarterspire age 25( starter) winner of much fame after shutting out the royal team last year in the “all star” match. After the king was talked out of beheading him Sir James mentioned that he would be a fine addition to the WC squad.
Keeper- Smith Garos of Kenmore age 29 (reserve) another one of Sir James’ players who’s main skill at net is being so big at 6’6” 310 pounds that he takes a lot of space up. That and the fact no one in Tessan wants to go up against him for a high ball.

Hi there I'm Seth Harrison, and tonight is the first of our World Cup programmes, after tumbling out of the Second Round last time around and losing many of our key experienced players to the cruel march of time. With a long qualifying campaign ahead of us, we'll find out how Philip Davies' squad will cope with the challenge. For those who haven't seen the squad already here it is in full:
The screen goes to show the team sheets below.

The screen goes to back to the studio.
Well the main squad seems to be a squad with its main experience in the Qutari Premier League, only Wildgoose and Armaos have much experience in the international scene. It seems that Davies has listened to calls for the average age of the squad to be lowered, then again when has he listened to anyone so its probably his decision. A few eyebrows have been raised at the inclusion of John Harvey in the squad, only just turned 16 years of age and yet to play in a competitive Premier League game but with Davies hailing him the next Ali don't close your mind just yet. Well I'll see you next time for group analysis and coverage of the Schiaviona-Qutar "Retirement" match. Wishing all of you out there tonight a good night!
The camera pans away from the host, the lights fade down as the screen goes to the logo.

Important Notes
There are two football associations in the Unified Capitalizt States, Capitalizt SLANI and the 자본가는 스포츠 연맹을 (Jabonganīn Sīpoçī ʼYūnmāŋʼīl) (abbreviated 자스연 (Jasīʼyūn) or JSY). These FAs are called Commerce Heights and Commerce Heights JSY by the World Cup Committee, although these are not their real names. The nation that they are in is officially called the Unified Capitalizt States, though it is normally called Commerce Heights in an informal (or OOC) context. Should the name Commerce Heights JSY appear in an RP outside of a table, I’ll send my Giant Attack Tuxes—er, I mean, it’d be nice if you used the correct names. :p
(When TLAs are needed, Capitalizt SLANI’s is, for historical reasons, COM, and 자스연 (Jasīʼyūn)’s is JSY.)
Less Important Notes
Theoretically, anyone can play on either Capitalizt national team (unless they have previously played for another national team), since the UCS has no citizenship. In practice, however, the only foreigners that will play for the UCS are Lontorikans, since some Lontorikan clubs are part of the Capitalizt SLANI League.
In addition to normal eligibility requirements, Capitalizt SLANI and 자스연 (Jasīʼyūn) have agreed that no player playing for a 자스연 (Jasīʼyūn) club may play for the SLANI national team, or vice versa, unless the player had previously played for that national team (as is the case with Albin Krišanović, who were on the SLANI national team during WC29–30).

자스연 (Jasīʼyūn) has no fixed set of substitutes; substitutes are chosen for each match from a large pool of players (a full squad will be picked in the unlikely event that the team reaches the World Cup). If you need the name of a substitute in an RP, you may either make up a name or use the Capitalizt name generator (http://www.thirdgeek.com/namegen/XN-COM/).
Kits
To reduce confusion, SLANI and 자스연 (Jasīʼyūn) have agreed to use the colors of the Sonoma Center Panthers and Port Lusambo Paladins, respectively, rather than green and gold kits.

With most of the attack retiring, this will once again be a team of mixed experience and youth, with Iannis Xenakis as the team Captain. Oleg Petrov and Igor Khabarov also have plenty of experience, and Velasquez and Jorgenson will anchor the defense. The midfield looks very good on paper, but has little experience playing together, so we'll have to wait and see how they meld.
Squornshelous will play in a 3-2-3-2 formation

