The Aeropag Tribune—We don’t need another Aeropag football team to crash through the rankings!

Sports: SV Veernan, 쇼코 폭격기즈 (Syoko Poggyūggijī) to represent Cup of Harmony?
PRONTERA, CHORION—Two teams from the Capitalizt SLANI League, Sportverein Veernan and 쇼코 폭격기즈 (Syoko Poggyūggijī), are apparently representing the Cup of Harmony in the NSFA Cup and NS Champions League, respectively.
“We weren’t even informed that tournaments could participate in these competitions,” said SLANI representative Leon Brühns. “If we were, we would have been sure to enter teams to represent the TakilQuip Cup.”
One of the major issues critics have brought up regarding the controversy is that the two teams were originally intended to represent Capitalizt SLANI. “If the NSFA Cup organizers thought we were playing in the Cup of Harmony, doesn’t it stand to reason that all of Capitalizt SLANI’s teams were similarly mislabeled?” said Rudolph Nerée, manager of SV Veernan. “If the tournament was indeed allowed five teams, then we must ask—what is the Cup of Harmony’s KPB rank?”
황이수 (Hwaŋ ʼI-su), manager of 쇼코 폭격기즈 (Syoko Poggyūggijī), had a different view on the issue. “Remember how [the NSCL organizers] thought the Capitalizt teams were from New Manhattan during the sign-ups? Maybe this whole débâcle is related to that.”
The Tribune has attempted to contact the organizers of the NSCL regarding this issue, but has yet to receive a response.

Fauxhan United to face Old Quebec.

Old Quebec, from The Lowland Clans, is Fauxhan Utd's first opponent in the NSFA cup. The 2 bidees for the fifteenth AOCAF up against each other, As this is Bazalonia's first appearance in the NSFA cup we have no real idea how Fauxhan Utd will do or how out 3 2nd round teams will perform.

Either way BFSA will be keeping a close eye on the nations performance during this cup.

Crumlin where given a decent draw against Arelene Cove from Garfield the fat. Crumlin fans are not so convinced however after finishing fifth in this years Primerio Liga and selling off their best players to make ends meet. Also thir team is very young and with so much pressure goin on the shoulders of Massive people are wondering if the youngster can handle it.

"Meat pies! Get yer Alice Street specials 'ere!"

"Matchday programmes! Two groats each!"

After Bettia's 4-0 defeat to Starblaydia here in Butetown, the Dragons' fans were eager to see some quality football before the regular season started up again and they flocked to Alice Street in their tens of thousands, all decked out in their familiar green and red. Rorysville Rangers were the opponents in this first qualifying round clash, with one small corner of the ground turned into a sea of dark blue thanks to their faithful fans who made the long journey over to this southern suburb of Bettia's capital Gabalfa.

Thankfully, the Dragons were at full strength, with the goal well-marshalled by Nedalian international Hard Dans, their ever-threatening international wingers Brown and Abdullah looking to cause havoc on the flanks, and their lethal-looking front three hungry for goals.

The teams were led out onto the pitch to a cacophonous cheer from the home fans, the so-called Dragon's Roar, turning the terraces green and red with their masses of coloured confetti, urging on the players with their ever-stirring 'DRAAAAGONNS! DRAAAGONNNNS!' chant.

The fans are certainly ready for this - the big question is, are the players?

Xkora faces possible opponent

The Seleken H1SR team Sijitalatirikimidateme Xkora faces an opponent, which Kansu Minardi considers: "not invincible for us": Chisinau. While he does not want to jinx the team, he promises "an interesting match at the Estadije SX". Manager Menekilitere Dimilanakiji formulates it a bit different: "Chisinau is a good Risa-Amoran club, but I think we have a chance to compete and win if we play well. Of course there are no easy opponents in the NSFA cup, but some are easier than others."

Als to Confront Bostopians

Dorion to host first match against Port Flamerty FC

DORION - As fans of les Alouettes prepare a raucous greeting for the Bostopians, the national media, anxious to get away from the soon-to-self-destruct fiasco in cleats that has been the national side, have descended on Dorion to cover the return of the States to the NSFA.

