Well, i while ago rejistania had a similar thing, it was a good RP.then since martentopis won it, he was supposed to start the second one, but this has not happened. so I will start a similar event.

criteria: Everyone signs up in this thread, like you do for a world cup (simple "we sign up" post). then in the rp thread there will be 2 waves of rp's. In the first, posts shold give a description of the national final, and show the title of the nation's song and its artist. In the second wave, everyone posts their show. This should include what happens on the stage and that kind of stuff, and must include the lyrics, unless by some way you are able to make a video of it. Do not use artists/songs that exist in RL. Voting will be done IC this time, so you shoulld post your votes in the thread at that time, the way its done in eurovision ( giving the best songs (in your opinion) points, the best 12, second best 10, then next 8, then 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1.

That's a bit of a silly rule, if you ask me. There's mice and all sorts of creatures playing football, so why wouldn't bears be allowed to sing? If he RPs them as having a singing voice, then they can sing. Or maybe they just grunt, which is probably more musical than most of the stuff on the market today. Either way, not for you to decide what his imaginary race of imaginary creatures is or isn't capable of.

The Holy Empire signs up, but only on condition that the singing bears are allowed to participate.

I also think that it all is RP. If someone RPs the bears as singing, or grunting and making melodic noises to the music, why not?!

If the representative of Swilatia means that they were joking about our nation being excluded from this contest then we are not amused, and our legislature is currently debating whether to withdraw our application for a place.
If the representative of Swilatia means that they think our application itself was intended as a joke then let us assure them that it was in fact meant seriously, as seriously as was our application for a place in the recent '1st NSOC Summer Olympics’ where -- despite only having entrants in 19 of the many events contested -- our team managed to attain 2 gold medals (Women's Weightlifting [Heavyweight], Men's Shot Put) and 1 silver medal (Men's Wrestling [Freestyle, Heavyweight) .
We thank the governments of Alasdair I Frosticus, The Archregimancy, and all of the other nations that expressed concern about the Swilatians' apparent speciesist attitude: Gift packs of assorted special varieties of honey have been despatched to them.

in OOC posts nothing. in IC posts they are not allowed, because its unrealistic, you can't just say a smiley. and although the sign-up posts are OOC, the actual contest is IC, so smilies won't be allowed there, i do not sign-up people with smileys in their post so that they realise that they are not supposed to use it when RPing.

Dude, you have issues, seriously. About half a dozen people used a smiley in their OOC sign up post, me included. And now you develop a sudden allergy to that?

Sometimes, it is better to fork an idea than to go on the wrong path. I am seriously annoyed by the tone in this thread and the random decisions of Swilatia. Therefore, I officially WITHDRAW and start the second NSVision song contest (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=500649).

The NSVision is supposed to be a place where differant nations can come together and celebrate through song. We didnt join to be pushed around and have an authoritarian power constricting every little thing we do - like posting a smiley face. For this reason Fattyboland has decided to take its entry elsewhere. Maybe you will learn your lesson and get to host NSVision next time :)