Starter Players:
GK Vasily Kashchenko is renowned throughout Sel Appa for his abilities in the net. He expects his mastery in the net to show at Sel Appa's first attempt for the World Cup. He think Sel Appa has a good team and should at least make it into the tournament.
DF Bernard Apple is known for his coming "out of nowhere" and sending the ball far down the pitch with just a kick.
DF Jimmy Peech is known in Sel Appa as "The Wall" for his large size that allows him to block balls. He is a very important part of every defensive wall.
DF Fo Chang is credited as Sel Appa's best defender and often helps make sure his team doesn't get into too big of a hole.
MF Jacques Latortue is well-known in Sel Appa for enabling swift connections between defense and strikers. It was once said that "the ball was heading back upfield before he even got it".
MF Colin Patette is a master midfielder and probably Sel Appa's best. He can work in almost any situation and ensures that the ball is always in front of him.
MF Theo Matou boasts a 100% winning record outside the World Cup. He hopes to add to this in the World Cup.
FW Alan Dubrov is Sel Appa's youngest player at age 23 and is expected to be around for many more World Cups. He is considered one of Sel Appa's best footballers and is expected to put on a good show.
FW Lee Reshom is a fairly defensive striker and has rarely scored a goal. He focuses on trying to prevent opposing forces from attacking.
FW Estevez is widely regarded as Sel Appa's best footballer and has made 75 goals in his career. He is well-known for being able to make virtually every shot, from corner kicks to free kicks to penalty kicks. He plans to show off much of his skills and would really like to help bring Sel Appa to the Final 32. He is the team's captain.
FW Alex Nart is Estevez's attacking partner and the two are often seen charging down the pitch gracefully and often scoring a goal.

You can do anything you fancy except killing somebody or injuring or expelling more than 3 players.
The coach, Pepu Hernández loves to play a 3-4-3 tactic.
Goalkeepers
1. CUELLAR, Iván Alcalá FC 35
He has been the national team goalkeeper during 10 years. Very performing player, his only problems comes with high shots
12. CALATRAVA, José Olímpico Escolano 21
A rookie in NFCL. He's the big surpise of the season. Agile and spectacular.
25. González, José "PEPE" Liminiana Balompié, 18
Two bad injuries in his club gaolies has put this young star among the top goalkeepers in the nation.
Defenders

