A Generation's Struggles

OOC: This is a continuation of the end of this thread (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=473224) and is therefore closed to everyone except those who were in that thread.

Also, thought I'd keep it in NS because the original thread was here.

Also, (as far as I can tell) up to date map (http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a381/Phoenix_Dace/danterimap11.jpg).

It had been a long time since Danteri had seen peace. Even before the beginning of the brutal civil war, the nation had been torn apart time and time again. Once the civil war came and went, the nation went through a period of foreign occupancy, in which several times a single nation or alliance of nations would, through conquest, occupy most of the mainland. The latest to do so was the nation of Dephire.

The Harakian occupants, essentially observers, had sat back and watched for most of the conflict, choosing to spend their time, money and energy rebuilding what land they controlled instead of squabbling over the scraps of the rest of the war-torn country. But as nation after nation methodically destroyed Danteri, pillaging the land of its occupants and killing all civilians they could get their hands on, the Harakians grew sicker and sicker of the war. They desired nothing more than to have it end. To unite Danteri under one banner, and make that banner that of Danteri once more and forever. To bring peace to a generation that had never known anything but war.

Diplomacy had failed. Several attempts in the past to unite the country under different leadership had failed before, one ending with, during the conference, one country backstabbing the other and invading them while their guard was dropped. In the end, after Dephire had secured most of the country, the only part left not under Dephirian control was the Harakian zone. Dephire and their allies, Undershi, had prepared to invade even that sanctuary, when Harakian alies stepped in, and through words alone forced the other two nations to back down. The Harakians were sick of this war. A diplomatic effort to reunite the nation under Harakian leadership was summarily rejected. It seemed to the Harakian diplomatic corps that the Dephirian leader, Alexander, had not even bothered to read it. Another chance was given, this time with the threat of force, and again it was denied.

It was at this point that foreign forces began to arrive in Danteri, arrayed against Dephire. First came Zukariaa's declaration that any forces fighting Dephire would have their military support in it. A Panteran expeditionary force had been deployed to the Harakian safe zone. A fleet of ships from Automagfreek were on their way to Danterian waters to invade. And Undershi, Dephire's former ally, had made covert talks with Haraki to assist in an invasion, which were agreed upon. A last-ditch, very belligerent cry for peace complete with a threat of a nuclear attack was the last message heard from Dephire. But the time for diplomacy had come and gone, and Dephire had rejected all proposed terms.

Now was the time for action.

6:35 AM, off the northwestern coast of Buil Bay, Danteri

Rear-Admiral Felias Locke stood on the bridge of the HNS Hydra, his new flagship. It was a massive ship, a nuclear-powered behemoth of an aircraft carrier, and its mission today was one of death and destruction. As he looked out over the water and the ship moved forward, he knew in less than an hour bombs would be falling, men would be hitting the ground, bullets would be flying, and men would be dying. It was grim to think about. But at the same time, it had taken far too long for the government to agree to such an operation, the forceful reunification of Danteri.

His eyes met four fighters cruising over the ship on patrol, based from the HNS Perseus carrier on his right. Planes from the Hydra were constantly loading and firing off its multiple catapults as well as those from the rest of his allotted task force, including the HNS Perseus and HNS Shrike carriers. Ahead of the Hydra was the impressively large HNS Chimera battleship, its massive guns waiting for the moment an order was given to fire.

His orders here were simple enough. The 8th Airborne Division would be making a paradrop in starting at seven in the morning. Already most of the transport planes being used for this operation were filled to the brim with paratroopers. Once the airborne had landed it would be met by two divisions landing from the sea, the 3rd Cavalry and 102nd Infantry divisions landing from the sea as part of Task Force Locke. The Cavalry would come in their helicopters, the Infantry from the sea in landing craft.

Locke watched as so many planes took off from his three carriers. They were all launching and none landing, preparing for a series of massive strikes against the Dephirian garrison there. Beginning at 6:45, fifteen minutes before the heavily escorted transports would arrive and begin dropping paratroopers, the first wave of strikes would be launched, by sixty planes from the three carriers, aimed at anti-aircraft sites, supply depots, communications relays, and command posts. Five minutes later, another sixty planes would strike further similar targets. At seven sharp, a further sixty would hit, followed by forty more ten minutes after that, forty more ten minutes after that, another forty ten minutes later, and the three carriers' fifty remaining planes would participate in permanent air superiority and strikes as needed over the target area. Meanwhile, the HNS Chimera's six massive 500mm (19.7") guns would pound any targets as needed, along with the HNS Cancer's 375mm (15") guns and the smaller guns of several cruisers.

The operation looked to be running smoothly so far. Locke was certain his part of the offensive would go just fine. From intelligence reports, the forces at Buil Bay were not even very large or well-equipped.

6:40 AM, Haraki-Dephirian Frontier, Danteri

Major-General Gregory Neil put his head in his hands. He was supposed to be in command of one of the spearheading divisions of the offensive taking place in twenty minutes, but he didn't know if he could do it. The 72nd Infantry was ready, but he was very close to asking them to take him off active command. He felt this operation was being conducted all wrong. He didn't agree with Gholgothian involvement. Their lack of respect for human life was worse than that of the Zukariaans, whose handiwork he had seen first hand, the gruesome remains of cities and towns that had been slaughtered. They had found one survivor, out of thousands.

And now he was expected to be the war hero he was made out to be, leading Harakian forces together with Panteran forces across the frontier and into Dephirian territory, sending men to their deaths. These men had served with him in so many places, through so much. They had been the heroic units that crossed the supposedly-impenetrable river in the war with the SSA. Some of them had served in the New Harakian crisis. They had maintained order in Danteri together. And now it would all be gone. Men who had survived all that would go to their deaths now.

He wanted to resign, to turn in his commission then and there. Perhaps to file under conscientious objector status and be relieved of duty and honourably discharged. But what would he do with his life? He wasn't old enough to retire. He'd spent his entire life as a soldier, and most of it as an officer. He wouldn't know what to do. He couldn't be a mechanic, or a taxi driver. His head was full of strategies, tactics, ideals. He imagined a world where men like him weren't needed, and at the same time his military mind told him it could never happen.

He was a mess. And it was in this messed up state that he greeted Lieutenant Steven Trapp of the CEF into his office. Trapp entered unannounced and unbidden. Neil didn't even know he was there until he heard him speak. "Sir, shouldn't you be out with the men?"

He looked up at Trapp, who was looking down with what seemed to be a mix of open defiance, curiosity and brilliance. "Lieutenant? What are you doing here?"

"Told to report to you for orders. Found out you weren't outside where you would have been a month ago but rather in here, apparently suling yourself to death. Sir."

Neil sat up straight. "What?"

Trapp placed his hands on Neil's desk, leaning in close. "You heard me, general. Now listen. I know I could be court-martialled for speaking like this, and I don't give a fuck. Your men are out there, getting ready to fight and die for the good of the people of Danteri, and you're sitting in here moping like a sixth greade schoolgirl. Pull yourself together, sir. And, with all due respect, get out there and lead your damn men."

He stood up straight again and gave Neil the sharpest salute Neil had ever seen him give before Trapp stiffly turned and walked out of his office. Neil muttered something to himself as he realized Trapp had been right. He was fucking about. The 72nd Infantry was going against Dephire, whether he led them or not. But with him leading them, he could do his best to stop them from dying. He would do his best.

He pulled himself together, got out there, and led his damn men.

6:40 AM, off the northern coast of Easthaven, Danteri

Admiral Steven Tyrell stood holding the railing of the bridge of his flagship, the HNS Arkia battleship. He was the commander, and it felt damned good. He had already given his orders for the operations to begin, and now his decisions were no longer needed for the moment. He could get some air. Fresh sea air. Looking down at the Arkia's massive armament below him, he grinned at the thought. Massive shells would come out of those barrels in a few minutes, rush off to their target destination, and explode. Ah, the marvels of modern engineering.

He had made the overall plan in corordination with the commander of ground forces, General Adam Shartz. It was an interesting choice, the appointment of the two of them. Tyrell had a short fuse for idiots and foreign dignitaries, and was more than willing to invade people, and Shartz was the most openly hostile and pro-Gholgothian military tactics person in the Harakian military. And high command - or rather, the prime minister - had chosen to place them both together in the same place and operation. He didn't know why, but he thanked the person responsible. He got to work with some real professionals in his job, and sometimes he just wanted a man like his personal friend Adam to be by his side. The combination of Steven Tyrell and Adam Shartz' command together with other Gholgothian leaders would prove altogether bad for Dephire. Thinking back, he reflected on the plan formulated by his predecessors and given slight tweaks by himself.

First would come the missile strike. Trebuchet missiles, one of the marvels of Harakian engineering, would come smashing out of the sky onto important targets. Hundreds of them would rain from the sky. Nearly impossible to stop once launched, Trebuchet missiles were one of Haraki's best, most effective weapons of war. After launch, they rapidly climbed to slightly over seventy kilometres above sea level, travelled to their target at that height, and then dove. Computers inside them kept them on target, and by the time they actually reached the ground they were travelling several times the speed of sound and going directly vertical. At such extreme heights, they were impossible to detect on all but the best radar, with the same parameters going for shooting them down if detected. Once they were at their target, they were all-but impossible to stop, and hit with a 450 kg warhead - the same as a Tomahawk missile.

A volley of these - hundreds of these - would be used as a first strike. They would hit important command and logistical targets. Command posts, headquarters, relay stations, communications posts, supply and ammunition dumps, airfields - everything that kept the Dephirian forces organized and running smoothly. Many of these targets would be completely annihilated by the missile strike. The rest would be hit by the following air strike, designed to hit only four minutes after the missiles struck.

The air strike would consist of attack planes and fighters launching missile salvoes at remaining targets, this time aimed mainly at crippling Dephirian offensive capabilities. Large groups of these planes were already in the air on their way to Dephirian airbases and naval bases, where they would attack planes on the ground and ships in port. A preliminary fighter group would go ahead to destroy anti-aircraft sites at the targets for the second wave. Interceptors were in the air ready to intercept any fighters that got away or any planes that attempted to attack the Harakian air force or cross over to attack the Harakian ground troops.

The remainder of the air strike - the second wave - would be a massive bombing campaign by the heavy bombers and their escort fighters. The fighters would be there to protect the bombers and take out any planes or anti-aircraft sites remaining after the first wave hit. The second wave would be only five minutes afterwards, and the hundred and twenty assorted heavy bombers and escort fighters of the 1st Advanced Bomber Wing would hit them hard. The bombers would drop a massive payload of carpet bombs, flattening everything in their blast radius and destroying vehicles, tents, buildings, killing soldiers - basically annihilating Dephire's frontline troops.

Then would come the ground assault. Supported where possible by naval forces from the coast, Harakian and Panteran ground forces would advance across the frontier into the areas already devastated by the air strikes. They would eliminate whatever resistance remained along the frontier and then carry on, fanning out into the rest of Danteri, attacking Dephirian forces and capturing territory. All the planes not taking part in the initial strike would be in the air or on five minute standby, providing close air support, air superiority and helping out any gorund or naval forces calling for help.

It was a good plan, he reflected. And it was happening as he thought to himself. The missiles were already in the air. The planes for the air strike were already in the air. The ground forces were ready to advance at a moment's notice. The 8th Airborne's transports would be reaching their destination in twenty minutes, following three rounds of bombardment by carrier-based aircraft.

The landing up north was also his idea. Although it meant less forces could take part in the actual invasion down south, intelligence reported Dephirian forces were much less concentrated in the north, near where the three Harakian divisions would land at Buil Bay, and they would be able to grab significant amounts of territory before any significant counterattack could be brought against them. At that point valuable Dephirian forces would be being pulled away from the main front against Haraki and Pantera to deal with the northern landing. Alternately, the lading would be ignored in favour of sending all available troops to the front, and vast tracts of land would be seized without a fight, hopefully ultimately leading to the northern forces catching Dephirian armies in a pincer manoeuvre with those from the south.

It was a good plan, Shartz had said. Tyrell had thought so as well.

Total annihilation, multiple fronts, and overwhelming air superiority. Not to mention the Automagfreek fleet advancing from the north-east, and the Transylvanian forces approaching from who knows where. It made Tyrell smile. It almost made him laugh. But he would save that for after the fighting.
Undershi
24-09-2006, 00:52
The Undershi forces in their bases along the western coast of Danteri had long finished their preparations. Most of the men and machines that had once waited, arrayed, ironically enough, against the norms they now fought alongside.
These Dephirans were a menace to civilized society. That much was clear. Now the Undershi were prepared to do their part - already the first of their units, the entierty of their one armoured unit, the 42nd Armoured Division, made ready to launch the spear-head assault. The Dephirans, like NSAA before them, would soon learn what it meant to annoy the Undershi government.
In all, three Divisions would take part in this attack - two of Janissary infantry, and one of Regular Army Armour. That was... that was enough, at least, to force the creation of a second front. Supported by the aircraft of the carrier Rosseau, it might even be enough to attack and hold...

So it begins. It is a shame we must push these idiots out with force. It is quite ironic that we are now working together, but we might just make some allies out of this conflict. We'll be launching into Buil Bay, if you don't mind.

My men will enjoy this one.

Signed, Josef Kyler

A fleet of 50 ships approached Danteri near Buil Bay, awaiting a responce. In the center of the formation was a flagship, a superdreadnought by the name of the Zukariaa. Around it were battleships, cruisers, carriers, support craft, and beneath were about a dozen submarines. Several hundred planes were readied to launch and bomb Dephirian defences and facilities.

Nearly 200,000 Zukariaan men were sent for the conflict. It would take two launches to get them all on land. Now was the last conflict for the Danteri people. This was the war for Danteri's freedom.

Even though I oppose this entire conflict, I thank you for going towards military action. Maybe this will be a wake up call to Alexander that he is not all-powerful. I ask of this, however, please allow me to make landfall in one of your territories to set up a small force to fight against these Loyalist Scum! They have been corrupted by power! Now they must be punished for their arrogance. Please, I ask of you, allow me to attack them myself as well as you.

OOC: Yes, I was listening. Vega is currently not in power in Dephire, and therefore has no bearing on my IC actions against Dephire. Besides which, ICly I have no knowledge of what's going on with Vega, just about his one broadcast message saying Alexander needed to be removed. As these plans were in place long before any of this latest Alexander/Vega struggle started taking place, they were carried out. IC actions, IC responses. OOCly I'd be quite happy for Vega to take over and peacefully reunite Danteri. ICly, I don't give a damn anymore. It's either a Dephirian surrender of all Danterian land, or the bombs keep falling.

Although we have had our differences in the past, I think it for the best that we now work together to ensure a safe and secure future for Danteri. As I write this my forces are securing a beachhead on Buil Bay and will from there be expanding outwards. Your forces will be permitted to utilize this beachhead for the purposes of fighting Dephire on the following conditions:

1) All land captured by Zukariaan forces is to be handed over to Haraki at the end of the campaign.
2) You don't fuck up any more Danterians.
3) You don't shoot any Harakians.

If any of these terms is broken, it is entirely possible and in all likelihood extremely probable that Harakian guns will be turned on you once we finish with Dephire. This is not a threat. This is a fact, a statement, and a friendly FYI. I look forward to working with you.

[To: Commander, Undershi Forces, Danteri]

I appreciate your help in this coming conflict. However, I must lay down three conditions which I am going to apply to all non-Gholgothian participants in this Anti-Dephirian coalition.

1) All land captured by Undershi forces is to be handed over to Haraki at the end of the campaign.
2) Preferably, no collateral damage is to be inflicted. If at all possible, keep civilian deaths to zero. We are not in this war to destroy Danteri again. We are in it to help them.
3) No hostile action is to be taken against Harakian, Gholgothian or other allied forces.

Thank you for your cooperation. I'll see you in the middle of Danteri.

I would be more than willing to allow you and your forces to utilize the Buil Bay beachhead, currently in use by Harakian and Zukariaan forces, for your troops to land and assist in this operation, on three conditions:

1) All land captured by Vegan forces is to be handed over to Haraki at the end of the campaign.
2) Preferably, no collateral damage is to be inflicted. If at all possible, keep civilian deaths to zero. We are not in this war to destroy Danteri again. We are in it to help them.
3) No hostile action is to be taken against Harakian, Gholgothian or other allied forces.

Follow these, and we have no problems. Good luck and good hunting.

8:00 AM, Bridge of the HNS Arkia, off the north coast of Easthaven

Steven Tyrell looked at the list. it had been transmitted from an apparent defector from the Dephirian military, and marked a long list of those who would not ever defect - forces obscenely loyal to Alexander.

Preliminary reports were starting to come in from the first strike, which seemed at this point to have been overwhelmingly successful. It had been a little under an hour since the ground forces had begun advancing on the wreckage left behind from the initial Harakian bombardment. He was thinking. Of course, the apparent defections could be a clever trick by the Dephirians, but for some reason he didn't think so. He liked this Vega guy. Bit of an idealist, the way Shartz described General Neil, but he seemed to have his head on straight.

He accepted the list, passing it along to those co-ordinating the air attacks and giving instructions to prioritize those areas for further strikes later in the morning once the aircraft not on support and standby - those that had taken part in the first strike - were refuelled, rearmed and back in the air. Now it was time to exploit the situation with the two conflicting Dephirian forces for Harakian benefit.

[To: All Dephirian soldiers]

I am seeing reports that many of you wish to defect from Alexander's side to Vega's. However, this is best served not by turning your guns on each other. Instead of proclaiming your support and staying where you are, set down your weapons, sabotage any heavy weaponry you are supposed to be manning, and make your way to the nearest Harakian forces to surrender. If you remain where you are and choose to instead fight against your comrades, I cannot and will not guarantee your safety. Our weaponry cannot distinguish between an Alexanderite or a Vegan.

One day.

Vidimir's fleet had braved the choppy seas the first two nights out, but would arrive well within time to commence the liberation of Danteri. Fifty thousand strong were the Sentinels under his command, all battle hardened from the Kraven wars and lusting for the sting of combat once more. In conjunction with the Haraki and Panteran armies that would be joining in, it would be a force to be reckoned with.

Send one final warning to those in Danteri. I'm feeling generous today.

His command was executed without delay, and a message to all Dephire forces was broadcast over open air waves.

************

Attention all armies under the banner of Dephire.

I care not wether you are friend or foe in this conflict. Lord Dreadfire's command is simple: leave Danteri immediately or suffer death at the hands of my Sentinels. Danteri will be reunited and become a sovereign nation once more. I care not for any explanations, because ALL foreign intruders will either leave peacefully or be removed in body bags.

I am also not buying this sudden turn around in your ranks in support of Danteri. We have enough experience in warfare to know such spontanious tactics are bullshit, and for the safety of Gholgothian forces you are ALL to vacate before we arrive. We will kill any Dephirian soldier we see, regardless of what their supposed affiliation is.

Once we are done purging the lands of Danteri of you heathens, we will leave Danteri upon their request and allow them to move forward.

Know this, your homeland is also in our crosshairs. It would be a shame to have your populace suffer because of your imperialistic ambitions.

Soon enough, large explosions echoed through the forests. A wall, or so it appeared to be, of Alexander Loyalists approached the territorial boundary lines. Apocalypse tanks appeared as large masses of darkness that casted huge shadows over the land. Now, any Vegan soldier left inside would have to stay inside. There was no way out...

