ARASTOGIAN ELECTION RESULTS ARE IN!
90% of Arastoga's 408 million people voted in the national election Thursday
Maj. General Rodrick Matterhiem - WINNER
Matterhiem achieved 63% of the vote or 231,336,000 votes. Matterhiem is a neo conservative and war hero and military legend. To win the election he formed a coaltion of many political parties mainly, The National Militant Party (NMP), National Right Coalition (NRC), The Nation Veterans Party, Arastogian Conservative Party, Christian Falangist Party. He also recieved the endorsement of the National Rifle Association (NRA) and National Police Officer's Union. He has named the coalition of political groups the Arastogian Nationialist Party.
Senator Dr. Alicia Silvenstine - 2nd Place
Silvenstine a distant second grabbed 17% of the vote or 62,424,000 votes. Dr. Silvenstine is a senator from eastern Arastoga and head of the National Leftist Party. The reason that is seen as highly attributing to her loss is she had very few thoughts of her own and her campaign was mostly based on smear adds calling Matterhiem a nazi and a facist, however Matterhiem never directly denied the allagations.
Niles Hauser - 3rd Place
Hauser a close 3rd gained 16% of the vote or 58,752,000 votes. Hauser is the incumbent Prime Minister losing after only serving one term of six years. Hauser is a fiscal conservative, but a social liberal. Hauser was a mediocre Prime Minister, during his term, the stock market was boosted and the un employment rate fell, however Hauser was largley seen as an unconcerned and distant Prime Minister.
Hurinaihaka Krishna - 4th Place
Krishna gianed only .5% of the vote of or 18,360,000. Krishna is the leader of a cult encamped in the woods of south Arastoga. He and his supporters believe in the leaglization of drugs, but strongly detest the use of modern devices. (ex. TV, radio, etc.) Matterhiem has stated that one of his first acts as Prime Minister will be to arrest Krishna and his followers.
ALSO The Arastogian Nationalist Party swept the congressional elections holding 73 of the 100 congressional seats and 14 of 20 senate seats, giving Matterhiem frim grasp over the country.
