Should we do it without KN? Who should host? What should we call it, anyway?

This isn't a signup thread. We might have one later if we decide to go ahead and hold one.

Your input welcome. My opinions will come later.

As the person with perhaps the most reason to want the Cherry Cup back (if only to lord my five victories over the rest of you) it just wouldn't be the same.

Do it, but call it something else.

And as the person with the second-most reason to want the Cherry Cup back - to erase the forgetting we entered of the previous - there's no reason not having KN should stop us holding a Cherry Cup.

It feels good to be voting MOOSE! again. :D

I think we should definitely revive the Cherry Cup, under a new name, if for no other reason than that Star should be allowed to keep winning and I should be allowed to keep losing.

Does anyone still have records of the last known rankings?

Besides, if we did call it the Cherry Cup, how would we award the Cherry Cup to the winner, since I'm quite sure Susan Aglukark would have demanded that it be burried with her upon her demise.

:p Heh, the Barry Melrose cup anyone? We could shave his mullet, seal it in the trophy, and award that to the winner like the Ashes.

Well, while I'm all in favor of honoring KN's legacy of hockey, it would also be nice to provide a continuation with Cherry Cups I - XVIII. Maybe XIX could be the 'Susan Aglukark Memorial Awarding of the Don Cherry Cup' or something. or give it a hyphen..."The Cherry-Aglukark Cup"

Or we could hand out an 'Aglukark Cup' to the team displaying the poorest sportsmanship :P

Ok, so it seems we'll have some fairly decent support if we restart the Cup Formerly Known as Cherry. (just watch, no one's gonna come up with a name and that'll stick). Now, we're gonna need a host or hosts for the triumphant return.

Well we could follow the precedent set by the World Cup and have former hosts vote on the new host.

I'll see if I can find a list of former hosts on the wiki.