The Als, who got their ticket punched by upsetting Sherbrooke to win the fifth-place slot in the Interleague Championship, are backed by national-team standout Petr Hunyadi in the midfield, alongside reservist Paul Chan. Far and above all these is "the Rock of the Dome" himself, Paul Chasson. This local boy made good has constantly turned down millions (most recently spurning 40 million Ounces of Marijuana a year from Moncton Sands to re-up for another two years at 22 million per annum) to stay home. The fans here have rewarded him, standing by him through thick and thin, and the candidate for "most talented keeper in the universe" has repaid them for their loyalty by dragging the Als through the playoffs and taking this small-market team to the big time.

The Als have taken full advantage of Chasson's prowess in the backfield, running out a 3-4-3 that can look more like a 3-2-5 at times, racking up the goals and letting Chasson handle the dirty work backfield. Hunyadi, the sole high-value player on the team, leads the side with 20 goals over the past season, not a bad showing at all.

Not much is known about Port Flamerty FC, but nobody's writing them off by any means. These should be a pair of excellent matches. Check your local listings for coverage.

Just minutes ago Bazalonian team Fauxhan United played host to fellow Atlantian Oceanians Old Quebec from The Lowland Clans. The match was a 2-1 win to Fauxhan United, The funny part of the situation is that The Lowland Clans was also the nation that Bazalonia was bidding against to host the 15th AOCAF. The right to host the 15th AOCAF was given to Bazalonia over the Lowland Clans.

Now in the 2nd leg the question is will Old Quebec take back some respect to The Lowland Clans when Fauxhan travel to The Lowland Clans to face Old Quebec on their home soil. The only question now can Old Quebec win on home soil and if they can they get enough to win on aggregate or will it go down to tie breakers?

This is Joanne Trentovski reporting outside of Fauxhan National, the home stadium for Fauxhan United.

Rangers Shutout?

The Rangers Failed to net a goal and start off on the wrong leg as they fall to the Butetown Dragons 2-0. Let's head on to Alice Street for the Match at hand.At the 10th minute of Play RV's Mike Sollanger Made a poor choice and took down Jason Abdullah with an elbow as they both contested for a header the Elbow would lead to Sollangers Red Card and off the Free Kick Abdullah would score putting the Dragons up 1-0.After that the Rangers were forced to tighetn up on Defense and this lead to a mucked style of play with very little offensive flow getting by either side. The Game would remain 1-0 until the 53rd minute when Gwythyr Harris found an opening and buried a shot past a diving Igor Nikitiev. The Match would end up 2-0 for the Dragons. The Next Match for these two will be at National Stadium.

FC Drops a Leg

1922 Opens up it's NSFA Cup with a draw in leg one with Tabriz Immortals. Now let's head over to University Stadium for the match. This game started off with fantastic pace as Both Teams went for the Win early but as the heat dictated some matches in Celtic's Game the Other day the Stiffling Heat wave continued and slowed down this game so much so to the point of neither team really made a big run at offense in the second half till the end when Tabriz decided enough was enough and started attacking with some vigor. But unfortunatly for Tabriz Seth MacTavish was on his game. The Match would end with a scoreless Draw.

Marceau FC got off on the wrong leg on the road to open up the NSFA cup campaign for them at the hands of Magnus Valerius's Nikeah United. The game would get underway rather wuickly with FC leading a charge and a brilliant one two combination would be stopped on a spectacular save by Albert Riviere-duPont . The One two was set up by Levasseur & Tremblay. The match would continue in an amazing fashion as both teams excahnged Chances and sharp defensive play lead to a 0-0 score at the half. The second half would continue at the amaizing pace and the feeling in the stands and on the pitch was the next goal wins. well that feeling happened at the 76th minute when Victor Gille would get a clean chance on Mark Cossile and Gille would bend the shot just under the crossbar putting the score at 1-0. FC would attempt to tie it up but with no luck the game ended 1-0 in favor of Nikeah United.

