Overview History of Eboria: Created around the first era of Helm, The three god-kings and goddess-queen saw the poor people that lived in the lands known as Renezar. The people where Chaotic and lost, warring with one another. Loosing much and gaining little. So, the gods came together and devised a way for the people to live a more productive life. And way to bring the land to its best.
The Second Era of Helm brought the rise of civility. The people where taught language, math and science. They where taught of the gods and the spirits. Soon the people of the lands came to love the gods for what they had done.
But the lone goddess, became jealous of her brothers for their love of the people and the people for their love of her brothers. Little respect was shown to the goddess, for she was the weakest of the Tribunal. Fueled by hatred and rage she soon taught man the ways of war. And new war where order and structure took place of blind killing. She taught those who where weary of the god-kings and formed her own religion and called it the Bloodmoon Council. She then used her magic to empower two humans , god-lord Vivok, and god-lord Sithil Solas.-as they are now known. With These two new gods by her side she would launch an attack on the god-kings. The gods fought one another in a great battle known as the Clash. The battle made the tiny town and villages that existed to crumble and become nothing. But the troubles of the world did not stop with that. The most power of the gods, Aedious, confronted his sister and try to bring her back to their side. But during this struggle of minds, Alexus struck her brother with a curse that drained his power and split it among the two new gods. This finished the great Clash. The world broken and black, the gods drained. The world fell into ruin.
The Third Era of Helm brought about a new wave of peace, and fear. With both religions still in control of the world, many feared wars would again fall on the skies above. And this fear was well deserved among them. For Aedious the god-king of Wargate, vowed to get revenge for his sister’s betrayal. This gave even those in the Tribunal reason to fear war. For Aedious was now known as a war god. And his civilization was built by the great warrior race known as Norwich, a race of warriors that showed promise during the Clash. In Eboria, many felt peace, but also war. With the god-king Sypher holding his place among the people he would lead his troops into battle while among them. While still a god, his power on the field of battle would be great, but with his body, he was mortal and could die along with his men. Eboria, while under the guiding eyes of Sypher saw great rise in power among the lands, new technologies brought an easier life, but also new ways to make war. No longer was war fought by men and horse but now by contraptions known as Catapults. These great machines would hurl large stones into the enemy and its infrastructure. This Era lasted for many years.
The First Era of Trial brought with it the days of knowledge. The people grew smarter and more independent. The god-kings let their people live their lives as they saw fit, up to a point. The god-kings wanted to remind those around them who would descent against their rule, how powerful the god-kings where and have been. The created the High Temple of the Tribunal Council. Massive structures that towered over all the rest. The High Temples are located in each civilization. The main temple is located in Eboria, mainly due to its surviving the Clash. Sypher and the other god-kings built each temple by hand and did so while on the land in human form. To prove to the people that they still knew what it was like to be human and knew hardship. Eboria Has lasted for three millennia. And was ready for its forth. But this would not be the case. It would enter its forth while in struggle with itself. And new power in spirit rose to power among those who no longer wanted the god-kings presents in the land. The cult was called the Church of Demimoria. Lead by a rogue man who tapped the power of the Tolaverse… Realm of the Dead. This man who gained power lost something else, his soul. He now draws his life from his followers through routine sacrifice. But with his power he now creates cities and armies which ravaged Eboria, And would continue to do so for three hundred years. When it was seen that the people could not win on their own, Sypher, came unto his people renewing their faith and making the undecided take sides and make the fight come to an end. With the last hundred years of unrest. The victors took back the city and rebuilt. The Church of Deaerdickus was outlawed and any followers found where sent to the City of the Dead. A runic city on the edge of the lands, blocked by the wall known as the Hellholder.
In the Second Era of Trial Eboria has seen the best advancement to date. Medicine, and architecture have advanced making way for the city to grow. And to this time the city and become the most powerful civilization.
Detailed Historical Accounts by the gods and people:
First Era of Helm: The coming of the gods
“Aedious, Remiel, and Alexus. Look below you. Tell me what you see?” asked Sypher the god-king of Divine Law order. For Sypher saw the blight that was man and mer. He saw their struggle with power and greed. He saw the countless wars and senseless killings that ravaged the land. And Sypher took pity.
“ I see suffering, and death. I see hardship and ignorance.” Said Aedious the god-king of strength and power. For he saw what Sypher saw. And felt pity
“ I see so much that not even I have the words to describe it.” Said AJ, god-king of weather and earth. For he also saw and showed pity.
“ I see what you all see. And we should save the from their self-destruction.” Said Alexus goddess-queen of light and dark. For she being the most compassionate made the movement that would start the beginning of recorded time.
With much talk and deliberation gods of the Tribunal decided to help the poor people that lived. And as a sign of trust unto the people the gods came down in mortal form. And spoke in every tongue. Many saw the truth in this light and listened to the teachings of the gods. For soon they learned of order and law from Sypher.
