Katrina heard Krastatros's message. She couldn't send a message back to him and she decided as soon as Vladimir was finished, she would go to him. She laughed as he began to tickle her stomach, she tried to wiggle away from his fingers but found her laughter pinning her firmly to the bed.

Katrina wiggled from Vladimir and stared up at his beautiful body. She ran her hands gently over his muscles.

She spoke softly to him. "Make love to me now...please...take me."

Krastatros could sense that Vladmir and Katrina were getting "intimate". He shook his head. He would have to wait to see Katrina, and interrogate her.

Vladimir nodded without a word and slowly undressed her, as well as finishing undressing himself. He took one good look of her luscious body before kissing her passionately, pulling her body closer to his. "Katrina...you are unlike any I've seen before," he smiled as he kissed they began a night of passion...

Katrina was breathing heavily when they had finished and Vladimir rolled off of her. Her body was heated to the point where it felt she would burst into flames. The vampiress didn't know how long they were at it, all she knew it had sated her hunger for Vladimir for the time being. She remembered biting him once or twice to get the excitment up and he did the same to her. She rolled on her side and kissed him passionately.

"That was unlike anything I have experianced before in my life. You are a master of this art." Katrina began to kiss him and run her hands up and down his body before closing her eyes and shuddering, making it look like she had recieved a message. She looked at him.

"Krastatros wants to see me now. I'll be back. Don't go away."

Katrina gave Vladimir another kiss before sliding out of the bed. Her mind still swirling from the bed and her body heated, she step was a little out of place as she walked over to the closet and got dressed in the black dress Vladimir had pulled out earlier. She put back on her gold leaf with blood red ruby necklace on and gave Vladimir one last kiss before walking from her room, shutting the door behind her.

The vampiress located Krastatros and when he had turned to her, she bowed respectfully.

"You wished to see me my Lord?"

Vladimir was breathing heavily as she rubbed her hands along his body. He brought his mouth to hers, kissing her passionately, his hands rubbing her back, before letting her pull away.

"We get better with age, I suppose," Vladimir laughed as he caught his breath. "I won't be going anywhere."

As she closed the door behind her, Vladimir lay down slowly on her bed, reviewing what had gone on since he met her. In the relatively short time, he had met his wife, taught her to be the vampire she was, possibly finding one of the most powerful vampires in history, and had a passionate night with her.

"Now what would Krastatros want with Katrina?" Vladimir mused aloud as he stared at the ceiling.

"Ahh yes, Katrina. Sit down. I have somethings I need to ask you. Where did you first live? When did you first become a vampire? Did you ever meet any other vampires before Vladmir?"

Katrina sat down in a chair and a second later Krastatros was popping questions. She answered calmly.

"I lived in a small village some days south of here. People raise various grains, cattle, chickens and pigs. I became a vampire about a month ago. I was out just after dark when a man came and abducted me. He took me to some cave, drained some blood to keep me weak and proceeded to rape me. I don't know how long I stayed...during that time he turned me into a vampire. Until Vladimir...my attacker is the only vampire I have met my Lord. When I had stumbled home, the cross sent me running and everyone tried to kill me. At my village and most in the area since I preyed upon the animals before Vladimir showed me humans...they have erected crosses to keep us out."

Katrina let Krastatros sit on her response and quietly waited for more questions.

She cocked her head to one side, wracking her memory as she ripped another appendage off the human. “Isn’t it supposed to act on the persons emotional capacity and thought?” Tyranna shrugged. “I wouldn’t know for sure, but that seems to be the reaction of that glowing staff you’re holding.” She smirked “I’d have to take a look at my reference books for my novels. I’m quite sure it’s a few pages from “excalibur” and “Spiritus” And here she tapped the staff/blade at her side. “Latin for wind” She explained as she ripped through the calf of the human, warm blood dripping off her chin enticingly.