Those where the words that echoed out in the airport road stadium in the north western corner of the commonwealth. Crumlin united with a starting 11 average age being 22 definalty didnt have the experience but hte manager must believe thye have the talent but he doesnt have much choice as Crumlin lost their best two players last season.

Alot of Crumlins play goes around Massive as they play a 4-5-1 but he wast pulling his weight today. Lone striker Ian Hamilton didnt have many chances and it was captain Richard Higgenbottom that scored Crumlins only goal a long shot from outside of the box moving at high speed and swerving in the wind which was ripping off the nearby Lough. Tim Horton did well restricting the Arlene cove players from mounting any effective attacks but he could do nothing when Stephan Dougherty slipped allowing the Arlene cove striker to have a one on one situation with keeper Paul Collaviti, he scored.
Crumlin are still not out of this but have alot of work stilll to do.

Scoring scores!

Sijitalatirikimidateme Xkora means translated something like "Scoring Sijitalatirikimidateme". This is the reason, why many non-rejistanian newssources refer to the club as "Scoring". Even though the seleken do not like it, they did know that they were expected to be good hosts and so the road-signs in horizontally written alphabets (English and Spanish) showed the way to the "World Cup Stadium South-West" (since foreigners can not be expected to read seleken and normally end in some suburb with a H5SR team due to just looking at "Estadije").

The team from Risa-Aramour found the way to the stadium without problems, as did most of the fans (even though some did manage to get lost). Chisinau however did not really find the way into the game. The seleken team stood very well and neutralized every single Chisinau attack in the beginning. However the pressing of the H1SR-selekens did mean that the match was a stalemate at some times and no team had any really urgent chances. The Sijitalatirikimidatemen fans were used to that style of playing and enjoyed it, Chisinau fans however couldn't. They had even less to enjoy when the selekens had one of their seldom chances and H~senu Ijil's shot sailed over Chisinau's goalkeeper and team captain Vasile Ursu*. The score was 1:0 for the home team.

From then on, the tactics of Sijitalatirikimidateme changed. The Chisinau fans before already insulted about the System Karela of the selekens. But now eventually they saw real System Karela. From the 30th to the 90+2nd minute, the selekens defended their lead in a very karelan way. The match ended 1:0 for the selekens and gives them a good chance for the second leg.

Moldavia burns

First of all: this was just a metaphorical expression depicting the rage of the Chisinau fans (Moldavia is the unofficial name of the region around Chisinau). Sijitalatirikimidateme Xkora conceded 2 goals, which is surely a bad thing. However, on the plus side, the selekens scored 3 goals.

Itikemelara Hikijenesele had a horrible day and caused several chances for the opponent. Kansu Minardi did the only right thing: bring in Imisenejele Talakeke instead in the 36th minute instead of the disappointing defender. At this time, Chisinau was leading 2:1.

In the second half, a kiirii changed the tactic to a more takilan tactic. The defense did not concede anymore, mostly due to Ehesalakeke Dahajehejili's class. The strikers H~senu Ijil and Daran Iri~l turned the 1:2 trailing during the 2nd half into a 3:2 victory. Their constant attacks made the Chisinau defense make mistakes and these were capitalized by the seleken or at least tried to. When the score was 3:2, the seleken, like good karelans showed that Sijitalatirikimidateme kali, Xentira kalesa somehow is next to KaMaRi kali, karela kalesa. Not in the geograhical sense, but in the playing-style of the soccer teams.
System Karela
20-07-2006, 02:34
Bad cup for Defenders!

