ooc- the RP is CLOSED!!!!!! Unless you already signed up.

At first, there was nothing. Then, two beings came into existence. They were Xirdneh, the god of the wind and the sky, and Notpalc, the god of nature. They created everything in the universe, first the other gods, than the universe itself, than the stars and other cosmic things, and finally, the Earth. There was only on continent on Earth. It still remains today. The continent is known as Romcusick, surronded by the great Ocean of Maeltehavy.

They created life and creatures, and populated the Earth with those creatures. Several races all worshipped different gods, while others worshipped all of them.

For centuries, the world existed in relative peace. There were still wars, but never an all out war of all things. The gods never fought, they were always content with each other. However, that was not to be the case.

No one knows whatcaused it, but something happened between Xirdneh and Notpalc, the two oldest and most powerful of the gods. Their feud started out as just anger, but eventually became all out hatred and war. The gods were forced to take sides.

On the side of Xirdneh were Nhguav, the mighty god of Earth, Kceb changing god opf water, Egap, kind god of light, and Sdaohr, the young god of mysticality.

On the side of Notpalc was Ruomlig, mysterious god of the cosmos, Eromkcalb, the powerful god of fire, Immoi, the grim god of darkness, and Temah, the twin brother of Sdaohr and god of metal.

Yrraum, the god of life, and Htims, the god of death, will not fight, for if they do, all things will cease to exist.

Although no one can see it on earth know, a war is about to erupt. The sides have been made, the pieces set. Who will be victorious, no one can tell.

ooc- as of this point, adventure, interect with other players, etc. I'll give out story important things to do as time goes on. Unless you already signed up, you are not eligible to RP.

Falkyrie the Warrior Princess of Kormanthor stood on the dome covering the top of Glacier Lk. Mountain. Beneath her feet lay an entire bustling city hidden inside the Mountain. For many months she had meditated to Egap, the god of light to grant her a spiritual quest. She felt she was at an impasse in her spiritual growth as a Priestess of Egap, up until now he had not answered her, but she knew he soon would.

Caput sat on the top of the highest mountain within Romcusick. He looked around and waited for an answer from his patron god, Xirdneh. He hadn't replied for days. Caput could tell that something was wrong. Something was always wrong when it rained for more than five days. He couldn't tell whether Xirdneh was mad at him or at someone else. He had been waiting for a reply for three days now. He hadn't seen his friends in a week. Caput stood up and looked into the sky. He then yelled, "THRONDOR!" An opening in a cloud appeared as a large bird cut through them. A lightning bolt flashed across the dark sky. Caput smiled as he saw his old friend's face. As the giant eagle flew by Caput lept onto his back. Caput whispered to him, "Take me to my home." The eagle voiced to him, Okay. They quickly sped towards the bottom of the mountain. When they arrived there a group of people were there waiting for him. At front was the village leader, Nur. Nur then looked at him and asked, "Did he answer you?" Caput shook his head. Caput got down from his mount's back and walked towards his home. He needed sometime to meditate about this. Throndor followed him.

Karilon stood and stretched as he woke from his nap. Noting the fire had died during the night, he pointed a hand at the firepit and muttered a few words. Instead of the intended ball of fire, a bolt of lightning struck down from the sky to revitalize the flames. He shrugged, his will had been down, though not in the manner intended. It rarely did.

After toasting some bread and slicing a chunk of cheese for his breakfast he headed further down the road. As he walked, a group of guards or bandits appeared atwart his path.
"Hold traveller, state your name, place of origin, destination and purpose." One bellowed while another held a scroll with writing on it.
"My name is Karilon, the rest ask me when I get there."
"Then you shall not pass for no Karilon is on our list."
"Perhaps you might have heard of my as The Mad Mage, Of The Twins or The Dragonblade."
"No we haven't." The man replied, "Now turn and leave."
"No thank you." He replied as he drew Tatsumasa, a long slender sword with a bluish tinge to the steel of the blade. The hand guard was in the shape of a pair of dragon wings while the hilt arched up like a dragon's neck and head.

With a slightly deranged smile, his deadly dance began as he began slaying the guards that were annoying him with an economy of motion few could match.

The sun rose steadily. As it did, two beings awoke from their rest.

"Well Fenris, you and I both know the day. Time to head back to the temple." There was no need to ask which temple. There was only one temple that Sonteri ever mentioned without naming it. The temple where it had began, at least for him, and would probably end. He knew the bargain. Service to Life and Death, in exchange for a body and skill beyond many mortals and an eternal place in paradise when his bosses told him to retire. Many would jump at the chance. Those were the ones unsuited for it. He had considered it heavily. That was why he got the job. "Let's go."