The Dominionite forces would be approaching from who knows where, the Dominion did have control over land location all over the world. The Dominionite Protectorate of St. Wolfenstein in Gholgoth. The Wolfe Island and the Angel Island chain, both located in Irathria. Wolfingrad, Dominion controlled Kikko Island. Habrigberg, the Dominionite Protectorate of Sanduras and Wolfsburg, the Dominionite Protectorate of Rith-naar. And the newest conquered land, the Dominionite Protectorate of Kologk. And that is not counting the bases in the mainland, the Dominion control of most of Europe and Western Russia.

The Dominion has many placed to launch their bombers, their carriers of death, their bringers of deadly rain. These poor fools starting a fight with Gholgothian, now they would paid for that foolish action with their lives. The Wraith of the Dominion would be heard and it would be loud enough for the others to hear, to hear what happens when somebody mess with the Dominion or her allies.

The Dominion would hit the Dephirans hard for two days or longer, the Dominionite navy fleet would be near or there by that time. Maybe the soldiers on those transport ships would not be need but it better to have them.

And the time was now, the strike has began. If anybody was watching Dominionite territories, they would see bombers enter the sky at every air base in those territories. From the mainland to Wolfsburg, which one had one base that can land bombers, B-52 Stratofortress heavy bombers entered the skies. Hundreds of hundreds of these bombers entered the air. More bombers were entering the air, B-1B Lancer multi-role long-range bombers by the hundreds. The wraith of the Dominion was coming to the light.

These bombers armed with cluster bombs to general purpose bombs to incendiary bombs would enter the airspace of Danteri in seven hours or longer. The fun was coming to the north-east of Dephiran controlled land.

Speeding up the time, seven hours later and the fun started in the north-east. The bombers moved in and start their bombing runs on Dephiran military bases. Perparing their bomber bays, preparing their bombs. It was all fun for the Dominionite bomber crews, most of them were laughing. Some of them because it was a long trip to fly. Most of them did not care that enemy anti-air would be firing at them, this was the life of the bomber crews.

4:18 PM, inside the Dephirian side of the frontier

Adam Shartz almost grinned when he saw the reports of Dephirian reinforcements coming out to fight the Gholgothian forces. The initial air and missile strike had been resoundingly successful, completely eliminating Dephirian defensive and offensive capabilities at the frontier and, presumably, killing many of their highest-ranked officers, creating confusion in the ranks. Many of their units, out of supply and with officers missing, had defected to the name of Vega and surrendered to the advancing Harakian ground forces. There had been no ground combat yet. Every time the Harakians found Dephirian forces they were either surrendering or devastated from the bombing campaign. The Harakians had, of course, used this time to advance as far as possible, seizing valuable landmarks and strategic locations.

Now, nine hours into the advance, there was finally going to be combat. And Shartz had prepared a special surprise for the new forces: Another round of carpet bombing.

Although this time they would be expecting it more than before, and thus he did not expect as significant a percentage of losses as last time, he knew it would still throw them into a state of shock. Most of the air forces from the initial strike had been refuelled and rearmed, with the heavy bombers prioritized. By now they were back in the air and heading off for a blanket bombardment of the advancing Dephirian troops. Following up would be a wave of the close air support fighters with long-range anti-tank missiles to take out the Apocalypse tanks.

And then, after these strikes were finished, came the artillery bombardment. Aside from the self-propelled artillery accompanying the advancing ground forces, those units within range of the Harakian naval units would find themselves pounded by the 425mm (16.7 in) guns of the four Atherlon-class battleships deployed to the theatre. These shells, designed to take out enemy capital ships, were capable of tearing right through the armour of a tank as well as that of the surrounding infantry and destroying significant amounts of those around them.

Only once all that had taken place would gorund forces engage in close combat. The Harakians, mostly infantry divisions, were fully mechanized with tank brigades thrown into the infantry divisions, helicopter gunships providing support overhead, and close air support aircraft over those. Two fully armoured divisions, complete with brigades of heavy tanks, were set at two different places on the line, and would be dispatched to where the most Dephirian tanks remained after the bombardment ceased.

Several thousand anti-air missiles were fired from the bases. Many of the still operational Dominator-Class Rail Cannons fired at thirty minute intervals, most of them from the Dephirian Homeland. Many Stonehenge-Class rail cannons were quickly dismantled by Vegan forces..but they were slaughtered.

It was too late for any Vegan to escape, but they assisted many of the Danteri Citizens into underground bunkers that should keep them alive.

More Anti-Aircraft Missiles were fired. Now they were using Electro-Magnetic Pulse Rounds.

This was enough to distract many of the Loyalists for some more Separists to escape...but it wasn't enough for all.

Thirty Thousand Loyalists would die. Ten Thousand Separists. Twenty thousand Danteri Civilians.

Vidimir smiled as the mainland began to appear on his scopes. While he was still out of artillery and aircraft range, he was just barely able to reach out with his cruise missiles. Twenty five ships fired the first Freekish salvo in this war, the satellites in the heavens guiding the missiles towards their targets. The first barrage would support the Haraki forces already on the ground, while future vollies would be directed towards the soon to be Freekish beach head.

The message from the Dephirian forces on the ground made him chuckle as well. Damn cowards obviously haven't any sense of loyalty. They're already deserting by the hundreds of thousands.....

To all Dephirian forces that are standing down:

Automagfreek will handle all prisoner detention, and all surrendering forces are to report to our checkpoints unarmed. Heed this warning: should but one of you violate this trust and sneak weapons, bombs, knives, or viruses into our camps, we will waste the lot of you. No quarter will be given, and you all will be butchered where you stand.

One bad apple will certainly spoil the bunch, as treachery and acts of guerilla warfare during this surrender will not be tolerated. Our landing zone will be established within the next 24 hours, and you may report under white flag of truce at your convenience.

Time continued to dwindle, and knowing that the hour was drawing closer, Vidimir ordered his fleet to move into combat positions. General quarters was sounded, and within seconds his warships began to change formation. They began to spread themselves wide, with aerial and submarine perimeters widening by the minute.

The transports that contained the first wave of Sentinels made ready, for they would soon be thrust into the action. Amphibious light armor also made ready to deploy into the waters as soon as the transports emarked for land, which would soon be followed by heavy armor and artillery.

Send word to the Harakian forces in the field that we are almost here. If they wish to designate a landing zone for us, they may do so. They have more tactical knowledge about what is going on down on the ground than we do.

Captain Frederick Tylers of the HNS Aurora was receiving reports so fast he didn't know what to do with them. The Aurora was a missile cruiser - that is, its job was to act as a floating, moving missile arsenal. Its role in the operation at this point was to be sent individual threats and take them out with cruise missiles. It was not the only ship allocated to this task. Several other missile cruisers in Harakian-Danterian waters were also on this duty, as well as missile launch sites on the ground.

Right now the main targets being sent to him were all the pesky anti-aircraft guns that escaped the first strike, and any large-scale artillery present in Danteri such as the rail cannons that were firing on the advancing ground forces. Besides the Trebuchet missile whish had been so deadly in the initial missile salvo, the Aurora was also equipped with regular Lightning Bolt cruise missile launchers, which would fly on a regular trajectory to their target. These were the main two missiles being used in the retaliatory strikes against anti-aircraft and heavy artillery sites.

Of course, the massive cannons operating from the Dephirian homeland were an entirely different story, and one that's time has come to be told.

Commodore Jeremy Stokes looked through the periscope. There was no one around. No ships, no land, nothing. Perfect.

He sat back and allowed the submarine crew to do their job. They rose up out of the water smoothly, bringing the submarine to a slow crawl through the water as Stokes took a quick look around from the top of the submarine. Around him, twelve others surfaced. The thirteen Harakian submarines were in international waters off the Dephirian coast, well within range of cruise missile strikes against the Dominator rail cannons. Each of these submarines was a Twilight-class nuclear-powered missile carrier, and each one of them was as deadly as the weapons they carried. In this case they were outfitted with Trebuchets and Lightning Bolts. The Lightning Bolts would strike the smaller, less important targets - smaller rail cannons, coastal defence batteries, missile launch silos, anti-missile or anti-aircraft defences - while the Trebuchets went for the real targets: The Dominators.

Stokes went back below and gave the order to fire. He was obeyed quickly and without question, and fifty-two cruise missiles shot off into the sky, destined for targets which had proved a nuisance and a threat to the operations in Danteri.

Once this mission was accomplished and the missiles had been fired, the thirteen submarines dove down to 100 metres, split up, and made their way back to friendly waters. They would be replaced by a new shift of submarines off the Dephirian coast but outside territorial waters, ready for any more missile strikes needed on the Dephirian homeland.

Perhaps the most ominous thing was that each of the submarines also carried at least one nuclear warhead-equipped missile. Not for a pre-emptive strike, but as a security measure. Mutually Assured Destruction, only not computerized.

The message sent back to Vidimir was short and to the point, as usual from Tyrell himself.

Anywhere on the north-east coast is the best place for a landing. Let's give these bastards a three-front war.

The Sigman forces quickly finish their preparations and take to the air. A starting force of two dozen troop planes and one dozen vehicle transport planes are in the air, leaving behind the gleaming sands of their home. Each transport bore the blood red moon of the Sigman flag, the only bit of color on the otherwise entirely black transports.

In all 960 SOET, 16 Death Adder anti-infantry tanks, 12 Pit Viper MBTs, a single WBT-1 and 4 Command vehicles as well as enough mechanics and supplies for all vehicles were in the air. A small force compared to what the Panteran, Haraki and Freekish forces would surely be putting in, but more would come.

General Caleb Trest of the SOET stared out the window as the sand faded away to an ocean. The first outbound Sigman force in years, and he would make sure that there were no mistakes. Out the window, he could see one of the aerial convoy's escort fighters. Long ago, thousands of Sigmans had been shot down as they're transports had been left undefended, and that was a mistake that would never be made again.

"Only a matter of time... This shouldn't take too long." His staff looked up at him, but he went back to staring out the window.

OOC-This is moving rather fast.. O.o

The Zukariaan forces quickly unloaded over 5000 vehicles, including 500 tanks, 500 jeeps, and many, many support vehicles. They began to take cities as they marched forward, killing whatever Dephirian forces would be in their way, and liberating whatever Danteri were in them. They knew that the people would fear them for what they had done, and this was their chance to regain the trust.

Bombers continues their flights through the skies, bombing any Dephirian forces, regardless of their affiliation to Vega or Alexander. The Zukariaans did not have time to check what they were.

The fleet, which was no longer doing anything, moved north to bombard the coast and launch more bombers where the former Solorian "Stronghold" was. They telegramed all forces, telling them to raise the white flag or be destroyed.

The main target for Zukariaan forces attacking Danteri was to capture Danteri City. The place was no doubt a place of importance for the Dephirian control in Danteri, as it had always been a major place in Danteri.

OOC-Again.. I don't really know much about where any of Dephire's stuff is. It hasn't been really clarified. Neither have losses. I'm simply telling what my forces are doing for now. Sorry if my posts are bad.. <_<

Capitol City of Alexandria, Dephire:

Two sounds came from outside of Alexander's Office door. They were like 'thuds' and then the sound of something being dragged along the ground. Silence came, but now Alex was getting nervous. He ran for his semi-automatic pistol just as the doors flew open and ten armed men entered followed by one man with a scar that went from temple to jaw.

"Alexander. You are hereby under arrest for murder on a massive scale."

Alexander nodded then laughed as he pushed a button from under his desk.
"You are good, Vega. Seeing how you got into the Tower without difficulty."

"Without difficulty? I had five thousand men storm this place and this is all I have left! Now stand down or I will take the throne the Ancient Dephirian way!"

"Over my dead body!"

Alexander fired upon the men, but they were swift. Vega raised his pistol, and fired a single shot. From there, it was as if the bullet traveled in slow motion. It speeded out of the barrel, and found Alexander's head. Death was instant. Vega had now become the Emperor of Dephire.

OOC: I didn't mention anything about the retaliation because, as described in the original post, all known-about anti-aircraft sites (Which includes anti-aircraft missile launchers, railguns, etc.) were struck by missiles before any of the bombers arrive. Whether the missiles were cruise missiles or long-range air-to-ground missiles from escort planes, every known anti-aircraft site considered a threat was bombed before any of the planes came in range.

After that, there were escort fighters there, with one of their purposes and capabilities being to send air-to-ground missiles into any anti-aircraft sites that poked their heads up to shoot at my bombers. Also, now that the first strike is over, any dangerous sites that poke their heads out will be hit by cruise missiles.

7:20 PM, onboard the HNS Arkia off the north coast of Easthaven, Danteri

It had been slightly over half a day since the first bombs had fallen and the first troops had advanced. They had been engaged with the Dephirian reinforcements for several hours now, without any serious threat to the advance. The Harakian-Panteran-Sigman forces, as far as he could tell, outnumbered their opponents and had overwhelming air superiority. From what he could tell, almost all of Dephire's air capabilities had been destroyed on the ground, which gave the Gholgothian forces total and overwhelming superiority in the air, and left them free to launch whatever strikes they wanted.

Any Dephirian anti-aircraft sites that decided to fire at Harakian planes or just decided to appear on radar were made the targets of long-range missile strikes, either from planes outiftted with the Harakian-made Hydra-120G missiles, fire-and-forget from 80 kilometres away, or from cruise missiles from the ships and missile sites. The troops were having a fairly easy time of it, with any problems having attack planes called in on them, although going was slow in the face of the still large but disorganized Dephirian forces. From what Tyrell had seen, the original missile strike designed to disorganize them and take out key leaders had done its job, and now the power struggle between Alexander and Vega had them wondering who they should really be fighting.

He still didn't know whether the cruise missile strike on those damn rail cannons back in Dephire had been successful. There were no available satellites over Dephire for the rest of today, and it was too dangerous for recon planes.

And now came a new message out of all the chaos that was Dephirian politics. Apparently Alexander had been killed and Vega had taken the seat of power away from him, ordering all units back to the homeland. Of course, there would be some that didn't listen to him. They would be mopped up. In fact, even those that did listen to him would be mopped up. It was time for a new, public proclamation. He headed back inside, just as the HNS Arkia fired off a round of shells towards the shore, and Tyrell smiled.

[To: All Dephirian forces]

I hear Vega is your new leader. This is somewhat relevant and somewhat irrelevant. Gholgothian forces are going to continue advancing until all of Danteri is under our direct command. Anyone that stands in our way will be eliminated. This leaves you with the same three choices as before, only without an insane and power-hungry madman to back you up. You can surrender, you can run back to Dephire, or you can keep fighting, keep being fought, and keep dying. The choice is yours. Remember that if you surrender you will not be harmed (Unless you try something stupid) and will eventually be released back to Dephire safely once a secure government is in place.

Though the coup had taken place in Dephire, the forces of Vidimir Breathstealer continued on undaunted. The landing craft had already began moving forward towards the designated landing zones, which intelligence suggested that resistance was likely to be minimal due to the remote locations there were landing at. Being ever vigilant, Vidimir ordered his ships to maintain a state of suspicious awareness while he took to his own transport ship and prepared to touch down alongside his men.

Several miles down the coast another Sentinels landing had already taken place, though with the massive surrenders and defections resistance there was almost non-existant. However, they would not be taking any chances, and wasted no time in securing a LZ while bringing heavy armor ashore. The orders at both sites were simple: kill any and all armed resistance fighters and secure prisoners.

The Sentinels legions then formed into platoons and began moving out in all directions, their light to medium armor accompanying them while the "second wave" would be supplied with heavy tanks. Send word to our allied forces that we are on the ground and preparing the begin clearing out Danteri.

Aircraft screamed overhead in search of any pockets of still beligerrent fighters, ready to strafe them and send coordinates back to the soon to be ready artillery crews. The light Hellcat fighters would not be sticking around the any long battle, for they were simply a scout force that worked in conjunction with Freekish satellites overhead.

As Vidimir stepped out of his craft, he cocked his weapon and ordered his squad to form on him. Second platoon, on me. We head west.

Dominion bombers, the one not fast enough to deploy flares, took hits from anti-air round and missiles and fell from the sky, their crew escaping as the plane head towards the ground. Some were pointed at Dephirian bases. The bombing run continued on. They would not be stopped because of they were losing bombers, their mission was to level as many Dephirian bases in the north-east. From the coast to the inland.

The bombers were the Grim Reapers and the Dephirian soldiers were their souls. Ripe for the taking. As bomber fell form the sky, it was replace by five more from one of the territories or the mainland. The Dominion was famous for her ground forces and air forces, so they had a large number of bombers.

One area of the coast, about hundred and fifty-five miles north of Harakian land, was hit by five bomber runs, it was going to be the landing zone for the Dominion transports. All land was bombed for five miles in every way. But it was about to be took by Dominion soldiers.

They were traveling in C-13 JackRabbit supersonic cargo aircrafts, which were launched in the havoc of the Dominion bombers being launched, so nobody would know they were cargo planes. These cargo planes were coming beyond the radar, flying low to the water towards the beach.

They numbered in at twenty, all black with the flag of the Dominion painted on each side. They were carrying hundred soldiers each, all soldiers of the 1st Blood Wolves, in brick red and black Transylvanian body armor, armed with a DR-83 tactical rifle, an AMA7000 9mm sidearm, two Wild Tiger Commando Knives or two Demon Axes. Some had a Master Guard general purpose machine gun, a AMA7 belt fed machine gun or AMA8 belt fed machine gun.

These soldiers were about land in some land not their own, to hold the beach for more Dominion soldiers to come. The planes were coming low, each one next to each other. They were not going to land or try to land, they would open the back cargo door and the soldiers would be pulled out.

The soldiers are sitting in a what looks like an armored box, as long as the cargo hold and but as tall as the cargo hold door, three parachutes would be thrown out and the box would be pulled out.

It was now, the back door opened and the parachutes were readied to be thrown. The back of each plane was filled with red light then yellow light. Right as the light changed to green, the parachutes were set off and flew out the back door. The armored box were pulled out of the cargo planes, they moved fast to towards the ground. The parachutes slowed it down but the landing was would be a hard one.

The boxes hit the ground, continued onwards on the bombed beach. They slowed down after sliding on the beach, soon the back door was open and soldiers moved out. With everything bomb for five miles inland, they would not be a living being in the area. So…it would be some what save.

A message was radio to allied forces. “The Dominionites have landed.”

In Alexander's Camp
An Oklahoman scout team arrived into Alexandes camp and they greated his aides warmly. Each had a small pleasure in knowing what Alexander did not. They knew of two things specifically each of great importance to the conflict. One heard the crackle of his radio and excused himself to take the message.
Captain Brigman are you there?
"Yessir" replied Brigman.
Continue with Plan A105, lay the stuff, you know what to do
"I will do it sir"
Yes you will Brigman and you shall not fail
"No sir"
Godspeed Brigman
"Yessir"
He put down the radio and returned to the others.
"Lets go" he said, "we have a job to do."
They all nodded their heads in agreement for they knew what the had to do.
As the left one of Laexander's aides commented "One of those soldiers looks afmiliar. The girl who stayed back and said nothing. Here face is so familiar, but I cannot place it."
It must be nothingHe thought. But he knew the face but he knew not who the face belonged to. He did not sleep that night
3:10AM Outside of Alexander's Camp
All of the camp were asleep except for Oklahoman special forces detatchment A105. They had a job and they were performing it. No one could hear them so the digging had to be oh so perfectly quiet. Slowly but surely they progressed, moving closer and closer to the camp. The sentries noticed the slihgt shaking of the ground but made no note of it. For in such a geologically active region, small quakes are common. Finally at the break of dawn the men moved out.
"Quicky" said Brigman, we have less thatn 30 minutes.
6:57AM
As Brigman and his men sat watching from a nearby hill they waited for this minute. Then it came. A massive fireball arose from Alexander's camp, the massive cloud of fire and jellied gasoline raged and raged.
Oh how good a job well done feels Thought Brigman.

