The San Haven Sharks have decided that a first win in the league will set the up & will not embarress the nation following its past history in Tournaments throughou the world. The Virginia Nova Eagles will be gunning for a victory as well, but the Sharks need to secure this win as though it was a grand final. 'If my boys dont win this opening match, i am sure the nation will be upset & embarressment will fall over us, either way i have high hopes for them.

San Haven has never before played the VN Eagles, but the San Haven Coach believes they are just a small untalented team with to star players, but other international reports & players from other nations believe the VN Eagles will show San Haven up real badly.

The upcoming match in Ciatro North Sports Stadium early next week is bound to open some eyes no matter what happens out there on the turf. With only 5days left until the match, the Sharks are getting trained & prepared, working out their lack of talents (Offensive) & making sure that there 'game' (Defensive) is in top-shape.

"Again" Shouted Valentin Kunibert, Joints head coach "We need to be in top shape for our match next week!"

"Coach, we want a win just as bad as you, but working us to death isn't going to help anything!" Retorted Hugo Swietomierz, fullback and captain.

"Yeah, I guess your right, OK boys, hit the showers! I want to talk to you when your cleaned up Swietomierz."

"Sure thing coach."

"Aw man, look at this thing!" said winger Yuri Morgan, pointing at a large spot on his arm that had been scraped to the point that there almost wasnt any skin left .

"I told you to wear those bands, now look what happened" said halfback Micah Chip, "guess it's off the the med tent for you, you think your gonna be good for Tuesday?"

"I hope so man, this is the biggest match of my career and I don't want to be missing it." replied Morgan.

knock kncok
"Come in" came the booming voice of Kunibert

"You wanted to to talk coach?" said Swietomierz, his hair still wet from the shower.

"Yeah have a seat"

"What is it?"

"I've been trying to think what the best play would be for this situation" he handed Swietomierz a clipboard "Play 35 look's good, but that's leaves us in trouble if they come try something defensive, what do you think?"

"Why don't we take a cross from 35 and 87, it'll be balanced, and leaves our options open"

"Hmm... I like that idea, I'll draw it up tonight, good work at practice"

"Thanks coach, see you tommorow"

Yes RP is open to both teams after the results have been released. If you RP first most people will let you choose their tryscorers, penalities & injuries etc... Regular RPing in this league will see you (well you will have a very good chance) to the finals, it will help your results..

Toraquay has got nothing to loose:

These headlines have hit national newspapers throughout toraquay in the past 24 hours as Toraquay prepare to play their first-ever International Match against PopularFreedom's team - Locke Harbour Blues.

So why is it that Toraquay has nothing to loose? Toraquay has yet to gain any, any being a key word here in International Rugby...

Toraquay's offensive set-up has yet to show the world its capabilities & if it can acheieve success.

The Blues from the famous rugby nation PopularFreedom have said to been on a very bad loosing streak, although they may have exceptional talent this season. For Toraquay, a loss will not kill them, but simply begin their experience on field against International teams & show them what they will face this season.

Now the San Haven Sharks are more desperate to win a first round against the eagles. The San Haven National Women's Squad was shown up by a fairly offensive Rorysville 1-1 in a close draw. Rorysville are a team that the San Haven Sharks will have to face around round 5 in the NSRL 1.

The Sharks coach believes the recent news of the draw will motivate the sharks even more to work hard for a win & then keep on reeling more wins in.
The Match against the Virginia Nova Eagles kicks off tommorow night Ciatro North Sports Stadium with some 19,924 people already secured seats at the stadium.

Overnight, the Sharks Fullback - a key player to the defences of the Sharks suffered a cramp in his knees, but following a doctors check up, the coach said he will play against the eagles, a sure advantage to the sharks.

OCC: Your playing in the Womens World Cup as well! I should of been put in your group so i can have a crack at the famous Golf & Rugby Nation San Haven. Anyway these things happen.

The Mexican Bulls, a very deep team as far as offensive lines go will kickoff today against the Dhabin Republics in Downtown Houston at Devron Energy Stadium at a Dhabi Stadium.