A all-terrain, plays best as defensive midfielder or right winger

COACHING STAFF:
[ -- ] Callum Banda [ - Head Coach- ]
Sensational Striker averaging over a goal per game in the U21's remarkable Runner-Up performances in U21 WC3. First Appeared for the National team in World Cup 13 and scored the Jungle Cats first ever goal in Inter-NationStatal Competition in the 2-1 over Compound Interest. Banda set a Vilitan record by scoring 10 times during World Cup 19 Qualifying, includding his 50th career goal, both in all international competitions, and his 50th Senior-National tally with the equalizer against Tadjikistan. Banda capped off a sensational season by winning his first Vilitan Most Valuable Player award. Banda netted his 196th career Domestic goal for Marine Coast United as he helped return his long-time club to the top of the Stellar Division in Season 15. In Season 16, Banda netted his 200th career goal for Marine Coast United, then shocked the world by announcing he would be leaving the club he had played for his entire career, midway through Season 16. Banda was offerred the job of saving Arcticala Inlet from the threat of relegation, not only as a Striker, but also, as team manager. Banda accepted the job, and not only fired the goals that kept Arcticala Inlet safe, but coached the club to victory in the Vilitan Cup for the 5th time in club history. Banda, the All-Time top Goalscorer in Vilita, is believed to have around 100 International goals, though an exact number has not been released by the Vilitan Football Association.
[ -- ] Jimmy Kater [ - Assistant Coach- ]
Jimmy Kater took over the starting position on the National Team under the intense spotlight of the World Cup 17 Finals in Vilita. Kater has remained first choice keeper since then, despite a Quarter Final exit to Liverpool England. After leading the Vilita Under-21's to the Under-21 World Cup 7 Championship, Kater left a deflating Tivali City to join up-and-comers Arcticala Inlet, who he led to the top half of the Stellar Division tables. Kater earned a pair of consecutive Vilitan Cup titles with Arcticala Inlet, before returning to Strike FC ater the departure of Bryan 'Pop' Duiker. Kater has continued in his role at Strike FC, being the backbone of a revitalized franchise netting consecutive Vilitan Stellar Division titles for the first time. Kater took the role of Assistant Coach to Callum Banda for the Vilitan National Team during World Cup xXxI as his first recognized coaching position, by personal request of Banda.
GOALKEEPERS:
[ 95 ] Jawz Oaker [ - Inland Peaks FC - ]
------- GK ( AGE: 24 GOALS::SR: U21: REG: )
Jawz Oaker is the son of Colonial Sile and Oaker national midfielder Arthin Oaker, who moved to Vilita early in his career after his impressive performances for Oaker in past World Cups. Jawz was called up to the Vilita Under 21 squad as Oaker did not participate in the Under-21's, qualifying through his residency and his Mother, a Vilitan. The young keeper spent most of Season 15 on loan to Mavaloiao, before being recruited by Doug Freech's Lopinka side, Declasse champions looking for a starting keeper for their return campain in the Stellar Division. However, hometown Makosile's vast improvements in Season 16 saw the youngster quick to return home to bask in the spotlight with one of Vilita's rising new powers. Despite earning the Goalkeeper of the year award, Oaker's team was not able to compete and spent more time at the bottom of the table then the top, prompting the young keeper to depart once again, this time to Champions League bound inland Peaks FC.
[ 91 ] Jimmy Jaded [ - Arcticala Inlet - ]
------- GK ( AGE: 19 GOALS::SR: U21: REG: )
Jimmy Jaded became one of the youngest players in Vilitan history to receive a professional contract when his Turoki Tide were invited to the Vilitan Declasse in Season 18. Jaded was the only keeper left at the small Turoki club after senior keeper Mital Siegalafel retired at the age of 47 due to injury and fatigue. The Tide will be looking to bring in some experienced cover for Jaded during the season, but the youngster impressed former Goalkeeper Bryan 'Pop' Duiker enough to become the youngest player ever called into the Vilitan Under 21 squad, Duiker asking Jaded to cover as backup for Jawz Oaker in Under 21 World Cup 18. The potential of Jimmy Jaded was quickly spotted, and the youngster made a cross-town switch to the Stellar Division to join Turoki United for Season 21. Jaded could not break into the first team, however, and the youngster who spent the season on loan would transfer elswhere in hopes of first team football. He found just that in Arcticala Inlet, who led the Stellar Division until the very end of the season, coming home third in Season 24.
DEFENDERS:
[ 4 ] Vite Makose [ - Strike FC - ]
------- D C ( AGE: 26 GOALS::SR: U21: REG: )
Born to a Half-Vilitan, Half-Druidan uprising, Vite Makose grew up in Port Scadock, Druida and was trained into a budding young Central Defender at the well known Vilitan Exiles club. Word of the youngsters skill quickly spread to Vilita, but many top teams were wary of how much talent a half-druidan could actually possess. Finally, struggling decalsse side Morata Valley made the move and signed Makose to a one season contract. The move proved more than effective as Makose lifted Morata Valley to third in the table on the way to earning the Declasse player of the season award. Unfortunately for Morata Valley, the lure of the Stellar Division was too much as Makose made the switch to heavy spending Turorian Champions Cednia Beach AFC. Makose proved his first season was no fluke after he was shortlisted for the honors of Defender of the Season. Having bit off more than they could chew, Cednia quickly cashed in on Makose who made the switch to seasonal contenders Arcticala Inlet, and his top defensive performances helped Inlet get the final boost they needed to win their first ever Stellar Division title in Season 19. Makose would move to Yeaddin Owls in Season 21 and spend 4 seasons there, before moving to Strike FC and winning the Stellar Division and Vilitan Cup in his first season with the club.
[ 8 ] Ricata Tivalan [ - Siji~e Xkora (Rej) - ]
------- D C ( AGE: 25 GOALS::SR: U21: REG: )
Ricata Tivalan became the first Vilitan defender to sign for a club side in Karela-laden Rejistania when he signed for Siji~e Xkora. The 18 year old was invited to the Jungle Kitties side for his first taste of international play in Under 21 World Cup 15.
[ 62 ] Rayford Watson [ - Yeaddin Owls AFC - ]
------- D RLC ( AGE: 23 GOALS::SR: U21: REG: )
[ 6 ] Ricky Ezis [ - Yeaddin Owls AFC - ]
------- D RC ( AGE: 37 GOALS::SR: 4 U21: 1 REG: 1 )
