Recently the populus of the Free Land of Eelwallet decided it was time to change the flag.
Being an up-and-coming nation, members of the Supreme Council decided that this was a chance to gain alliances with neighboring nations.
In proposition now is the bill that states that Eelwallet is open to suggestions on our nation's flag.
"Chancellor Nakiim, have you heard the recent murmurings?" A tall slender man exclaimed as he burst through the double oak doors into the burgundy furnished office of the chancellor. "The Public are on the verge of revolt!"
Nothing came form the high backed leather chair that held the Chancellor. As the chair spun slowly around the intruder noticed the grim face of the powerful man nestled in th plush leather.
"How dare you barge in on me, I should have you executed!" As the Chancellor continued his rant his face grew redder and redder, and the froth began to collect on the corner of his lips.
"Sir i am truly sorry!" The now grovelling man squeeked. "How can i make it up to you?"
continuing his heated tone, but this time not so harshly the Chancellor proclaimed "Obviously I knew of the public's outcry I am the one who started it. I have decided to try something out on our adoring public." Cooly he said, "It is time we opened up trade amongst other nations."
"How do you plan to do that?" secretary Haj asked meekly.
"If you just listen ill tell you!" "I have an agent planted in amongst the public, who has been gaining influence over the years." "He has been pushing the idea that our flag is too old fasioned, and no longer represents us as a country. "I propose that anyone who is willing, from this nation or others, can create an idea for our flag. If the accepted idea is from another nation, I will grant that nation access to ours without the need for passports or background checks."
"Oh i see, but wont that...[BOOM]
And with a thud secretary Haj landed on the floor in a pool of his own gore.
"Insolent Fool, only I and Jakal may know of the plan."
Not too far away in a bar that's reputation was not too clean, a man standing with his back to the wall feels a chill run down his spine.
In the dimly lit room the man's tipped hat and pulled up cloak show little except his eyes. The man just ordered the bar's most potent shot and drained it, much to the onlookers' suprise. It wasn't a surprise that he had drunk it just the fact that he was still standing afterwards.
To the man it was no surprise because he had a secret.
Five years ago Jakal had gone through a serious plane crash and had been given up for dead. Dead that is till the government had gotten control of him. He was given their new expiramental nano-bots and had shown regenerative properties beyond their wildest dreams. These nanomachines had also affected his brain. He began to break the restraints that held him due to the new found nano-induced strength. Once he got free he headed to the lead scientist and grabbed him by the throat. But before he could do anything to him, twelve elephant stopping darts wailed into his side and neck.
That was when the project and subject were terminated. They were deemed too dangerous for society and dumped into the ocean thought to be dead.
This would have been true except for the burning revenge on the mans mind that was all that saved him, that and the nanomachines.
Since that day he had trained and reached levels that no human had before.
he had mostly hung out in bars and had a couple of jobs as the bouncer but revenge still burned in his mind night and day. sleep was something that he had all but forgotten. Until one day when a man stepped into his bar and introduced himself on behalf of Nakiim. That name left the bile in his throat.
His supreme intelect and fighting skills were what drew Nakiim to him. What Nakiim didn't know was that he was failed project 4554.
This was his Chance...
Jakal sat down at the nearest table, back still against the wall, and ordered another round.
A slender but well built woman walked up to him and sat down at the table.
"Thats a tall order fella." she remarked.
"Darlin' im not someone you want to get acquainted with." came the sharp answer.
"I think that that is for me to decide. Any way who are you to tell me what to do?"
"I own this bar and whoever is in here plays by my rules...Got it"
"Geez whats your story?"
"You dont even want to know!"
"Try me."
Hesatantly Jakal began his story which is unusual but something is this woman's eyes told him that is was ok.