Boaz smiled and said, "Yes, and it allows me to summon the spirits of the various Titans. If I wanted to I could summon the power of Cronus. We could wipe the floor with Krastatros." He looked at what was left of the human and said, "Are you done, yet?"

Raphael continued his travels towards where Boaz was suppose to live. While he walked, at a pace that exhast most humans, he wondered if he'd perhaps misjudged Vladimir. He hoped he had as it could quite likely lead to problems for Katrina if he had judged the man's condition correctly.

"I am stronger and faster than any human my Lord." Katrina said. "I can also transform myself in a bat. I cannot talk with my mind though. I am not that strong, it hurts my mind quiet a lot."

Katrina paused before talking again. "Well...I have my womanly traits for luring prey. I am also good in trees, I used to climb them a lot as a child. Though, I cannot read, write or swim. Vladimir said he would teach me those things though. Is there anything else my Lord?"

Immeaditly after Katrina bowed, Krastatros grabbed her scalp. He closed his eyes and thought for awhile. He searched for her past. After awhile, he let go. "I'm sorry for that. I needed to be sure you were not a spy or doppleganger from Boaz. I am sorry. You may return to your love now, Katrina."
The Golden Simatar

Katrina felt Krastatros's strong fingers around her scalp and almost like another hand digging into her mind, searching and poking. Within seconds it was done and she had her explination. She took a few steps back and gave him a respectful bow before returning upstairs to her love.

She smiled as she opened the door and shut it. "Good to see you are still there."

Katrina undressed and hung the dress up for later use. The naked vampiress climbed back into her bed with Vladimir and kissed him. "Krastatros just wanted to talk to me, figure me out and just to check that I am not Boaz's spy."

Katrina smiled and kissed him again, resting her head on his chest. "What shall we do now my love?"

Katrina gently stroked his stomach. She gently kissed his chest as she thought, she wasn't in the mood right now for swordfighting nor practicing torture techniques on vampires. She looked up into Vladimir's eyes.

"When shall we hold our wedding?" She then paused. "And when can I take you to my old village to 'visit' my family?"

"We could hold our wedding in a week if you want. And if you want it earlier, we can hold it in a few days," he whispered as he wrapped his arm over the back of her waist. "But that would depend on how or when you want to meet your family and friends. We could deal with your family anytime, at the wedding if you want."

"We can even go to your village tomorrow," he said as he looked down on her, smiling widely. "But only if you feel ready."

Katrina moved closer to Vladimir and sighed contently. She liked the cool feel of his pale skin against hers, she felt safe in his arms and felt that no harm could ever come to her.

"A week sounds good." Katrina said. "Give me a chance to get the whole 'noble' thing down a bit more."

She paused as she considered her family. "No, they can't come to the wedding. They would never believe this and my father would try to kill me. It would alert any human nobles who might come so we would have to have dessert a bit early. I would like to see them tomorrow night. A few men from the village most likely are still looking for me in their spare time and I want the village gone so we don't have to worry about anything. Though, we need to get Arcen to remove some crosses outside of the village at night before we arrive."

"Of course, my love. Arcen lives to serve," Vladimir replied.

"Now, about your family. How many people would you want us to kill? Any friends? Other villagers?"

Vladimir moved his hands down Katrina's smooth back, stroking her gently. The stress of his nobility gone when he is with her, his worries and fears dissolved.

All that mattered to him were two things, Living with Katrina, and teaching her all he knew, whether she would become the most vampire or not...

"Malthazius, you puzzle me. You say you have been eyeing me, and here we are in bed, and you are like a statue. I thought you wanted to travel with me and spend time with me, but you have not said a word to me." Aeschia said.

She got out of bed, disgusted, and saddened that she was obviously not attractive enough for him.

Aeschia changed out of her nightgown and back into the clothes she was wearing prior to changing.

Malthazius did not say a word. Not even goodbye.

