Well, its starting to get towards that time again, for the Imitora Players Run. This year's run (IPR 2k6) will be held in standard rally style (last year's run was an all out sprint from cops) on open roads and in cities, with check points, stop overs, and the like. Currently, I have three confirmed players, Tanara, Gnufasur, and Andossa Se Mitrin Vega. I just need one more racer.

You'll be allowed to enter as many characters as you like, but be able to keep up with whats going on with all of them. I expect a general understanding of grammer and spelling, but you don't have to be a damn dictionary, close enough will do on hard words.

In the cities, you'll have to keep a generally low profile. Imitora has an insane night life, but no walking around with guns hanging out (concealed carry is ok), or stuff like that. Act normal. On the open highways, anything goes. Drive hard, drive fast, just don't crash.

Car's have to be realistic. I know damned well Buggatti has a 250mph+, 1000whp, 1000ftlbs tq car. I also know that it is fairly easy to get some cars up to those levels. I have no problem with that. Hell, my main character will be in a 1000hp BMW M3. But if you are gonna do it, try to keep it real. If you don't know anything about cars, then ask, most people that are going to participate (myself and Andossa (I assume)) know a bit, enough to get you just about any car you would want. I don't want jet cars, I don't want flying cars, or hover cars, or cars with plasma powered engines or any of that shit. I want straight up, gas powered cars that go. I have no problem with high speeds and high power cars, just be able to back it up with real worl numbers and info.

Else wise, just about anything goes. If you have any questions, ask away, I'll be more than willing to help. For those already in, feel free to post character info and car info now, and lets try to work out some good ideas for 'drama' in the story. As the last line of the National Anthem says, "Gentlemen, START YOUR ENGINES!"

Why not?

Will my entry from last time (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=9555422&postcount=9) work? If you want a different driver I can come up with one easy, but playing the same characters could be fun...

That works, looks like this is all closed up then. Go ahead and start posting info everyone, I'll have my characters and cars up shortly. I do believe that HotRodia also knows his/her way around cars, so, go ahead and post any questions.

Not nearly as well as you do. Sadly other aspects of my life have prevented me from becoming the car guru I wanted to be.

And I'm male, just for future pronoun use. ;)

Charli Firewalker (http://www.atddm.com/charli3a.jpg)

Ht: 5' 11"
Wt: 155
Hair: Bright Auburn, worn to shoulder blades
Eyes: Emerald Green
Age : 29

Publicly there is very little known about Charli Firewalker. She has passsports from several different countries. Speaks a number of languages fluently, and has a thorough if electic education. She has both passenger and CD liscensing, and has a multi engine fixed wing pilots liscense as well as a rotary liscense. She has made a living in the past as a hotshot/smoke jumper, paramedic and firefighter.

if you get her trust and can get her to talk...
Not all that long ago there was a little girl named Charlene, who lived happily with her mother and father. But the bad men came and killed her mother. Charlie ( as every one called her ) and her father ran, but got caught by the bad men. They tried to make her think they were her friends, but her father told her the truth. And so Charlie left.

She managed to hide so perfectly that they never, ever, found her. The Shop searched, oh how they hunted for her, but they never succeeded, even after she got her story published in the Rolling Stone.
How do I know? She was my mother, and I'm a Charli too...

Only more so... ...** there is classified information known only to GM and player at this time

Vehicle: AMX/3 (http://www.atddm.com/x38.jpg) -full side view (http://www.atddm.com/34a.jpg) & angled view (http://www.atddm.com/31a.jpg)

However her car is done in black with no 'bright work/ chrome' and like all of the other remaining AMX/3's there is no badging.
http://www.atddm.com/x38a.jpg

· 401 engine **
· A custom made OTO Melara five-speed manual gearbox was used
· Vacuum actuated headlamps Power steering
· 4-wheel power disc brakes (hydraulic assist from the power steering pump)
· Teague designed T-window double pane glass between cockpit and engine compartment
· 4-wheel independent suspension: single coil-over shock unequal length A-arm up front and dual coil-over shock trailing arm/A-arm in the rear
· rear pop- up spoiler
· Leather interior
· Retractable wipers.

one of seven known to be in existance, this particular one is believed to be the "BMW AMX" that was tested by BMW and Turin Polytech. BMW proclaimed the body assembly (a boxed sill backbone structure) one of the most rigid structures that they had ever tested. Speed runs were limited to 160 M.P.H. due to body lifting because of the lack of a front spoiler, which was later added. Test runs later gave speds at 200 mph plus. Cooling modifications were made in 1970. Cast magnesium wheels by Campagnolo and four-wheel disc vented brakes by the German company Ate.
Designers: Giotto Bizzarrini & Dick Teague

More rata is available if needed...

and when I found out about the ill fated AMX 3's I couldn't resist 'snagging' so to speak the one that no one knows where it disappeared to.

WOW both of those cars look great!

warning: in Imitora the cops will chase ya no matter who you are and they have no problems playing dirty - but then again neither do the racers. It's become almost traditional that they end up having to bust some one out of jail. And be sure to get your pre oder in for the resulting videos. The guys who shoot those videos are just as wild as the drivers.

Mercy may be there to pick up the 'one off' that Black Owl is building for her but she won't be racing....I don't think.