Ricky Ezis is one of the most exciting prospects in all of Vilita, being molded in the exact form of the most capped Vilitan player in history, Enzo Ahat. The Strike FC defender plays alongside former Vilitan Nationals Danilo Liguori and David Leacock in the Stellar Division and frequently outshines his more experienced teammates. His performances have consistently earned him selection to the National team in favor of this duo, and Arcticala Inlet's Emarka Laniora. Ricky transferrd to Yeaddin Owls in Season 14 and helped lead them to the Stellar Division Championship. Ezis would be one of the most recognizable defenders in Vilitan history, spending 9 memorable seasons with the Yeaddin Owls earning accolaides from around the world, before moving to Kiiarana City at the age of 36, furthering his career in the Stellar Division before moving to Strike.
[ 61 ] Willie Fenn [ - Yeaddin Owls AFC - ]
------- D RLC ( AGE: 20 GOALS::SR: U21: REG: )
Willie Fenn took a big step towards becoming the most famous Yutzie defender in history after a two-step switch from Yutzie Sorma to megoliths Marine Coast United in Season 22. The time in the spotlight with Marine Coast was short lived though, as Fenn left the struggling Crosaibi club for Arcticala Inlet a season later, going on to finish 5th in the Stellar Division, while Marine Coast United would be relegated for the first time. Despite being a fan favorite at Arcticala, money talks and Fenn made a move to Yeaddin Owls AFC to replace the departing Vite Makose in the Owls backline.
[ 66 ] Viliiama Kikarai [ - Yeaddin Owls AFC - ]
------- D RLC ( AGE: 16 GOALS::SR: U21: REG: )
DEFENSIVE MID:
[ 39 ] Derek Valkanis [ - Strike FC - ]
------- DM C ( AGE: 20 GOALS::SR: U21: REG: )
Raised in the Morata Valley academy, Valkanis made a surprise switch to rivals Eastal Lunar prior to Season 22, But signalled his intention to fight for the position of Vilita's Defensive Midfielder in their return to the World Cup Finals in World Cup 31 by joining high flying Strike FC in Season 24.
[ 38 ] Andronik Taimazov [ - Morata Valley - ]
------- GK/D/DM ( AGE: 22 GOALS::SR: U21: REG: )
Young Morata Valley phenom Andonik Taimazov quickly gained a reputation in the Declasse Division after being called to step in as Goalkeeper mid-match and pitching a perfect shutout performance as Morata Valley marched towards the Stellar Division. Taimazov's multi-skilled background has served him well on the domestic level, but his ability as a powerful defensive midfielder earned him his first international call at the hands of Bryan 'Pop' Duiker and the Under 21 World Cup 18.
MIDFIELDERS:
[ 21 ] Jonjo Hulyer [ - Yeaddin Owls AFC - ]
------- M LC ( AGE: 27 GOALS::SR: 4 U21: 4 REG: 0 )
Jonjo Hulyer is one of the most exciting prospects to come out of the Marine Coast academy in many seasons. He is expected to challenge for a place in the Marine Coast Lineup at just 16 years of age, Preferring to attack down the middle or on the left flank. Hulyer quickly broke into the Marine Coast lineup but failed to show the Inaki Soler like qualities that many had expected out of him. After a few seasons of mediocracy, Marine Coast finally got the results expected of them on the way to the Vilitan Cup in season 19. Unfortunately, Marine Coast could not put the results together in the league, and Hulyer finally made his move away from Crosaibi to pursue a career at Arcticala Inlet. The star midfielder would record 15 goals for the Inlet, earning a transfer to the Yeaddin Owls during season 23.
[ 74 ] Esorijan Marelja [ - Strike FC - ]
------- AM RL ( AGE: 23 GOALS::SR: U21: REG: )
After coming throught the ranks at the Morata Valley Youth academy, Marelja was a key player for the Valley in Season 17 and earned a post-season transfer to storied Stellar Division club Strike FC. In his first season at Strike, 17 year old Marelja started nearly every match and tallied 8 goals from the wing, helping Strike to the Stellar Division title. Dishing out the single largest transfer fee since Riccardo Appolloni's transfer to Inland Peaks in Season 16, 19 year old Vilitan wing phenom Esorijan Marelja made the switch to inconsistent Jlinal Cove FC with a promise of being the centerpiece in which the squad would be molded for time to come. Strike, however, needed cover for the departing Antonis Siazzu, and re-acquired Marelja after he had spent just one season at Jilinal Cove.
[ 52 ] Thierry Columbo [ - Turoki Isle - ]
------- M LC ( AGE: 30 GOALS::SR: 2 U21: 3 REG: 2 )
Columbo left Lonngeylin Coast in search of first team action with Declasse side Mavaloiao FC. Columbo was an instant hit at the club, and helped lead them to the Declasse Division title and a place in the Stellar Division starting in Season 14. Columbo became a hot commodity after performances for new club Makosile, and signed with Strike FC for Season 17. After a pair of mediocre seasons with Strike, head coach Santo Kecker decided it was time to bring in some new talent with the clubs earnings from their position atop the Stellar Division in season 18. Midfield Star Antonis Siazzu took Columbo's role at Strike, eventually forcing the midfielder to move on and sign a deal with Turoki Isle midway through season 19.
[ 14 ] Iñaki Soler [ - Strike FC - ]
------- AM RLC ( AGE: 34 GOALS::SR: 17 U21: 9 REG: 1 )
Inaki Soler may be the greatest Vilitan talent since Santo Kecker graced the Vilitan history books with the first ever game-winning Vilitan goal against Compound Interest in World Cup 13 Qualifying. Despite a lack of goals so far in his senior career, a high profile-record transfer to the ever-improving Yeaddin Owls AFC was sure to do nothing but improve his chances of keeping his place in the Vilita side. With Helmut Vilkaus announcing an emphasis on Wings in the coming years, many expect Soler to breakthrough and take his place as the first-choice Vilitan midfielder. However, Soler left the Owls with friend Antonis Siazzu during the Season 12 Exodus to train independantly and focus on international play. After starting the first half of Season 13 with Alikki-Corra, Soler returned to Yeaddin Owls and sparked a resurretion that saw the Owls catch and pass Strike FC to earn their 10th Stellar Division title. But Once again, Soler showed an uncanny unpredictability, by ditching newly acquired friend Antonis Siazzu, and the Yeaddin faithful, after they failed to secure the championship in Season 15. Soler was talked into joining Inland Peaks FC by former Yeaddin teammate Riccardo Appolloni, and as his contract ran out with Yeaddin, Soler once again refused to resign and walked into a new and questionable chapter in his very fascinating domestic career. After two seasons at Inland Peaks, Soler was recruited back to the club where he got his start, Strike FC, by Vilitan legend Santo Kecker and the big checkbook of one of the top teams in the world.
[ 78 ] Brent Obwinyi [ - Turoki United - ]
------- M RC ( AGE: 25 GOALS::SR: 0 U21: 1 REG: 1 )