Aeschia just walked out the door with no plans whatsoever, other than to possibly speak to the lycan, should he be around.

Otherwise, she would just wander... basically with no purpose and no companionship.

Aeschia was, yet again, alone.

Katrina began to gently kiss Vladimir's chest and stomach, a finger gently tracing around his muscles. She thought quietly, the village had been kind to her until the day she returned. She of course wanted the Priest dead...he would be the first to die as so his god could not protect the others from her wrath. As she thought, a cruel grin moved across her face as she looked up Vladimir to his face. She spoke with an evil glee in her voice and a predatory look in her eyes.

"All of them...the old, the middle age, the very young. Course...the Priest has to go first."

The vampiress gently moved on top of him, kissing his pale stomach and chest, her eyes never leaving his. "Sneak into their homes...kill them in their sleep. A broken neck, a knife to the throat...house by house till mine. Then, a nice little chat with mom and dad...then, our long awaited meal. My sister would have already left...so she is safe."

Katrina slid up to his face and placed her hands on his arms, gently kissing him and speaking in a quiet, seductive tone. "They all have to die Vladimir...everyone from the elderly to the children. I want them on the floor with thier blood flowing from their bodies like rivers. I want to smell it, to feel thier blood on me as they die one by one. They nearly killed me and deserve nothing less. Please Vladimir...will you help me get my vengence? Please my love..."

Vladimir raised an eyebrow as she once again had the predatory gaze, the insidious grin...

"Katrina?" he asked quietly, nearly inaudible. As she slowly inched up his body, he closed his eyes, feeling her kisses, wanting more. He opened his eyes as she reached his face.

"And you're sure your sister won't be there?" Vladimir asked, making sure that they wouldn't be pointed at for the murders, once others found out the whole village was dead...Then again, all the vampires would be amazed at such a feat...

Vladimir matched her smile with his own, dark grin. "But wouldn't it feel better if the whole village found out your new place in life? That you are richer than the whole village combined?"

Katrina continued to kiss Vladimir, her fingers making gentle patterns on his body. She continued to kiss while she talked in the same seductive tone. "Before I was taken she was preparing to leave. By now she is with her man far away."

She looked at Vladimir as he suggested sparing the village and letting them see her wealth and new position in society. That would bring some momentary triumph and pleasure to her, but it would not satisfty the lust for revenge.

"My family will know. No one else my love. I want them to perish in thier beds. I want each one of them to die. To wake and see us before having thier neck broken or throat slashed. Then..." Katrina leaned in, kissing Vladimir passionatly on the lips as she spoke genlty to him and licked his fangs. "...we will come to my family. The meal after the end of a long night will taste so...sweet. Maybe spare a child to have as dessert...they are sweet and so full of life."

Her eyes looked deep into his own. "Please help me Vladimir...I need this. They have betrayed me in a way no one could. Please Vladimir...let us bathe in thier blood and savor my family and a child like they were a good piece of cow. Please..."

"We will kill then in any and every way you want them to die. Let other villages fear the vampires, like in old."

"Then...when we are with your family...we make them beg for mercy, ask for your forgiveness...and then feast..."

"Now if you want, we can round up as many children as you want, and bring whatever we cannot eat with us..."

Vladimir brought his mouth to Katrina's and kissed passionately. "Anything for my Katrina..."

Aeschia decided to go back to the bar and see if the lycan was still there. Obviously Malthavius had no interest in anything at all, so she would go speak to the lycan in Malthazius' place, if the lycan would have it.

She pulled up and had her horses stabled, then went and spoke to Johannes.

"Hello there." She smiled. "It seems your friend has no interest in me or is in a coma and I will need another room. Please give me your best." Aeschia smiled and gave him a large sum of gold. A porter brought her things to her room and Aeschia headed to the bar.

As she walked in, everyone turned to look at the stunning woman. Aeschia looked around and found the lycan that Malthazius was supposed to speak with. She walked up to him and sat down next to him.