“ Listen to me my people and hear my words. If a man owns a sword. The sword belongs to him and no other. And it is wrong to take that which belongs to another. If a man is assaulted by another, the man assaulted has the blessing of the gods to defend himself at all costs. If you wish for something of someone else. Make him a fair trade or offer. And traders do not become greedy with your wares and make fair prices for them. Men honor you women. For they are delicate, and care for you. Likewise women care for your men. For they provide for your family and risk their lives to do so. And there shall be those among you who I will train to uphold these laws. And you the people shall listen to them. And guards do not abuse you power. For if you do you are no better then the beggar that you slain in anger.”
The people heard this and listened.
They learned of how to build and protect them selves from Aedious, the ways of science and math from Remeil. When they combined the two ways they learned of weapons and armor.
“The Weak do not conquer, but are instead conquered. You must learn the ways of war. Unleash your anger on your enemy. Make their fear your strength, and make your anger their weakness. Learn styles of combat, and train yourselves in endurance, and you shall prosper. Not only do you build houses to live in only, but instead build them to protect you as well. Your home is your fortress, your shield. A weak shield will not withstand a mighty blow, but a strong shield can take many,” said Aedious.
“ A strong mind can defeat even the strongest of wills. To make one self intelligent is to make one knowing of the world. Take this basket of apples. ( points to basket). If there are 6 apples and I eat one there is only 5 apples. This same way of counting can be used for everything. In weight, one knows that a brick weights 1 brick, and if you add another then you weight is 2 bricks, and if you roof can hold 80 bricks then you will know that if you add more the roof will break. Look at your world that you live in. see how it works.
( picks up a flower). This flower has the ability to help heal cuts and wounds with out infection. There are many kinds of plants that do this. You must experiment with each one and learn of it properties. So are dangerous and can kill will others can heal. Be careful in your studies. Watch animals to see if something is safe. And watch way it eats what it eats. ( makes a sand hill and pours water on the top.) . Water will always flow downhill. And never up. Never will a river flow up the mountain side, but instead it will flow down. If an apple falls from the tree. It does not fly up, but instead fall to the ground. ”
And the learned right from wrong from Alexus. In time the people became civilized and began to work as one to their goal.
“ My people see my ways. Many are lost in what is right and what is wrong. I will show and teach you what they are. And give you the ability to know the difference.” Alexus raised her hands and gave them the ability to know. And the ability was subtle and quite but noticeable. And the people knew right and wrong
After the gods taught the people they ascended to their homes in the heavens and began to talk amongst themselves. They had a sense of worth in the people. And this pleased them.
“ We have done good for these people. And they can now live full lives.” Said Sypher with a tone of pleasure, and accomplishment. For with this new wave of civilized thought and action. The world took shape.
“ Yes, they are now ready to know us more. Look even now they build altars for offering. And temples for worship. Why stop them?” Said Aedious with a tone of domination.
“ You all have to see that the people do not need gods for every need. They must learn to live on their own.” Said Remeil
“ These people are still new and unmolded to uphold what we have given them. We should watch over them to guild them, and shape them.”
“ And this is coming from the goddess who gave them the a tingle in their guts when they do something wrong. Who are you to shape anything.” Said Aedious with a sharp tone.
“ You two stop this unneeded arguing. Alexus may not be qualified to do something like that, but she presents a valid statement. The people need us to watch over them.” Interrupted Remeil
“ Yes we need to be among them to show them how thing are done. Until they know how it is done on their own. Like teaching a newborn to speak and walk. It is something that must be done in time.” Stated Sypher as he got up from his chair.
Alexus stands up in authority claiming that she is more qualified to lead the people than any of the other gods. “Aedious, you are nothing more than a warmonger, and you would teach the people to kill at whim. And Remeil, you would make them all bookworms, and make them sluggish and weak. Sypher, you would make the people drones: lifeless, caring for little else than doing work and keeping law. Father would cry if he saw how his sons have become such imbeciles.”
Aedious, furious from his sister’s remark, stood up in rage. “And I suppose you, the weakest of us, could do better than I, the eldest and most powerful of us all!”
Remeil, giggling at the boisterous statement made by Aedious says, “Power and age does not make one wise. Point in case: you. Answer me this, Aedious: the pen, or the sword?”
Aedious, who knew the answer Remeil wanted him to give, gave the exact opposite. “The sword, you library dwelling troll.”
Remeil kicks in, saying “You know the right answer, but are to afraid to admit it! You merely pelvic thrusts through the heavens, trying to show that you are almighty. True, you may be the most powerful, but you are also the most arrogant and ignorant.”
Sypher, annoyed by his sibling’s rivalry, stood up and demanded them to stop. “The heavens are loud enough without you two at each other’s throats!”
Alexus laughed, saying “Men are all the same: arrogant and shallow.”
Aedious, already furious from Remeil’s rhymes, was made even angrier by his younger sister’s comment. “So that’s the source of your power: your mouth.”
Alexus gives Aedious a deep stare, and says “You may be powerful, but you are weaker than you know…”
Remeil, to himself, said “Absolute power corrupts absolutely…” He then points it out to Aedious, saying “Your power will eventually be your undoing, for soon your power will collapse, and leave you broken.”