The wolf shook some dirt off his dark grey pelt then knelt to allow Sonteri to mount. The campsite, such as it was, consisted of only a fire pit with a now dead fire, plus some smooth spaces that had been used for sleeping. The wolf's was considerably larger than that of the man's, he was slightly bigger than a large warhorse. "Ready Sonteri?" It was both a thought and a growl, though the latter was unnecessary.

"Let's go." The wolf bolted, and in a second, a stream bank came up. It leapt...

...And came down in a realm of the ethereal. Spirits, recently arrived from the mortal planes, and those waiting to depart, swirled around them, but Fenris shot past them. He was part of this world, and part of the world that these spirits spent their short lives upon, but he was bound to both his master and his Lords. The two had made the jump to the Netherworld, the planes where the unborn and the dead resided, the place where souls were kept, and judgements made. Approaching a rock wall, Fenris maintained his speed, and leapt again...

...And came down on the mortal planes once more. He ran for the next two miles, before slowing down as they approached the temple. Fenris walked inside, and there Sonteri dismounted. The two moved forwards together, standing before the alter where their history had begun. The building was composed of marble, white and black marble blocks, in various patterns, but in each pattern the two colors alternated, balancing, complimenting each other. They met, but did not mix, except on the alter itself, in a single pointed pryamidal block of grey stone, a color that matched the wolf's fur. Sonteri stretched out his hands, and cut each palm on the rock. The effect was instantaneous.

The two were transported to a strange place, where smoke of varying degrees of darkness swirled about them. The only distinguishable shapes were those of two seated figures. Sonteri approached them, and bowed before the two. Fenris came up behind him, and likewise made supplication.

"Enough of the theatrics, Sonteri, we've told you enough it doesn't do anything," the voice said, soft, but audible, and musical.

"Rise and report," the other voice commanded, short and curt, but not discurteous.

"My lords," Sonteri said, standing, "there is little to say. As I am sure you both felt, I have wandered for the past year seeking out imbalances in the cycles of life and death and righting these imbalances. This has been a most quiet year, something that I find odd."

"As well you should. Good, you've been observant. we've got business for you." The curt voice again, the dark form speaking, the one on Sonteri's right.

"Htims, please," the musical voiced figure spoke, on Sonteri's left. "Allow me to fill you in. As you may be aware, changes are on the winds and in the trees, the fire does burns with new hesitation and water flows differently. The stars show mixed messages and the earth becomes unsure. The magics of the world alter and steel bends."

"Yrraum, please, forgive me, but we need to get on." Htims waited for his friend to gesture, then turned to Sonteri. "It's like this my boy. War will soon erupt between the gods. For obvious reasons, Yrraum and I shall stay out of it. Your job just got a lot tougher. You will have to balance this fight, to ensure that no side gains to high an advantage..."

"While at the same time allowing the course of life to run its path," the musical voice chimed in. "Your duty is to prevent any wholescale tipping of the balances that would result in Htims and I being forced to act against the will of existence. Tread carefully, Sonteri."

"Sounds bad. Who is against who?" the man asked. "Or does that one come soon enough?" The two gods smiled, and in an instant, Sonteri found himslef back at the temple, Fenris behind him. "Well you old dog, looks like we've got some fun to take care of." He climbed onto his mount's back, and they raced off. There was work to be done.

The gods could here the calls of their respected servants. It was hard for them to answer, for they were preparing themselves for war. Yet, they sent out a message. It was the same for all of the gods, sent to all their servants. "Go, and find others like yourself. Ones blessed with powers from the gods. For this will help you in the long run. We gods can not help you now, for there are things that we must adend to. Just know this, nothing will ever be the same. So go out, and find others ike yourself."

One of the people who heard this was Barrett. He was riding on his regor, a large horned reptile as big as a horse, but much heavier. He had been on an adventure. Now he had a new one. He headed out, ready to find others like him.

Lisan was wandering an arid wasteland, not his preferred place, but he had been hunting a party of bandits who had taken something from him, they had been dealt with though and he had been making his way back to his usual haunt, a dark forest not all that far away.

He mounted Misr (The Giant Scorpion) and pointed him the right direction, then settled himself into a comfortable position and meditated. The urgent message caught him by surprise, it had been some time since he had any important messages. He encouraged Misr to move faster and laid back, thinking about the message.

As he walked along the road, having left the unfortunates lying dead and dying, he heard Sdaohr's and Temah's voice telling him to go find other people blessed with divine favour. He chuckled as he though, Divine headaches and spoiled brats more like.

He was quite unrespectful to the gods and prior to his being blessed, had held a philosophy that as long as they didn't annoy him, he wouldn't lecture them. As it turned out, they hadn't been listening to his thoughts and now most of his 'conversations' with the two who'd chosen to bless him turned into lectures to grow up, and get in touch with reality which was odd considering he wasn't all that in touch with reality himself.