Speaker Drew Haltom called Commander-General Jonathan Szot on his cell phone. With so much action going on, it was hard to keep up.

"Szot, they've begun," were his first words, shortly interrupted by CGN Szot.

"Yessir, we're listening over the comm. lines now. What do you want us to do?"

"We can't afford much. What do you think," Haltom inquired. The SCAF was still in the midst of reforming, with some million troops still in training.

"Well sir, I figure the best we could really do would be a company, at the most. Most of the units that are already fully trained are aiding with the training of other troops. Nearly all troops are still undergoing some type of training. I'd say our best bet would be a single company, under their own power," CGN Szot replied as he thought of a good company to send.

"Well, Szot, do you have any idea of who to throw in there?" Haltom replied.

"Actually, sir, yes I do. Frog Company, Second Battalion, Third Infantry Division, to be exact. Sixty-five men of top caliber. I can have them mobilized and on a C-130 in four hours," CGN Szot said, asserting his trust in the men.

"Alright then, make it happen. I want them in the air as soon as possible. They are to report to the nearest Automagfreek commander in the area after they touch down. They will receive instructions from there. Got that?"

"Howard that, Drew."

Haltom hung the phone up, looked around, and proceeded to call his secretary into his office.

"Ilene, would you please contact Automagfreek forces in the Dephire area and let them know that within six hours, they'll have one company of SCAF troops at their side?"

"Yessir, Mr. Haltom," the secretary spoke, as she left the office and proceeded to go about her duties.

Oberst Luisa Rhurlunder was tired. The Neue Neue Deutsch forces in Danteri were, of course, supporting the Haraki, and while their contributions would be minimal, the organization and logistics required to set them on their course were not insignificant.
Already, flights of combat aircraft, flown by Neue Neue Deutsch pilots but until recently part of the Haraki military, were taking part in the raids, while the 1st and 3rd battalions of the NNDEF made their final preparations for an advance that would see them linking moving in on positions held by die-hard Dephiran fanatics... an operation that, even supported as it was by massive aerial forces, didn't look to be either easy or, or likely to result in only a few cassualties.
Still, even as she planned operations that would see dozens, no, not dozens, rather hundreds, if not thousands of Neue Neue Deutsch soldiers die, she still had time to pause, sipping from a styrofoam cup of cold coffee, and make a quick e-mail to a certain Major-General of the Haraki armed forces:

Hi there. Greg, things are getting ugly, aren't they? Still, even if things are looking bad, this does look to be the last war that these poor Danterians will have to put up with, doesn't it? That's worth something, I have to say. As for the lunch meeting that this most recent crisis forced us to abort, well, how about after the fighting is over? After all, there are so many things we need to discuss.

"...And thus ends a regime in which brought us to a near World War. Now let us come to peaceful terms with our new allies. Haraki, Gholgoth*, and all others. We wish to extend our forces to aid you. As President, I hereby order all of Dephire's Forces to stand down. Leave Danteri now, or face the consequences. Alexander is no more. As the Dephirian Way states, 'You keep what you kill.' As such, I am now in control of the Dephirian Homeland. If you do not listen to my direct order, then I will grant Haraki and their allies permission to restart their offensive. May this be the day that Dephire becomes fully Democratic. Let us hope that all will look up to us as an example of the joy that comes from this Democracy..."

This speech was wired all around. It was a sight to see as all fifteen million soldiers in Danteri rose the universal white flag of surrender. Their message was clear. Small ships were making their way to several different ports for evacuation. Tall pillars of smoke darkened the sky from the fires of which burned throughout the Danteri Penninsula. Total lives lost for the Dephirians equalled to approximately three hundred thousand. Total costs, five billion USD. Every DCRC and SCRC was broken down and packed up for shipment on large cargo ships. Gholgoth forces were everywhere. Occasionally, a few Loyalists would try to disrupt this transfer of power...but these outbursts were very minimal.

The Defiance and Drevin had just arrived. These massive-sized flagships of the Dephirian Navy were large enough to be mistaken for small islands. Knowing that their use was long expired, they dived and headed straight back to Dephire.

Hopefully this peace would last long enough for real reconstruction to occur....

The brief war was over. Gholgothian and other allied forces had, over a span of approximately twelve hours, proved overwhelming superiority in all engagements. The opposing nation had undergone a regime change and unilaterally withdrawn. Harakian forces, in conjunction with other Allies, carried on their way, occupying the entirety of Danteri to ensure there would be no pockets of insurgent resistance, Dephirian loyalists, or any other nation attempting to hold onto land. The withdrawing Dephirians would have a close eye kept on them by armed forces, to prevent any sudden rethinking of the surrender agreement. Perhaps the most astounding part of the entire brief conflict was that during the twelve hours in which fighting took place, the Gholgothian forces, mainly composed of Harakian attacks during the first hour, had inflicted deaths equal to roughly twice the total number of Harakian frontline troops in Danteri. Overall Harakian casualties had been extremely minimal. Slightly over twenty planes had been shot down by anti-aircraft sites before they were hit by the escort planes. A few hundred soldiers had been killed in fighting with the Dephirian reinforcements, with two or three times that many wounded but recovering. Harakian superiority in the air and in supporting firepower had proved the decisive factor.

Okielahoman territory would be the next target, unless they too took part in Dephire's surrender. Their public announcement to side with Dephire had been unexpected but not entirely unwelcome. Diplomatic efforts to seize their land could have taken time and been aggravating. As it was, Gholgothian forces could simply march across Danteri and cross the border into their land. Any who resisted would be shot. There would be no retention of Okielahoman land in Danteri. Every square millimetre of land would be turned over to Gholgothian forces, from the islands in the west to the far eastern border.

The next possible targets were the Undershi and Zukariaans. They had taken part in the invasion with relatively large numbers of troops, and had seized some tracts of land. Messages had been sent before advising them not to keep any of their conquests. Now that it was over, new messages were sent, telling them to give administration of all Danterian land occupied by their forces over to Gholgothian administration, on pain of the same fate that the Dephirian forces met. Since both had been agreeable in the beginning, the messages were not even threatening in tone, merely stating the facts of what would happen if they chose to break the prewritten agreement.

It seems we managed it without even much fighting. However, I may have just spoke too soon. We may be heading into something worse if someone else decides to keep their spoils of war. Hopefully not.

I'd love to meet you for lunch once it's all over and done with. I think it will be a welcome break from the madness that has gripped this nation.

The Buil Bay beachhead had become a massive camp. Fires were everywhere, with hundreds of men setting up tents. They wanted rest after the long ten hours of the short war they had been through. Still ahead of them was a possible confrontation with Okielahoma, which they didn't expect to get into if it happened. Most were eager to help rebuild what their predocessors had destroyed, regardless of what was to happen.

As for command, they wanted Freiburg to come out of the conflict alive. She had been fighting for a long time to restore her people to power, and whether or not she was happy with the events that had taken place, they expected her to likely be an important figure in the coming days.

The coming days would be the most important in the conflict yet. The Zukariaans were determined to stay to see what was to happen. They were determined to see Danteri at it's best once again.

The Undershi Foreign Ministry has issued a statement:

We do not intend to keep any of the recently conquered Danterian territory. After all, most of it is merely useless, muddy, swamp land. As for the naval and air bases we have along the western shore of Danteri - we assume you will allow us to keep those?

These statements are being backed up with actions - the Undershi forces are moving back to the coastal perimiter they had established before the war as soon as they make contact with allied forces moving in from the east. As for actions taken against the Dephirans... the Undershis crucified any Dephirans they took alive, leaving the bodies waiting for their advancing allies. Such atrocities were limited, though - the Undershi forces took few prisoners, in fact taking part in relatively little combat - since most of the Dephiran military was facing the Haraki Safe Zones.

Also, Vega did not recieve a massive defeat. It was a mutual agreement. Dephire still is in control of the claimed territory, but this time..it's not with military. No. No land occupied by foreign powers will be allowed to remain in the hands of anyone but Gholgothians at this time. Until every square inch of Danterian land is marked with the symbol of Gholgoth, this conflict shall not end. Do not get us wrong. If you do not withdraw, we will invade your land in Danteri. If you choose to prolong this conflict and extend it into anything more than an overrunning of your territory, we will invade your homeland as well, and that is a sight you will not want to ever see.

You saw what we did to Dephire in twelve hours. You saw how many lay dead or dying at the end of our attack. I do not want to have to bring this same fate to your soldiers, but I will unless you back down and leave Danteri, giving all land over to Gholgothian administration. Gholgoth is handling the reunification and rebuilding of Danteri, and no other power will be allowed to remain. For your own sakes, I advise you to make this a peaceful transition.

Oberst Luisa Rhurlunder had seen a few gruesome things in her life - men who had been shot in the gut, men who had been burned by flame weapons, and a few other things almost as bad. She had never, however, seen anything quite as horrific as what she was now looking at - along the border of the Undershi-held zone, there stood rows of crosses, each with a corpse upon it. That was, well, horrifying in a way that few other things could be for anyone who was native to a nation that had signed the Geneva Conventions.
Shivering in disgust, and yes, a little fear that these Undershis could do such things, she made her way over towards the NNDEFs forward camp.
It looked like things would end peacefully, but she couldn't be sure, and so she would keep her soldiers on high alert.
Still, even as she considered the possibility of more blood shed, she couldn't help but feel, well, better - soon she would be seeing Greg again, and that was something to look forward to. Now all she had to do was see to the disposition of her mortar units, and then she could go and have lunch.

This as the fastest victory the Dominion has every been, twelve hours and the enemy leaves the land. Their bombers stopped entering the air and stopped running bombing mission. But Dominionite soldiers didn’t spot coming.

The two thousand Blood Wolves moved forwards until they ran into an abandoned air field with a good sized runway on it. The soldiers with the heavy weapons, the Master Guard general purpose machine gun or the AMA7 belt fed machine gun or the AMA8 belt fed machine gun, began to set of in high area and guard buildings. The air field was now under the control of the Dominion until it was time to leave.

As the Dominion flag was raised on the air field’s flag pole, several squads began searching the other buildings on the air field. These Blood Wolves were not rookies, all veterans of wars and all from other division of the Dominion Armed Forces. So, they know what they are doing.

On top of the radio tower, on the control tower, two Blood Wolves rested. One the stopper, the other the sniper. The sniper was armed with a Maxeighteen sniper rifle. They both keep an eye on the surrounding area.

Soon, the air field would be home to more Dominionite soldiers and vehicles. The planes were in the air, on their ways to the air field.

Distribution of Soldiers
Housing for Military Personel
Naval Harbour
Airforce Resting Station
Refueling Station
Manufacturing
Industry.

These bases will further protect Danteri from any new breakouts of war. We will keep these bases to a rather small size. Dephire has no need to resort to hostile action towards Danteri, all we ask is to build three bases, a manufacturing plant, an industrial plant, and an embassy. Hopefully these will bring in boosts to the economy and population to Danteri. It will also provide jobs to the people of Danteri so that reconstruction can continue.

The bases will be used strictly for housing, distribution, and not for an easy way to move in and attack. Dephire is no longer an aggressive nation. We are trying to defend our own allies in several different conflicts elsewhere, but building these bases and plants will help cut down on the overall time for travel. It will also cut down on the over-packed ports in Dephire itself.

Please, allow us to build these things. I know that Dephire has been on the suspicious side of things, but I assure you that we only need these to help bring prosperity to all.

Danteri will have a stronger economy, and will also have protection from the Dephirian Bases."

I had a nice diplomatic message written up, until some glitch in the Harakian military computer system killed it. Now I'm too aggravated to recreate it in its perfection. Basically it boiled down to this, in much more flowery language:

Get the fuck out. Stay the fuck out. Or we will shoot you. You're damn fucking right we're being hostile.

There is no assistance needed in the rebuilding of Danteri. Any one Gholgothian nation alone could rebuild Danteri to tenfold its original state. With so many of us combined, I shudder to think at the superpower we could create. No additional help is needed, and your reputation no longer exists in this part of the world. It does not matter who is in command of your nation. What matters is that no nation other than those of Gholgoth will take part in the reconstruction. If you do not leave, we will make you leave. If you attempt to return in any way, whether military or civilian, soldier or construction worker, we will respond with overwhelming firepower. Dephire is no longer involved in Danteri. Get used to it.

Also bear in mind that I am by far the most restrained of the Gholgothian leaders present. There were those that advocated the merciless torture and execution of every Dephirian in Danteri. Be glad you did not suffer this fate.

He was one of the Four Horsemen of Apocalypse. A man that has been in many battles and not losing a single one.

He scanned the air field as he walked down the ramp of the cargo plane, two beast of men walked behind him, both in Transylvanian body armor in Blood Wolves colors, tall and wide these men were.

“All in a day’s work.” said Dawson with an evil smile. “Am I correct?” He looked back at another man, a man in obscure weak yellow and obscure dull orange set of Transylvanian body armor.

“You are correct, my brother.” said Lieutenant General Jaeger McKnight (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y101/CountJWolf/McKnight2.jpg), A.K.A. the Horseman Famine.

If the enemy want to fight, the Dominion has sent their best. Two thousand more Dominionite soldiers have just arrive, a thousand more Blood Wolves and the rest soldiers of the 4th Raptors. Soon, twenty more cargo planes would land and unload vehicles.

A man was standing upon the balcony of The White Tower in Alexandria. He was dressed in a military-grade black trenchcoat. His silver hair glistened in the sunlight while it swayed in the wind. At his side was the Cerimonial Sword, known to the Dephirians as "The Sword of Light". It was the oldest known artifact in Dephirian history. Supposedly dating back to the founding of Dephire, it was Scythis' blade. Scythis was the true defender of Sarajevo two thousand years ago, but now his sword was passed down from leader to leader as the years went by. Now it was sheathed at this man's side. The ivory hilt longed to be held, but the man resisted. He was looking over things that had recently occured. No one was even considering his proposals of peace and affiliation. This troubled him, but did not cause too much concern.

"Vega. You look exhausted. Why not come and sit down?"

The man turned and smiled. As a woman spoke from inside the office. She seemed rather young, but was in-fact around twenty-nine. Her name was Christine Smith. Vega had her appointed as his secretary. She was blonde haired and blue eyed, just as Vega used to be. Now, as his age caught up to him, his hair became silvery and his eyes became more grey.

"Why shall I sit when I have such a wonderful view? The sun is going down, and the city still sparkles. Even the sea twinkles from the light."

"You have a good point, sir. Shall I get you something to eat then?"

"No thank you Christine. I'm rather content. Tell me, can you find me Coronado? I need to speak with him about some...private issues."

"Admiral Hugo Coronado is in a meeting right now, but I will send a message as quickly as possible. Is there anything else?"

"That will be all. I guess I shall have to wait then."

There was a sound at the door, a knock, then a young man dressed in a white uniform came inside. His hair was mismatched, all untidy and everywhere. Even his uniform wasn't exactly...as well off as it should have been. He stopped briefly as if to remember what he was to do next, and quickly saluted Vega. Then he began to speak.

"Mr. President Jonathan Vega, I am Lieutenant Diego Rico of the Naval Fleet. I was sent here to inform you that the evacuation of Danteri was...a success at most. All of your loyalist forces have evacuated. Any Alexander Loyalist was left behind. Total losses would exceed fifty thousand of our men. This is not including Alexander's Loyalists, which far exceed hundreds of thousands. It is even more puzzling that there are still Loyalists of his regime with you in power. Only thing is that they are slowly converting and leaving in trickles of three hundred men per day. This is, of course, an approximate."

Vega nodded and looked over the papers that the lieutenant handed to him. The statistics themselves were not as satisfactory as he would have hoped, but they were good enough.

"I want you to inform the Council that they have to pay for this entire mess. Alexander would not have been put into power if they had not done it themselves! This is not an Empire anymore, it is a Democracy. I want you to inform the Council that there services are no longer required. This entire war in Danteri could have been avoided entirely if they had just chosen to give Danteri back to it's people!"

The sailor looked at his new superior with wide eyes.

"Vega, the council has been a part of Dephirian Government since five hundred years ago. They may not take this too kindly."

Vega showed the sword to the lieutenant.

"This is the sword of Scythis. It gives me full power to act as I will, and what I want is to make this nation into a damn democracy! We suffered our first and only loss in this Danteri conflict because of stupidity from being a Monarchy. Now that we have an elected government, we do not have any use of Monarchs, Emperors, Kings, or the High Council. Do as I ask, please."

The sailor saluted Vega, turned, then left.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________

When the High Council was told of this, they were infuriated. Vega had just destroyed a system of government that had been in power for over five hundred years. Now the power of the government was granted to the people! This was absurd! This was an outrage! They, however, could not do anything about it...not with five thousand soldiers at the Council Chamber's doorsteps. The Industrialistic Empire of Dephire was forever no more, after the Councilmen were taken away, Vega made sure of it. He made an official declaration that was aired across the world:

"It is with great passion and happiness that the old government that had once controlled Dephire is now over. I hereby declare Dephire a full democracy! We are to be known as 'The United Republic of Dephire' from now until doomsday. In being so, we also wish to extend our hand and apologize to every nation that this nation may be enemies of. Dephire is under a new government, thus the past shall stay in the past and we can move towards a brighter future. Let this glorious world become a world of peace and prosperity! All hail the Glorious Reign of Democracy!"

Mary Black was Adam West II's secretary. As she walked down the corridor to West's office to give him the latest news flashes from Danteri, she called to him.
"Mr. West!"
"Mr. West!"
"Mr. West?"
She entred the office.
"Mr. West?'
He must be in the bathroom or grabbing someting to eat from the dining hall She thought.
I'll just set theses papers on his desk
She walked around to the back of the desk to put down the papers and couldnt stifle a scream. West lay on the floor, blood everywhere, a 6 inch gash was across his neck. She dialed security on the desk phone.
"Mr West?"
The voice answered, checking the caller ID.
"No no, this is not Mr West, this is Secretary Black in Mr. West's office"
She managed
"You have to... come down... here qu...
"Ms Black?"
"Ms Black are you there"
No answer.
"Calling all security units we have a code orange, possible administrative staff down."
As the first men arrived into the room the saw Ms Black first, then West. Both had identical slashes across their throats.
"Oh my God!" The officer screamed
"Calling all emergency units we have code black, West is down, I repeat code Black, West is down, no pulse.
Three hours later
The top CSI unit from Lexington was all over the room, analyzing all evidence and taking hundreds of photographs. So far they had only one thing: and that was the knowledge of what the murder weapon was. A small, 4 inch razor blade had slit both the emperor and secretaires throats.

[Official proclamation by Admiral Steven Tyrell, Commander of Harakian Forces in Danteri]
Broadcast live from outside Harakian headquarters in Danteri

"This war is over. All Danterian land has been occupied by Gholgothian forces, and the preplanned fifteen month reconstruction plan will be carried out posthaste. Once the fifteen months of rebuilding and all elections are complete, then we will allow the elected officials of Danteri decide what timetable should exist for the withdrawal of Gholgoth's forces. After all, we don't own the land - the Danterians do. The Okielahoman withdrawal has taken place and is currently taking place over the islands, Dephire has withdrawn, and Gholgothian forces are ensuring security all across Danteri, with one notable exception.

