A Grand Parade

Pablicosta

The sound of ceremonial drums boomed out through the packed streets of Pablicosta City as the 72 million inhabitants lined the streets, balconies and the hovering platforms for miles arround.
The whole city was silent but for the thunderous music which echoed through every backstreet and park, eminating from the 200 strong marching band of the Pablicostan' Presidential Guard. The glorious band of elite musicians wore their traditional blue garments with bright white lapels and gold tipped hats. Their perfectly shined instruments caught the sun beautifully as the lead group marched with perfect synchronisity, foot to foot, arm to arm.
The monumental crowd looked on, gazing with a common pride for the nation they love; every family seemed more so than the previous.
As the band approached the corner of 'The Row'; straight towards the greatest public park in the land 'Haddox Park' where they would turn right and march onward to their destination at 'South Point', they halted, stood to attention and waited for precisely 5 seconds.
After that short pause the 1st Royal Guard began its march from the park right into the path of the Marching band where they also halted. Their black and gold uniforms contrasted fantastically against the blue of the band and their golden equipment. The military arm of the 1st Royal Guard lowered their swords, which to this point they had held vertical and central to their chest, and docked them on their right side before delivering the most authorative of salutes to the band. The band simultaniously replied in the same manner and both units lowered their arms.
The bass drummers beat out 3 massive beats, cueing the Royal Guard to turn left and in perfect time with the band striking up its tune again began marching forward towards the glorious monument which stood at 'The Great Plaza', 200 yards from them.
Central to the plaza stands the 150ft 'Watchers Point', an octagonal column reaching into the blue sky, topped by the Watching platform upon which stood the flag of Pablicosta. To the left and right of the tower stand the Presidential flag, and the Royal Flag. To the front of the monument, heading the plaza flies the flag of Texas the long time home of Pablicostans.
Beyond the plaza, only 100 yards further stands the magnificent Royal Palace, home to the King of Pablicosta, King Vincent II. Its glorious walls built from rare white stones of Pablicosta, stood perfectly amongst the greenery of Haddox Park, central to the front side of the Palace is the semi circular balcony where the King would make his address.
By this point the 2 groups has reached the plaza opening where they stood facing the Palace at attention, and the band resumed its silence with 2 resounding beats of the drums.
"Shiaaaa Kwas!", roared the Royal Guard Commander, which translates from the ancient tongue to "Royal Salute"-prompting the entire unit to draw their fire arms, aim to the sky and fire off two succesive rounds in perfect time before lowering their guns again and drawing their swords.
As their silvered swords were held in the air the King emerged onto the Palacial Balcony.
His attire was perfectly fitting, the ancient Royal cloak with his personal crown aswell as the chalice which is symbolic of the rebirth of Pablicosta. A second Royal Salute powered out from the Royal guards rifles as the King offered up a salute and looked down at his people.
"My people, our prosperous path is allmost complete. Our Colonies away from this planet are well established, and our Base Water kingdom is thoroughly magnificent. The time has come to settle back here on Earth, expansion is complete and our people here are truly great Pablicostan's.
As a nation we must strive to ensure this world remains a peacefull one. We will engage those who are determined to destroy this great planet at the negotiating table, and our superior military will strike at those who continue to defile this planet.
Most importantly, we must remain a strong nation. A respected force here. A respected people.
We are one people, and we are a great people. I thank you, Pablicosta."