"I'm sure there will be others trying to bother me because they got bothered themselves. Lousy and lousey gods bothering people." He muttered as he continued his walk to somewhere that wasn't here.

Sonteri rode until he and Fenris came to a small village. As they neared, the two could hear screams come from within the walls. "Fenris..."

"I know, I know. Let's see what we can do." The wolf slowed considerably, and stopped at the gate. The guard on the wall looked at them with contempt.

"What do you want? Can't you see that this place is cursed? Begone and consider yourselves lucky."

"My name is Sonteri Mortriel, and I beg entrance into this community for the sake of bartering for goods to ease the travels of myself and my companion, the wolf which you see me ride. If you say that your land is cursed, then please grant me entrance, for it is my business to investigate such things and dispose of maladies that cause strife with the great wheel."

"Mortriel, eh? Never 'eard of you. Fine then, but leave the wolf outside."

"The wolf is my protector and companion, more than just a steed. I often require his assistance."

"He stays out, no bickering," the guard commanded.

I'll be fine, besides, I can jump these walls if you need me.

Fine. Sonteri dismounted, and entered through the gates, held so that the wolf would not fit through. "Alright, now, what is the problem that you seem to be having?"

"Well," said the guard, motioning for another to watch the wolf, "it's like this. About two months ago an old feller dies of heart stoppage. Nothing unnatural, or so we says. But the family isn't here, and nobody else feels like bringing in a priest to perform the burial rights for fear of not being paid when the family does show up. So we buries him after three days and think that's that. But last rise of the full moon and the people start telling about an old feller walking around at night with no place to go. then next weeks, some kid comes back and tells us that the old guy's grave is freshly turned, even though nearly a month has gone by since he's died. Now we figure he's arisen, and rightly so. He's been killing off livestock, and even hurt a few people, and been sprinkling blood like it was some sort of religious ceremony. We can't stop him without fear of desecrating ourselves now. Guy's on a rampage through the town as we speak."

"Idiots. Do you realize what the importance of a proper burial is? Of course not, you just buried a guy. Part of the rights is an intonement to Htims to be merciful. The dead man had on his soul a deed that he felt was terribly in the wrong. He needs to be placated. I'll handle this." Fenris, get in here. The wolf obliged, and soon the man of different colored eyes was able to locate the trail of the zombie. Chasing it down, Sonteri swung out for a minute to grab a promegate from a nearby stand.

When they reached the zombie, sonteri leapt off, and Fenris charged. It didn't last long. Soon the zombie was pinned under one gigantic paw, while Sonteri moved up beside him. Taking the promegate, he split it with his axe, and smeared some of the inner materials upon the undead's head. "Unto death I command you, spirit of flesh, to leave this realm and journey forth. May the mighty lord Htims be merciful in his judgement, and may your rest be peaceful and undisturbed. May past wrongs die as you do, may their essence drain away as you drift to the netherrealms, and may any shadow of your life be cast away by joy brought forth from Yrraum." As Sonteri finished, the zombie's eyes closed, and the wolf alone noted the depart of the soul.

It's done.

No, not yet. there are wounds to be healed here. And so Sonteri passed the day, attending to the sick and injured in that town, while the wolf kept watch. It was a typical day. But as Yrraum had warned, and Htims explained, changes were coming fast.

Just as Falkyrie had thought she soon recieved Egap's message to go out and find others blessed by their Gods. Along with this message she recieves a new ability to track all other avatars. Spreading her wings to fly as she as she dived off the roof of her home in Glacier Lk. Falkyrie felt free with the wind blowing through her hair and under her wings.as she power dived into the valley east of Glacier Lk pulling out of it just a few feet above the rocky fast flowing river beneath her. Looking down she could see the trout fighting to swim upstream to their spawning grounds and the bears that meant some would never make it. To either side of her, using her peripheral vision she could see the mountains rise into the morning sky as she rushed on. As she passed over the first of many small waterfalls she saw an owl bear fishing in the river below the falls. She then edged upward then began flapping her wings harder to gain the needed lift and turned southeast towards the nearest avatar.

Captain Audrey Kavlon prowled his feared ship, Devil's Deceit, as he mentally checked through a recent list of activities he needed to complete.

"Virginia, make ready for undersea passage," he called out to his second mate, a female Aquatian with long green hair and bright blue, full lips. A beautiful woman, despite her webbed fingers and toes, and the gills hidden behind her ears.

"Aye aye, Capt'n," she replied as she turned around, sounding out his orders like parrot...a loud one...that's armed to the teeth. Virginia grew up roughly, living in a stinkpot of a city, fights a common occurance. Early on, she knew how to defend herself and learned several different fighting styles. She respected few, and was second to none, except when it came to her master. In fact, part of that respect came from the fact that her captain has acted like her father after she ran away from home.