"Aside from the exception, discussed later, is Okielahoma's razing of Westgate and the wanton murder of thousands of Danterians. This is a heinous crime, which should have been avoided at all costs. There is no way to take back what you have done. We were here to peacefully reunite Danteri with minimal losses to Danterians. You have betrayed that motive, and you will receive your comeuppance in time.

"With regards to Antigr: We were allied before. You agreed with us on matters of reunification, as far as I can tell. You chose not to take part in the invasion of Dephire-held land and even stole some rightfully Danterian land on the southern coast from the occupying Gholgothian forces. By rights this should constitute a declaration of war and the obliteration of all opposing forces, but I've decided to be nice today. I'll give you twenty-four hours to get out of Danteri, starting from the minute this message is sent. If your forces haven't started withdrawing by then, we will invade you as well. You've seen how willing we are to do so. As you chose to go your own obstinate path, this is the end result. Our former status as joint coalition forces has ended, and now you have become as Dephire was before: An expansionist empire, devoid of reason or logic, mad with greed and determined to hold onto your tiny amount of land, no matter how many lives are lost. How many times must we say it? This land is not yours. It is not ours. It is no-one but that of native Danterians, and, as before, we are willing to enforce this ideal at the point of a sword.

"To Dephire: Much as we may appreciate your help, I am afraid any further fighting in Danteri will be undertaken by Gholgothian forces alone. To put it bluntly, we just don't trust you enough to let you bomb Danteri ever again. Sorry.

"And finally, about the Neue Neue Deutsch Expeditionary Forces. From conferring with those who have been her emuch longer than I have, we have come to the eventual conclusion that the NNDEF is allowed to stay and work in conjunction with Harakian forces over the remaining fifteen month period. We'd rather not just kick out a friend and ally who has stuck with us through times of harshness and trouble. We do not lump the Neue Neue Deutsch in with any others in this conflict - Dephire, Antigr, Undershi, Zukariaa - because they have committed none of the same mistakes. Zukariaa's reputation is forever tarnished by what they did here. Undershi lost theirs when they attempted to invade Harakian land. Dephire lost theirs for obvious reasons. Antigr has now lost their by being foolhardy. But the Neue Neue Deutsch even went so far as to undertake an offensive campaign beside the Harakians during what seems to now be being called the Twelve Hour War. To coin a phrase made by someone some time ago in the Harakian diplomatic corps, Haraki has taken Neue Neue Deutschland under our wing. We will not evict our friend. We will stand up for them to whoever may challenge them. I am proud to serve beside those of Neue Neue Deutschland.

"Thank you and goodnight."

That combined with the material provided by the diplomats about previous Haraki-NND cooperation and the recent agreements and alliance statements signed were enough to get Shartz on my side, and Tyrell eventually gave in and agreed. Luckily, he'll stand by this to the death now that he's said it on live TV. Good luck. I'll see you soon.

OOC: Don't get mad. It's in character. That's how Gholgothian leaders are acting towards everyone in Danteri, in case you hadn't noticed.

Why be so damn aggressive? Because you were holding onto land when we were saying all land must be turned over to Gholgothian forces so that Danteri could be reunited. After that, you announced you would annihilate anything within ten miles of your border. That's aggressive in and of itself, and so Tyrell responded in turn.

Honestly, I'm not sure why Dephire is suddenly against you. But hey - in character actions, I shouldn't give an OOC response.

You were doing what was right. You did an honourable thing, protecting civilians. The only place you went wrong in the eyes of Haraki and Gholgoth was holding onto your own piece of land when we wanted everything to be turned over. If you'd just said 'Antigr will withdraw and hand over its land' everything would've been fine. But instead, your in character actions said you were holding onto it and would attack anyone that came near you. You were no longer taking part in Harakian coalition efforts. Essentially, our alliance of sorts had ended, and so Tyrell found it acceptable to threaten violence to achieve diplomatic goals.

And yes, half the information in that point is probably lies. Tyrell likes to pomp himself up, make his opponents look as evil as possible, to help convince other people that his wars are right. Add that to the fact that he is the commander of Harakian forces in Danteri, add that to the fact that the most war-hungry general in Haraki is his second-in-command and close friend, and add all that to the fact that he's extremely hostile and wants to kick everybody out of Danteri, and you get the in character actions that were taken.

So don't get mad. Get in character.

OOC: Antigr, I'll see what I can do.

It was over. They all knew it was over. What was happening now was a formailty. What they were doing was securing the land vacated by Okielahoma when they left. It had created a vacuum of occupied territory, and the Harakian forces were rushing through it as fast as they could drive and refuel to make sure it was secure. The lead units were elements of the 72nd Infantry under Gregory Neil, roaring across the roads and highways of western Danteri in their APCs, jeeps, trucks, and light tanks.

Master Corporal Jason Wilkes was laughing at his friend's joke, sitting in the back of the APC, his rifle slung between his legs and his arms casually resting on it. The vehicle was at the head of the column, travelling along a road headed for Westgate. The people in it were calm and relaxed. The war was over. They hadn't even had to do much fighting.

They had been involved in brief periods of fighting with Dephirian forces. As the lead recon unit for the 72nd Infantry, they had ambushed a Dephirian column of infantry from the side. The advantage of high ground plus superior firepower had helped them defeat the enemies. At several points throughout the fighting, Harakian close air support swooped out of the sky, launching missiles and dropping series of bombs on the Dephirian forces. It had been a brief, one-sided encounter. Wilkes was credited with one confirmed kill, although he subconsciously almost hoped the man had survived.

Now it was over. They couldn't see any more trouble in the future. They were looking forward to fifteen months of security duty in Danteri, then heading back to Haraki before another deployment to wherever. Easy. They were the first division to arrive in Danteri, they damn well planned to be the last to leave.

"Hey! Jase!" shouted Jason's best friend, Private First Class Brad Finnegan, from the opposite bench. "Let me tell you something."

"What? Your sister wants to meet me?"

"Shut up, man! No, let me tell you - When we get into Westgate, we're gonna set up camp, we're gonna relax, and I'm gonna go find me a nice Danterian girl. We're gonna find a hotel room, and we're gonna fuck all night long. Liberators, baby! Li-ber-ate-ors!"

Jason laughed and smacked his friend on the helmet. "Let me tell you something, Brad. The minute she sets eyes on you, she's gonna burst out laughing. The minute you start coming onto her, she's gonna scream and run away." Amidst the laughs and jeers of their fellow soldiers, and Brad's protests, Jason continued, his face breaking into a smile. "Seriously! It's what happened last time! And the time before that, and the time before that, and the time before that ... Danterian girls hate you, man!"

Brad opened his mouth to respond, when suddenly the driver's voice cut in. "Shut up and look out the front, jackasses."

Jason, as the squad leader, was the first to get a look. "Oh, fuck..." he muttered, as he saw what the driver had seen, and what the gunner up top had most definitely seen as well: A column of black smoke rising in the distance. Against the backdrop of the midday sky, it was an eerie sight. They knew it could only be one thing: Westgate was burning. It was the only city nearby.

The rest of the drive was taken in mostly silence. The squad went from relaxed and cheerful to solemn and combat-redy over a period of about a minute. They were checking the sights on their weapons, checking magazines, putting on their helmets, and making sure they could handle whatever may happen. Jason leaned into the front compartment with the driver and grabbed the radio. "You seeing this?" he called into it.

"Same as you, Jase. Something's burning and it sure ain't the marshmallows."

"What the fuck does that even mean?"

"Shut up. Get your ass in gear. We're gonna have to handle this. I'm calling for reinforcements and diplomatic shit. You're the lead, you stay the lead. Once we reach the city, I want you to dismount and we're gonna make our way through the city on foot. Help whoever you can, use the APC for cover. If somebody's burning down Westgate, they could be trying to ambush us as well. Any partisans, any soldiers, I don't want to lose people after this war is over. Get it done and don't whine about it."

Jason Wilkes had seen a lot. He had been there when Zukariaa had withdrawn from Danteri and killed everyone in the occupied territories. Over the past few days he had witnessed what Undershi and Dephire had done to those under their control, which was nowhere near as bad. Mentally, he prepared himself for what was to come.

Thirty minutes later, the APC ground to a halt, and the squad disembarked. The gunner up top, manning the 20mm autocannon, swivelled around in his position, trying to see anyone he needed to take out. The squad positioned themselves around the APC and began moving into the city at a fast walking speed. Around them they could see dead, burned and blackened bodies. The entire city had been on fire, and it looked to have burned throughout the night the day before, after Okielahoman forces had left. It seemed obvious who had done it.

Although no signs remained of the Okielahomans themselves - they had taken everything with them - the city was destroyed. They had razed it to the ground for no apparent reason. As they came into downtown, gutted buildings, hollowed out by fire and internal combustion, became commonplace. Tall buildings, already extremely rare in Danteri, were all gone. Some had collapsed or fallen over. Others were simple ashen skeletons of the buildings they used to be. The dead were everywhere. With nowhere to go, they had died in their homes or in the streets, as the structures around them came crashing down and the fire spread from one building to the next.

Although there were so many dead, there were more alive. They had fled to the streets and huddled there in massive numbers, and now they lay on the streets or in the rubble of their homes. Some were still picking through the wreckage of their houses, apparently looking for things they had not found the previous day. Jason saw one man weeping over the blackened corpse of his young daughter, who by her size was no more than ten years old. The man himself, his white beard straked with tears, was oblivious to the soldiers advancing around him. Behind Jason's APC were the rest of his column. A journalist with them was snapping pictures left and right of the carnage. As he saw it, Jason knew the war wasn't over. Not by a long shot.

When they reached the waterfront, a Harakian helicopter came sweeping over them and set itself down on a cleared area by the docks. Five APCs formed a protective ring around it, their guns pointing outwards, and one Major Wallace Greenwald, the commander of the recon detachment, went to meet the men who emerged. They were Adam Shartz and Gregory Neil, and the three officers saluted one another quickly before getting down to business.

"This is just wrong," Gregory Neil said. "This should not have happened. Why would they do this?"

"Because they're fuckin' bastards, Greg. Get used to it," Adam Shartz replied. "You know, I think having you around is turning me soft. This turns my stomach in a way it would never have before. Damn idealists. Maybe I should permanently atttach you to my staff as the voice of reason."

Please, no, Greg thought. Anything but that. Out loud, he replied, "What are we going to do, sir?"

"I'll tell you what we're going to do," Adam replied. Turning to the major, he barked an order. "Major, get your men to secure this downtown harbourfront area. I want to be able to bring in journalists, generals, admirals, and politicians to show them this shit. I'm going to get on the phone with Steve, and we're going to talk about this. Greg, when the rest of your division gets here, secure the city. The whole thing. I don't want anyone taking potshots at the Prime Minister. You two hear me?"

Both men glumly nodded their assent.

"Good. Now Greg, listen up. Here's where you get your next lesson in hardass militarism. I'm going to get Steve here. He's going to look around and declare this an act of war. We're going to get the Prime Ministe to look at videos and pictures, maybe get some MPs, some ministers, even the PM down here to look at stuff and denounce it. We're going to keep calling it an act of war, wanton destruction unnecessary attacks on innocent civilians, that sort of stuff. Then we're going to declare war on Okielahoma. All not necessarily in that order.

"Following all those formailities, we're going to bomb the fuck out of them, invade their country, and teach them a lesson they won't soon forget. I'm afraid you're not going home for a while, Greg."

Gregory Neil listened on, somewhat horrified at a great deal of things. Firstly at what he saw around him. Secondly at what must have been going through the mind of whoever ordered such an action. Thirdly at how Shartz' mind worked. But at the same time he felt a morbid fascination developing. He wanted the ability to assess things that quickly and make snap decisions like that, rather than waiting through deliberations. It seeme dlike a useful trait for a military leader. "Right," he said. "So we call in Admiral Tyrell now?"

"You're fuckin' right we do. Major, go get all that sorted. Greg, we're out for now. I've got some ordering to do."

*

By twelve hours later, Shartz and Tyrell had taken hours of video and hundreds of pictures and sent them back for the eyes of members of parliament, all of whom were horrified, most of all the Prime Minister, who was an idealist at heart, despite being, essentially, an ex-action hero and a national icon.

They deliberated for some time and resolved to have a vote the next day on whether or not to issue a declaration of war.

And in the meantime, Harakian fleets moved into position. Dozens of Twilight-class missile carrier submarines began to set themselves up off the coast of Okielahoma. An entire battleship task force set itself up to intercept their fleets returning from Danteri. The Far Southern Fleet split into two: The majority of it left to pursue the Okielahoman forces back to their homeland, while some of it remained in Danteri. And in Danteri, half a dozen Harakian divisions suited up for combat and transport. In the Harakian homeland, the state of mobilization of all professional military units stayed in force, and many divisions were called up for transportation and invasion of the Okielahoman mainland. They had no land left in Danteri, so the Harakians would take the fight to them. It was payback time, for a hasty and irrational decision.

An t-Oilean Ur Condemns Atrocity At Westgate

The Chairman and Board of Directors of the Confederacy of An t-Oilean Ur take note of and condemn in the strongest possible terms the total destruction of the Danterian city of Westgate and the massacre of many of its inhabitants by Okielahoman forces recently. "Such acts of terror and desperation are not those of a civilized nation," the Chairman said at a recent press conference, "and we feel sure that the nations of Gholgoth will ensure that Okielahoma pays an appropriate price for its actions."

The Chairman further noted that An t-Oilean Ur's ambassador to Okielahoma had been recalled, the embassy closed for an indeterminate length of time, and that An t-Oilean Ur stood ready to provide whatever assistance the Gholgothians needed or wanted, even if said support was "simply a vote in the UN condemning this atrocity." He did not rule out military or logistical support if it were to be requested.

Also, commenting on the deployment of Harakian forces, the Chairman stated only that he wished them "Godspeed, good luck, and good hunting."

Oberst Luisa Rhurlunder stood in the ruined streets of Westgate, and felt physically ill. The crucified Undershi POWs had been horrific, the huddled terrified slave laborers disturbing, but this, this was hellish. She had heard of the Zukariaan atrocities, had even seen some of them with her own eyes, but this most recent atrocity, this had been simply too horrific foe words, because this horror, it hadn't been commited by CP monsters or Undershi "supermen" - it had been commited by human beings. That made it all the more terrifying, because, if humans could do this sort of thing, then, well, how were they, well, how were they any better than animals? As she watched the poor Danterians crawling in the ashes, she made a decision - she would support the faction of the Bundestag in favor of going to war alongside Haraki. They would make sure that Neue Neue Deutschland did their part to punish such monsters.
Sighing, she climbed back into the Haraki-made jeep she had used to come here, and waved for the Unteroffizier driver to leave - she had seen enough. Now she was off to confer with Major-General Niel, and she wasn't looking forward to it. With such things as this in her mind, she could feel no joy. Now she went to tell him that, almost certainly, the Neue Neue Deutsch Army would fight alongside the Haraki forces as they sought to avenge this insult to humanity.

Dominionite controlled airbase, formally a one runway native air field, now a four runway base that could land as many planes that it could from big to small. These runways were over sixteen thousand feet or longer. Not only was it a massive air building, there was equal massive group of Dominionite vehicles and tents.

The Dominion called back it fleet after the Twelve Hour War, so they focused on using planes to bring into thing. Soldiers of the Dominion, proud of their homeland, would watch over their civilian brothers as they started out to rebuilt this war torn country. There were soldiers of almost all the fifty division of the Dominion Armed Forces.

The airbase would be used to be in any thing for the fifteen month period, at the end the base would be handed over to the natives. They could use it for whatever they wanted to do.

Inside the command headquarter, the former office building of the airfield, Death and Famine looked at the war of this war torn country with a few of the Dominionite workers. The ones that would be in control of the civilians. Both Death and Famine looked like some G.I. Joe action figures, both with a godly amount of weapons on their body.

Death, General Ronald Dawson, had two Burning Fox pistols, .45 ACP, on leg hostlers, and a Wild One assault rifle on his back, a Lion Kukhri across his chest and was not counting his curved blades and DR-83 tactical rifle on the table next to him.

Famine, Lieutenant General Jaeger McKnight, had two Burning Fox pistols, .45 ACP, in shoulder hostlers, two Devil Arms sub-machine guns on leg hostlers, and a Desert Sigma shotgun on his back. Add to the sharp objects he has; a Black Cobra Katana on his back and two Fox Tantos on the back of his waist. And that he had a DR-83 tactical rifle on the table next to him.

“So, you know where to start.” said Dawson. “We will start to the north of this base and work to the border. Then head to the other side.”

He did not get to finished when a Blood Wolf in full armor ran into the room. “General Dawson!” he said, snapping to a salute. “The fools from Okielahoma burn down the southern city of Westgate. Citizens have been found burn alive.”

“Send a message to the God-Emperor, tell him.” ordered McKnight. “And tell my father, too.”

The soldiers said “Yes, sir.” and hurried out of the room. The ones from the Dominionite civilians were like they knew what was going to happened.

The Dominion was going to play with their bombers again…

Prime Minister Jaime Wolfe sat at his official Prime Ministerial desk, looking somewhat haggard and unkempt. His hai was untidily strewn around his head, his suit was uncharacteristically rumpled, and an aide ran out only twenty seconds before the cameras rolled to straighten his tie. He would have liked to look impeccable, but it didn't ever happen. Besides, the people were used to his unkempt exterior. It was one of the most appealing things about him. At least he'd shaved.

The man behind the camera raised his hand, fingers outstretched, brining his hand into a fist slowly as he counted down. "Five ... four ... three ... two ... ..." His fingers closed altogether and he pointed to the Prime Minister as the cameras began to roll.

"People of Haraki, we in parliament have been involved in a deliberation over the past three hours on the issue of Okielahoman atrocities committed while withdrawing from the nation of Danteri. I am sure that by now you will have seen the images and videos coming out of the runied and ashen city of Westgate."

He picked up a pile of black and white photographs from the deks in front of him, showing them to the camera one by one as he talked. The pictures took up a full page of glossed paper, the black and white images those of horror, the burned out buildings and charred bodies. The more horrific images were kept out, but still what was there was enough to make some people visibly sick.

"We have come to a decision that we cannot allow Okielahoma to get away with this sort of action. We entered Danteri to save civilian lives, and have undertaken a great many actions there to further that goal. Recently we have managed to secure all Danterian land under Harakian and Gholgothian administration, and we have now commenced the fifteen month plan to rebuild Danteri and recreate a centralized, democratic, purely Danterian government.

"Okielahoma agreed to a peaceful withdrawal from their land in the west in order to avert a war with Haraki and, by extension, all those here in Gholgoth. However, in the act of withdrawing, they committed the cowardly act of burning to the ground a civilian population centre and killing thousands of people. This goes against all theories of protection of civilians laid out by any international treaties, and given that they were withdrawing so we could rebuild the nation, is a direct insult and, essentially, a big fat 'fuck you' to us and everyone else in Gholgoth and Danteri. We would be lax in our duty to the people of Danteri if we allowed this act to go unpunished, and lax in our duty to the rest of the world if we allowed Okielahoma to believe they could get away with this sort of action in the future.

"All these arguments and points of view have been given to parliament, and very few there have offered points against undertaking action. Therefore, we have voted and a state of war now exists between Haraki and Okielahoma. Already combined Harakian, Freekian, Dominion and Neue Neue Deutsch forces are preparing for strikes against Okielahoman forces, in conjunction with other assorted allied forces."

