OK im making a rp about pirates in the gulf coast during their golden age (1600's-early 1800's) the date will be set at 1700 you'll have the largest access to many avaliable ship types. im only accepting 6people not including me( i will be the GM sorta guy so when u attack ships and raid towns u cant cheat and say they quickly gave up) u could be a swash buckling man or a commander for her majesties trade navy you could be any thing in that time period the starting ships though ill name off each person gets one of these ships and when all the ship you want is gone then im sorry but you'll have to choose another one. each ship has a class and each class specializes in one thing here is the list. When it starts ill send the sign ups a full list of ships.

Ship type / Class

TARTAN(Manuverablity) - Fast Weak but can easily out maneuver any of the larger ships Carrys a max crew of 40 men. you may apply the 30 oars she carries to move faster she has 4 cannons 2 on each side 100 tons

SLOOP(Speed) - Looks like todays modern sailing yacht it was slightly bigger it was manned by about a crew of 40 again it had no oars but it had 6 guns 3 per side it was faster but a little less maneuverable 100 tons

SCHOONER(Speed) - A bit bigger than the sloop it was a little slower but could take more damage it had a front sail wich could be applied to make it go faster Had a crew of 50-60 Manned 6 cannons
100tons

BRIGANTINE(Power) - Named brigantine because it was found sailing in the Mediterranean by pirates and was named by Italians for brigand ship. Manned almost 100 crew had 4-24 guns per side Choice of pirates in need of killing power. 400 tons

SHEBEC (health) - The Shebec was favored among Barbary pirates for she was fast, stable and large. They could reach 200 tons and carried from 4 to 24 cannon. In addition she carried from 60 to 200 crewmen. The Shebec had a pronounced overhanging bow and stern, and three masts which were generally lateen-rigged. In addition to sails she was rowed. 200 tons

GALIOT (all around good) - The Galiot was long, and sleek with a flush deck. She carried anywhere from 2 to 10 small cannon. She was powered by oar and carried from 50 to 130 men. The Galiot was used by Barbary and Corsair pirates. 150tons

BARQUE (All around good) - Before the 1700's the name was applied to any small vessel. Later it applied to a small ship having three masts. The first two being square-rigged, and the third ( aft mast ) being fore-and-aft rigged. Fast ship with shallow draft. Favorite of Caribbean pirates. Crew around max. of 90. 150tons

Food - 1unit 1month for one hundred men each unit ways 1 ton
Ammo - 1 unit 100 shots for 10 cannons each bought for 1200 gold unit ways2 tons
Rum - 1unit +30% happiness rating from crew each bought for 100gold unit ways1 ton
Wood - 1 unit repairs ship 2units traded for 100gold bought for 100gold each unit ways 1 ton
Live stock - 2units traded for 200 gold each unit bought for 115 gold each unit ways 3tons
Jewels - 1 unit worth 1500 gold cannot be bought must be stolen from trader ships.
Gold - 100units ways 1 ton used to buy stuff

Weapons
Small cannons - 400 gold each range of 75 yards can only fire normal shot shot ways 5tons Starting cannons
Medium cannons - 600 gold range of 150 yards cannot fire chain shot or double shot when firing at more than 75 yards cannot fire double shot at range longer than 50 yards. ways 7tons
Large cannons - 1000 gold range of a whopping 200 yards cannot fire any type of shot but normal or light shot at that range. Is the only one that can fire bombs/grenades onto enemy decks fires at a range of 150 yards. Can fire heated shot at 150 yards Ways a massive 15tons.
Bombard cannon - cost 1000 gold used to fire into towns during a raid. not very uesfull against ships weighs less than 2tons
Rifle - 20gold apiece used for shooting during raids used by marines and gunners can shoot people on a ships decks before and during a boarding.
Pistol - 10 gold apiece used during a boarding use full for a quick fight
Grenades - 30gold apiece used during a raid or boarding blows up in fragmentations has a killing radius of 5 feet hits your own crew members and the enemies.
Field dressings - 15 gold a piece heals wounded crew members each unit heals one member
bow and arrow - 5gold for bow 5 gold for 15 arrows used for shooting enemy sails with flaming arrows great for fighting a fleet of enemy ships and catching them a flame
Cuttless - 40 gold used during a boarding and a raid
Saber - 50 gold more reliable than the cuttless

Crew
Sailor - 20 gold per person your beginning ones are free must have at least 10
Navigational Officer - 100 gold needed to move ship from port to port and the like
Marine - 20 gold per person your beginning ones are free must have at least 10
Gunner - 20 gold per person your beginning ones are free must have at least 10
Doctor - 20 gold per person your beginning ones are free must have at least 1
Cook - 20 gold per person your beginning ones are free must have at least 1
Boatswain - 20 gold per person your beginning ones are free must have at least 1 keeps ship in shape
Master gunner - 50 gold per person your beginning ones are free must have at least 1 fires wepons with ease
Quarter master - 50 gold per person your beginning ones are free keeps living areas in shape
Carpenter - 50 gold per person your beginning ones are free must have at least 1 Repairs ship
Officer - 100-150 gold per person your beginning one are free must have at least 1 is good at command during raids and boarding
Mates - weak in every thing are trained to be Gunners, Marines, Carpenters, Quarter masters, Doctor, Cook, Sailor, Boatswain, and Navigational officer

Ship cargo: 20 units food, 5units ammo, 20units rum, 5units livestock = 65 tons

Ships guns: 5 Starboard Cannons 5 Port cannons 2 Aft cannons 2 For cannons = 70 tons

Starting port: A small town on the Texas coast

Back story: When George was a kid Texas Still a Mexican province and when he was ten he saw a ship get over thrown by a bunch of pirate just out side the town. when he was 20 he decided he wanted to become a pirate and so he went to the tavern to be enlisted as a mate. when he got enlisted by a captain of a small pirate fleet he slowly rose thru the ranks and when he was thirty the captain gave him one of his ships and some of his crew to go out start a pirate life of his own.

Give it a chance, quite a few of the users seem to use EST time and they will log on pretty soon, tends to pick up a bit soon. I'm not that interested personally, but some people might be.

We went through this with your last thread. NS is not a random RP-forum, it's for RP related to nationstates nations or at very least NS-ified versions of real ones. Straight real-world history-RP doesn't cut it, I'm afraid.