Captain Kavlon was a feared pirate, even long before he joined Kceb. Feared for his ruthlessness and his efficiency. If he wanted someone dead, they'd best be hoping for a titan as a bodyguard. The Pirate captain was medium tall, about 6'2, and was broad-shouldered and well muscled. He had surprisingly well kept blackish grey beard and grey hair on his head that was long enough to have a small ponytail on the back of his neck, neatly tied. Around his neck, he had a necklace of gold coins, which he looted off a trading vessel many years back. His outfit (http://http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f307/Blastit52/captainhookcostume.jpg) was worn and quite faded, giving his originally red uniform a greyish tint.

At his side was his prized weapon of choice, Scarlet Water, as he enjoyed calling it, for the gallons of blood he's spilt in the ocean after slicing apart those that got in his way. The sword however, is augmented. After joining with Kceb and agreeing to be a loyal follower, his ship was made stronger, faster, and given the ability to completely spring out from underwater.

His cutlass was made stronger by coral, along with his array of throwing daggers. He truly was a figure to be feared.

And now, Devil's Deciet, his powerful ship, completely sank below the surface, the dark water claming everything on board.

Captain Kavlon smiled beneath the waves as his mind drifted to this ability of his. Whenever he were to go underwater, thousands of tiny air bubbles would file by his nose, almost unnoticable with the naked eye. He did not want any gills, so was granted that gift instead. Along with the rest of his crew who waited patiently for the moment...

Victoria smiled as she walked with the gait of a woman looking for love, something she did often, but never meant to. "Capt'n, we should be arriving soon," she said, her voice only becoming sweeter under water.

"Excellent. Make sure everyone is prepared," he replied. He could feel his hot, moist air making an unstoppable wall in front of his mouth, preventing any intake of the salty sea water. Kceb provided marvelous benefits to this devoted pirate.

Soon enough, Kavlon looked up, noticing them passing a large shape above. He could feel them lift upwards, until they rose out of the waves, alongside the surprised sailors.

"Kceb has told me, that ye all been skimpin' out on him. That ye bunch of landlubbers haven't prayed to him fer good fortune. Well...now ye have to pray to me," he called out, his wicked grin cleaming as water poured from his face. Victoria patiently waited by his side, however one look in her eyes would be a clear giveaway that she was anxious for battle. Already, the catapults on his ship were ready to fire, along with the ballistae. The Jolly Roger flapped vigorously in the wind. Men and woman lined the railings of his ship, bows drawn and ready.

The tension was incredible, as the other sailors seemed much too surprised to really do anything.

"Unfortunately, for all of you...I ain't in the best of moods. Kill them all!" he barked as cheers rang out through his crew. His artillery fired, killing men on the shot. Crew members lept from one ship to the other, blades out and cutting a bloody path as Audrey casually stepped on a plank set across the two ships and pulled out his weapon. With several swift swipes, two men lay in half beside him.

Suddenly, the captain's quarter doors burst open, with the captain and his first mate waving a white paper in the air.

"To the captain Kavlon, I hereby decree that whatever this boat holds is yours. Just as long as we have permission to-"

The captain couldn't finish due to a long cutlass poking through the back of his neck.

"Yer time for bargaining is over...capt'n," Kavlon spat as he looked around. "Get yer booty, mates, an' then we head to shore!"

Again, the pirates cheered as they ran below deck, taking what they pleased.

"Captain, don't you want any treasure for yourself?" Victoria asked with a concerned look.

"Nay. Go, get yerself some of the treasure. You get anything ya want," he smiled, before slicing off the head of the first mate, before continuing to the captain's quarters and getting anything of use to him or Kceb.

After thirty minutes of loading any loot onboard Devil's Deciet, Captain Kavlon smiled as they floated away from the abandoned boat.

"Kceb, accept my offer of this new ship fer a crew worthy of it's sails," he smiled as he raised his hands. His overcoat swayed in the wind as the abandoned ship began spinning, faster and faster, until it began sinking underwater as a whirlpool formed, gulping it down like a starved child.

The crew bowed their heads, before returning to their stations. "Make way for shore. We all need somewhere ta spend all this gold!" he roared as his crew cheered for the last time before they sank underwater and made for shore...

Tane sat quietly in the most barren of deserts in the world. The sand rustling around him violently only embraced his meditative state even further. He counted and named every grain of sand within a mile radius over the last decade. This bizarre hobby kept him busy and put him at complete inner peace with himself. As new sand arrived so old sand left and his duties were never complete as is the cycle of creation.

On top of the largest dune though his eyes were closed he still could tell every individual difference of every grain that rushed passed him. Like snowflakes, no grain of sand was exactly the same, and even the most opposite of substance could be paired with each other with no choice in the matter. So is the means of living.