She turned to him and smiled. "Hello, my name is Aeschia. I hope you do not mind if I join you, sir. My former companion is just that, I believe... former. He seems to be... vegetative or something, I do not know. Therefore, I decided I would come and meet you in his place and talk, as I knew you had things to discuss, if that was OK with you." She stated. "I hope I can be of the same help as Malthazius."

Aeschia was still perplexed, she had never met a man in her life who passed up a night with her. Something was definitely wrong with Malthazius.

"Is this acceptable?" She asked the lycan. "If not, I will make arrangements to leave tonight. Malthazius has no interest in anything at all and is nearly in a coma.

"What is your name, lycan, and what is it you would like to speak about?" Aeschia asked. "If you do not mind me taking his place." Aeschia said, displaying a beautiful smile.

"My love, I feel that together we will be an unstoppable force. You have learned quickly. Considering most, if not all, vampires have taken far longer than you have to learn to become a bat...Imagine what you can accomplish in those years?"

"I intend to keep you by my side for as long as time lets us. I will not let go," he replied, kissing Katrina passionately, holding her tightly. He broke away and stared into her eyes. "I love you, my Katrina. I'm glad you accepted my offer to bring you home, the first night in the woods..."

"I am glad too." Katrina said. "If it had not been for you finding me I would still be out there living off of filthy animals instead of tasty humans. I would have never known true love...or as some say...the pleasures of the flesh."

Katrina rested her head on his chest, holding onto him and taking in his scent. It was hard to believe, one night before she was a worthless peasant...and now she was Countess, she was in the arms of a powerful vampire she would marry within a week, she had learend how to become a bat and hunt, and soon she would be having her vengence against her village.

Katrina looked up at Vladimir as he mentioned what thier future would hold for them. She gave him her predatory grin and bared in fangs in a mock display of intimidation.

"I can grow powerful. We will keep the rogue vampires down and make sure that the pure vampires...the noble vampires are above the humans." She gave another fang display. "The humans will fear us and be our cattle. When I grow powerful...I can keep them under control for you. Teach me war and I can devour villages till they submit."

"I will teach you anything my love. Anything your heart desires..."

Vladimir gently brought his hands up her sides, stroking her bare flesh as he imagined their empire, their greatness...

He smiled widely, letting his long fangs show openly, before he kissed Katrina on the head. "We have quite a lot to work on, my love. But when we finish it...we will be so powerful, so incredible...we'll rule the world," he chuckled quietly, in almost a sinister laugh. He loved imagining these things. Aeschia was concerned about Malthazius, however she was feeling a bit rejected. Something must have been wrong. She mused. I never should have left him alone. That was so selfish.

Aeschia ascended the stairs and let herself into the room she was previously in. Malthazius was lying on the bed.

"Malthazius... are you OK? I... I... am confused...

"However, if you would like to continue where we left off, I have no objections. There is still time before sunrise." She looked at his beautiful body and grinned seductively. Aeschia leaned over and gave him a passionate kiss.

Hopefully he was OK now. She desired him so much... She ached for him. The thought of the two of them making love made her heart start to pound.

"Malthazius! Malthazius!"

"Who is this? And where in God's name am I?" Malthazius looked around. He was, suddenly, transplanted to a mountain in the middle of the Alps. He tried to engage his flames, but they were suppressed, not from the altitude, but from some other source.

"You, Malthazius, are still on a bed in Berlin, but your mind is here, with me, in a place that no mere mortal could ever reach by physical means." The voice came from behind Malthazius, and he turned, to see a man, cloaked in red, with a shield on his left arm, but his right hand empty, and with a sword belt that held neither sword nor scabbard. Additionally, he had wings of the purest white. His face was bright, more perfectly formed than any human's, and his hair fell behind him in red waves. "I think that you know who I am."

"Champion of God."

