Emergency Reconstruction Act
In accordance with the Military supply act (1947) and the emergency logistics act (1950), all citizens classified as non-essential labour on their A-1 Identification in the military provinces of Deka, Boniface and Verve will be reduced to ‘access brown’ supplies only. Furthermore, the free sale of any food item is temporarily suspended.
In addition the output requirement of all essential industry (both supply and production) will be readjusted by an increase of 15% over the next 12 months. Enforced work groups will supplement the manpower requirement for this task. All saboteurs who fail to achieve the adjusted production rates can expect harsh and quick punishment. We cannot be idle while our enemies assail us!
We have enacted these measures because of continued assault upon us by foreign nations, metahumans and internal traitors! This temporary privation will ensure the glorious victory over the forces that seek to eradicate our way of life. All enemies of the state, all those who carry out economic sabotage and crimes against the kingdom of God will be punished. We will prevail. We will survive! Iesus will be rebuilt by our suffering! A new age is upon us!
Long Live Iesus Christi!
Bridgette Iesus. Ministry of Social order.
The news ran through the country quickly. Rationing had been theoretically in place in Iesus Christi since the revolution, but in recent years the rationing ‘access level’ system had all but been suspended, with all citizens (excluding Prisoners) being rated ‘access green’ allowing them practically free range in regards their purchasing.
The implications of ‘access brown’ weren’t lost of anyone…. Millions of Iesus citizens who were rated non-essential living in the targeted provinces had suddenly been reduced to a near starvation diet… nothing like this had been in effect since the last ‘War of national survival’
Rumours quickly spread about exactly why those three provinces had been targeted…Rumours of foreign agitators, criminal conspiracies and treason became common place explanations.
Elsewhere the discussion were around how Iesus industry could be increased by 15%….the already harsh conditions of Iesus industry were about to get tougher and become hellish for those unfortunates in the work camps.
Dark clouds drifted in and lightning flashed as the nurse uprooted plants on the hillside, searching for anything edible to feed the emaciated patients. The crows cried as the nurse hurried back to the hospital with an arm full of roots.
Only weeks after the announcement, the rural “Mother Agnes” hospital in Deka was learning the reality of the ‘Access brown’ diet.
The head doctor had been arrested on unknown charges and executed…his body had been left hanging in the town square for over a week as a lesson to others. Ten other hospital staff members had been taken away after they had voiced concern over the reduced diet’s impact on the sick.
Still the loudspeaker of the hospital continued to play speeches from the Ministry….
“Do not blame the government for your hardship! Blame the traitors around you! Blame the foreigners and those who wish to destroy us…”
“THEY ARE WEAK! Degraded maggots not worthy of to serve me! It is time we shake of the shackles of those who hold us back! The rest of the government has shown itself to degenerate to rule…only we have the divine mandate for power! For years we have been working for this….building up…let us prove that we are worthy! Let us not falter at this last step! Victory to the strong! Power to the worthy! Glory to we who deserve it!”
