The Gold Cup
100 million Chicanadan pence up for grabs for football (soccer) clubs
The CFA, in conjunction with Gillinshire Invertments and MyBet.chc, are proud to introduce a new competition for footballing (soccer) nations. The Gold Cup is meant to bring both fun and revenue to domestic clubs around the NS as a bridge between NS Champions League and NSFA Cups.
How It Works
Each nation that wishes to send teams can send up to 2 sides to compete. You can pick those who compete any way you want - top-flight, IAFL sides, domestic cup winners, clubs needing cash, whatever. 40 clubs will be participating in the event in Chicanada (2 home sides and 38 others). We do expect more than 38 clubs to sign up to compete, so qualifiers would be held.
Structure
The finals start with 8 groups of 5 playing 4 matches (1 against each side) in Chicanada at one of ten stadiums. Top 2 sides progress to a knockout stage, with the Winner being crowned at the new Villa Park stadia in Cana.
If qualifying in necessary, we'd be looking for the smallest groups to get it done as quickly as possible.
Teams will get KBP ratings - 1/8th of their home nations's rating will be used for both clubs in the competition.
And this money thing...
25 million pence (please see NSeconomy to determine what that is in your currency) will be given to the winning club, with 20 million to second place, 16 million to third place, 10 million to fourth place, 20 million being split amongst the loosing quaterfinalist and the 8 sides that make the knockouts but lose splitting 8 million.
Of course, the money will be used by the club to pay for whatever they need - stadium financing, signing players, paying off babymommas, supplying crack, what have you. No strings to the funds (although we do expect thjem to be used BY THE CLUBS for THE CLUBS and not lining someone's pockets).
But what about our fans?
We want them here! Travel accomidations to all sites for matches will be available though the CFA and Cananite Airlines, the official airline of the CFA. Sites will be provided once the tourney gets underway.
We in Chicanada look forward to seeing all clubs and nations make their way to the Kodiak Nation for the (hopefully annual) Gold Cup! So sign up your clubs!
