Alright, I have a bit of a half-baked story in mind, for those who are interested in these types of RPs. Feel free to suggest any plot ideas that you think would improve the setting...

I need in total a max of 7 RPers not including myself (4 goodguys, 3 badguys)

Here's the basic idea:

Unknown to everyone but a select few Vampires exist, and are charged by their evil master (namely, the devil) to corrupt society. Fortuanately, thanks mostly to Vampire Hunters, there are not many of them, and their numbers are dwindling. Lacking strong leadeship and facing internal chaos, the Vamps are falling apart... that is until a mysterous...being... who calls himself 'Mr. L' (my character) arrives and takes charge. Mr. L brings with him an infamous serial killer Artemus Kandy- refered to in the tabloids as 'The Kandyman' (controlled by me, unless someone else wants him) and several other baddies (open, preferably a female char in there somewhere)...

Mr. L has "orders from the big guy downstairs" and is plotting a heinously evil scheme to prevent the Messiah from ever being born, and at the same time, bringing about the reign of the anti-Christ...

On the good guys side, an aging vamp hunter (open) seeks the help of a young, impulsive yet remarkably skilled hunter in training (open) and a potent civilian psychic who has no idea of his/her powers or the existence of vampires (open) and perhaps a skeptical police detective (open).

If this sort of thing tickles your fancy, pick a character that's open and post a bio- if you have a suggestion to make the plot better, be my guest. While this RP has religious underpinings I really dont wish for it to get too much into the nitty gritty of theology... mostly because I am religious and dont want this thing to become too blasphemous. The setting is in a run down, sprawling metropolis somewhere in the USA...

Are all the baddies to be vampires?
If so, what are the powers/weaknesses of vampires?

Also, how potent/diverse are the psionic/psychic's abilities?

Good questions. Some of the badguys should be Vamps, but Kandy and Mr. L arent- so you could have a non-vampire badguy. The psychic's ability's are pretty standard- mind reading/control, telepathy, perhaps pyrokenisis. The point is that his/her powers would grow over the story, initialy (s)he would be very weak, but would discover her power overtime. Presumably with the help of the old Vamp hunter. (S)he would eventually become quite powerful

It bears mentioning, the point of this RP is the story... not winning. The goodguys will win in the end, so no godmodding. Mr L will, initially, be the most powerful character by alot- but this is only for story purposes. No one's character will be killed w/o their permission.

One aging player volunteering to be said aging vampire hunter. Ti's it okay for the aging one to be female?

Telempathy is emotion manipulation, a powerful enought TE could calm a mob or incite a crowd of peaceful people to violence.

KAG, if OA permits, maybe a baddy could also be a psionic.

A badguy could definately be a powerful psychic, all I ask is that (s)he is also a vampire.

Backstory: Okay so it was Benny that was the 'real' vampire hunter. I kept the books, did all his research, made all the phone calls, even designed a couple of his speciality weapons, but no, good little wives didn't go out and slay the big bad monsters...or at least not after they became good little wives that is. *Snort* I helped him hunt for more than a couple of years before we got married, we were hell on wheels as a team, but no, not Benny's wife. If I hadn't loved him so much I think I would have cold cocked him instead of taking up teaching ladies self defense on Tuesday nights at the Y. And running five miles every morning...well so the last year it's been walking those five miles every morning, but it's a brisk walk! And I don't need glasses, dentures, hair dye, or a girdle.

Well he's gone now, and we never had any other kids than our cats and a house full of plants. It gets lonely in the evenings and I miss him something fierce, but I'll manage, I always do.

The Vampires are stiring and there aren't too many of us any more to put the kibbosh on them, so now it's my turn, even it it is a little late.

Okay, I need a biography from both of you. KAG, the man in charge of inducting new hunters is a powerful Roman Catholic clergyman, "Cardinal DeGrasse," who will appear breifly in the beginning of the RP as an NPC. The name of the city is New Salem.

Tanara, as you're char is "in charge" of the good guys I'd like you to actually make the opening post of the RP if you don't mind. It will be a nightmare scene, starting out with a pleasant dream that will introduce your rather... eccentric... character and quickly degenerate into a hellish nightmare. When Tabby wakes up the the next morning, part of the dream will have come true and will be all over the headlines. If you have no objections to typing up the opening, say so here and I'll TG you the details. I appreciate it.

