BazTur Discusion & Bid Thread for WC 31

The Bazalonian FA, The Bazalonian Federation of Soccer Associations(BFSA) and the Football Association of Turori(FAT) have finally announced their Bid platform for their combined bid for the 31st incarnation of the longest running and one of the most respected NationStates sporting competitions, but before we go and look at the details of the bid, let's look at Bazalonia's and Turori's history in the World Cup and associated events.

Bazalonia:

Started their entrance into the world of international soccer in World Cup 26, Bazalonia has quickly shot up through the rankings from a lowly team who lost to the Islands of Qutar in a Quarter Final, the co-hosts of the 30th World Cup. From this point Bazalonia has quickly earned the respect of many other sporting nations. The highlight of their performance where semi-finalists in the latest Cup of Harmony being defeated by the monks of The Archregimancy.

But what experience does Bazalonia have in hosting sporting events, only being here since WC 26 what could we have hosted? What experience hosting could we have? Well, the answer is more than you thought. Not has Bazalonia already hosted a major Atlantian Oceania soccer event, the 15th AOCAF. But Bazalonia also had co-hosted the Baptism of Fire with the semi-permanent cohost, at the time, Legalese. Both of those events where seen as a triumph of organisation.

Turori:

Turori first came on the international soccer scene back in WC 15, being apart of the first Baptism of Fire in the modern era of world soccer. However not only where they apart of it, they also won it. Turori has the unique position of winning the first Baptism of Fire as sanction by the World Cup committee. Add to the mix their Cup of Harmony 18 4-0 win against Bettia, Turori has been a well respected member of the soccer fraternity.

Turori has proved themselves as a World Cup host in the past. Hosting World Cup number 19 with The Belmore Family, a nation no longer involved in the world cup and combined experience of the FAT and the BFSA a great World Cup should be around the corner.

Structure

Qualifiers

The exact structure will depend on the exact number of participants but the most likely structure is a standard 15 groups of 7 or 8.

The top 30 will go through, to the proper world cup. Assuming 15 groups the top 2 of each group will go through. There may be 12 groups with third places battling for the remaining 6 qualification spots.

World Cup in Bazalonia & Turori

There will be 8 groups of 4 in the World Cup. Each of the co-hosts will travel to the other co-host to compete in the world cup so all competitors are on foreign soil.

The top 2 postions will go past the group stage and into the World Cup Knock-out stage. In which 16 teams battle to knock the other one out to get to be number one in soccer.

In addition to the World Cup final, a third place play off will occur between the losers of the semi-finals.

KPB's and RP Bonus

Both the Qualifers and the World cup proper will use the post-BoF KPB's as the basis for the rankings and when going from the Qualifiers to the World Cup, the RP-modified KPB's will be kept and not updated with the new post-qualifier KPB's

RP Bonus will be used with a combination of quantity and Quality, posting a large post will not guarantee a large RP bonus.

RP Penalty, a new idea proposed for this bid, An RP that consists of a totally unimaginative regurgitation of scores, tables or fixtures a small RP Penalty will be applied. Not that we don't want to encourage incorporating scores, tables and fixtures into RP's but please do it in a creative manner.

Scorination

Bedistan's NSFootySim v2.0.1 will be used to scorinate these matches.

Stadiums

The stadiums that will be used for the World Cup will be published here by BFSA and FAT individually showing where the World Cup games will be played.

Bazalonian Stadiums

Many Bazalonian stadiums have recently been upgraded due to the AOCAF and BOF hosting successes

Stadium 1*
TeleBaz Stadium, the nations largest and most spectactular piece of sporting archetecture in Fauxhan. A number of Bazalope Statues adorn the stadiums forecourts and facade. Stadium 2*
SeaBazalope Arena which is in the city of Cantinople boasts a total of 55,000 seats, and will be used for all group matches. Stadium 3*
Drago Soccer Field(DSF) situated in the city of Drago containing a total of 59,000 seats. The DSF is the only 'field' that is managed by the BFSA. Actually containing a fully equiped stadium around it the DSF has been a sporting institution in Bazalonia for as long as anyone can remember. DSF has recently been expanded to accomodate larger cro

Stadium 4*

Via Voleta Dome was the nations biggest stadium until TeleBaz Stadium and CBBC Dome. It is located in Pinksford and has 67,000 places for the crowd to park their behinds and watch the game. Stadium 6*
Trevton City Enclosed Field as the name suggests is in Trevton city, it contains a total of 40,000 seats and is the only stadium/arena/dome/field that is not directly controlled by the BFSA however Trevton city does a great job at making sure this field is up there with the best that this nation has to offer.

Stadium 7*
CBBC Dome in Woolgolga was constructed especially for the Baptism of Fire and was financially supported by the Allanean-based firm Cute Bunny Burgers Corp, which has CBBC markings plastered all over the walls and on the field of this stadium. In addition the Bazalonian arm of the companies security division will be responsible for security once inside any and all stadiums used during the BoF. It contains a total of 80,000 seats and is only outseated by the nations crowning glory of a stadium. The TeleBaz Stadium.
