This morning I read an article in the Idaho Statesmen about how Sen. Larry Craig (R) got heckled at a town meeting after declaring his support for a guest worker program. To me, this is a non-issue. The point is, these people are ILLEGAL immigrants. If we want them to work for us, then we should give them citizenship, and if we don't, we should get rid of them. None of this half-ass nonsense. Now, if you want to change the law and allow anyone into the US, that's a different issue altogether. Anyway, to me, the real culprits are the companies that hire these people. The main reason people come to the US is because of the job opportunities. If we don't want Mexicans, or any other group of poeple for that matter, to cross the border, we should condemn those who give them the insentive to do so.