The defenders from System Karela were facing serious trouble in their NSFA matches. There is no point in participating if apparently every referee favours the less defensive team. Karela Ines was already eliminated after in 2 matches, they conceded... {CENSORED} goals. We are not allowed to say how high {CENSORED} is, but it is bigger than 2. Nearly all of these goals happened due to bad decisions of the referees. It is clear, that we must not acept this evil takil anymore and the temple should think of either stopping participation or have the matches take place in an empty stadium and flog anyone mentioning them (worse things if a non-karelan scoreline happened and is mentioned).
Clean Sheet United did concede one goal in their matches against Trams Union United, however, they became takilan in the away match as they scored 2 goals.
Spielvereinigung Verteidigung is known for being a weird club, not only because their players are mostly German. They are however not known for successes and despite advancing, put shame on our nation by conceding 2 goals in 2 matches against Cusmaniyah United FC from Hiiraan. Yes, they did advance, meaning that they did not play karelan in Extra Time but scored twice in one match.

Rangers Bounced!!!

A Lackluster performance in the First Qualifing Round of the NSFA Cup by Rangers. They were outscored 7-0 in thier two games. The Fans at National Stadium were justified in thier anger a 5-0 shutout at home is unacceptable and to the fans that threw stuff all over the field that was even worse than the Rangers performance. As always treat the Pitch and the Surroundings with class and dignaty.as for the Game Nothing good came of it.Butetown scored 18 minutes into the match and then scored again at the 25th minute. to end the half 2-0.Butetown would take the advantage even further with goals at the 62nd,76th, and 79th minutes Butetown would advance to the second round as for the Rangers they'll start up again in the RVFA season with a new motivation.

It was the Second leg of the NSFA Cup yesterday. Quakmybush was playing Louisville Unis and only needed a draw to move on. They, however took the hard road. Losing 2-0 this meant the aggragate was tied. After extra time, there was still no change. Finally, after penalties the Ruckus won 4-3. The news was not so good for Quakmybush's other league team in the Cup as they were defeated for the 2nd game in a row. They lost 3-0 to Espath FC. Their Cup is now over. The Ruckus's shecdule is not known for the next round yet.

Augustus Windsock remained behind after the final whistle. The closing minutes of the second leg were fraught, frantic, beyond belief. For the first time in history giant television screens had been brought to the rundown Harbour Road ground for Blackport's second leg tie - with a two goal lead to defend thanks to Nipper Lawrence's never-say-die attitude the entire town was hopeful of a rare success.

And despite having to defend frantically for 40 minutes with ten men, Ray Jarvis red-carded for the foul which gave the Foresters their penalty, the Dockers made it. For the first time ever they were in the second round.

Augustus had never seen anything like it in his 103 years. He had seen the Cup win, now he had seen Blackport win on the international stage, and he was happier than he had ever been. Here, in his beloved Harbour Road, rickety Main Stand, odd pigeon loft over one corner, bumpy pitch, smell of herring from the nearby docks, white paintwork with black stripes, he was at home. And he never wanted to leave.

***

The least the club thought they could do was scatter their oldest supporter's ashes over the playing surface. The day after the 2-1 aggregate win over Lylia Foresters one of the groundsmen noticed a coat with white scarf and black and white hat. He approached and realized it was Augustus, smile on his face, skin as cold as ice. They found a note scribbled on the programme. "Thank you. Thank you for everything."

Blackport came to a halt for the funeral, Augustus was a wildly popular figure. Someone once asked him whether he had any family and he smiled and said "only brothers and sisters. About 20,000 of them."

That family filled the Harbour Road ground for the memorial service. The Cup winning team was there, the returning heroes from Lylia, the mayor. The service was more a celebration and you could almost feel the presence of Augustus as the last notes of "Abide With Me" died away.

***

There's a new tradition at Blackport. Before every match the chairman puts a woolly had on the bust of Augustus Windsock at the front of the pigeon loft. Seems somehow fitting.

RUCKUS ADVANCE ON KICKS

The Revena Ruckus played one of the most exciting matches in the NSFA Cup yesterday. Here are the highlights.