Swallowing uneasily, he reached up and loosened the knot of his tie, leaning forwards onto the desk and continuing. "As such, the current state of semi-mobilization of Harakian armed forces will have to remain for the time being. All professional armed forces are to report for duty immediately. All semi-professional armed forces should be prepared to be called up on twenty-four hours' notice.

"Thank you and good day."

OOC: I think we'll just keep it in this thread. Not much sense in making a new one for something that's essentially a continuation of this conflict anyway.

Also, I'll try and get up diplomatic responses/descriptions of attacks and other such things up in a little while.

As word reached the men of the incoming war they were not afraid. Haraki would have to climb nearly 100ft cliffs just to get up onto the island. And besides Oklahoman forces still had that one weapon none knew about.

20,000 troops on the island
500 operatives still on the mainland
The only way to navigate the island is by the roads. You cant go offraod with vehicles.

A man in a red uniform was watching his television set. There was this conference somewhere on the Haraki channels. He knew immediately what this was about. The immature and cheap attack on Westgate.

"Had my forces been allowed to stay there," he whispered to himself angrily, "then this entire thing would have been avoided!"

Several hours passed. Many various images were shown of burned bodies, severed limbs, complete wreckage. One solemn teardrop glided from his eye. It fell onto the floor with a silent splash. The man turned off the television when he couldn't handle anymore of the images. Anger, pure anger, flowed through his body. In a swift moment, he unsheathed his sword and sliced his solid mahogany desk in to two halves. Vega was furious to the point where his temples pulsated. After awhile, he began to calm down. He pushed a button on his telephone.

"Yes Mister President Sir?"

A woman's voice spoke.

"Please get me the contact information on Haraki. I need to set up a meeting with either one of their delegates, or the Haraki leader himself."

"Yes sir..."

"Oh, one more thing."

"Yes sir?"

"Get me another desk please."

"Okie dokie Jonny!"

"...I hate it when you call me that name!"

The woman chuckled, even Vega couldn't help but smile himself.

A few minutes passed, and eventually the secretary came into the room and placed a nice stack of papers on the newly brought desk. Vega thumbed through it until he found what he was looking for. He typed in the password, then the number. Moments later, a dial tone was shown on the monitor screen...

Sara von Freiburg watched the ex-slave adjust the AK-47 with practiced precision, and smilled. She had made sure that when the Undershi slaves were being processed, some had been offered the oppertunity to take up arms against such nations as that which had enslaved them.
These men, some of them from Saint Rynald, others from Undershi proper, still others from Jenshalem and the other little nations that had vanished into the Undershi Empire over the years, they hated tyrants... and now... now they were Danterians as well. Danteri would survive, whatever any foreign powers might do to it - that was her vow.
She knew that she would likely not live out the year... but that didn't matter to her. What mattered was that the Undershis, the Dephirans and now the Butchers of Westgate, those Okielahomans, were on their way out. What did it matter if she died with a Haraki or Neue Neue Deutsch bullet in her brains? She had done... enough. Or at least, she hoped it had been enough. Only time would tell...
As she thought on that issue, she looked up, and out of the cave in which she waited - she looked down at the ruins of Westgate, and promised something - she might not have all that long to live, but while she lived, no tyrants or monsters like these... these Okielahoman bastards would be allowed to go unopposed.
As she made that vow, she couldn't help but smile as she listened to the sound of the ex-slaves cleaning and preping their AKs... that sound, to her, was beautiful - it was the sound of freedom flourishing.

Meanwhile

As the Okielahoman forces prepared to resist the Haraki on the little islands off the western coast, the Danterians struck for their vengence...
As the Okielahoman defenders prepared their shore defenses, the Danterians struck - everyone knew that they had no heavy weapons, and since the Danteri's Pride had surrendered to the Haraki, no navy. That belief was almost right.
It would have been right if it hadn't been for the Confederate government's caches that Sara von Freiburg had found. One of the caches had been marked "Cache Talon"... and so she had investigated it... and found a trio of Talon class fighter-bombers, poorly designed things from the early war, when they had been knocked out of the sky dozens at a time by every sort of fighter they had gone up against, until no more Loyalist Talons had taken to the air.
The three they had found had been in poor condition, and they had had to do as they could... but, in the end, even with the terrible mechanics of the Danterian terrorist-bandits, they had been able to accomplish something... they had gotten one Talon ready to fly again, by scavanging the necesary parts from the other two.
Then they had needed a pilot... but they had one of those. They had found a pilot from the old Confederacy who had flown against the Haraki during those first few mad months... and had survived having his plane shot out from under him.
It had been fairly simple to convince him to accept their proposal... and now, now that Talon, the last intact example of its class, flew towards the Okielahoman position closest to the mainland, flying low and slow and as quietly as it could... trusting in God to let it get in close to the enemy position to deploy its one heavy bomb before it was shot down.

The Pilot

Smiling grimly, Heinrich McCune flew his fighter-bomber in, ready to kill and die... ready to avenge Westgate. He had had family there... had had, had had... and now, he wanted vengence.
He smilled, but his mind was elsewhere, watching as demonically efficient Haraki fighters shot the flimsy Talons out of the sky with contemptuous ease, watching as friend after friend after friend tumbled down to the earth in flames... was elsewhere, watching Danteri City vanish in an atomic pyre as he stood on the ground, facing towards the distant second sunrise, the rifle he had hurridly been issued with which to fight as an infantry man falling from his hands...
Was elsewhere, as he emptied an entire magazine from that same rifle into a Kravenite CP, watching in horror as it kept coming... coming towards him to kill him, its weapons lost somewhere in the fighting... was elsewhere in a lot of other places.
Still, he was enough of a pilot to keep the poorly maintained Talon on course, flying low and slow and trying to keep off the sensors. This one was for all the murdered dead of Danteri...

OOC: One Talon fighter-bomber, with one heavy bomb... that's the sum total of the Danterian terrorists contributions towards the war effort... but they'll do better, oh yes they will...

OOC: Nope, my description and reaction to the razing of Westgate was not a godmod, because you said you burned it to the ground. When you burn something like a city to the ground, you seriously fuck it up and kill a lot of people. I didn't change anything, I just described it in detail.

Also, last I knew, I had already completely occupied all your land on the mainland, leaving only the islands, the convoy taking your troops back to your homeland, and your homeland itself. Also, as I already established everything I'd be using in an initial strike (Submarine missile carriers off your coast, battleship fleet heading to intercept your returning fleet, much of my Danterian fleet pursuing your convoy, multiple divisions from Danteri and from Haraki proper mobilized for invasions), could I get a listing of what forces you have in Danteri and in the convoy heading out?

IC:

These are our surrender terms:

You immediately withdraw from Danteri, issue an official apology to the people of Danteri for your actions, contribute a massive sum of money (Let's say, half your annual budget) to the Harakian and Gholgothian rebuilding efforts in Danteri, admit all guilt and responsibility for the razing of Westgate and the unlawful occupation of parts of Danteri, and submit your government to Harakian control for a restructuring of your government to prevent further atrocities such as those committed in Danteri.

If you do not accede to these points, we will carry on our offensive operations.

"Mr Prime Minister?"

"Uh?"

Jaime Wolfe looked up. His secretary was knocking on the door of his office, where he had returned to after giving the televised declaration of war. He raised his head off the desk, hurriedly sliding the half-empty bottle of liquor back into his desk drawer and surreptitiously closing it.

"What is it?"

"You have a phone call. From, er ... Jonathan Vega."

"Right. Er ... right. Wait, what?"

"Jonathan Vega. From Dephire?"

"Yeah, yeah, I know who Vega is. Why the fuck is he calling me is what I want to know. Thought we'd seen the last of him. All right, fine. I'll take it."

She smiled absently and left. He did his best to make his hair lie down flat, failed, and straightened his shirt and tie. His suit jacket was hung on the back of his chair. His lame attempts to make himself presentable as a national leader over with, he placed his hands under the table, panicked, and folded them in front of him on the desk before clicking on the small window on his computer monitor that brought up the phone line. He spoke loudly and firmly, an edge of caution yet authority present in his voice.

Following the open act of war by Okielahoma forces, Lord Dreadfire called an emergency conference via satellite with Warchief Vidimir Breathstealer, who had landed in the nort of Danteri. The exchange was short and to the point: something had to be done...an example had to be made.

~From the desk of Lord Damien the Destroyer, Supreme Warlord of the Excessively Armed Empire of Automagfreek~

I am most disappointed in the actions of the Okielahoman military, a blatant spit in the face to Gholgoth and our righteous cause in Danteri. This act of war will not go unchecked, and on behalf of the indomitable Excessively Armed Empire of Automagfreek, I do hereby declare a state of war with the nation of Okielahoma.

I can not think of more fitting words to describe this event than these:

Violence is legitimate is cases such as this, cruel retribution is fitting. Vengeance will be dealt out with ruthless iron fist. Worthless filth receive no mercy.

They deserve to die!
They deserve to die!

Plans have been completed and the time is drawing near, punishment will be relentless.

They deserve to die!
They deserve to die!

Vacuous faces hammered into mash. Beaten senseless, sense they never had. Merciless smashing shatters teeth and bone. Ignorance earned every crushing blow.

Killing has just started and my lust for blood will grow, justice will be found in murder. Stupid as they are they didn't know the seeds they'd sown grew into my savage hatred.

They deserve to die!
They deserve to die!

Skull is fractured by the pounding. Eyes dislodging from their sockets. Brains spill out, the skull is split through. Mind vacant, now cranium too.

Guilty thoughts will not infect me. Soulless scum receive no pity!

Deceptive tongues hewn by my blade. Forked like a snake now on the ground they lay. They had no conscience so there is no loss. For my redemption there must be a cost.

They deserve to die!
They deserve to die!
DIE!!!! "

-Cannibal Corpse-
"They Deserve To Die"

People´s Camera, Montegrande City, Montegrande

The faces of the deputies of the Congress of the Socialist Republic of Montegrande showed the rage the people of Montegrande had been feeling since recently, a grim story came out from the dusty archives of the former Commisariat of War (now Ministry of Defense); a story that made fall in jail some of the most reputed military men of the country: the story of montegrandean invasion to Danteri.

Even when the forces were initially intended to help the danterians drive out zukariaan forces and apply the country the principles of permanent revolution (that had worked out marvelously with Montegrande itself, that´s why current president, then Comisar of Foreign Affairs, Salvador Guevara, was spared) the appointment of a Red Army between danterians, that more than an army was a group of terrorists and criminals that made the situation of war only more bitter for the danterians, and the brutal form of leaving the country ordered by the former chief of the montegrandean forces of Danteri, Arturo Moncada, even when the civilians were allowed to flee from montegrandean field to 23Eris when the soloriels were obsessed in their rampage to gather all danterian territory, were things that made most of the montegrandeans feel sick, after all, why did a revolution that was so useful for Montegrande (now an economically and socially advanced democratic nation) become another grim episode of what was basically a brutal fight for power?

The decision of the montegrandeans was simple: see what they could help in stablishing a democratic Danteri and asking the Gholgothian command if they could investigate some of the more brutal episodes of montegrandean presence in Danteri (and specially to see what degree of control had Arturo Moncada over the Red Army...)

Telegram to all Gholgothian Forces
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

We have known that the forces of Gholgoth have ended finally the long and bitter war of Danteri and planning the reconstruction of the country into a centrist democratic nation. Montegrande won´t interfere in that purpose, for we agree that is what the people of Danteri need, however, if any support is needed in building the health and education system, we would like to cooperate sending experts and building hospitals, schools and universities, that was a worry of our troops when we were in Danteri before we got caught in the brutal spirit of the war (something that is being investigated in our country).

Also, from the lesson we have learned in the south of Danteri (a zone that was more ravaged by the war than the Harakian Zone when we arrived) we have understood the problem of the danterian people is not only the war and the foreigner armies trying to gather all the territory (although that helped in creating this chaotic situation) but also that at least a generation of danterians has grown with the war, has become mad with the war and thinks the war is the only way to power and power the only thing that matters. Stated that point, we humbly wish to warn you as the forces in charge of ending this conflict (that isn´t only material, it is moral and social too) not to form a "danterian army" or give weapons to danterians at least until the reconstruction is over and the democracy in Danteri has shown some strength. In strengthning the democracy not only elections shall be needed, but also educaction and a campaign of making the people of Danteri remember and learn from the legacy of brutality in which, unfortunately, our nation was involved. (monuments for the fallen in this senseless war and encouraging an art that probably would be related to the effects of this war in the mind of danterians because of the central place it has in this nation for so long..)

In our guilt, we have some things to offer and to ask the troops of Gholgoth. The thing we want to ask is if part of our justice system could be allowed to investigate the cruelties commited by the former danterian faction known as Red Army (mainly in our former controlled zone in the South, around Drel) and if that actions were independent or under the command of the former commander of Montegrandean troops in Danteri, Arturo Moncada (now in jail because of his probable involvement in this case) and also if Sara Von Freiburg could be judged because of her responsabilities in this war. What we want to offer is the information we have gathered as far about the activities of the Red Army (initially led by Von Freiburg herself), including the massacre of the democratic party of Danteri, led by Rynald Strum (a barbarian act that we know was ordered independently by Sara Von Freiburg, without any order of Moncada). Wishing the rebuilding of the nation is an absolute success:

Manuel Salvatierra, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Socialist Republic of Montegrande.

An unconfirmed media leak has been circulating, reporting the Lord Reaver's urging of other Gholgothan leaders to piss on Okielahoma's offer of surrender. They burn a city and prolong a bloody conflict, causing hundreds if not thousands more deaths? And they offer flour as reparation?

The Lord Reaver has offered to match and increase upon the Okielahoman offer of reconstruction forces and supply, provided that the regime in Okielahoma is toppled forever and it's population heavily taxed to repay much-deserved Danteri reparations.

[From: Admiral Steven Tyrell]
[To: President Bob Stoops]

Excuse me? You claim these atrocities were conducted by your predecessor? I don't care. Adam West was dead when the razing of Westgate was ordered, which makes it solely your fault. Not to mention the fact that you are from the same nation. Whether the Liberal, Conservative or Communist party is in control of Harakian parliament, we are still Harakians and we are still responsible for what Haraki does or has done. You must own up to what you have done. Blaming it on your predecessors, however successful it has been in the past, will not work in this case.

Do not try to get out of this with a measly peace offering of small amounts of goods and services. In case you had forgotten, we demanded immediate withdrawal, an official apology to the people of Danteri (Which appears to have been given, albeit in a half-hearted way), the peace offering of half your annual budget for the rebuilding of Danteri, and hell, while we're at it why not the other half to help Gholgothian nations deal with the costs of mobilization of troops, admission of all guilt and responsibility for the atrocities committed in Danteri and the unlawful occupation and annexation of parts of the country, and your government to be completely given over to Gholgothan control for restructuring. So far one has been met, another half-heartedly weaseled out of, and a third thrown back in our faces.

Your time is up. Good day.

In Danteri, the Harakian airplanes already in the air took off towards their targets. Already mildly disorganized by the Danterian partisans, the Okielahoman positions on the island would be the first targets for the Harakian planes. All anti-aircraft installations were struck first, either by cruise missiles or by long range air-to-ground missiles launched by a first round of fighter planes which would also strike all airbases and naval bases on the islands. Following that up was the meat and potatoes: Haraki's heavy bombers, giving a carpet bombing of all dug in or defensive emplacements on the islands. For thirty minutes following that, carrier-based aircraft and land-based fighters would provide close air support over designated landing zones on all the islands, obliterating anything that decided to move as the Harakian battleships also unloaded their large-calibre weaponry, and then the 72nd Infantry under Gregory Neil would storm the beaches, landing and securing beachheads on each of the archipelago's islands. If they were not enough to take all the islands themselves, reinforcements were being called up to move on and help them from the ruined port city of Westgate.

On the seas, Okielahoma's retreating convoy carrying all those from the mainland was to be the subject of a strike from both front and back. Pursuing them were several large Harakian carriers, which had most certainly been making ground on the slower transport ships for some time now. They launched their air detachments, which flew ahead, launching long-range air-to-ship missiles at anti-air screening ships, designed to take them out first of all. Even as this was happening, a force of battleships and smaller ships, combined with several light carriers and a grouping of submarines, was approaching from in front of them, sent on an intercept course under the command of Vice-Admiral Al Lambert.

The first the Okielahomans would know about it would be the approaching missiles from behind them. As their focus turned there, Lambert's forces would unleash a volley of torpedoes from the submarines, which would then withdraw to a safe distance. The battleships would close quickly from the front, the five Atherlon-class battleships and the HNS Firzha unleashing torrents of shells from their massive primary armaments. They and their associated battlecruisers and supporting ships would close and open fire, ripping apart those caught under their shells. Their light carriers would launch several flights of fighters that would provide fast and accurate anti-submarine warfare capabilities, just in case, and other flights that would assist with the aerial strike form the front.

The final component of the initial attack were the twelve submarines off the Okielahoman coast. They would rise, fire all their cruise missiles at high-value targets (Primarily defensive sites on the coast), and sink back beneath the water to leave and be replaced by a further dozen which would rise and fire their missiles several hours later. In this way, phasing submarine groups in and out of the theatre, would volleys of cruise missiles rain down on the defensive sites, softening them up for an eventual invasion.

The Neue Neue Deutsch contribution to the war would come in several forms, but the first contribution was simply to provide some Neue Neue Deutsch fighters to act as escorts for the Haraki bombers, as well as a few Neue Neue Deutsch bombers to take part in the destruction of the Okielahomans.
Most of the NND aircraft were Haraki models given under the terms of the Haraki-NND alliance, but some of the fighters were from the first batch of NND-made fighters - a modified version of the Eurofighter-Typhoon.
These aircraft would strike, and in doing so, show that Neue Neue Deutschland would do all it could to help its loyal ally Haraki.

Oberst Luisa Rhurlunder sat at her desk, reading an e-mail she had just recieved from the Ministry of Defence back in Neue Berlin. It was a simple little message, and she guessed one which should have made her happy, but it didn't - she didn't want to return to Neue Berlin, even if it was to recive a promotion to leutnantgeneral, lieutenant general, and to take a posting at the General Staff.
The crisis in Danteri was far from over, and she was worried about what might happen, but, she could at least be sure that the Neue Neue Deutsch Expeditionary Force in Danteri would be in able hands - she had also recieved word that Hauptmann Ludwig Eisner, late of the ill-fated Expeditionary Force to The Khornate Tribes, would be assuming the rank of Oberst, and command of the entire Neue Neue Deutsch Expeditionary Force to Danteri. She had a high opinion of him - he had managed the withdrawl quite well, and prevented any of his men from doing anything rash, such as taking shots at the advancing Undershi troops.
Still, the Expeditionary Force in Danteri had been her command for a long time, all the way back to the Bad Old Days, when the previous chancellor had tried his best to ensure that they would fail in their mission. He had failed, of course, thanks to their loyal allies, the Haraki.
That reminded her of something important she had to do before leaving - the message said she had to board the next weekly refugee fleet from Neue Neue Deutschland as soon as possible, which meant in only a few hours. Still, she had time for this. Sighing, she began to compose an e-mail for Major General Niel of the Haraki forces:

Re: Promotion

Hello Greg. Things are starting to look ugly in Okielahoma, aren't they? Things are happening in Neue Berlin, Greg - the Ministry of Defense is finally getting the funding they need, and they are desperate for any experienced officers they've got. That's where I come in - I've just recieved a promotion, to Leutnantgeneral, Lieutenant General. While that would normally be only a cause for celebration, there's something else. I'm being reassigned, back to Neue Berlin and the General Staff. It looks like any further lunches we might share will have to wait until later. I've got to leave soon - they told me to return with the refugee fleet they've been sending each week. That means I've got only a few hours to take care of buissiness, and so this will have to be my goodbye. Maybe I'll see you again sometime, once this is all over. Well, goodbye.