------- AM C ( AGE: 18 GOALS::SR: U21: REG: )
[ 55 ] Damian Adeshina [ - Tivali City - ]

[ 53 ] Resaie Kentiak [ - Marine Coast United - ]

FORWARDS:
[ 17 ] Tika Massa [ - Strike FC - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 25 GOALS::SR: 3 U21: 9 REG: 3 )
Tika Massa was thrust into the Vilitan Spotlight after netting on his debut performance in the Jurassic Invitational Tournament after coming on as a sub. Massa's late goal sent Vilita into the Semi Finals of the inagural Jurassic competition. Massa's performances earned him a transfer to the admitedly more high profile club of Eastal Lunar, from Makosile where he trained as a youth. Massa was an instant hit at Eastal lunar netting 7 times in 18 games and helping them to the Season 15 Vilitan Cup title. Massa' impressive performances for Eastal Lunar earned him a transfer to Marine Coast United where he netted a career high 8 goals in Season 17. With Marine Coast's form slipping, and Cednia Beach's stock rising, the Season 17 champions tabled a bid for the Vilitan Under 21 International and Massa made his first appearances for the Turorian Club during the 6th NS Champions League. After netting 6 times in 36 appearances for Cednia Beach, Massa made his second consecutive move to the Stellar Division Champions, making the high profile switch to Strike FC in Season 19. It was like deja vu for Strike however, when they acquired Grenville Marai from Cednia Beach, allowing Massa to be offloaded to Inland Peaks FC, but would return once again to Strike a season later after the departure of Ippolit Adjei
[ 15 ] Kris Wrice [ - Marine Coast United - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 25 GOALS::SR: 0 U21: 4 REG: 1 )
Wrice made 10 appearances for Inland Peaks in Season 15, and his 5 goals helped propel the team to the top 5 in the table at the halfway point. The young striker's potential did not go unnoticed, and Turoki Isle opened up their pockets to make an offer the smaller Inlands club could not refuse, bringing the Under-21 International to Turoki Isle. Wrice would spend two seasons at Turoki Isle, netting 21 goals for the club before making a high-profile transfer to Marine Coast United during Season 17.
[ 48 ] Grenville Marai [ - Strike FC - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 25 GOALS::SR: U21: REG: )
[ 44 ] Bevan Holness [ - Kiiarana - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 23 GOALS::SR: U21: REG: )
Bevan Holness was handed a senior contract to partner Spruitlands Chico Provoost after graduating from the Mavaloiao academy following Season 17. After Mavaloiao's dissapointing relegation from the league system, however, the club had no choice but to entertain offers for the budding striker, eventually seeing him join up with Makosile in the Stellar Division. Holness spent two seasons with Makosile before making the move to Simeone Di Bradini's Kiiarana City in Season 23.
[ 43 ] Kristofer Kilpter [ - Yeaddin Owls AFC - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 16 GOALS::SR: U21: REG: )
After shining in Vilita & Turori's magnificent Atlantian Oceania Regional championships, speculation arose as to whether Kristofer Kilpter would opt to play for historical powerhouses Vilita or the team of the future, Turori. However, Kilpters hand was influenced by Turorian head coach Jualiar Vumaou who opted to field Cocoabo's instead of Citizens in the World Cup xXxI Qualifying and Finals, leaving Kilpter no other choice but to accept the Vilitan invitation if he wanted to compete in competitive World Cup action during the time of the 31st World Cup.