KAG, I dont want any characters to be 'daywalkers' or half vampires, if you are RPing a hunter, pls make it human. The reason for this is that in this RP, unlike in Blade, Vamps are supernatural and by nature evil- harmed by crosses and holy water ect- and the possiblity of there being a daywalker is nill.

And pls post a biography of your character here....

Even the supernatural vampires could create daywalker-offspring. They were the first vampire hunters. The specs for it are far different than those found in Blade, but Dhampirs still exist in the good-old Dracula universe with Crosses and Holy Water. I'll write up a list of powers and abilities that my char will have based on the old Polish and Slavic legends about Vampires. If you want the authentic Supernatural vampire experience, then you have to have the authentic Dhampirs that came in this universe.

Backstory: A fairly average teenage boy, trying to balance a part-time job, school work and finding a girl friend. Has lived with a background 'murmer' his entire life and has occasionally 'heard' people think things but had naturally assumed he was either imagining things or had good ears.

Has always been somewhat luckier than average in games like roulette and craps but due to a tendency to press his luck usually ends up breaking about even. He had begun to work out and has taken up Akido, Black Tiger Kung Fu and Baguazhang, though is naturally of low skill at present.

I just forgot that I dont have a name for this RP.... ideas anyone?

Name: Jason Pietrozciek (An Actual Polish Name!)
Race: Dhampir! Father was turned to a Vampire, spent one night with his widow, but was then hunted down by other Dhampirs.
Age: 17, but no longer an issue.
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 185
Occupation: Vampire Hunter in Training, student at the school run by Cardinal DeGrasse

Bio: His father was a successful businessman, but one night, he went to the grocery store, and turned up dead the next morning. Nine months and three weeks after this, a boy was born to the widow. Most thought it was either a late birth, or the wife had quickly found a new lover, but it was the best, and worst, of both. The father had become Vampire, and a group of Dhampirs hunted him down and killed him. They explained what had happened to his widow, who was heart-broken, and resolved to kill the child, but was stopped by the leader of the group.

He explained the boy's potential as a force for good. On Jason's eighth birthday, this man returned, and told him the story of his birth, and what he could do as a Dhampir. He gave a farewell to his mother, and was taken to New Salem, to the school of Vampire Hunters run by Cardinal DeGrasse. He became a skilled, but unguided fighter, stronger and faster than most could comprehend. The blood urge is slightly strong in him, but is suppressed by weekly Communion, though he only needs to drink monthly to maintain himself. He still hates overcooked meat with a passion. ready to become an Apprentice Hunter, as he has come of age.

O.K. here's a list of Dhampiric powers, slightly modified for the RP:

Increased Strength, Speed and reflexes, just under that of a vampire.
Increased immunities, especially against psioic attacks. Not a psionic in own right.
Healing, very high.
Can touch crosses, go sun-bathing, eat garlic, but does not die from wounds to the gut, bullets not as effective, etc. Decapitation and other such instant deaths still a go.
Ability to sense spirits and vampires around him/her.

Dhampirs can not:
Raise corpses as puppets.
Unleash necromantic or dark magic.
Regenerate immediately. They require sleep.
As stated above, use any type of psionic attack. Just ressistant/immune, strength dependant.
Become priests. Cooky, but true.
Live forever. Age will claim them.
Become a Vampire. Blood is too similar, and too different.

That's about it. Also, while a Dhampir has few ways to die, the abilities that s/he has develop with age, but at a rate of five years to a vampire's one hundred. They age, but slowly.

St. Croix is a rather cynical middle-aged bounty hunter who has a disturbing knack for locating people. Unfortunately, his quick trigger finger and unwavering eye, coupled with his extreme allergy to bullshit, usually brings in more 'dead' contracts than 'live' ones. Because of this, St. Croix is often at a loss for funding, and rarely turns down a contract. He has no qualms about working outside the law, for criminal elements or otherwise. Having already spent some eight plus years in a federal prison for manslaughter, St. Croix still maintains contact with numerous criminal informants and law enforcement contacts to form an extensive network of information transfer.

Quite simply, if you need someone found, contact St. Croix...