The Bulls have been preparing in the last two days, even with the coach hiring a few teenage nerds to search the Dhabi Internet for anything to do with the Dhabi Team, nothing was found, but a lot of information on the nation & its great culture was found. (The Coach plans to take a vacation there after the season).

The bulls will show up in there new jerseys from a Toraquan Company. There jerseys are in the colours of white & blue (like the Bulldogs Australian NRL).

In their first came of the NSRL the Quakmybush Sharks defeated the Team Googleopolis Broncos 10-8. The team played well defensivly and offensively. The team will next face the San Haven Sharks in a battle of the Sharks. The San Haven version of the Sharks are coming off a 32-10 win over the Virgina Nova Rugby Eagles.

They have done it! After a hard, long 48 hours of speculation in the nation whether it was possible for the Sharks to win their first ever international match, the Sharks have won against the eagles a dramatic 32-10. But it was in fact the visitors (Eagles) who had control of the ball 64% of the entire match. The eagles seem to be using their wingers, the fastest wingers out in the league so far to snatch the ball & take it downfield, with the second-rowers attempting all the tries.

The San Haven Sharks took home 32 points. Andrew Carr, the shakrs halfback & captain took the sharks to 18 points after he scored 3 tries, mainly thanks to a hard-running front row. Props Clifton Johns & Ryan Walker both scored straight after the first-half break, puting the sharks at 26, after both conversions failed. A furthur 24 minutes saw another try by Jason Smith five eighth to take it to a 30 & a coversion straight head on to the posts by winger Tony Blakes secured a win even with 13 minutes left, the Eagles were only on 10 following two tries & conversion.

But even though their celbrations take place, they must limit themselves as tommorow they begin their second match against Quakmybush who also finished with a win 10-8 in a dramatic round. Quakmybush are a major threat to the sharks, because many teams know Quakmybush are very hard-hitters, with perhaps a few injuires happening tommorow.

The Experts do not know who to choose between the two sharks teams as the Sharks were tops on Offensive, but lacked defensive which the Quakmybush sharks are most likly going to use to their advantage.

After a rather inconspicuous start to the Nation States Rugby League 1 season, the Googleopolis Broncos have shot to the lead story on the back pages of papers all over the country after receiving a 30 – nil thrashing at the hands of the Ayre Eagles under the lights of a packed MoonCorp Stadium, Googleopolis last night. Stinging reviews from some of the leading sports writers of the nation’s capital have hit home to coach Wayne Bent-it. Facing a media contingent, determined to label the Broncos as ‘out of their league’ , the coach had only this to say:

“The team hasn’t pulled up well from a pounding that bad. I’m the first to admit that. But the boys showed some good fight in their first game and their were the makings of some good plays last night. Most importantly, our workhorse forwards, Tony (Christmascarol) and Shane (Webbed-Feet) played a solid defensive game, we just need to work on our cover wing defence some more.”

Facing a fired up Dahbin Republics coming of an emotional tie with Delesa United, the Broncos will be looking to perform at home.

“A win isn’t essential at this stage of the season,” Captain Darren Blockhead said today, “But it would be nice to get one under our belt in front of the home fans.”

Asked whether he fancied the teams chances of coming away with the win, Blockhead would only say that the players were pretty fired up about the loss to Ayre and that they had something to prove come game night.

EXTREME NEWS FOR EXTREME FANS!

Ealier today the Head Coach of the newly formed Delesa United Rugby Clan, Sean Louis, gave a press release to The Edge Sports News about the season so far.

"Yeah ummm. For a first season, and for picking our team so late, for the three rounds we've been in the middle of the pack. Um. I didnt expect top of the pack. Um. That last game with Dhabin Republics was a disapointment. Uh. Our teamed played hard, but fell apart near the end there. But uh... better luck next time. We need to practise and get our stratagy down and what not. Also today we are replacing #2 Bret Juarez with #17 Harry Chapman. Um. Bret has a injury that will have him out for several months. But um.. the teams hoping for a fast recovery and what not. Uh... Thanks you your time."

And a interview with forward captain Edison Rich;

"Last nights tie was a heart breaker, but i think the team has pulled away with a positive spirit. We're looking to win our next two. But i think out offence could do with some upgrades so to say. Our defence is truely strong willed and hard to get by. But I think the Dhabin Republics got the better end of the stick in that game. All i can say really is next time. Next time we'll get them. We just need a little more practice. The Marceau Blizzard has just come out of a loss, so hopefully there spirit is low and we can take advantage of that."