Driver Name: Argenti Loraba
Driver Age: 30
Driver Bio:
Argenti Loraba is one of the more accomplished HotRodian drivers, having participated in hundreds of races of varying types over her twelve-year career. Born in Showroomtown, HotRodia, Loraba first became interested in automotive matters when she saw a THR Matador cruising down Grande Beaulevard in her hometown. From the age of ten until she was sixteen years old, Loraba helped her mother in the family auto-body shop; performing simple repairs at first and eventually gaining sufficient expertise to build a car of her own, which she did at seventeen and then began racing it. She has the highest amount of overall wins among GT class drivers in the HotRodia Racing League, and sports trophies from many other events. She has lately become interested in rally racing, and has participated in a number of international events of that nature, including the Imitora Player's Run 2k5 (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=442484).

Tan is right, the videos are insane. Basically take the Mischeif series, mix it up with the IMV films stuff, toss in a bit of KCSR, and your getting marginally close to the level of filming done for this race. But then again, as Super Streebike editor Mike Seate says, somtimes the best rides are the ones we don't get on camera!

If any of ya'll want to, bikes are more than welcome to run, not just cars. In fact, about 60% of the filming is done from bike cams. Further, all the antics will be caught on tape. So don't do anything you don't want your mother to see.

Speaking of cops...well, we'll have our work cut out for us (I never understood that phrase?). Patrol and squad cars are BMW 540s and Mercedes Benz E500s. Helicopters will also get in on chases, monitering the chase from the air. Once we get on the open highways, the big four door cruisers are replaced with large, yet nimble CL500s and 645ci's. They also use bikes, but the big cruisers are more for city mobility. The cops you really have to look out for are the undercover units that use very high end, very fast cars, including CLS55s and the new M5s and M6s.

Cops are dirty, and play to win, ramming cars off the road, setting up spike strips that cover entire portions of highways, using undercover units, and going as far to get light military envolvement. There is no law against street racing in Imitora. However, there are no laws saying it is legal either. It is left up to the officers' discretion, and few, if any, feel that street racing, or this mass rally style races should be legal.

The race will be a mix of high end pulls on wide open highways, where top speed is king, and diving into small cities and using the near race track quality city highway systems to loose cops, and get other racers lost ;-).

I'm working on a play list right now that I will listen to when posting, and as soon as its done, I'll get up info for my character. The man, the myth, the legend...

Victory.

It is the driving force behind our actions, a motivation for completing tasks of a competative nature. It is what we all strive for, an end to which no mean is too crazy, out there, or dangerous. There are men and women who will stop at nothing to get victory, to claim the title. There are many who seek victory for many reasons:Fame, Money, Power, Respect. Then there are those who seek victory for one reason alone. The adrenaline rush, the jump that gets the senses tingling, puting the seeker on edge, setting off all the nerve endings. The end to these men is not victory. No, victory is the means, it is the adventure that is the end.

Robert Fortier is one of those men.

He is the man, the myth, the legend. In Imitora, it is claimed that none can rival his speed. None can tame his abilities. None can touch him. He is, without a doubt, one of the fastest men alive.

At age 16, upon recieving his liscense, it was seen that he was indeed a natural. One blessed with the tallent of driving, one who, no matter what the vehicle, could push it around any track, down any strip, through any set of twisty roads, taking the vehicle past its capabilities.

He as raced everything, from supercars to bikes, trucks to sedans. If it has wheels and a motor, he has done it. Some say that he is not a man at all, but a ghost, a spirit, an otherwordly being whose only job it is to torture the poor mortals who try to race him. Others say he is a machine, an advanced cybernetic being, designed to test the limits of vehicles at thier upmost edge, and beyond that, who was loosed on the streets. Others say just let the guy drive.

He as seen many cars pass under him in the past, from massive single turbo Supras to fancy up done Audis. But now he has but one ride to race. Sure, he owns a small fleet of vehicles, an Audi S8 for daily driving, a Nissan Skyline for track racing, a Suzuki Hayabusa for those time he just wants to go real fast, but when it comes to racing in the real world, there is only one make, one model, that can satisfy his needs. The BMW M3.

The yard stick by which all others are judged, the Bavarian Beast, the Autobahn Bomber, the Teutonic Terror is far from it's stock restrictions. It started life as a E46 M3, powered by the now infamous S54B32 inline six. However, the motor was removed from its harness, and now sits, awaiting a new home. Sitting in its spot is a motor from an older E36 M3, the S50B32. A three point two liter inline six, the block was custom built by DA Motorsports for holding power. A custom Garrett turbo is mounted to the six, and tuning has rated the motor at over one thousand horse power. Through a small amount of street tunning, Fortier has managed to spin the rollers of the Dynometer at 942 rear wheel horsepower, and 805 foot pounds of torque. It waits for any and all takers, ready to put the most ardent challenger to shame.

Slight body modifications hold the car down to the road at its top speed of 235 miles per hour, and a full suspension upgrade helps the car stay tight and ready in the corners. Fortier has nothing to hide, and will release any information to those who wish to know what exactly makes the M3 run.*

He calls it:

Destiny (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v75/HABITAT/Picture038.jpg)

*I'd list the full set of Mods, but I don't want to bore you with technical mumbo jumbo, but if you want the list, I'll post it up.

Re-posted from my TG inbox now that the forums are working again.

I'm a native Houstonian - and somewhere I have a picc of an equally rare Vector M12 parked at one of the Mercedez dealerships here in town. In my younger days I definitely qualified for the 'life is stranger than fiction' catagory.

What is my pet peeve nowdays are the massive numbers of H2o's and 3's one sees trundling around town - if this were the wild and wooley Hill Country I might see reason, but here in Houston? *rolls eyes*

I can't get my posts to take in the forums - I know that Imi lost a couple of posts as well...

so here's my reply to yours in the race ooc thread

Ah...the Hill Country. I love it up there. And yeah, off-road vehicles in a city deserves an eye-roll or two.
