As you may know, I used to run – a some years ago, in 2004 I think - a sort of huge convention thingy, known as AllaneaCon. I wasn’t as good a role-player then as I am now. Some people say I sucked. Some people even say I suck now. But regardless, I have stopped doing AllaneaCons for a while, because of the One Day War, Allanea getting generally PWNed, and so forth.

But that’s long in the past, and today I finally decided to revive AllaneaCon.

What is the AllaneaCon? – you ask? Well, the convention is a multipurpose gamer/geek convention, with events dedicated to anime, roleplaying, modeling, wargaming, Star Trek, furryism (furryness?), military re-enactors, DDR, gaming (for example, there will be a CounterStrike event, and such), and so on, and so forth.

Why? – well, Allanea has geeks, loves geeks, and they constitute a large proportion (possibly the majority) of the nation’s population. In fact, the complex psychological tests that one takes before receiving citizenship in the United States of Allanea are basically tests on the psychological profile that makes one a geek. So, this is essentially a pro-tourism, pro-immigration drive the by the governor of Merkaz, the mayor of Liberty-City, and the INS, which will in fact be recruiting at the convention.

However, bear in mind I do not intend this to be a mere party thread. I believe in having the thread have a plot. So, sign up with a character – and telegram me with whatever ideas you have for him.

Perhaps he/she meets an Allanean and they fall in love, despite the differences of their culture?

Perhaps he/she is a spy from another country?

Perhaps he/she is a performer, a dealer in gaming material, or a fan coming to greet an Allanean ‘celebrity’ (one who is a celebrity only to members of $obscure_hobby. “Oh my God! Are you Lumpen Ratchovsky? The guy who starred in “Cockroaches in a Gaming Club?” YOU ARE SO COOL!!”

Perhaps he’s a reporter come to cover the Allaneans and their insane wacky crazy culture?

Name: Kyle Rigdale
Type of Geek: Comic book geek
Age: 25
Purpose in Attending: To participate in a seminar on what the advent of the multiverse means for superhero comics, i.e. what it means to have a fictional setting where people with superpowers participate in theatrical battles of good against evil in a world where there really are beings with that kind of power.
Plot Ideas: I'd kind of like him to be in a situation where he might have to sacrifice or risk something to help someone else, to give him a different perspective on heroism.

Name: Ishimaru Shun
Age: 17
Purpose In Life: None
Purpose In Attending: To promote a growing Pschycotian racing sport known as the IGPX (Immortal Grande Prix) to the international world (and the GPE).
On Display: His racing mech.
Plot Ideas: Well, promotion of the sport (duh)....and the usual running from crazed female fans always adds comic humor with kiosk interaction for hiding places.

Name: Bogumil Lunyov
Age: 23

Background: Bogumil is the son of an owner of a Valerian mining company based in the Northern Reaches of the Grand Empire. While he grew up in an isolated area of the world, he has learned much thanks to his travels with his uncle, a retired Valerian explorer. When he came across a gaming convention in the Khanate of Kalmykstan (just north of the Grand Empire of Magnus Valerius), he found a new hobby which he devoted himself to. He now is a top-notch Counter-Strike and RTS player. He doesn't look as if he were a geek, though, considering that he is also athletic.

Purpose In Life: Undecided, but likely going to inherit the family mining company.

Purpose In Attending: Bogumil wants to participate in the gaming events, especially in CS. Of course, he is ready to play any RTS matches (if there will be events with any RTS games). Bogumil also wanted to visit Allanea and its convention just to get a taste of how things are in a distant realm.

Plot Ideas: I would like Bogumil to find the love of his life here, since he is single. It would also be good if he could find another purpose in life other than becoming the next owner of his father's mining company. Finally, Counter-Strike! Hehehe...

Purpose In Life: Undecided yet(likely something with computers)
Purpose In Attending: Geeket, does she need another reason? If so, D&D, web-comics, computers, anime ect.
Plot Ideas: Her family sends someone to drag her back and get her to behave like a lady of society.
She meets someone/falls in love.
She beats a reigning champ at a game and want's revenge.
Ect.

Purpose in Attending: Reigning Bazalonian Counter-Strike champ, to represent Bazalonia in the competition
Purpose in Life: Despite enjoying what he does, his professional gaming, he has a whole inside and he does not know how to fill it yet.

Name: Peter Hobble
Ages 29
Purpose in Attending: Peter Hobble is a Bazalonian soccer superstar, though unbeknownest to most he is also a geek and enjoys playing DDR. But he's also here just to browse and generally have a good time.