Fmjphoenix Vikings
World Cup 31 Mates
+4 Modifier
Coaching Staff
James Wash 78 years old
The head coach of the Vikings for as long as anyone can remember, Wash shows no signs of slowing down. He has a knack for bringing the best out in those who play for him. Well liked by everyone around, Wash will go down as one of the most influential Fmjphoenix sports figures the minute he retires from coaching.
Mariano Rodriquez 58 years old
The forever youthfull Rodriquez always keeps the team together. His youthfull attitude and actions keep everyone friendly in the locker room and his knowledge of the game is only surpased by those who have been involved in it longer than him.
Jorge Mendel 52 years old His desire to still be near the football pitch has earned him a spot on the sidelines helping his own mentor. One of the former great forwards from Fmjphoenix, his knowledge of the game is phenomenal.
Starting Eleven
3-4-3 Groupies
Goalkeeper: #4 Justin Keys 29 years old (Ariot Lupes)
With several clean sheets in World Cup 28, Keys showed off to millions why Fmjphoenix can do more than score lots of goals. Great things are expected of him.
Defender: #8 Kayla Mik’ala 33 years old (Vanguard Eagles)
Top defender in Fmjphoenix. She stays with her targert from end-to-end. Her relentless attitude to he opponents makes her someone most want to stay away from while on the pitch.
Defender: #14 Brian Bash 27 years old (Takil Lines)
Son of former Vikings defender Bobby Bash. Brian has inherited his dads excellent sliding as his timings are rarely off and almost always result in a loose ball.
Defender: #18 Brian Sado - 21 years old (unattached)
His excellent play during the U21WC, Sado has earned a starting spot on the Vikings. He is a big strong guy who has a lot of speed for his size. Can attack well and is threat from the wings at all times.
Midfielder: #6 Laura Boyd 28 years old (Iskara Daii, Starblaydia)
Captain of the Junior Vikings in U21WC19, Fmjphoenix's thrid of four U21WC Championships. Her ability on the field is just as great as her ability to keep her team in the right midset to stay in the game and win.
Midfielder: #5 Desmond Howard 31 years old (Vanguard Eagles)
Howard has matured into a all around player, using his solid clutch play on the defensive end now, as well as offensivly.
Midfielder: #12 Ridley Silverlake 19 years old (unattached)
Her raw talent has coaches and scouts all over Fmjphoenix oogling for a chance to coach her. Ridley showed off her skills in the U21WC and earned a starting spot without any competition.
Midfielder: #10 Andrew Jenkins 30 years old (Ariot Lupes)
A traditional Fmjphoenix midfielder, his scoring skills are good, but his playmaking is what sets him apart from the others. His ability to read his opponents and creating scoring opportunities for the forwards put Jenkins near the top in assists.
Forward: #3 Mike Nolan(C) 44 years old (Waterloo United)
Even at the age of 44, Nolan has showed that he is still the top player in Fmjphoenix. With Russell coming into the scene, his presence will helpe mature Russell into an even better player
Forward: #7 Brian Dougood 35 years old (Lopinka, Vilita)
Dougood never had the chance to establish himself as the number one forward and instead developed into a secondary threat. His accurate strikes are still fearsome, as his shots still have lots of fire behind them.
Forward: #16 Jack Russell 19 years old (unattached)
Came in for Selphie Tiamatt during World Cup 29 and never lost the starting spot. He showed that he has the ability to score anywhere and anyhow. He will be a thrill to watch for many years to come