The game was even in the first half, but in the 46th minute a Lousiville Unis player scored to make it 1-0. In the 78th minute the Ruckus had a player sent off. Then in the 89th minute another one sent off. The Ruckus were playing overly aggresive. A 1-0 loss would have still seen the Ruckus advance but in the 94th minute another goal for the Unis. The game then went into extra time when all hell broke loose. A unis player took a hard tackle to the Ruckus's best defender. This did not sit well with the Ruckus and a brawl ensued. 2 Unis players were sent off and 1 more Ruckus player. This left it 8-7 for the Unis. Extra time solved nothing. In the penalties the first 4 players for each team scored. But in the fifth the Ruckus's goaltender made a spectacular save. And then the 5th Ruckus shooter scored.

Nothing is known as for schedule of the Ruckus.

3 teams in second round

Crumlin united reached the second qualifying after a 4-3 agregate win over Arlene Cove. The last game the was 2-3 to Crumlin with Hu Phlick-Madick getting one of the goals and Ian Hamilton the other two. The Bedistan forward seems to be the main man and if something happens to him you could see Crumlin crashing and burning. For the next tie they have drawn League Royal Heath from Wentland.

Lisburn Distillery will also be in the next round but many of their players will be tired after a tough CoH where the Mateys sadly went out in a very tense and close group.

Crewe are also in this round after losing 5-0 in the third qualifying round of the champions league but have played very well so far and have a very good chance of reaching the NSFA cup proper but Haraki's Oror City stand in their way

With three teams in this round, hopefully one of them will make it.

Crewe and Crumlin dumped while Distillery progress

Disappointment in western provinces of the commonwealth as both Crumlin and Crewe where knocked out of the NSFA cup, the teams played well and gave it their all but sadly where out matched.
Though on the other hand some parts of Lisburn had people cheering and signing in the streets as Distillery beat RegarTadAZ Tursunzade 2 goals to one and qualified for the group stages.

Distillery where drawn in group D against some very big teams and face an uphill battle to qualify and may only be playing for a bit of pride

Sijitalatirikimidateme'Lehiju

The times, in which a team which conceded was considered a shame to the nation are over, but despite that, the Selekens did not exactly raise the reputation of the rejistanian soccer when losing 1:4 against the Qutarian team Cëre United. The website of the seleken club (sijitalatirikimidateme-xkora.esu.rj or s-xkora-dalakihi.esu.rj) was down since Hoster SiS-iL said for this day, he wanted not to be associated with the club. Why the bad performance? The problem was that the day before the match, a religious holiday was celebrated and selekens normally celebrate it by drinking and staying awake the entire night. This surely affected the performance very negatively. A source from inside the team commented: "Winning the match or ensuring that Saiyheakansa will not release his hordes upon us, we chose correctly, I think."

Karela'Xkora

The Karelans won their NSFA match against Otnorot of Hockey Canada by a close 1:0. Neither the Canadians nor the Karelans are known for their inspiring offensively soccer and so the match was not what non-karelans would describe as exciting. It appeared for most of the time, that both teams were content that the score was 0:0. Then, in the 88th minute, one of the feared Karelsn counter-attacks made the Karelans lead 1:0. Ka~nsu Kansu seemed to enjoy his goal more than karelan doctrine allows. The Karelans are now second in group F behind Tadjikistan's BDA Dushanbe.

Valdy Sends Milchamans Packing

Raging Fireballs cooled off as Faulkner grabs two goals

THE ISLANDS OF QUTAR - Good news for civilization: the States have beaten yet more Milchamans!

CF Valdemont dispatched Milchama's Raging Fireballs 3-1, spearheaded by national team member Hugh Faulkner's two goals. Teenaged phenomenon Gary Cartwright picked up the third goal.

Valdy still has three matches to go in the NSFA Group Stage, but has already raked in significant amounts of cash, and as Cartwright put it when the question was asked: "Hey, that's my bonus."

Looks like everyone's a mercenary these days.