A gentle smile drew across his face as the sand storm passed away. Slowly openeing his soft and kind eyes he stood revealing his frail figure. Tall and thin with a dark tan complextion. The staff he travelled with adorned a pair of snakes wrapped around it, meeting at the top with their fangs holding a small emerald.

"Something is amiss in this world, my sand is out of place." He said quietly before a massive lion strolled up behind him. "Come old friend, let us observe this disturbance."

The massive beast knelt between Tane's legs hoisting him onto her back before sprinting off at amazing speeds.

Lisan and Misr had taken cover from the sand storm and after digging themselves out of a small dune of sand that had parked on top of them, Lisan found his compass was broken and he had no idea which way to go to head home.

He looked at how the sand had built up against his shelter and what direction the storm had hit him from and based his direction off that. Remounting Misr he began moving.

Not long later, he saw a man riding a massive lion, their paths would cross if both continued in this direction. As Lisan drew closer he shouted "Hail, do you have a compass i could use?", too late he saw it was another Earthi, he had avoided others since his self-imposed exile and wasn't in any mood to owe one favors.

"No, just a ride." Karilon replied as he lept up to land astride the dragon's neck and they began spiraling upward before he called down in a mocking tone, "Can you still follow?"

Barrett had found his entertainment. Whether the man would continue to dodge him, or actually fight, either way would be fun. He prayed to Ruomlig, waiting for an answer.

ooc: a lot of people (four) seem to be flying, when only one (Woosh) should have that.

Sonteri swung up onto Fenris's back as the sun approached 4 'o-clock. A single bound, and a jump, took the two over the gates and back onto the road. "It has started, my loyal friend."

I know. And shall we encounter any by choice?

"No, in fact, shield us. It is my belief that the gods of life and death would not wish their agent to become involved just yet. We keep a low profile, and if magic or divine power is used to find us, I want you to block it. we observe until the balance is unbalanced, and we clean up the mess that I know the others will make."

You have grown cynical, my young friend. But you have also grown wise. They were right to choose you, as they chose me.

"They created you as a reminder of the cycle which we uphold."

Still, it is for the same reason that they chose you. It was not chance that brought together Lumi and Nairda. the gods are in all things.

"And now those beings are at war." Nothing more needed to be said. Racing onwards, the two continued their journey in search of the events that mark the coming of divine wars.

As Falkyrie flew on towards the nearest avatar, she suddenly realizied that he or she had turned towards her. Gathering all of her strength, she increased her speed in the others direction flying on & on until she spotted a

The Devil's Deciet was docked at the nearby city of Kceb's Bay, a massive glimmering city bustling with life. Thousands of creatures swarmed the streets, trading, working, or playing...just living out their lives in the name of their god.

Not to mention the stench of rotting fish in the darker ends of the massive city...

Beryl Docks, as it's formally called, was the older part of the city, where scoundrels, pirates, and general scum lived about. Hence the more common name... Scum Central.

"Home," Kavlon sighed, a smile on his worn face. Victoria stood beside him, her face grim as memories flooded back to her.

"The sea is the only home for me," she said quietly, fidgeting as her face became one of annoyance.

"Aye, Victoria. Any sailor dreams of livin' in the seas...but it's nice ta get ta spend yer hard earned booty, right?" he chuckled as he walked down the ramp, towards the bar he always went to.

Victoria nodded and smiled as she followed, passing by several drunks as she did so, leaving a knife in the back of one, who seemed to motion towards her as she passed. "An' when do you think you'll be ready to set sail again, Capt'n?"

"I dunno, Victoria...whenever Kceb feels it be right fer me ta return," Kavlon replied as he opened the door.

Their noses were immediately bombarded by musky unbathed men and rancid meats, cheap perfumed wenches and rum...a valuable commodity.

There were minor fights taking place, just near the entrance. A big man was beating down a tall skinny man, who already sported a bloody nose and a black eye.

Yet, as the dreaded pirate captain entered the pub, several faces turned and the room fell eerily quiet.

"How come I get the feelin' that I've entered Davy Jones' Locker?" Kalvon chuckled as he began to walk around. "Continue an have yer fun, mates! We all be on shore ta have a good time, right? Then let's have a good time!" Immediately, he pulled out his dagger and tossed it into the large brutish man who was beating up the tall lanky man.

Before the lanky man could thank the captain for saving him, Kavlon picked the man up by his shirt and tossed him out the window.

He looked around, his brows furrowed as his angered began to dissolve. "Now ya gotta remember not to start a fight without me, right? Now eat, drink, an' be merry! Har har har!" he laughed sarcastically, immediately reciving nervous laughs in return.

As the bar was under control, the captain walked up to the barkeeper and ordered rum for himself and Victoria, who greedily gulped hers down.