"You are looking for something, Malthazius. Something that belongs to me. I am told that you are the one who would be able to wield it as I did. Johannes, though he is a cursed creature, has the knowledge of its location. He is willing to share it with you, though you must be careful, for the location is not where one would look if he were an intelligent man. Only a truly wise man would be able to find it with ease. You will need it shortly.

"A great threat, one of the accursed Kindred, has recently awoken. His name is Krastatros. It is against him that I need you to do battle. Heed my words Malthazius, and let faith guide your heart."

Malthazius opened his eyes, Aeschia standing in the doorway. He had heard the last few word that she had said. How long was I out, he thought to himself.

He got up from the bed, and walked over to Aeschia. "My apologies. I am afraid that I was stolen away. Please, forgive me for that, it was...unavoidable." He bent and kissed her, long, bringing his hands around her body. He brought his hands forward, picking her up, and held her, still engaged with her face.

Boaz replied, "I am not sure if I could control the living dead with this rod. I do believe that it is possible with a certain incantation." Boaz looked towards his library. "I must check in my library for it, however." Boaz smiled when she said that someone was on there way. Boaz thought to himself, I wonder who it is. Boaz then used telepathy to search out the being who was headed towards his home. Boaz looked at Tyranna and said, "It is your kindred, Tyranna. A demon by the name of Raphael." Katrina shivered as Vladimir's hands went up her sides. She moaned softly as she wrapped her arms around his back and pulled him as close as she could. She loved the thought, the pair of them, ruling the land. Humans being nothing more than cattle, rogue vampires turned to slaves while noble vampires bowed at thier feet. She forgot about Krastatros, she could only imagine herself and Vladimir.

"Right now?" Vladimir laughed quietly before he brought his mouth to Katrina's neck, performing her own moves on her, carefully brushing his fangs against her neck. He smiled as he glanced at the look of her face, wondering how much longer she can wait before she fully desires him. Being an extremely strong vampire with nearly first brood blood, her erotic hunger was unbearable at times. This was one of those times. Aeschia thought she was going to go insane. "You are torturing me Malthazius." She looked deeply into his eyes.

Malthazius bent low and scooped Aeschia into is arms and carried her to the bed. He lay down next to her and kissed her long and deep, his hands busy elsewhere. "You are one of the most beautiful creatures that I have ever seen." His eyes smoldered, but he remembered himself, and forced the flames down within himself.

"You need not worry. I know of nothing that would be able to take away my willing interest in you." He kissed her again.

Aeschia gasped. She was actually trembling under the movement of his deft hands.

"Oh Malthazius..." She was breathing hard, and moaning... "You have not known the love of a vampire as I have not know the love of a pyro."

Aeschia was reaching a form of ecstasy just from kissing him, and his hands, expertly moving over her body, as she moved hers over his. She could not stop her moaning... it was uncontrollable. She loved his slow, deep, erotic kisses, and hungered for him...

Aeschia licked his neck and rubbed her fangs lightly over his neck, something she was sure he never felt. "Do not worry. I will not bite you." She whispered as she nibbled his ear and kissed and sucked his neck. His body was hard muscle, and made her blood nearly boil. Being of such strong blood, her eroticism exceeded just about anyone's.

She caressed his muscles and ran her hands through her hair... what she could not get enough of was their mouths together, their tongues dancing deeply.

"Malthazius," Aeschia gasped, "I do not think I have ever ached and desired anyone as I do you. I am burning up inside. Taking things a little slow like this is so teasing to me..." she gasped again as he kissed and sucked her neck, his hands moving all over her. As much as she wanted to taste his blood, she would never.

She was moaning uncontrollably under his spell. "Malthazius... " she gasped. He had been on top of her for a while now and she was in another place.

"I hope you have energy... damn... the sun... will be up in an hour or two... I ... wanted you... all night..."

Aeschia could hardly wait for him to take her, to feel him inside her.