Kansu: Hey Sy, did you see the match?
Syku: KaLi versus AFC?
Kansu: No, Veran versus Jaxim... of course I am referring to the KaLi match!
Syku: I can tell you but you will not believe it.
Kansu: that highly?
Syku: indeed...
Kansu: slani! It's all the fault of the defense. If their defens is good, their team is great and else, they lose every match. Remember the big disaster?
Syku: oh yeah... why did "Hesu" leave? this could have been avoided...
Kansu: Indeed, but Hesu insisted that he'd prefer to play for a team, which leaves its half for more than a few counter-attacks.
Syku: But well, this match was won even without him...
Kansu: I thought we lost.
Syku: KaLi has won... 4:0.
Kansu: How could this have happened?
Syku: I have no real idea... the team just kept on counter-attacking.
Kansu: Va'takil'ny in the EIKaLi?
Syku: I was there live and felt no takilization.
Kansu: You know how it feels to be takilized?
Syku: I know how it feels to be karelized and I guess it feels alike. Also, it was not that the tactics suddenly very much changed, the team just used some counters despite leading.
Kansu: insane... they could have conceded.
Syku: You still have a Hevenistic inferiority complex.
Kansu: meaning?
Syku: Foreign teams are batter just because they are foreign teams and but had the Karelan government.
Kansu: meh...
Syku: Veran* would have won against them!
Kansu: Meh. I think I am going to call in sick next match...

In the last seconds

The selekens did somehow manage to play against the team Algolia AC without getting dispatched highly, without even losing even though it was rather unexpected that the south-westerners scraped a draw against the squornshellan team. Algols took the lead very early in this match. Once the referee did not agree with the rejistanian calls that $striker was offside when TV-pictures later showed it was a close situation. This was in the 5th minute. In the 35th minute, the Squornshellan team increased the lead even more. This time, the rejistanian defense was to blame for not marking $striker well enough. In the second half, Minardi'he substituted in Ihikelenamatesekiri Sejinamahekelili instead of Hirieleseletese Asahelekimi. The midfielder, who was transferred from the lovcal rival with the name, so long that Jaortirkansa kills a kitten everytime a non-seleken tries to pronounce it performed much better. Sinimene Kanakedi was able to lower the trailing after a corner kick for the selekens caused much confusion in front of the Algol goal. When no one excepted anything to happen, the Xkora team played a total offensive in which only goalie Ehesalakeke Dahajehejili remained in the Xkora side. This hetaki was apparently so confusing for anyone who expects rejistanian teams to just sit in front of the goal, that it succeeded. H~senu Ijil was the goalscorer. The selekens now need a victory desperately if they still plan to advance into the next round.

"Oh, Hoppo Hoppo, Hoppo Hoppo Hoppo Hoppo Hopkins..."

The born and bred Heathen had played his best ever game for Royal Heath. Scoring both goals in the win at Lorshill - coupled with his brace against Sedgefield - meant that he was now the Heathens´top scorer for the season. The second will live long in the memory, as Lorshill were caught on the hop looking for an equalizer and he ran half the length of the pitch, evading two late lunges, to clinch the game.

And suddenly Royal Heath´s chances of the next phase do not look at all bad.

Distillery have started off the group stages very well drawing their first game 1-1 and their second against Hades Lavamje 3 - 1.

Joe Bellucci got one of the goals and James Curry got the other two in a very exciting game. Although Distillery have done well so far, they havent played a game away yet and the Primerio Liga has begun and their squad may be stretched

FOUR STATES SIDES STILL IN IT

NSCL, not so much, but hey, there's still money here, right?

THE ISLANDS OF QUTAR - Money will continue to flow into the coffers of four NMS sides as they advance through the NSFA.

Dropping down from the NSCL group stage like a pair of 30,000-lb. irregularly shaped lead objects are Chateauguay Unité - those bastards were league champs, and they just check out on us like that? - and the St. James Seagulls, which are probably lead by traitorous members of the BFF. Figures.

Trudging through the morass of the NSFA are the Dorion Als, which have been just hanging on since day one of this gig, and CF Valdemont. Valdy's managed to beat some Milchamans, which is always a good thing as far as we're concerned, but they're still not as good as the Patriotes, which got jobbed by the refs back in the NSCL. Again.

