I've always wanted to do an RP about the Mob, so here it goes. This takes place in New York City about ten years in the future....since the FBI has focused most of its attention to fighting Al-Qaeda after 9/11, this had led to a Mob resurgence in the United States. I'm only acceppting five Mob Families (including my own) so spots will be disappearing fast. If the game gets popular I might accept some smaller criminal organizations, but they won't be as powerful as the Families.

Family: The Jiugahela Family
Leader: Don Carmine Jiugahela
Territory: Hell's Kitchen
Interests: Rackets and businesses
Notable traits: Ruthless killers
Strength: Not that rich

The Jiugahela Family isn't that rich because of Hell's Kitchen's numerous run down and poor families-however that does not lessen their fearsome reputation in any way.

The Irish Mafia have existed for almost as long as there have been Irish immigrants to the United States, with records of their crimes supposedly dating back to the early nineteenth century. For most of the Irish Mob families, their history can be traced back to the street gangs that terrorised Ireland of the same period; in particular, the Westies of Manhattan are proud of their heritage of violence. For almost every Irish neighbourhood in the city, there is at least one family who can stake a claim to it, and more often than not, there are many.

But not on Staten Island.

For at least seven years now, Staten Island has been under the thumb of a single family, and everyone - EVERYONE - who has attempted to take a slice of the pie has found their hand cut off in short order. And why? Because the family that informally calls themselves "The Dublin Death Brigade" have accomplished two things - not only is their reputation for keeping their monopoly solid through whatever means near-unparalleled, but they have managed to win the support of the Staten Island citizens.

Crime is at an all-time low level, thanks to the protection afforded by the Death Brigade, and the district is well-known for working smoothly. However, the rumblings are the Death Brigade and their leader - the current Mayor of Staten Island, Kieran Kelly - are becoming less and less satisified with staying put on the island. It's believed that they may soon make their way onto the mainland.

Simple Information:
Family: The Kelly Family (better known as the Dublin Death Brigade, stemming from Kieran Kelly's upbringing in Dublin)
Leader: Mayor Kieran Kelly
Territory: Staten Island
Interests: Small businesses
Notable traits: Their reputation for rewarding loyalty well is strong, and they frequently expand areas slowly, ensuring that their manpower is sufficient to keep this new area defended.
Strength: Rich, but not in the monetary sense. Unlike other gangs, the Death Brigade do not save their money, but have turned their protection monies into a number of arsenals dotted around the city.

Just one thing; in the years since the focus on the Mobs has been withdrawn, certain political changes have gone within NYC, with the result that the five boroughs have more individual political power in the past. Hence, why Kieran Kelly took the time to rise to Mayor in the first place.

Family: The Masirela Family
Leader: Don Antonio Masirela
Territory: Brooklyn
Interests: Nightclubs and business
Notable traits: Blackmail and kidnapping
Strength: Quite rich with money stored up over generations

The Masirela family has been in the business a long time. The family is first mentioned in records in 1927 when they were a small protection group for the italian immigrants who felt threatened. They were big until the 1980's when the FBI started to turn their interests on the family which forced the family to go underground. They are now resurfacing to once agin reclaim their rightful place at the top.