Fighting Starting in Eastern Okielahoma

ONN

The first round of majro fighting today started in the province of Eastern Okielahoma, a sparcely populated region which remains a wild land of forests and low mountains. Clashes have been minor today until Adam West III (Adam West II's son) ordered massive bombing raids on rebel positions (led by Bennie Owen) in Eastern Okielahoma. Casualty reports are not known at this time.

Elements of the Neue Neue Deutsch airforce have launched air strikes against Okielahoman Loyalist positions, targeting the air bases from which the recent air strikes against the rebels were launched from, in addition to key transport lines - roads and railways - that could be used to reinforce government positions.
Additionally, Neue Neue Deutsch Military Intelligence is seeking information on the current whereabouts of Adam West III, hoping that if he can be killed (a Cruise missile strike has not been ruled out) or captured (preferably), then the Loyalist government might be made to collapse.

Neue Neue Deutsch Cassualties so Far:

- One Neue Neue Deutsch airforce Neue Neue Deutschland-made Eurofighter Typhoon acting as an escort to the bombers was shot down by Okielahoman Anti-Aircraft fire. The pilot is know to have ejected, but her location is unknown as of now.

Casualty Report

From ONN

In the archipelago assault Okiean forces were all but oblitereted, with only 1264 of the 20,000 troops making it out. As for the latest round of bombings, about 2000 Okiean loyalist troops (Under Adam West III) were killed.

In related news an NND pilot that ejected from a shotdown bomber over Eastern Okielahoma is in the hands of Okiean rebels (Led by Bennie Owen). Sources near Owen say an unconditional release is likely.

Neue Berlin, Neue Neue Deutsch Ministry of Defense

Leutnantgeneral Luisa Rhurlunder stood in the map room, watching relayed satelite imagery as Haraki-made NND bombers and fighters did their part in the war with Okielahoma. So far they had been lucky - their aircraft were targeting lightly defended targets, and relying on satelite images to show them where the Okielahomans were light on the ground, and so would be easy meat for the Neue Neue Deutsch Air Force.
They had been lucky, but she couldn't help but wonder how long that luck might last. Right now she was worried about the Okielahoman rebels - what was to prove they wouldn't be as bad as the government they now fought against as soon as they achieved power? She couldn't help but wonder at that, since the NND Air Force seemed to be winning the war for them.
Already a second wave of air strikes was being considered. It was only being considered though - the government was reluctant to do more than consider. Other than the short fight against Dephire, this would be the first war her country would be involved in - they had no desire to be conquerors or tyrants, and until mere months ago their military had consisted of barely two companies of glorified riot police.
Now they had a real Army, not to mention the Air Force that was now proving its worth, and a Navy that consisted almost entierly of Haraki-made ships that had been given to them as surplus. Those ships were so new, most of them still sat in harbor, since crews were scarce and untrained.
A few of those ships would be active in this campaign though, if things went as she thought they might. The Haraki were going to be the ones to set the tone for the war, of course, but the Neue Neue Deutsch would do whatever they could to help.
She glanced down at the papers on her desk, and frowned for a moment. She had her misgivings about any plan to arm the rebels, but that was the sort of plan that her government favored - give the rebels guns and ammunition, and hope they use it like you want them to.
Speaking of that plan, she had work to do. She sat down at her desk again, sighing and remembering Danteri, mud and all, with longing. There she had been able to feel like she was doing something, here, well, here she felt like all she accomplished was to improve air circulation in the Ministry of Defense by shuffling papers. She thought about Danteri again for a moment, and in that moment remembered Major-General Niel. She hadn't sent him so much as an e-mail since she had returned to Neue Berlin. Sighing again, she got to work on her evaluation of the plan proposed by some stuffed suit in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She would have to remember to e-mail him later, though - they had to talk about a few things.

OOC: Haraki, I miss you. What do you want to do about the Okielahoman Civil War?

Neue Berlin, Neue Neue Deutsch Ministry of Defense

General Renee Rosch, the Neue Neue Deutsch Minister of Defense sat behind his desk, staring at a pile of forms that he would rather never have seen. It was official - Neue Neue Deutschland would provide the Okielahoman rebels with weapons - several dozen crates of old M-16s, for a total of five hundred rifles, and several crates of ammunition, for a total of two thousand five hundred magazines.
Additionally, more airstrikes would be launched - the goal of this operation would be to cause as rapid a collapse of the Okielahoman government as could be achieved, nothing more. Reperations could be discussed later, in fact would be discussed later if he wasn't a fool.
These rebels merely proved a useful tool for encouraging the Okielahoman government to see "reason," and that was what was most important. The "gifts" would be air-dropped into Okielahoma when the next flight of bombers and fighters struck.

New Raids:

A second series of bombing raids has been launched against the Okielahoman government, targeting bridges and rail lines that were being used to supply the Loyalist Okielahoman military as it fought against the rebels. As always, all efforts are being made to limit civilian cassualties.

Neue Neue Deutsch Losses:

Okielahoman AA fire downed a Neue Neue Deutsch crewed Haraki-made bomber. Of its crew, all but one are believed to have been killed as the plane crashed and burned - the other pilot's where-abouts are unknown as of now, but he is believed to have succesfully ejected from the bomber before it went down.

Open message to all foreign dignitaries:
[From: Prime Minister Jaime Wolfe]

Several of you have approached me, given me impatient messages, or hasty phonecalls with regards to assistance against Okielahoma. While at the moment this is a purely joint Harakian-Neue Neue Deutsch operation, and by rights that is all that should be required to destroy Okielahoma's capacity to resist, I am going to open up the floor, so to speak. All foreign forces on good terms with Haraki are allowed to participate in joint operations against Okielahoma provided you recognize this simple fact:

Okielahoma is Haraki's playground. Bearing that in mind, you may not keep Okielahoman land to yourself. This is not a war of conquest, it is a war of just retribution and democratic renewal. Also bearing that in mind, Haraki is in charge and, as such, you will accede to any orders given by Haraki or Haraki's Neue Neue Deutsch allies with regards to this conflict. If you step out of line (The line in this case being Haraki's goals for this operation) we will tell you, and you better god damn step back in line.

Now that's over and done with. Goodbye.

Fighting in the archipelago was all-but over before it had even started. Following the overwhelming Harakian aerial assault to soften up Okielahoman defences in preparation for the 72nd Infantry's assault, just over one thousand Okielahoman troops were left in fighting condition, and many of those were atleast superficially wounded. Gregory Neil's infantry had hit the beaches, one brigade to each major island, expecting very little resistance. With swarms of close air support aircraft flying overhead from airfields in Danteri and off of the Harakian carriers there as part of the Far Southern Fleet and shore bombardment from the entire fleet, any resistance would be met by a sound thrashing by the assembled Harakian bombardment forces. Neil estimated the archipelago would be secured in under a day. Small islands, multiple landings, and overwhelming qualitative and quantitative superiority would most likely prove victorious once again.

Setting out from Haraki were five divisions on their way to Okielahoma to take the rebels up on their offer and use the East as a landing zone. It was a vehicle-centric force, composed of the 4th and 5th Armoured, 6th Cavalry, and 1st and 90th Infantry divisions. All four ground divisions were at least partially mechanized, and the air cavalry provided helicopter support from above. Setting out from Danteri in the wake of a large portion of the fleet sent out to chase after Okielahoma's convoy returning to their homeland were six more divisions withdrawn from the Danterian mainland - The 3rd, 103rd and 110th Infantry, 8th Airborne, 5th Armoured and 3rd Mountain divisions, due to be followed by the 72nd Infantry once the archipelago was secure.

On the seas, the Okielahoman convoy was about to be struck by the two Harakian fleets sent to intercept it. The convoy which had left Danteri, evacuating the mainland, was protected by an unknown quantity of warships but was known to have enough transports carrying enough troops that their destruction could prove a significant strategic and morale-boosting victory. As such, the battleship squadron sent from Haraki to intercept them from the bow and the carrier squadron pursuing from Danteri would meet at a set point, and engage them fast and hard. A group of submarines from the battleship squadron would strike first, their rear tube torpedoes sinking into the escort ships silently from underwater as the submarine sailed away. Immediately following that would come a cruise missile strike from in front of them, launched from the battleships and their supporting ships, designed to take out primarily any capital ships able to resist the battleships in close and, once they were all targetted and/or sunk, anti-aircraft ships, for the next attack would come in the form of planes. Several hundred planes would arrive from both directions, launched from the battleships' two escorting light carriers and the pursuing carriers. They would strike from both directions, aiming to completely destroy any remaining escorts. Finally, the battleship squadron minus their carriers and a few escorts for those would close to close range and tear apart the surviving transports and any other leftover ships with their massive guns.

*

Vice Admiral Allen Lambert was half-asleep in the admiral's cabin onboard the HNS Firzha, the largest battleship ever completed by the Harakian navy (Until the launch of the HNS Fortress in the indefinite future) and Battleship Squadron One's flagship. Over 300 metres long, the Firzha was a monster of a ship. Two triple 500mm turrets, one fore and one aft, provided it with enough firepower to destroy ships and any other targets from 40km away with impunity, while the secondary armament of three double 300mm turrets was more than adequate for a battlecruiser or light battleship and, on the Firzha, acted primarily as a safeguard against any ships getting in too close. Long and wide in the water, the Firzha was not alone on its hunt for Okielahoman blood. Surrounding it on three sides were the most readily-available battleships in the Harakian navy and also the most well-rounded, five Atherlon-class battleships.

Haraki's primary deterrent force outside of the massive carrier fleet, the Atherlons were big and burly. Only 35 metres shorter than the Firzha, they carried nine 425mm guns and four of the same secondary armament as the Firzha as well as a sizeable missile component. They cruised through the water quickly and efficiently. One was enough to frighten some smaller nations into submission. Five here, together with the Firzha, were more than enough to cause havoc and destruction on a scale not seen by the Harakian navy since the NATO wars. These six machines of death were on a mission to destroy every piece of floating scrap metal with the Okielahoman flag painted on it. Surrounding them were the rest of the squadron - the less important screening ships. Four Wolfe-class heavy cruisers, numerous smaller cruisers and destroyers, the carrier-cruiser HNS Raptor, and the two Retribution-class light carriers Griffon and Phalanx, whch provided the constant air cover that the squadron enjoyed. Each ship was loaded with guns and Haraki's customary massive amounts of CIWS armament.

Underneath the waves, nearly a dozen attack submarines cruised along in tandem with them. They had been on the surface for some time and had only dove quite recently to begin their approach to the Okielahoman convoy. As an aide went to wake Admiral Lambert, the subs accelerated enough to outpace the battleships, which maintained a slow and steady ten knots to allow the submarines to get ahead and give ample time for missile and aircraft strikes before accelerating to close and destroy the enemy. As Lambert was awoken by the words "It's time, sir," the submarines were long gone.

By the time he was on the bridge, there were only ten minutes left before the time would come to order the attack. Ten minutes of waiting. It passed mostly in silence, Lambert wrapping his arms around himself to try and escape the bitter wind that even managed to sweep through the bridge, which was indoors but close enough to open doors onto the superstructure that winds dozens of metres in the air swept through and chilled him to the bone.

By the time the time arrived, Lambert was glad for it. he wanted it to be over so he could go back downstairs to his comfortable cabin, one floor down with a door that closed and kept the wind out. Of course, the doors to the bridge closed as well but were open right now to allow easy access should something happen. Lambert looked out at the three other battleships visible from the Firzha's bridge and almost smiled. It had been too long since he had had a vital field assignement, and he was just glad Admiral Blaine had chosen him for the assignment. Plus it meant working with Admiral Tyrell, who was undoubtedly one of his idols.

"Sir?"

"Hmm?" he asked, shocked out of his reverie by the communications officer.

"Orders?"

"Fire."

There was no hesitation in his voice. He said the single word with confidence, knowing that his choice had been made long ago and that had he not said the word, someone else would have, eventually. The communicatios officer turned to his headset and uttered the words "Lambert's given the go-ahead. Repeat, fire at will."

The submarines, already in place as close as they could get, fired their torpedoes and got the fuck out of there. Around him, the five Atherlons and many smaller ships fired several volleys of Pikeman and Crossbow ship-to-ship missiles. The three aircraft carriers began launching more planes in preparation for the third wave, and the squadron adjusted its speed to near maximum.

It was showtime.

[From: Major-General Gregory Neil]
[To: Leutnantgeneral Luisa Rhurlunder]

So, Luisa, I guess you outrank me now. Should I call you sir?

Word on the street is that once we're done with mopping up here I'm going to be sent to Okielahoma to help with the actual invasion. 72nd Infantry - veterans of Atherton, Danteri, Okielahoma - I hate sending these boys to their death. At the same time, though, I find myself morbidly attracted to the possibility of more combat. It's getting to me, I suppose. I need a break.

A proposal from Admiral Tyrell was given to me as the new Harakian Liaison for Harakian-Neue Neue Deutsch Military Affairs to give to you - the long bullshit title basically means they talk to me and I talk to you, since I'm on good terms with the Neue Neue Deutsch military, being a decorated war hero and all - that, once Harakian carrier forces arrive off the coast of Okielahoma and begin conducting bombing raids, Neue Neue Deutschland could base airplanes off Harakian carriers for faster raids than can be conducted with long-range flights from Neue Neue Deutschland itself. A preliminary and somewhat superficial proposal, to be sure, but at least he's trying. This whole multinational integration thing isn't exactly his specialty, from what I've seen.

Word on the street is also that after this whole mess is finished, I'm going to be assigned (Thanks to my new administrative title) to the Neue Neue Berlin Harakian-NND military college to oversee some training and organize new diplomatic talks and proposals from the Prime Minister and parliament. Truth be told I'll enoy the break a gret deal more than I'll enjoy an invasion of Okielahoma. Don't know what I'll be presenting yet, though. Could be anything from wargames to giving you a fleet to annexing your country- joking. I suppose I'll find out when all this is done.

I hope I'll see you sometime soon. If not before, then when I make my fact-finding diplomatic mission to Neue Berlin. You gave me free lunch so many times I think I owe you something big. Won't tell you what just yet, though - because I don't know.

I'll see you soon. Right now I'm off to oversee the setting up of a proper beachhead.

ONN

Fighting in Eastern Okielahoma continues to intensify, as rebel leaders Owen and von Graffsted have ordered a massive offensive to come before an anticipated international invasion. The latest ONN poll shows support for the "Loyalist" government fading-36% and rebel support at 64% and increasing, up from 49% just a month ago. Count on ONN to keep you covered through the conflict.

Archipelago

Okielahoman forces were being beaten down on all sides. Their comrades before, 19000 or so were already dead. Many men were fighting for a cause they didnt beleive in. So- they surrendered. All of the remaining 987 soldiers have surrendered to Harakian forces invading the islands. No word yet on what Harakian forces will do with them.

Neue Neue Deutsch aircraft have bombed Loyalist Okielhoman positions, and appear intent on driving the remaining Loyalists out of Eastern Okielahoma. Mostly they were targeting infastructure, hitting roads, bridges and rail roads, and hoping that they can keep the Okielhoman government from effectively resupplying or retreating with minimal loss of life. If the Loyalist conscripts are fighting for a cause they don't believe in, then they don't deserve to be killed.

NND Losses:

The Neue Neue Deutsch Air Force hasn't lost any aircraft on these missions. A few have suffered light damage, true, but not many and not much - NND pilots report lighter AA fire than before as well.

Eastern Okielahoma

Rebel Commander Bennie Owen has met with invading Neue Neue Deutschland forces about 20 miles inland, and the two sides seem to have completely "allied" for the moment. Owen and his forces number around 25,000 strong experienced guerilla forces.

In the province that surrounds the federal district West III seems to have the strongest resistance in the lakes and forests. West has about 75,000 government troops backing him there. West III is currently belived to be in the capital of Lexington, in a private bunker with his top commanders.

Leutnantgeneral Luisa Rhurlunder watched the presentation with some interest. It appeared that the NND Ministry of Defense had recently secured for Neue Neue Deutschland the Production Rights to several different kinds of small arms and support weapons.
It fit in with the re-armament plan - with the ability to produce its own weapons, the Neue Neue Deutsch Republic would be a formidable foe to any dictatorship that threatened its freedom. Already it had Haraki as an ally - that enough was reason for any sane dictator to avoid a war with Neue Neue Deutschland.
Still, even with such powerful allies, having the ability to produce at least basic weapons in their own country seemed like a good idea. Some of the first examples of Neue Neue Deutsch-made weapons were being sent straight to the Okielahoman rebels - that struck her as an odd idea... shouldn't the Neue Neue Deutsch government fully equip its own military first? But, orders were orders... and it looked like the Okielahomans would be getting some of everything the Neue Neue Deutsch factories were currently producing: 250 HK G-36 assault rifles, 500 P-226 pistols, 100 AS-50 sniper rifles, a full 100 MG-4 SAWs and 100 MP5K-PDW sub-machineguns, in addition to 25 HK GMG automatic grenade launchers.
All in all, the list of weaponry was impressive - a little too impressive for Luisa's taste. She expected there might be trouble with the new Okielahoman government one of these days, and so would have rather seen those weapons enter the fighting in the hands of Neue Neue Deutsch soldiers as opposed to those of questionable-loyalty rebels.
Still, the fighting with the Okielahoman loyalists was going well as far as she could see - a few NND pilots had perished or been downed then rescued, but so far everything seemed to be going well.

Leutnantgeneral Luisa Rhurlunder cursed softly and repeatedly as she typed out the e-mail she was composing. It wasn't that she didn't enjoy communicating with him, but this recent issue, well, it made even the most pleasant task unenjoyable. Sighing, she sat back and examined the completed e-mail to Major-General Gregory Niel of the Haraki military.
He was her counter-part with that nation's military, the officer tasked with ensuring effective military coordination. She remembered back in Danteri, during the stand-offs against Undershi, or the Zukariaans, how she had seen him as some sort of all-knowing examplar of what senior officers should be. Now she only wished that were the case. Sometimes there were no good solutions. As was the case right now - the Antigirans looked set to intervene in the conflict between Haraki and its Neue Neue Deutsch allies on the one side and the crumbling Okielahoman government on the other.
She checked the e-mail, mentally reading it to herself:

Re: Antigir Intervention

Greg, things look bad here - the Antigirans seem set on an intervention, and my government is screaming for me to find out what your government is going to do so that they know which way to jump. It's almost humorous, really - they scream about "Neue Neue Deutsch Soverignty" in the Bundestag, but then, when it comes to military and diplomatic matters, seem too afraid to even contemplate taking a piss without knowing it's okay with Haraki.
Oh well - at least I'm not likely to be out of a job soon. I look forward to seeing you in Neue Berlin when this is all over - when things have finaly quieted down, we can actually take some time to talk and have lunch together, like we used to, okay?
Right now I've got a lot to worry about, though - I hope things are better on your end of things, and look forward to hearing back from you, whatever your government's response to the Antigirans is.

