My nation (the Californain Commonwealth) declared independence on November 19, 1999 from the United States, however in the original roleplay President Maddox who was elected in 2008 took a policy giving no recognition to the independence of the states that left to form the Californian Commonwealth and declared war later on in 2011 to reclaim those states as part of the United States beginning the Second Civil War.