Delesa United Clan has remains in 5th since the start of the season.

Since their win several rounds ago, the San Haven Sharks have fallen into a deep slump with a 26-18 loss against the Joints yesterday followed by a 10-0 loss to the Giants tonight. Currently the leagues host is third last place following the so far 1 win & 3 straight losses.

Locke Harbour finally lost a game after three straight wins to the Joints, but somehow many speculate the Joints will not pose as a threat & will most likly not be in the Finals, they just had a once-off good match. But locke Harbour cannot be disappointed as they are still on top!

San Haven's next game is against a strong well at least steady Dhabin Republics who are up near the top of the ladder. The Sharks hope a win could help them get back on track & keep them out of the loosing pits....
A win against the Republics would put them half-way up well on the bottom half of half-way up which is still a fair way from the top...

Coach Keith Wright of the Locke Harbour Dragons (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/Locke_Harbour_Dragons), crosstown rugby rivals to the Locke Harbour Blues (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/Locke_Harbour_Blues), read the newspaper with a bit of relief.

The Blues had lost their second straight, this time were crushed. Apparently two of their key starters were pulled in their last match due to injury concerns. Whatever he would take the results. As it was the papers were all howling about how well the Locke Harbour Blues were doing, especially in light of the miserable result the Locke Harbour Dragons had done at the recent Rugby World Cup.

The 44-0 slaughter therefore outta shut them up he thought, at least he hoped else his job was on the line.

Coach Joseph Daniels of the Locke Harbour Blues opened his copy of the PopularFreedom Ticker at the restuarant table. On it there was the usual political nonsense about some free trade pact with some country or the other.

Then he spotted it. It was small at least, most of the story continuing on the next few pages, however still it was there, front page, 'Locke Harbour Blues crushed 44-0.'

He hated Locke Harbour North. Every time his Blues, from Locke Harbour South, did something good, not once was it on the front page of the national newspaper. His team slips up however and bam. Just sickened him. The PopularFreedom Ticker was suppose to be a national newspaper but with it being published in the north of Locke Harbour City State, and loyal to the Locke Harbour Dragons, everyone knew it was biased.

Oh well, his squad had better play well today. Glenn Connaught was back in the line up after being pulled just prior to last game due to a hurt wrist. Ricky Vanderli had a horrible game in relief and coach Daniels was seriously thinking of dumping him. He needed reliable players if a key player went down, and Vanderli was not the man. He wrestled with this thought as he finished his meal at the restaurant, paid the bill, and left.

OOC:

:) Hey, actually just continuing the Locke Harbour rivalry between the north and the south (they honestly dislike one another somewhat - I state somewhat cause compared to the rivalry between some of my club soccer teams in the nation their hatred for one another is nothing). :)

Anyhow I digress, in the last PopularFreedom Rugby League (PRL) season (ending June 2006) both Locke Harbour squads were relegated (which for the Blues was expected but for the Dragons, 2004 PRL champions, 2005 IRL champions, was a huge shock).

SEE 2006 PRL STANDINGS HERE (http://www.geocities.com/PopularFreedomTicker/2006-prl.htm)

Also, rugby for PopularFreedom (especially Locke Harbour) is like American football for the US, like baseball to Yankee fans, like hockey to Canadians, like rugby to New Zealanders, like soccer for Italians.

So unless they win they will take it hard - not that I expect to win as the Blues are the WORST team in the PRL currently anyhow, lol (they do have skill mind you as they are no Brunstone Avalanche - worst rugby team in the nation - just they are a young squad so they are gonna lose).

Do note however that especially in both teams (from Locke Harbour) current state (being relegated to tier 2 next season in the PRL), plus the Dragons not even making the playoffs in RWC7, there is a lot of negative energy on both teams so trying to relay that in my posts - sorry if it came out as being too real, as it wasn't. :)

With rugby once your league is done Aust had mentioned possibly cohosting a rugby tournament with myself. If that falls through though then will start either a rugby tournament, league, or RWC8 (RWC8 however I really want another nation to host since I hosted RWC7).