Two wenches, both quite volumptuous, however one was much skinny than the other, made their ways towards Captain Kavlon and sat on each leg of his lap.

"My love, tell us of your recent adventures!" cooed one.

"And how you killed the whole crews single-handedly!"

Kavlon only chuckled again before squeezing each girl tightly. "Another time, my dears...I 'ave orders from Kceb himself," he replied, much to the displeasure of the girls, who immediately began to whine.

Victoria only laughed as Kavlon shooed them away, drank another glass, and parted, leaving is mark on the wall, the sign of Kceb, along with the horned head of the Leviathan.

"So...you gonna ride out on Beelzebub? Do you even want to meet any other?" Victoria asked as she walked the streets with her fatherly figure, brawling breaking out a nearby ally between drunks.

"Aye, Beelzebub will probably enjoy a good stroll...poor little dog 'asn't stretched 'is legs in ages," Kavlon replied as he walked down the beach, buildings still stretched along the sandy shores, eventually making their way underwater. The land part of the city was massive, yet the underwater area was even larger.

"As fer meetin' anyone...that's just what I'll do. I don't want ta be makin' friends with landlubbers an' ingrates, so my visits will be short...I'll be back soon," he growled.

Soon, they found themselves in a large stable, water filled up to the pirate captain's waist. As soon as the stablehands noticed him, they immediately ran to a door and opened it, a large lizard beast coming out, snapping at the stable boys before half swimming, half scurrying to it's master.

After a warm greeting from the monstrous lizard, Kavlon mounted it and smiled at Victoria.

"Go 'ave fun, darlin'. I will be back, don't worry about it," Kavlon said as he spurred Beelzebub forward, out towards the expanse of land...

They could detect my powers. We can run, and that will throw them off. The temple is hidden to all but us, as per the will of our patrons, but you and I can be tracked.

"Let's go then. If they decide to confront us, jump realms. You're the only one that can go, and the sun has yet to set and rise. I'd rather not force a confrontation."

After a moment. I'm hungry.

"You're always hungry. Fine. Let's go hunting. But you're getting your own food, you great canine glutton. I'm sick of giving you my deer." Fenris turned from the path into the forest. Already, his nose had detected at least five stags, a dozen does, three moose, and an elk for good measure. There were a couple of bears, but Fenris had a strict no predators policy. Twelve point buck, three-o'-clock. I'm going for it. Want me to save you some?

"Only the best parts. Bring it back and I'll cook it."

Fine. I must say, racing around at top speed for a couple of hours really works up the appetite.

"Your appetite is the least of our worries. You eat more than an army."

And I am capable of destroying one even on an empty stomach.

"Stop bragging." Sonteri sat back. Fenris shot past, and returned in less than ten minutes, a large stag carried in the jaws. Despite being only slightly smaller than the wolf, the animal was lifted easily, and quite dead from too vigorous a shaking. Dropping the package, Fenris backed up a few steps and settled down until the food was ready. Sonteri took the deer and srung it up, allowing the blood to drain out. Once this was done, he took his dagger and slit the gut open, allowing the viscera to fall out, landing on a flat rock. This was then placed over the growing fire, to cook for the large dog while Sonteri butchered the animal.

Sonteri moved with the efficiency and skill of a practiced huntsman. Hide was seperated from body, flesh from bone, and organs from the meat. This was done until Sonteri had several large cuts upon the rock. A rock that was licked clean. "Couldn't you have waited?"

And let it burn? No thanks. It was a little singed anyway. What'd you put on that fire?

"Wood, duh. Sometimes I wonder whether I should have asked for a giant cat instead of you."

That came close to hurting. What would you do with it anyways. Picky eaters, felines. Too delicate, even for dinner.

Sonteri merely sighed. there was no use in trying to get through with Fenris. The wolf hopeless. Best to simply sit back and wait for the meat to cook. At least then the wolf would be busy stuffing his large jaws, if such a thing could occur.
King Arthur the Great
28-07-2006, 02:47
Eventually, the meat was ready. Taking only a relatively small portion, namely, about 18 oz, Sonteri allowed Fenris the rest. Five minutes into his meal, Sonteri looked up to see Fenris poking a log into his jaws, the equivalent of a toothpick for the large wolf. "If you hadn't eaten that fast, you wouldn't have so much food lodged between your fangs."

Ah, but it diminishes the famine all the more quickly this way.

Sonteri shook his head and went back to his plate.

Sonteri chose not to dignify this with a response. Fenris took it as such. Sonteri gathered his gear up while Fenris relieved himself and put out the last embers of the fire in one action. This done, and Fenris happy now that he had left his mark, the two set off again. They had no location in mind. But they would watch and note all that would soon come to pass.

Beelzebub panted in the heat, his long lizard tongue lapping up water from a small pond.