He was sitting in a small cabin onboard the HNS Arkia battleship sipping tenderly from a paper cup of instant coffee when the message reached his laptop through satellite uplink to the Harakian military network. His troops outside were loading onto transport ships to leave the archipelago, completely cleared of Okielahoman troops. He hadn't heard from the naval strike forces assigned to clear them a path to Okielahoma, but lookd forward to receiving word so they could get underway. The faster they got underway, the faster the damn war would be over.

He quickly crossed the room to his desk from the porthole where he had been watching the troops line up, APCs and jeeps driving around in the background, the massive transport ships lining themselves up along the shore to pick up the soldiers. Lifting the screen on his laptop, he clicked the e-mail button and read the new one, from the one name he looked forward to reading messages from.

Finishing it, he gave a slight smile as he finished his coffee, and quickly typed up a reply. Giving it a quick once-over for spelling, he musingly nodded his approval of what he had written and clicked the send button, leaning back in his chair once again. He couldn't wait to get off the frontline and into Neue Berlin, where he could relax some, and worry about what insulting thing he had said to some politician rather than some mistake he made that got hundreds of men killed.

I wish I knew what the hell was going on. Far as I can tell, Haraki's going to let Antigr join in the beatdown against Okielahoma. After all, they were essentially our allies until their withdrawal and Tyrell's threats. Tell your government not to worry. Haraki's in charge of their admission, and they've agreed to the terms that they don't do fuck-all unless we say they can. If they step out of line, we can handle it.

In other news, it looks like I'm about to be shipped out to invade Okielahoma under General Shartz' command. It might be my last combat command in a while since I'm going to Neue Berlin for a little while, and truth be told I'll kind of miss the 72nd. They're, in my opinion, by far the best fighting force in the army, and it's kind of nice always being the spearhead of the action. At least I always know what's going on. I hope they get a competent commander while I'm gone. If I get back and they've killed a lot of my men, I'll be fucking pissed.

Not that I'm dreading going to Neue Berlin. At the same time as my feelings towards the 72nd, I'm looking forward to getting away from this shit for a while. After what I've seen in the past few months, I really need some time clear my head, and I think this trip to Neue Berlin should be just that. Re: Can't happen too soon!

I'm looking forward to this war being over as well, and not simply because there are Neue Neue Deutsch pilots fighting in it. You can interpret that as you want to. I look forward to lunch with you - as you said, at least once or twice.
Things are quiet here right now - the elections are about two months away, though, and so things shouldn't stay quiet. It looks like the Centrist Democratic Party should hold on to power, but the Socialists look set to gain a few seats, as do the Radical Liberals and the oddly named "Radical Centrists" - all in all it seems to indicate that the leftist coalition will become a force to be reckoned with once more, which might be a bad thing - the joke in the Ministry of Defense here is that if the Socialists had their way, they'd have us fighting wars with single-shot muskets for cost control, while if the Radical Liberals had their way, they'd take away the muskets. You can tell which way I'm going to vote!
Anyways, enough about politics - things look good here, and I look forward to seeing you arrive and seeing this war end. I'll tell the politicians what you said of course. They'll accept it - that much I can assure you. In fact, they might even be pleased, for all I know. Well, goodbye. Greg, I hope this finds you well. Sincerly,
Luisa

As she clicked the SEND button, her smile began to fade - now she had to go and have that meeting with the Minister of Defense. She was finding his incompetence increasingly annoying - he was a politically appointed nothing, who didn't know the difference between MBTs and MREs, as far as she could tell. Having to explain everything to him was starting to bother her.

'Some time ago we released official surrender terms for Okielahoman forces before this whole conflict began and before tens of thousands were killed by allied bombing and naval raids and a civil war in Okielahoma.

'We shall reiterate these here and now, and let it be known that they have been made more harsh due to the necessary mobilization of parts of Haraki's military. These are non-negotiable terms as they are not peace terms but surrender terms. We are not interested in peace, which represents a compromise and an admission that neither side will win in the near future. This is nowhere near true. What we are interested in is the surrender of all Okielahoman combat forces. Here are our terms:

'The Okielahoman government will issue an official apology to the people of Danteri for their actions and submit all military leaders present in Danteri and all government leaders and ministers in power at the time to Harakian custody for war crimes trials in Harakian courts. Okielahoma will contribute its entire annual budget for the next two years to the Harakian and Gholgothian rebuilding efforts in Danteri and to help finance Haraki for the funds lost in partial mobilization of Harakian forces. Okielahoma will admit all guilt and responsibility for the razing of Westgate and the unlawful occupation of parts of Danteri, and submit the government to Harakian control for a restructuring of your government to prevent further atrocities such as those committed in Danteri.

We are deeply sorry for our predessesor's actions in your fine country and we know your loss and feel it deeply. We two have suffred through war [although not as long as yourse by any streatch] and we know your pain is real. All members of the military and governmnet who knew of the "Sack of Westgate" have been executed by the new government. In addition the 100 odd troops who were involved in this have alson been faced the military courts and a firing squad. However this is one problem. We to have a country to rebuild and i'm afraid we cannot commit our entire budget to this rebuilding. This is most absurd. Okielahoma as nearly 17,000,000,000 SM [Sooner Marks] in damage done, and the job of this government is to look out for its own people, not pay the prices of a previous and oppresive regime. We will commit billions of Sooner Marks to the rebuilding, but an entire budget of nearly 6 trillion Sooner Marks? This is most absurd. I do not mean to threaten but if you try to force this ruling, you may find your self in a bad position. We have allies you know.

Sincerely,

OOC: As your nation began this war at approximately 87 million people, that's what I was going by for all my war RPing, as it would not make sense that in the few days hostilities were occurring, your nation would grow by approximately 300 million people. As such, I would view the amount you owed as closer to two trillion Sooner Marks or less.

'Did you not hear me? Did my message not sink in?

'These are not peace terms. You surrendered, which means we dictate the peace conditions. These are the same demands we made before this war started, and before you had rebuilding to do in your own nation. Using that excuse does not change the fact that this money is needed to help finance the reconstruction of Danteri. Had you accepted before all this blood was shed, our original offer, we would not be in this position, and only half your national budget would have been taken to help rebuilding. Since you have now caused unjust pain and suffering to thousands, even millions of Danterians and caused Haraki, Neue Neue Deutschland and Antigr millions or billions of universal dollars in fees spent attacking your forces because you refused to accede to our first demands, this is on your head.

'These are surrender terms, not peace terms. If you want to turn them into peace terms, we will resume bombing runs, and we will continue to fight you until you surrender and agree to these terms.

'And do not threaten us with threats of allies. Do not forget that our allies are already involved in this. Or have you forgotten the fact that several days ago, following the Harakian declaration of war, our ally Automagfreek also declared war on you? Would you like me to go remind Damien Dreadfire that he was going to commit troops to this operation? Believe me, his terms will be much harsher than those I propose.

'If you continue to give us threats, compromises, and offers of your allies' involvement, we will respond in turn, and we will win. I guarantee you that right now.

'No matter what you bring to this war, we will win, we will cause more Okielahoman damages, and you will have more money to pay in the end. But however much money you have to pay to rebuild your nation at the end of this, however long you make it, our surrender terms will not change and you will not have to pay any less money. Make it easy for everyone, and consider yourself lucky we are not imposing harsher terms.'

“Attention all personnel, this is Alert Black-Six. I repeat, Alert Black-Six. Report to your aircraft. I repeat, report to your aircraft. This is not a drill.”

From Allanean airfields next to KaMaRi, enormous cargo aircraft took off, from C-130 ‘Galaxies’ through “Archimedes’ Lever”s, to the truly immense “Ouroboros” cargo craft, carrying paratroopers and equipment towards Okielahoma. The nation of Okielahoma was to their North, between them and the Gholgoth forces, and thus they did not fear Gholgoth attacks – not at this stage, anyway.

They were not ordered to attack anybody, but to deploy in Southern Okielahoma, and to start setting up makeshift airfields anywhere they could. The purpose would soon become apparent.

And to the Gholgoth soldier and announcement was made.

Official Announcement of the Allanean President

“Good day, Steven Tyrell.

This is President Alexander Kazansky talking to you. Let me make it clear to you, if you didn’t do your homework before invading the League region: Allanea has extensive military bases throughout the region. Allanea has an interest of not having Gholgoth conquer nations in the League. Allanea has an interest that you do not conquer Okielahoma. And therefore you will not conquer it.

Apparently, you are now claiming to be dictating peace terms to Okielahoma. Let me make this crystal clear to you. You will not be dictating anything to Okielahoma. You will, however, accept my compromise. You want some form of reparations, it appears. Allanea will pay those reparations – or rather, provide Okielahoma loans to pay them out, and further loans to rebuild their nations. You will accept this money, and leave in peace.
You will not attempt to occupy Okielahoma, or anything to that air. No. No. No. No.

Of course, you could try to fight the United States of Allanea, and every other ally that Okielahoma has. Any maybe you would win. Or maybe not. But let me promise you one thing, even if you win, Allanea will make you bleed on the shores of Okielahoma like you never bled before in your entire nation’s history.

I offer you, again, two options. Either you accept the money and leave in peace. Or you insist on occupying Okielahoma – and you pay through the nose in the lives of your sons and daughters for any victory you may gain here, and not see a dime of Allanean or Okielahoman money in the end. Is that worth it to you?

That is my word of peace, and my word of life.

Both of them are true.

It’s your choice, and nobody else’s.

That is all I have to say.

May God Bless Okielahoma.

And may God continue to bless Allanea.”

"Holy Shit!" First Commander Ron Jones said. Five minutes later all the planes were in the air heading towards the north east sea near Okielahoma. "What do we need to do?" Jones asked the base.

"All the planes are armed with Naval Mines, once above the water bombs away." One of the dispatchers said.

"Alright, makes sense, will do." Jones replied. About 45 minutes later the planes got to where they needed to be and dropped the mines. "Alright, all planes to the Aiken SuperInternational Airport. That's where all the planes will be staying." Jones said. All the planes landed there, while Jones awaited his next instructions.

Don't forget that Haraki has deployed a rather large fleet into this encounter, and are flying constant planes off the multiple carriers present, including Neue Neue Deutsch bombing runs against Okielahoman targets.

Why don't we back it up to your planes launching and my planes intercepting them, so as to avoid unfair advantages and godmoding?

Also, Allanea, check your TGs. I'm going to wait for a reply to that before I start replying diplomatically to you.

"This is Steven Tyrell."

"Yes. Admiral. We've run into a bit of a problem. As it stands now, enemy forces are trying to enter airspace which our fleets are controlling. Intentions unknown, could be bombing runs against our fleet or fighters trying to contest our air superiority. Anything in between, too."

"Damn it. I want you to intercept them with more planes than they're launching. Use the Griffons to take them out if they come anywhere near the fleet. Try and engage at long range to minimize casualties to our planes. Launch a missile strike against the base they came from, and begin joining the Neue Neue Deutsch with strikes against Okielahoman targets. Anything else?"

"Yes. Apparently Allanea is trying to intervene against us. They've offered an ultimatum that we withdraw and receive money or we have a bunch of people die, Admiral. Sent to you."

"I'm not a fucking politician."

"Sent to you."

"I'll forward it to the prime minister and let him have a gander at it. In the meantime, continue attacks on Okielahoma and whoever else tries to fight us. Our quarrel is not with these other countries, it's with the cowards who would burn a city down just because they can't have it. Second grade schoolyard antics. That's all it is."

"Yes, sir."

It had been a brief conversation, but he had gotten all he needed. Tyrell was on his way with the forces that had destroyed the Okielahoman convoy returning from Danteri, and they would arrive within 48 hours. Until then, he was under orders from his new commander.

"Captain," he said, turning to the man in charge of the vessel he was currently standing on. "Get air patrols on standby for an engagement. Launch more fighters than are coming at us, and prepare for a long-range engagement. Try to minimize casualties by taking them out with missiles. If they get close to the fleet, use the Griffons to bring them down. While that's happening, send messages to the missile cruisers to begin cruise missile strikes against the airfield that launched the planes. Once that's done, launch some bombers and escorts to begin bombing Okielahoman targets. Soften up the northern shore for future landings to happen within three days. Take out coastal defences, supply dumps, airfields, anti-aircraft stations - use missiles and airplanes, but I don't want to lose too many. Got all that?"

"Yes, sir."

Vice-Admiral David Finch turned back to the radar screens. Approaching forces. Now was the time for a reckoning.

Bushes Been Quaked, you didn't post how many planes you launched, but I assume it's under about a hundred. Just assume however many you launched multiplied by about 1.25 is how many fighters will be sent to intercept you, although an exact number from you would be nice so I could give one as well and get good RP going on.

All across Okielahoma airfields are beign thrown up overnight as the entire nation readies the country for war. In Norman the great western city citizens protsted Harakian policy by burning effidgies and the Harakian flag. All OKiean men and some women are excpected to defend teh homeland any way they can. The 10 million man exergency draft force has been deployed to strategic locationa across the nation. In the northern, western and eastern seas sea mines are being laid and anti personall claymore mines on the beach as well as anti vehicular mines. Bamboo traps and pits have also been created across the beaches. Meanwhile in the south 750,000 Okiean troops have moved on Antigr positions, demanding immediate surrender. An additional 5 Norman Class Battleships have also moved in along with 3 Typhoon Class Aircraft carriers and 15 Digmer class battleships. A nearly identical force is movign north to destroy similar Anrtigran positions. This is also in conjunciton with the Rejistanian navy. Antigran forces must surrender. This is our ultimatum.

Air Campaign

“Attention all air combat personnel in Rejistania. Report to your battlestations. I repeat, report to battlestations.”

The Air Armada based off Rejistania was rather large, consisting of 1,215 aircraft, however, it had it’s disadvantages – namely, that these aircraft were completely outdated F/A-18 fighter craft, not designed to face off against airborne juggernauts such as the Gholgoth war machine. But they were not even planning to try.

The air force took off, carrying not air-to-ground missiles, but instead, large amounts of air-to-air long range missiles. With them, they pelted any Harakian aircraft that would come into Okielahoman airspace. There was no intent or attempt to attack the Harakian naval forces proper, and thus, such an attempt was not made.

Instead, any aircraft that tried to bomb an Okielahoman airfield would be met by a hail of over-the-horizon missiles. Sure, these would be extremely expensive, but if Allaneans were good at something it would be overkill. After all, wasn’t the motto of Allanean programmers “If at first you don’t succeed, use more resources”?

But this was not all. Over the Okielahoma territory flew several squadrons of stealthy Lancaster bombers. They kept low, to avoid RADAR detection. When they reached the north-eastern shoreline, they were coming in at a ground-hogging fifty-meter altitude, the deafening roar of their engines causing sheep and cows below to split and bolt away from the herds.

Their aim was not to attack the enemy. The time for that had not yet come. They did not even approach the location of Haraki’s navy. Instead, they dropped tons and tons of seamines in the waters near Okielahoma, and anti-personnel landmines on the coast itself. The Harakians were in for some trouble.

Naval campaign

Near KaMaRi, the USS Semnetihaq turned and began to move, making way towards the Okielahoman shore. In the Allanean naval bases on Rejistania’s shore, nuclear submarines tore out of their pens like deranged fish from hell.

“USS Overprotected reporting, just left the pen, heading for the Northern shore of Okielahoma, over.”

“USS Hit Me Baby One More Time reporting, leaving pen now, heading for rendezvous point at the Northern shore of Okielahoma.”

“USS I’m Not A Girl, Not Yet a Woman reporting, crossing the Okielahoman Straight, heading for rendezvous point…”

In the meanwhile, the Allaneans made a swift political decision. From bases inside Rejistania, hundreds of tank carriers, IFV’s, and other vehicles emerged, cutting through the Rejistanian wilderness like a knife through butter, felling trees and tearing through pristine green land. They would care about the political fallout later. Right now, Okielahoma had to be saved.

At KaMaRi, Allanean cargo ships already waited to load the tanks and troops and take them towards KaMaRi.

At the front of the steel wave now rolling towards KaMaRi were five enormous A7V Peacemaker tanks, stepping over roads with their steel feet, crushing abandoned cars and waking up sleeping kaskada butterflies as oversized steel monsters made their way towards KaMaRi – and eventually, Okielahoma and victory.

Land Campaign

“Left! Right! Left!”

The Airborne troops rolled through the Okielahoman city, moving swiftly towards the shores, where they ordered to set up defenses. The ten-inch bayonets on their immense rifles glistened with water from the pouring rain, and so did their armor. And they sang. It was a song originally written for Allanea’s Boy Scout Corps, but since, it had long become a symbol of Allanea’s entire military.

O'er the earth the drums we hear,
Cannons pointed to the East,
O'er the Earth the winds will roam,
Boy Scouts follow after them.

They made their way through the city, and behind them, Allanean aircraft flew in from the Allanean mainland, sending soldiers, tanks, gear and equipment into Southern Okielahoma, where it was swiftly assembled and sent to the North.

What a Scout's dream is?
Lady Liberty's breath!
What's a Boy Scout's calling?
Killing statists dead!

In the Dominion, the Count relaxed in his leather chair. He watched the flames danced in his massive wolf head fireplace. He rested his eyes before looking like down at a report about some fool moving fleets towards the Dominion's allies. He looked out satellite pictures of this fleet.

“What a bloody joke! They don’t know how to do a navy. There is not a single support ship in that whole fleet.” he said out loud.

He looked back at the fleet again and picked up a phone next to him. He dialed a number and waited for someone to answer.

“Yes, milord. How can I help you?” asked a voice.

“Get some bombers together and escort fighters to bomb an enemy fleet to Davy Jones’ Locker.” said the Count. He added the location to this fleet as it travel there.

“Yes, milord.” said the man.

Five minutes later, the orders was out in four of the biggest air bases in all of the Dominion. The Dominion wasn’t playing this time. You mess with a Gholgoth, you have to deal with us all. You mess with an Commonwealth state's people, you have to play with the rest of the Dominion Commonwealth.

Four hours later, one thousand B-52 Stratofortress heavy bombers armed with seventy (70) 1,000 pound fuel-air bombs began to enter the air heading toward the location of that fleet. To add to that, each bomber had four Rafale multi-role combat fighters flying with it. A total of four thousand Rafale multi-role combat fighters, armed with a mix of air-air and air-surface missiles, flew with the proud bombers of the Dominion.

The massive air fleet of bomber and fighters took off towards the Okielahoman fleet, a fleet of battleships and air-carrier crafts only. The fools will all dead because this is not a fleet, it is a joke. The reason for that, where are the anti-air ships and supply ships?

An Official Message from the Dominion

To the Okielahoman and Allanean, stand down and save the lives of your men. The Okielahoman did this on themselves by burning down that city and kill all those within it. The forces of Gholgoth have all right to destroy those fools because they did something we didn’t want to happen. The deaths of civilians!

Only the deaths of your men will come unless you stand down.

Official Allanean Reply to Transylvania

Again, we are willing to satisfy all the positions of the Gholgoth alliance. To wit:

1. Those responsible for the burning of the city have been executed.

2. Allanea will provide loans for Okielahoma to repay the reparations and to reconstruct their nation.

3. Allanea insists that Okielahoma must become a democratic republic after this conflict, and we will guarantee it.

However, it is the demand of the United States of Allanea, the Crown Commonwealth of Praetonia, the Kalesic Democracy of Rejistania, and other members of the League reigon, that Gholgoth withdraw their troops from the League region, and never threaten it’s peaceful shores again. On this point, there can be no compromise, no surrender, no concessions – only victory.