PS: Sorry if that is too long, got yapping. :) lol

Coach Daniels looked at his roster. It was set. Vanderli was gone and Fyette was to replace him, not sure when Fyette would arrive but with Connaught injured (concussion - day to day) he could not rely on Vanderli he knew that. Fyette was 38 in age and though still playing club ball in Locke Harbour South, he was basically at retirement age. However he could still get the job done in terms of passing and tackling. He was reliable, unlike Vanderli so Daniels was comfortable with his choice. Therefore he moved Stevens to flyhalf (a position Stevens was used to) and put the big guy, Atkinson, at centre. That would change his team strategy around for the next game, however he had no other option. He wanted to work with Fyette on the plays before dropping him in a game and Atkinson was probably the best centre they had (though by using him he took away his kicking and pursue game which is why he was a substitute to begin with).

He just hoped he could survive the next match without an injury as he doubted that Fyette would even arrive before the match. Either way he faxed off a copy of the updated Locke Harbour Blues roster that would take effect in the Blues' next match.

INJURIES:
10 Glenn Connaught (Fly-Half)

Strategy (+2)
The team has a lot of speed (both in the flankers and in their backs) and can be expected to kick and pursue a lot. Since their loss of Connaught however they have moved things around. With Stevens at flyhalf and the big guy Atkinson at inside centre, expect more crashing the line and less kick and pursuing from what has become the trademark of the Blues.

We quote Locke Harbour Blues (30) Vs Mexican Bulls (30) that the Mexican Bulls have finally showed spirit as they faced the number two team in the league, dispite a tie - the bulls could accept that point-wise rather than a disasterful Loss. The Bulls are in the hunt & the next few matches will set up some great rugby. The host San Haven has not had luck & are at the bottom of the ladder, but its only a short time before there best will show....

San Haven falls into an even deeper slump:

San Haven has fallen into a deeper slump after a close loss to the Mexican Bulls who were in the top 4 for several matches before the hit a small 'bump'.

The Sharks are dead last a wins worth of points away from second-last placed Dhabin Republics who will most likly be in the running for a Grand-Final due to their array of talents both on & off the turf.

The Sharks have only won twice in the 8 rounds that have taken place so far, tied once & unfortunatly lost 5 times, the only team in the league to have lost that many times.

Round 9 will see the sharks play the leading team - the ayre eagle's who have only lost twice & won 6 times, making the sharks very unconfident, although sooner or later the Sharks will have to win & against a top team would be even better...............

OCC: Even though i am on vacation for the next month & a half, i will once or twice a week spend a few minutes on here using a public libary in perth (australia) to check up on my team.

Toraquay even if they are on the bottom half of the ladder are only a few points (a wins worth) behind the dominating trio - locke Harbour, Ayre Eagles & Nova Virginia, (Marceau Blizzard is not really dominanting just 2 points ahead of me). The Ayre Eagles have Toraquay a belting 40-0, with the Toraquan Fullback being injured in his right knee, with the coach saying he may not be back until at least round 15.

The loss 40-0 against the strongest team in the league however did not bring down any confidence for Toraquay, just the Eagles had a few too many break-throughs. Toraquay will take on the Googlepolis who are in a slump as well on 28 points, & will have a 95% chance of taking away a round 9 victory.

San Haven again looses.....

San Haven lost a dramatic battle 18-0 against the dominating Ayre Eagles following their clash today. San Haven looked until the 63rd minute set to win, even though without any tries. San Haven has the ball 67% of the first half, attempting 9 tries, 2 were close, but the video ref waved it off.

The second half was a change around, with San Haven bearly handling the ball & a more defensive Ayre Eagles shut San Haven down from more possible tries & scored 3 tries & fully converted them for 18-0 in the end.

The San Haven team looked eager for a win, that they rarly see, the wingers & forwards seem to be doing a great job, but once the ayre eagles turned around, San Haven should of used better Offensive, but will look forward to a dramatic round against Quakmybush the last time, they will play them until perhaps the elimination matches.

San Haven took Quakmybush on in Round 2 only to loose 30-6 but Quakmybush has not made any improvements that show & perhaps the underdogs (San Haven) can make a win that they need & get back on track using Quakmybushs game to their advantage....