Captain Kavlon, however, grumbled something about heat, smell, and lack of contact with others.

"Where would the others be? I have already checked several coastal cities. Would these 'others like me' be those of my own god?" he asked aloud, a pang of anger growing in him. He would show them...he would show them that he is the only one fit to be the sole deciple.

And if they weren't of his god...it would be for Kceb to decide if he killed them or not.

Kavlon stood up, his long regal captain's coat sliding off the rock he was perched on, along with the jingle of metal underneath.

"This journey may be longer than expected," he growled before taking a swig of a bottle of rum underneath his coat.

Who you serve sir is entirely your business, I only meant that Egap had
assigned me the quest of finding a group of hero's that all the Gods themselves have called to fight together in a coming war for their individual gods.
Anyway I am Falkyrie, I am glad to finally find another of the chosen. The mace, and by extension the morning star, was a weapon focused primarily on brute force. It could be used as a highly effective armament against those of equal or lesser skill and equally armed or mounted, but against those armed with a superior weapon it was slow and cumbersome.

When Barrett struck Karilon simply sidestepped the blow, knowing unless his foe was vastly stronger than he appeared, he'd be off-balance. With that in mind, he moved forward, bringing Tatsumasa up to his opponents neck, "Have you had enough. Fenris made leaves fly off branches when he got his legs working. Such an exercise was occuring now. As Sonteri rode the wolf, one hand firmly gripping his fur, his legs applying pressure around the upper parts of the wolf's sides, he began to think about who, if any, of the Avatars he could name. Only one came to mind. Kavlon, rumored to be the favorite of Kceb. While he had never met the pirate captain, he had heard of his work, mostly through friends of his father that had the ever-enjoyable task of saying the prayers for his victims.

Soon, the wolf and the rider were out of the forest, ascending the foothills that were the shoulders of an above average sized mountain range. It is obvious that Kavlon is underestimating my power. Or maybe just overconfident about his own, we will have to remedy that situation, thought Falkyrie. Barrett continued to travel. He sensed that another one like he and Karilon was here, but he saw no one. He looked, then realzed it might be someone in another dimension. He tried to enter it with his black holes, but in the end he found nothing. He waited. Eventually, someone would come out.

The next morning Falkyrie got up, got ready, ate some breakfast then went to the Portal room. " I better check the gate area before I pass through, " she thought as she activated the viewer. ' Ah, my feeling was correct, someone is waiting near my entrance. The questions are number one; why, and number two is he friend or foe. ' she thought. Moments later after buffing herself with every spell of protection she possessed she lept into the air flying in circles until she raised her speed, then she activated the portal and dived into it. As she emerged from the portal she resembled a flying blur, because her speed was so great. Immediately as she emerged she closed the portal then maneuvered and stopped behind the man and said, " Who are you and what do you want?! "

Fenris lifted his nose to the winds. They brought him all the knowledge he needed. Egap's follower is nearby. I can smell her from anywhere. Distinctively, I can smell an unbelievable amount of prissy-ness, with an extra-large helping of pride and a cauldron full of arrogance thrown in for flavor. Only Egap's followers would have such qualities. Care to meet her? I think I know who she is.

"That being?"

Falkyrie. Egap gave her wings. She basically thinks that entitles her to anything she wants for it.

"Sounds like she's the kind of mess maker that we'll have to watch out for. Ones like her, no restraint. I've known a few people like those you describe. Normally, it's not enjoyable to deal with. Unless you have some particular reason, I'd rather not deal with her. I have a thing about talking to the arrogant." Sonteri scowled. If even one additional god had somebody like this Falkyrie working for them, then Sonteri would become a very busy person. Too busy for his liking. "We keep an eye on her. And anybody she decides to travel with. Stay low, and keep us hidden. I know you can handle it."

It may require some more food...

"Shut UP! I don't want to hear it. You can jump from the realm of the living to the realm of those that aren't, so you can track this stench of 'prissy-ness' and shield us without rouble. Do you realize how much trouble you cna be?"

I was only stating...

But Sonteri had had enough of this. "Just make sure you have her scent. We travel at night. Egap is weak then, so we'll be able to move with greater ease." The two set off. they would rest on one of the secluded ridges on the mountain, and begin to trail Egap's avatar once twilight came.

Suddenly as Falkyrie finished speaking to Barrett her avatar tracing ability returned with a vision of the great wolf nearing her location. She wondered why the wolf would reenter her visions now of all times. After all she had went in search of the wolf thinking he and his humanoid companion were avatars like herself. Now she was starting to think that there part in this was much more then she had first thought. The question was were they evil or good? Did they mean to bring trouble or help in this quest? The Wolf was known to bring death to the undead and the like, so why would he feel a need to track her? She decided that she would ask Egap for wisdom concerning this Wolf and his companion.