Aedious, whose fury had reached its max, stormed out of the room, leaving Alexus and Remeil alone in the chamber.
Alexus was curious as to why her brothers quarreled like they did, so she asked Remeil. “Why is it that you, Aedious, and Sypher continually argue?”
Remeil responded in a subtle tone. “For that’s what we do. Together, all four of us hold the balance of the world. And occasionally, those powers clash.”
This made Alexus wonder what the future might hold for the world.
Aedious was still angry with his siblings. “I am the most powerful. I am the eldest,” he said to himself, “Why do they despise me?” He walked for a few days, wondering why they disliked him so much. Having a strange feeling the answers wouldn’t come to him, he decided to look elsewhere. He vowed that for the rest of the First Era of Helm, he would spend his life as a human. He descended onto the earth, and started his new life, hoping that he would find answers soon.
With his feet on physical ground, Aedious began to build a home for himself. Vowing never to use his godlike powers for the rest of the First Era of Helm, he built it by hand. Creating tools to work with and weapons to defend himself, he finally built a house, which he furnished with real animal skins and firs. He traveled, everyday, from his home to the city, where he labored just like every other man.
Sypher and Remeil knew that what Aedious was doing was right. To truly lead a people you must have been in their position. Both Remeil and Sypher discussed among them when would be the best time to become mortal. It was then decided Sypher would go first, and then a day later, Remeil will descend. The three days in which this happened are referred to as The Three Days of the Trinity. Soon, the three gods became well learned in the ways of the mortal. Knowing their hardships and struggles, and because of this, the people soon worshipped them, even as they were mortal, granting them the names god-Kings. It was then decided that in the beginning of the Second Era of Helm, that the three god-kings would ascend back into the heavens to take their place among the stars. When that day came, the three god-kings united the people of Renezar and formed the great city, Eboria. A monument to the struggles and victories of man and gods. And so ended the first era…
The Second Era of Helm: The Betrayal
With the ascension marking the end of the First Era, the goddess Alexus heard of the holidays and celebrations, and the temples built to worship and celebrate her brothers. She learned that the people had forgotten her. Her anger, which still dwelled within her, toward Aedious and her brothers, for the popularity that they had. Her anger, which clouded her judgment, and darkened her heart. This anger gave way to vengeance. Alexus scanned the lands for people who still did not follow her brothers. It was then she found a large group, which was isolated, and did not know of the brothers.
“Those people will be my followers, and my tools in which I will destroy my brothers,” said Alexus, as she watched from the heavens, planning her rebellion. Her mind formulated and scheming. For she desired power, and power she would find.
“Alexus seems to be isolated from us. Do you think she is jealous of the love people give us?” asked Remeil, as he drank wine from his cup.
“It is possible,” replied Sypher, as he sat in his chair.
“She has always been the jealous type. I know for a fact she is jealous. Her isolation is proof that she does not desire to be around those she doesn’t like,” said Aedious, sharpening his sword.
The three gods sat quietly, contemplating as to their sister’s isolation. But none would have expected of rebellion and betrayal…
Alexus was eavesdropping on her brothers, and listening to what they said about her, and their words only fueled her anger. She vowed to show them that she was not weak, and could control her own civilization.
“Fools. All of them. They do not think that I can destroy them now? How dare they mock my name!” says Alexmandria to herself in a soft whisper. Alexus quickly walked to her chamber, and prepared for her plan.
(Yuka Mountain Range – Outer Realm)
A small village by the name of Yuka sat tucked away in the mountains, uneducated by the gods. The perfect people to control if you wish to spark rebellion…..
“ Them…. They are he ones I shall use. They shall be my weapons.” Said Alexus as she sat upon a mountain top. She wore her finest armor. A revealing. Chest plated armor cuirass which covered her breast region but left her stomach and cleavage open. In the back in was full coverage. With a white linen drape on either side of her body. Her greaves where small covering only her thighs and knees. Her boots looked more like high heels with gold plates on the shins. Her pauldron was large and connected to her cuirass. Its shape was one of a rounded triangle. The left was smaller but no as simple. It shape was form fitting to her shoulder, it then had a large projected piece that was held by glass poles. Over that it was a large ball shaped armor, then behind that was a large swirl shaped piece of armor. Alexus had the finest female armor of the heavens. And with it, her control of people would no know end.
(Inside Yuka village)
“Chieftain, our scouts have found a new land. Just beyond the mountains. They seem to be more advanced then we had first expected to find. “ reported a young scout soldier of the Yuka tribe.
"You have found the evil civilization of my brother Sypher!" exlaimed Alexus
" My Queen what would you have us do?' asked the Chieftain
" Attack at dawn!' screamed Alexus as she pointed at the door and motioned for them to leave.
The Yuka soldier marched over the mountains and decended upon the Eborian city. They where met with force form the Eborian military and the battle lasted 200 years. By the end the people of Eboria and Yuka found themselve on the verg of extinction and stopped fighting. Fields of death and rotting flesh littered the landscape for as far as the eye could see. And the Eborian city laid in ruin.
After 300 years of building and stabile lives the Eborian city has returned to its former glory....