So what's to expect? If we knew, we'd be making millions off shady offshore betting gigs. So no dice there. For the New Montreal Presse-Journal Devoir reporting staff, I'm the angry Pats fan in the copy room.

The Heathens had an unusual message in their dressing room at the Garrison before their knockout round against Sportverein Veernan. A good luck message from Tommy Barnes. Surprising as Crowhurst`s recent dominance had seen to an end the unexpected Heathen competitiveness in recent years - at any other time they might have picked up a few trophies - but perhaps expected as Barnes in his capacity as Wentland player-coach would like to see more international experience for more Wents.

It seemed to do some good. Despite going a goal behind early on, and seeing a 2-1 lead cancelled, two late goals gave Royal Heath a 2-goal lead going into the away leg. A great chance to progress? Perhaps, but given Veernan`s ability in front of goal, nobody would put it past them to score a brace sans reply.

KaLi advances with no goal against

"Concede none - win some, this is how we succeed" these words of karelan wisdom are from the Karelan coach - and despite their utter cliche-ishness, they best describe the utterly defensive style of match, Karela Lines showed so far in the NSFA. They did not concede a goal because it was far more important for them not to concede than to score. The matches against "Sweet as a Moose" were only remarkable because they happened in the NSFA cup and not in the H1SR, where they would count as 'same procedure as every sunday'. Ka~nsu Kansu scored two times against the meese - in two matches. It was pure coincidence that the second match agianst the meese did not end 1:0 but 2:0 and by this at least on the paper made it appear unkarelan. This was the fact that the wind in Elrich came in rather furious gusts and one of these gusts of wind made a pass back to the Sweet as a Moose goalie go past him and hit the back of the net.

"...and the Heathens are SHATTERED...they were ninety seconds away from the next round and are now facing half-an-hour of extra time...the team is slumped to the ground...what a blow from Veernan...Royal Heath had defended their one goal aggregate lead for 88 minutes after that early disaster and now they look as if they are out...

"...Saint and Schinn hardly have the strength to kick off again...thirty seconds on the clock...back to Callaghan...he hefts it forward...Weston collects...tackled...Horton...OOOOHHHH!!!!! YOU BEAUTY!!!!!!

"Bob Horton has done it...the sub just hit it...35 yards out...into the top corner...now the Veernan team are on their knees because they are out and the Heathens' fairy tale continues...what a goal! What a goal!"

***

The fairy tale did indeed continue and familiar opponents in Sedgefield lay in wait. At the Garrison the Heathens pounded away at a formidable defence and withstood the breakaways. A goal in each half from Schinn and Saint respectively gave Royal Heath a cushion of 2 for the away leg - and crucially no away goals conceded.

"We're on our way...we're on our way...we're on our way, on our way, on our way..."

"How long to go now?"

"About two minutes since you last asked..."

"Which means..."

"Eighteen minutes..."

"Dang...we'll never hold on for that long..."

"Belieeeeeeeeeeve!"

"Corner...well held...DON'T THROW IT!!!"

"It's OK, they've missed..."

"How long now?"

"Seventeen minutes and thirty-eight seconds..."

"If we let one in now we'll crumble..."

"Should have scored more at home...at 2-1 we're looking shaky..."

"We should hit on the break...Goodman's not picked fast enough players..."

"Yeah, Horton's pretty plodding..."

"Dev's not got going..."

"Good job Merv's in form..."

"Another corner..."

"Merv's got it...oh, he's thrown it again...no respite..."

"But Dev's beaten his man now..."

"Goooo on..."

"Schinn's up..."

"Cross...ohh...YESSSSS!!!!!!"

"GOOOOAAAALLLLL!!!!!! THE SAINT!!!!!!!"

"YESSS!!!! YESSSSS!!!! ONE-ONE!!!!!!!!"

"Where the heck did he come from? I was watching Schinn..."

"So was the Sedgefield defence...ohh yes, ohh YESSS!!!"

"That'll do it!!! They won't score three!!!"