"Landlubbers..." Kavlon muttered to himself as he gripped the handle of his cutlass. Were these some pirate hunters? Bounty Hunters?

Looking away from the coast Lisan caught a glimpse of an unsavory looking character riding a large lizard. He indicated towards the man and asked Tane; "Is he a friend of yours?"

He lifted his hand ot his face and appeared to rub the stubble that had grown while he had been travelling, if this person was a threat he didn't want to waste time having to reach for his falchion, this way it was easy enough to grab it from behind him.

They've definately got something to hide... Kavlon thought as he pulled his hat down further on his face. He pushed Beezlebub towards the others, following as far as his view would allow him.

As he did so, he slowly pulled out his cutlass, awaiting for a reason to kill them, or even a good time to strike should the feeling of senseless slaughter strike him.

" The problem is this is no normal animal, Fenris is the Hound of Balance, assigned to bear the agent of Life and Death, and to protect him and offer advice. While we may not fear him, he certainly commands a certain amount of respect. " answered Falkyrie.

Lisan nodded in response to Tane's comment and tried to keep an eye on the man through the sand storm.

He saw some movement through the haze and what looked like a flash of light off metal. Lisan tensed and drew his falchion slowly and laid it down flat in front of him on Misrs' back, easily within reach while not being openly threatening. Misr responded by flexing his claws and tail.

He cast a glance at Tane to make sure he had seen the gesture.

Crap.

"What is it?"

I think that arrogant psuedo-angel knows I could smell her.

"You mean she felt your ability to track?"

I can't track the way she does. Don't worry, my shields are up again, I had let them down when I was snifffing the winds. I could literally smell her. Egap's followers have an arrogance about them that is rivaled by none but the god himself. It's fitting, I guess, him being the god of light and all.

"What exactly do you, oh wait, I remember. The whole 'I am holier than thou' speech. What is it about sun worshippers that makes them feel like they have a right to demand information from others first?"

Your guess is better than mine. How soon till we eat?

"Like I said, we stay in the shadow of the mountains until nightfall. Egap can't see us if his big eye isn't open. Thus, we wait. We'll hunt at night. Your shielding will cover us as long as we stay out of Egap's sight." Wolf and Rider settled down to watch the skies and rest their limbs. They would leave when the sky turned purple and the sun had set.

Karilon had been watching the events happening below through the eyes of Tatsumasa. The spell was suppose to give him the ability to see that far, and so in it own way was working correctly, just not as intended. With a few words to the dragon, it swooped down so it flew past the people at a rate of speed sufficiant to catch a large amount of sand in the backdraft. The poor people with thier companions would be picking sand out of hair and crevices for days if not weeks.

As the sky above the mountains turned purple, Sonteri rose and woke Fenris. "Son's setting behind the mountains, so Egap's blind to us. Let's go."

Fenris nodded, and Sonteri mounted as the wolf picked himself up and stretched, before bounding out of the crevasse and racing down the mountain. How close will we trail Falkyrie and the avatars that she travels with?

"Close enough to be able to react when necessary, but far enough away to ensure that she isn't able to close on us. For now, we wait and watch. I don't intend to interact with the other avatars, as that will jeopardize our own duty. But where they travel, things happen, and that is where the balance is most likely to be upset. Keep your nose in the air. If any get too close, then we run."

Not going to trust them, eh?

"No, I trust them too much. They are the avatars of their gods, just as I am of mine. They would fulfill their duties in any way possible, as must I. Whether or not they serve their gods with joy and enthusiam is beyond the point. It automatically places me in a position against my duties. Our duties, you hungry beast. It is best we simply allow them to lead us to whatever trouble will come of this war."

I resent being called a beast you know. But what do you expect me to do with my time since I can't very well mate?

"What?"

Like any common bitch is going to be able carry my offspring. And don't you dare call me out on that. In my eyes, bitch is a respectful term for a comely mate. Sorry, can't spawn, so I indulge elsewhere.

"Maybe I should see if Yrraum could make somebody for you. Life would be so much easier," Sonteri said as they neared the woods. The other blessed ones were still some way off, so they continued on for a little ways, until they found a decent cave to rest in during the next day. Their remaining time was spent hunting and eating, and Sonteri polishing his sword and axe.

Lisan sighed, Just my luck, what happened to normal people?
He couldn't help but smile at the pirate's comment.

A large quantity of sand from the breee which whipped up found its way into Lisans hair and onto his clothes, which it did not penetrate, in the earlier sandstorms he had been in he had learned the error of not wearing appropriate clothes. He shook his head to try and shake some of the sand out of his hair and taking off a leather gauntlet rubbed some out of his eyes before looking around, that didn't feel like the natural breeze and Tane looked too occupied to be summoning more sand storms.