A hard-working front & second rows of the bulls were let down in the last 11 minutes of the game by the halfback after he was injured following a tackle by the Quakmybush 5/8 suffering a heavy injury to his left shoulder which will leave him out until Round 17. The bulls need to replace him with some serious talent as quick as possible as these next rounds are vital in the preparation for the elimination rounds & finals that take place after Round 24.

The Bulls coach has been known to put in young-talents into spots where talent is needed, & there is a big chance a Rookie from the bench will fulfil his role until round 17 or even share it with another bench player to prevent possible injuries against one or another.

The Bulls looked great leading 6-0 until the 13th last minute, where Quakmybush began to break-through bulls defense. Several tries mostly within a minute of each other were scored & the bulls lost the match.

Round 10 Schedule: Locke Harbour Vs Ayre Eagles

Coach Daniels looked at the schedule and smiled. Their next match would be crunch time. Number 1 vs number 2, and the PopularFreedom fans would be watching.

He smiled at the thought. The PopularFreedom fans were watching the Locke Harbour Blues. He laughed at the thought of what the Locke Harbour Dragon coach's reaction to this all must be.

Ty Fyette had finally arrived and would be in the lineup as a substitute for this match.

Interestingly enough, Ricky Vanderli, the crappy flyhalf of the Blues who had been released had now signed with the expansion Loyalty Bay Tigers of the PopularFreedom Rugby League. He thought that interesting since he had signed as a scrum-half only, not a flyhalf.

Either way he continued to focus on looking over game tapes of the Eagles, seeing if there was anything else he could add to his game plan to use against them.

The big news circulating the globe or San Haven to say is the amazing bounce back from the sharks with two wins in the last two days, defeating (San Haven (14) Vs Googlepolis (0) Googlepolis in a rather intense match & (San Haven (28) Vs Nova Virginia (4) a ill=prepared Virginia Nova.

Another win tonight against the Dhabin Republics will put them back on line & in the chasing of new top team Delesa United after they took over reign from a top Ayre Eagles who defeated Googlepolis last night 30-0 after their loss to Quakmybush 12-18.

The Bulls charge in preparation for the finals in the next 2 weeks: -
The Bulls have began a charge in order to hopefully see them through the elimination rounds & to the finals after two great wins.

Round 15 saw the bulls loose to a 'also charging' San Haven 18-30 after one of the most dramatic games this season so far for the Bulls who nearly had it until the sharks 'bite back ' to score several tries in the last 18 minutes.

Before this, the Quakmybush Sharks lost at the hands of the bulls 14-0 not really a great win, but it gained them 6 points on the ladder thanks to 3 tries & conversion in the last 27 minutes & thanks to a great defensive line for the bulls.

Round 12 was the best win this season 42-20 against Virginia Nova with two disadvantages being the Bulls 5/8 & one of the second rowers being injured, but Virginia Nova suffered a hamstring injury to one of their wingers (one of the fastest in the league besides the Toraquan Wingers)

The bulls believe a little more efforts on their offensive line will see them through to the finals which will most likly have one of the following teams as an oppenent - Ayre Eagles, Delesa United, Locke Harbour & Quakmybush, which would make the bulls loose their confidenece very fast.

San Haven looks set for a possible Grand Final after a major gain with several victories & a draw in Round 19 against Toraquay. But lets be realistic...
The San Haven Sharks need to secure a win in the elimination rounds after Round 24 to move through several rounds to the Finals.
San Haven has not has a loss for many a round thanks to a stronger offensive line with their well managed ball handling especially against Quakmybush a team that also looks for a Final Win due to their fantastic performance.

In an attempt to finally end the San Haven International Sporting Domination between the two ended in a draw 16-16. Toraquay has tried to remove a dominant San Haven since it first went to International Sport (Most notibly the NSPGA), but San Haven is a very dominant Sporting nation. With hopes they will one day end that.

In other news Toraquay lost 18-12 against Marcuea Blizzard after a dramatic match where Toraquay lost two key players (Fullback & a Front Rower) while Marcuea lost a Winger for a round with a injury to his ankle.