***

They didn't. They got one late on but the 3-2 aggregate score sent the Heathens into the last eight and a tie with Otnorot, who were on a bit of a fairy tale of their own; sneaking through the group stages on a head-to-head basis and thenceforth on away goals.

Lines roar

The most karelan team on this side of the FIFAn sea defeated the San Diego Iguanas of Bedistan by a high score. Well, for Karelan standards at least. The match had a high amount of chances for both sides (for Karelan standards at least), the match was really exiting (for Karelan standards at least). The Karelans even managed to make something very similar to an attack despite leading one or two times. Generally, this match reminded of a normal soccer match in parts, and by normal, I means, a match where one team does not play for a (glorious) 0:0 for religious reasons. Ka~nsu Kansu in some moments even reminded of something vaguely resembling a striker instead of a defender. He and "midfielder" Ijil Neiaju were the ones to score against San Diego's Iguanas. Later, a Iguanas player admitted that he was shocked that the KArelans left their half that often (for Karelan standards at least).

Sonoma Center Sun—The only paper in the nation that cares about the NSFA Cup!

Sports: Panthers slip up in first leg of NSFA quarterfinal
TADJIKISTAN—Possibly distracted by their upcoming Capitalizt Super Cup final match against Port Lusambo, the Sonoma Center Panthers did not play well in their NSFA Cup quarterfinal match against Tadjik team BDA Dushanbe, losing the match 0–2. The Panthers played strangely defensively in the first half of the match, failing to find any scoring opportunities. However, in the twenty-third minute, Panthers defender Oliver Alexander slipped on the muddy pitch, creating an opportunity that led to a 1–0 lead for Dushanbe.
In the second half, coach Randall Thacker decided to have the team play more agressively, hoping to equalize. This aggressive play led to an incident in the sixty-fourth minute, in which Ángel Díaz tripped an opponent while attempting to gain possession, earning him a yellow card and Dushanbe a penalty kick. The kick was successful, giving Dushanbe a 2–0 lead.
Late in the game, Panthers striker Alejandro Bolúfero managed to head the ball into the goal, but was called offside, although a replay clearly showed that a Dushanbe player was ahead of him. After the free kick, Dushanbe managed to keep the ball away from the Panthers, and the final whistle blew a few minutes later.
Although they lost the first leg, a three-goal win in the second leg would put the Panthers through to the semifinal. A 2–0 win would force extra time, but any other two-goal win would put Dushanbe through on away goals. The second leg will be played at Anaphase Alchemy Stadium on 108–05–29 at 21:00. Ticket prices start at 5 g Au.
Final score:
Sonoma Center Panthers 0
BDA Dushanbe 2 (23′, pen 65′)—FT

A Bridge Two Far?

It will take another miracle now for Royal Heath to progress following their 2-0 home defeat to Otnorot in the NSFA Cup quarter-final. The Heathens looked tired following their exertions in the League this year, having taken Crowhurst all the way in the title race, and were unable to bounce back after a couple of well-taken goals.

Manager Freddie Goodman is not giving up hope however. "We must go to the away leg with attack in mind," he said. "We need to score at least 2 to have a chance. Perhaps the Otnorotians will be over-confident at home and if we score early you never know what might happen."

The Blue Army is still preparing to travel in force for what will probably be the Heathens' last appearance in continental football for the season, but are still determined to enjoy themselves. "It's been a wild ride," said zine editor Otto Sump, "and we'll enjoy the crash landing."

Karelans concede and lose

Karela kalesa is a glum place now. Karela Lines did something very bad, according to SystemKarelan law, which led to them doing something bad in other terms: They conceded and so lost without a fight. They never tried to equalize the score after Tux B. Linux increased the lead by a distance-shot which made the entire Karelan defense (ie the entire team) appear dumb and clumsy. From then on, the Karelans never left their half and tried everything to prevent a higher loss. They apparently did not have the idea that they would maybe be able to equalize the score and even to turn the match if they would actually play soccer for a change. The Yellows will surely not win against Cëre United in the rematch and so they will be eliminated after the next matchday.