Deny us peace, and you will not yield a single dime from the soil of Okielahoma, and no land – except to bury your sons in. Such is the will of The People of Allanea. So let it be done.

The First Lentine is never the person, who is expected to be in duty long enough to remember. During the last years no stable coalition could be created and most of the time, the position of the First Lentine was something which changes every 4 weeks. Syku Xiu was someone, who surprised all her critics by surviving entire 7 weeks in this position. Maybe it was her personality. She is a person, who appears like the "grandmother of the nation" Hank~hila Sede, not only in looks, but also in the way she talks and what she says. In her address to the nation, she emphasized the similarity a bit by wearing an old-fashioned suit in beige, the uniform of founding-period politicians.

The mood at the headquarters of the Bushes Been Quaked Military was dreary. A bunch of the planes that had went to drop naval mines had been shot down by the Harakian Air Force. The rest of the planes were in Okielahoma waiting for further orders. The Army, Navy and Special Ops had all been sent to Okielahoma as well. Almost all of Bushes Been Quaked Military supplies were in Okielahoma, all that was left in Bushes Been Quaked was 3 tanks, 1 fighter plane, 1 battleship, and 250 soldiers. A few days ago....

Daniel Straughn, Chief Security Officer of The Garbage Men was in his highly secure office on the The Garbage Men island reading some reports from the conflict in Okielahoma.

"This is not good. If the Golgoth take even a part of Okielahoman territory they could spell enourmous trouble for our economic interests as well as TGM soil. I need to take this to the CEO."

It was a long hour and half meeting that ended up with the CEO argeeing to support the Okielahomans.

The next few days saw the hurried preperation of a number of armaments, the entirity of the The Garbage Men Security Forces (TGMSF) was put on alert and ships carring personnel and heavy equipment to Okielahoma around the far edge of The League to ensure as little chance for news to carry to their opponents. In fact as TGM does not allow any foreigners on it's soil probably the only way to know that they where coming would be by sattelite coverage.

In addition, Air-Superiority fighters 500 of them left the Island and on their way to Okielahoma.

Infact as soon as they had left the CEO, Branden Hoats made a televised address that was beamed around the region.

"My fellow members of The League, The Garbage Men can no longer sit by and wait for a valuable member on this region to be overrun. Golgoth can have not foot, toehold or ever a toenail hold in this great region of ours. If they do no one even TGM will be safe. And thus I am declaring war upon the Golgoth alliance. The forces that wish to destory our region will not prevail. Okielahoma forces are being readied as we speak to fight."

How previously he had informed the okielahomans as well as other allies once the formal declaration of war had come that assistance was on it's way.

First, the OOC...

Okielahoma, we do have a rather fleet in place off your north-east coast. It was dispatched at the same time as my initial attacks in Danteri to take up positions off your coast, and is accompanied by a sizable army in transport ships. Combine this with the Far Southern Fleet moving to meet up from Danteri and where they intervened and sunk your convoy. This fleet is the one that has been housing the Neue Neue Deutsch bombing campaign against Okielahoma. Since Bushes Been Quaked said that his forces were being dispatched from Bushes Been Quaked, not from Okielahoma, and being sent to drop mines in the north-east sea region of Okielahoma, I was perfectly within my capacities to launch an intercept from the aircraft carriers present in that fleet.

Bushes Been Quaked, any information on that missile strike against the airfield?

Now, on to business.

Oh, and by the way, anyone complaining about my satellites being unable to do that for whatever reason (I'm not an expert on satellites) here is my reasoning for being able to detect bombers using satellites:

The satellites I use for wartime reconnaissance have a built in program where, as they watch the earth below, they take a rapid succession of pictures over the timeframe of, oh, say, a minute, then wait and take more several minutes later. Any object which moves a significant amount in that one second (Basically, any fast-moving object such as a plane, truck or tank) is highlighted on the images together with the direction of travel, speed and other such details, which are reviewed by operators. A boring job, but a necessary one. When they see something like a cluster of objects all moving in the same direction at the same speed, they take a closer look at it. If it's a moving division, or a plane squadron, or whatever, it is red flagged and the images are dispatched to the commander of forces in the area. A handy tool for keeping an eye on enemy troop movement.

The Allanean bombers were good, Finch had to give them credit for that. They were avoiding his radar perfectly, and none of his ships could detect them, his planes either. It was eerie, to know of their existence and yet be unable to see them on his most reliable source.

It was the satellites that betrayed them. Keeping an eye on Okielahoman territory, the images produced had shown several squadrons of heavy bombers approaching the Harakian fleet. The produced images were red-flagged by the operator checking those satellites, and immediately dispatched to Finch's command centre on the HNS Folvio, a Cain-class nuclear supercarrier. He panicked, imagining a massed aerial attack on his ships which they would be unable to detect until it was too late.

The other frightening ordeal was the armada of Allanean fighters approaching from Rejistania. They outnumbered his available fighters from the currently-assembled carriers, although the arrival of Tyrell's fleet within the next 24 hours would change all that. Without knowing any of the politics involved or going on in the background of the conflict, Finch at least knew one thing: he should be able to get in one fighter strike against the bombers before he was forced to withdraw thanks to the fighter armada.

He was not a brilliant man. He followed orders to the letter, and that had let him rise through the ranks, but he lacked innovation. He would rely on Tyrell to come up with ways to defeat the fighter armada or to thwart them, for now his priority was the safety of his ships. While not the smartest admiral, he was at least very protective of what assets he had, and his low rate of ships sunk in maneouvres or operations had helped his rise through the ranks.

With his one fighter strike, he would have to make it count. Having recently sunk several dozen Bushes Been Quaked planes with very few losses, he felt fairly confident in the skill of his pilots and the presence they could project. After they had launched, he would radio Tyrell on the Arkia and request orders as to the armada and continued strikes against the Okielahoman airfields. He would be here soon, and Finch could waive overall command to the superior admiral.

The fighters were sent from all available units. What planes could be launched in time to avoid the approaching fighters were scrambled, and a significant force of the planes on constant air superiority patrols over the fleet itself were dispatched as well. A total of approximately two hundred fighters would be sent, designed to take down every single Lancaster bomber. He estimated a very short amount of contact time before they would have to withdraw, so the fighters were ordered to close to as close as possible and get as good angles as possible - without being shot down - before firing missiles, to avoid misses and thus prolonging the dogfight. Once all bombers had been downed or at least forced to turn back, or when Finch gave the order to retreat from the Allanean fighters, the fighters would hurry back to the Harakian fleet.

He hoped it would be enough time.

After the orders had been given and the fighters were being sent, he had more time to review radar, IFF readings, and so on for the Allanean fighters hurrying towards Okielahoman territory. Over a thousand Hornets. Outdated, but still a threat, and after all any fighter could carry a deadly missile.

His conversation with Steven Tyrell went somewhat roughly. He had no good news, and Tyrell did not seem in the best mood. Vicious weather near the Arkia had dampened his mood, although it had not slowed the speed of his fleet.

"Tyrell."

"It's Admiral Finch, sir. I have a few ... problems."

"What are they?" Tyrell snapped.

Finch, slightly taken aback, carried on more carefully. "Well ... we downed about half of the Bushes Been Quaked planes with no real losses, but we're confronted with problems of the Allanean kind. Bombers, suspected to be on a mission against our fleet, are flying low under our radar. We only spotted them thanks to some lucky work by a satellite operator back in Haraki. This, combined with over a thousand Hornets in the air moving to protect Okielahoma - we guess - is a bit troublesome."

"What the fuck? Dave, this is not good."

"I know, sir. I ordered an emergency intercept against the ghost bombers, but the fighters present another problem. If they're attacking the fleet we could be in trouble. If they're just contesting air superiority over Okielahoma, we may have to stop bombing raids."

"I don't think they would attack a fleet with just fighters. The bombers are probably for that. My guess would be for air superiority over Okielahoma, since we've been bombing their airfields mercilessly. Good thing that many planes will be hard to support for a long period of time, especially with what we've got running."

"What do you mean, sir?"

"Look at it this way: We just blew up a bunch of important Okielahoman airfields in the area near our fleet (Unless, of course, Okielahoma decides to post a reaction to my several bombing raids before the Allaneans step in). They're throwing up new ones but with such little time to work on them, they'll be fairly shoddy work for some time. Recall bombing raids, but carry on with missile strikes against airfields, especially ones they're throwing up trying to be big. hit the construction crews and important structures."

"Yes, sir. Why?"

"It will keep them from being able to base any significant amount of planes near our fleet, meaning any planes over northeastern Okielahoma will have to come either from airfields in western Okielahoma or from Rejistania. This means significant flight time in between launch and engagement, which gives us an advantage since our carriers are right here."

"I see, sir. Anything else?"

"Wait until some of the Allanean fighters leave to resupply and refuel, see which airfields they land at - they'll most likely be trying to base in Okielahoma to be close to the action - and launch missiles at those airfields. Crater the runways and destroy planes on the ground. While the air fleet is depleted, launch fighter attacks. Don't attack them directly, but use small forces of fighters which will engage at long range and run away back to the protection of the fleet's CIWS and Griffon missiles. Any long-range missiles they fire can be taken out by the CIWS before they hit our planes, and any time they pursue us we can bring them down with Griffons (High-speed, high maneouvrability 150km range anti-air missiles, present on most Harakian anti-air and missile cruisers, so abundant in this fleet). No head-on engagement, just use the fleet's missiles to destroy them if they come close enough."

"Yes, sir."

"I'll be there in eighteen hours. Don't fuck it up, Dave."

"Yes, sir."

He was abruptly cut off. Tyrell was not in a good mood.

[From: Prime Minister Jaime Wolfe]
[To: Allanean Government]

While I do see the merits of your newly-proposed peace deal, complete with the executions of those involved with the Westgate Massacre, Allanean money, and Allanean guarantees of Okielahoman government reform, I must protest your last point.

On the presence of Gholgothian force in the League. Rest assured that we had no desire to occupy any part of Okielahoma beyond the timeframe of institution of a new, democratic government, and we have no desire to have a base in the League's territory. We see no need to make an enemy here, and no need to have a presence in the League's territory, with no enemies there. Our power projection capabilities are good enough as is, and we are perfectly willing to withdraw all troops at any moment as if nothing had happened.

However, the promise of never again sending troops to the League is something I cannot grant. While I have no desire to send troops to the League ever again, and have no quarrel with the nations in the region, I cannot make a promise like that given the uncertain nature of the future of the world. Were I to make this promise now, and a League nation were to declare war on me in the future, or commit another atrocity such as the razing of Westgate, I would not be able to properly contest them. Were the League to degenerate until all democratic nations had renounced membership or become corrupt, genocidal dictatorships, my promise would still stand and I could do nothing about it.

Rest assured that once this is over, I have no intention of ever threatening the League in any way, ever again. But a promise like that is a promise I cannot make, for given the uncertain nature of life, at some point in time, not to attack you or Okielahoma or Rejistania or any of the nations there, but for future, corrupt members, for members who take actions which require military action by Gholgoth and perhaps even by the League itself, I cannot make such a promise. While I would like to concede you something on this point, I truly cannot. However, as I am not an unreasonable man, I will instead offer the following:

Provided Allanea follows its three outlined points, all Gholgothian forces will withdraw from League territory immediately and unilaterally. At no point in the foreseeable future and as long as the League remains in its current state of benign, peaceful non-aggression, Gholgothian (or at least Harakian) military forces will hold to the promise to forever remain out of League territory.

I am afraid this is probably the best we can offer at this time. I hope we can find a peaceful compromise, as Haraki holds no desire to make the United States its enemy.

OOC: And mine! (Although only as a supporter of Haraki - Haraki deserves the credit for the victory.)

Leutnantgeneral Luisa Rhurlunder let out a satisfied sigh as she finished the last report, and began logging out of her computer. From the other offices, she could hear laughing and cheering - the war was over, and in the Neue Neue Deutsch Ministry of Defense, people were celebrating. She intended to avoid the celebration if she could - she didn't want to have to go to work with a hang-over tommorrow. After all, what with the recent increase of Kravenite activity, it paid for every nation anywhere to be ready for anything.
As she placed her papers in the appropriate files, and prepared to head home, she shivered - the Kravenites scared her, with their "supermen." It was raining outside, she noticed as she walked past a window in the hall on her way towards the stairs. She thought it was appropriate that it would be raining - this very night the Minister of Defense would be sitting solemnly in the Neue Berlin Cathedral, and listening to the funeral service for the nine Neue Neue Deutsch Airforce pilots who had perished during the war with Okielahoma.
What did she have for tommorrow anyways, she thought as she fastened her coat and walked out into the rain. If she remembered correctly, she would have some details to clear up with Haraki, and not much else. The thought of Haraki reminded her of Major General Niel - she wondered where he was and what he was doing.
As she stood under the shelter and waited for the train, she thought about the future, and wondered about what would happen now that the war with Okielahoma seemed all but complete. She hoped the next war would be a good ways off, but she couldn't be sure.

OOC: I just noticed that a rather interesting typo in my message which Allanea accepted says that Gholgothian forces will never withdraw from the League. Now, whether to RP that or not IC is another matter altogether.

Also, this RP is hereby over and the Danteri timeframe can skip ahead fifteen months. I'll post the finishing touch sometime tomorrow, probably.

The first sign of the two Harakian fleets meeting each other was the cresting of the horizon by the bridge of the HNS Chimera, one of Haraki's largest battleships. They almost seemed disappointed. As the two fleets mixed and mingled in international waters outside League territory and security was relaxed slightly, Steven Tyrell took the opportunity to meet with his subordinate, one Vice-Admiral Favid Finch, and Tyrell seemed slightly upset when the two men came face to face. They greeted each other with salutes, on the bridge of the HNS Folvio, and when finished Tyrell walked over to the window and leaned his hands on the windowsill there, gazing out at the vast fleet he commanded, which he would not get to command in war, at least not now. he sighed and turned back to Finch, leaning on the windowsill.

"It's a damn shame, Dave," he said sadly.

"What is, sir?"

"The fact that all these fine ships have come here together and are sitting off the shore of a country we hate, that deserves to die for what they have done, and our fucking politicians won't let us shoot them. I'm under orders to 'bring them all home', so to speak. All the ground forces that just sat in transport ships, all the sailors that just powered engines. I have to tell them there's no war. I have to tell them 'You're going home, boys.'"

"Sir, I'm very happy we escaped without a war." Finch seemed incredulous at what the other admiral was saying.

"You're a fucking peacenik, Dave," Tyrell said with a sigh. "I know it, and I know why. Father was an admiral in the fleet, died in the war with our best friends and neighbours so many years ago in an airstrike on his command ship. Brother, first officer of the HNS Shannon, died when his ship was destroyed in the NATO Wars. Two sons, both served on the HNS Ganz, both died when the hull ruptured during a submersion exercise when the faulty hull ruptured and the ship collapsed inwards."

The look of horror on the other man's face told Tyrell the things he had brought up were far from Finch's favourite subjects. He knew it, but Tyrell still carried on unabated. "You don't like war because people like your family die. You like protecting your ships, you don't like seeing people hurt or dying because it reminds you of your own personal loss. I don't blame you, and I understand you." He turned back to the window. "Me, though, I've never lost a relative. Only child. Father worked in a car factory outside Susa, died of a heart attack at age sixty-two. I've been in the navy since I was eighteen years old, and I've seen it all. I was actually there when your dad died, Dave. I brought down two enemy planes there, and I took joy in ending the lives of those who had ended so many lives of our good men. Men like your father.

"It's a fucking hard life, Dave. People die. People live. It's all random. My point is, you hate seeing people die and I don't blame you. Right character traits, you're the perfect admiral for some jobs. Me, I'm cut from a different cloth. Adam Shartz, too. I know we have a reputation in the officers' lounge, I hear the pot on when Adam gets dishonourably discharged is up to a few thousand dollars. We fucking kill the enemy as good and as fast as we can, and we do anything to make them give up. A few people like your dad will die, but most soldiers and sailors are shitheads and they deserve a bullet in the head. Our side, too. It's when the good ones die it makes us sad, makes us hate war. But I feel no remorse in killing some fucker that had the nerve to drop a bomb on my ship. I don't feel bad for his family, because to me he's one of the soulless killing machines. And if I can get my soulless killing machines onto theirs as fast and as hard as I can, less of the good people die.

"You starting to get my point, Dave? I love war. I love the taste, the smell, I love seeing these huge ships move through the water, their only purpose being to blow something else up. I fucking love it. And if it makes me a damn brutal man, so be it. If it makes me a soulless killing machine, I don't mind, because it makes me that much better at leading a horde of them.

"I guess I'm rambling a bit. Point is, the people downstairs, a lot of them are like you. They'll be happy to get back home and see their wife and kids. But you have to remember, we have a volunteer army. That means most of the people downstairs joined up so they could kill people our leaders don't like. Hell, it's why I joined up. And they'll be sad they don't get to kill any on this trip."

"I think you're wrong," Finch replied almost immediately. "I think people joined the military to do some good in the world, knowing Haraki's reputation, and I think the ... soulless killing machines, as you put it, are the minority."

Tyrell shrugged. "Suit yourself," he said. "Now let's turn this fleet around and head back home."

The fleet took ten minutes to get turned around and organized properly for the trip back to Haraki. And hundreds of ships moved out, their innards filled with men who could be soulless killers, family men, or anything in between.

OOC: For the record, Gholgoth as a whole was not involved in this war. This was Haraki's conflict for the most part.
OOC: Sorry if my post sounded like that, it was more of a "Other nations in Gholgoth are coming, so back down." If your not refrencing my post, then pretend I was never in this thread.

To: Leadership of Haraki

Dear friends!

You know that both our nations had recently gone to war – a skirmish, even. You know we just signed a peace treaty, as well, that had benefited both sides – you received your money and a change of government in Okielahoma, while we spread democracy to yet one more nation, secured the safety of Rejistanians and will be getting our money back (it seems Questers may be willing to foot Okielahoma's bonds). Everybody wins.

I would like to suggest that we use this peace treaty not merely as an end to warfare, but as a stepping stone to better relations – perhaps even alliance – between our countries. As such, I recommend that you should visit Liberty-City with a visit of state, and discuss a better, and more constructive relationship between Haraki and the United States of Allanea.

Sincerely yours,

Alexander Kazansky,
President for Life of the United States of Allanea.

OOC: Antigr, this thread is not dying, it is ending. There's a significant difference. I'm just going to wait a little bit before posting a 'fifteen months later' piece, and then it will be officially ended.

Also, Allanea, 'next Wednesday' does not in fact mean 'next wednesday in real life'. We can start whenever you get the thread up.

[To: Alexander Kazansky]

I would be glad to take you up on your offer. I feel this recent conflict was mainly a misunderstanding and I am glad we could resolve it peacefully, and without too many lives lost. As we have never had close relations with the United States, I would like to take this opportunity to see why that is and attempt to resolve any problems standing in our way.

I would be happy to visit Liberty-City and meet with you to discuss these affairs in more detail. As I have nothing of significance occurring next week, I recommend we schedule this for starting next Wednesday. See you then.

OOC: Can we skip ahead fifteen months now? I would like to be able to recall my troops, if that's OK with everyone.

OOC:
Nah. I won't be able to make any posts if we just now skip.