"When you take me..." she gasped between moans, "take me hard." Aeschia said.

She was shaking and quivering and nearly insane, his perfect mouth covering hers, as well as other areas of her body, her hands roaming his perfect body... Aeschia could hardly stand waiting... she was ready to beg him to take her...

She paused for a moment then her eyes widened. “Raphael?” Tyranna hissed. Now she remembered. He had been her friend ages ago, when she was considered young for a demon. He had rescued her from a group of people who had recognized her as a demon, and nearly killed her while hunting her. She had to recuperate for two weeks, and, during that time, got to know the older male. The moment she was healed, she left and tried to push him out of her mind, but to no avail. She had ended up using his personality for a character in one of her novels. She looked at Boaz with shining eyes. “Well, it appears as though YOU know I’ve been aquatinted with him. Malthazius drew th covers on top of the two of them. His hands went to the buckles that held his pants on. Quickly, they were gone.He pulled the sheets up further, envelopnig the two of them. Taking great care, he allowed his skin temperature to rise by just a few degrees, small, but for one like Aeschia, it would make all the difference. In truth, he felt that his blood was soon ready to ignite. "Too slow for you? Then take me as you will, my Lady."

Mathazius turned over, bringing the vampiress on top of him. They were still under the covers. Her kisses were tender, soft, and exhilerating, for he had never felt a vampire's kiss before.

Katrina moved her lips from his and they found his neck. Her fangs slid into his flesh and she drank deeply. She pulled back, a thin stream of blood coming from the corner of her mouth.

Katrina looked up at him. Her arms wrapped behind his neck. "Enjoy me my love, my body is yours. Take me...tell me what you want and I shall give it."

She kissed him passionately, and began kissing him down his neck and chest, slightly rubbing her fangs as she continued down to his stomach, her hands exploring every inch of him.

"No no Malthazius...", she slid up and looked him in the eyes, her back arched and her body pushing against his.

"I want you to have me the way you want... I am sure I will not regret you taking me any way you wish. Please... you take control... I am completely yours." Aeschia kissed him passionately, her breathing excellerated and moaning nearly constantly, feeling his entire body under hers.

Malthazius slowly undid the the ties at the back of Aeschia. Her clothes had left tlittle to be imagined, so the looking was less important. For that matter, his eyes remained closed as he continued to kiss her. He brought her clothes up a bit, freeing her from the constraints, and guided her down on top of him. It was slow, and sensual, but it gradually built, becoming a rythym of deep ecstacy.

*********Just over 90 minutes later**************

Malthazius dropped to Aeschia's side, leaving her at last. "You are truly one of the most magnificent creatures that I have ever known. And I must add, that for all your beauty, both physical and internal, I could feel that you were stronger still." He kissed her. "You have helped me to ease a pain on my heart that I thought would never lighten. I thank you a thousand times over. And now, my fair lady, I do believe that dawn is nearly upon us." He got up from the bed, slowly, and retrieved a pair of loose trousers. He went to the opposite wall, and pressed in two small buttons, releasing a door. This was pulled out by the fingerholds that Malthazius had created. Inside was a bed, small, built inside a slightly larger than usual mahogany coffin, lined with satin of deep red.

"Johannes always does provide excellent lodgings. Both the coffin and the room are, if I know my friend, sun proof, so you shall have a double barrier. I will wait in the hall if you wish to prepare yourself in private for your day sleep. Otherwise, I can wait here to close the concealed door after you have entered. As always, I await your leisure, my Lady. I will be down to talk to the lycan after the sun rise, but Johannes has been kind enough to loan us a couple of men to stand guard while I am absent."

Malthazius slow, erotic lovemaking had given Aeschia everything she could have desired. As they kissed, and moved together, Aeschia could not stop moaning. She reached ecstasy fairly quickly, due to her state of arousal, however, she achieved rolling thunder... nearly consistantly over the top climaxes... long, and one after the other... for nearly an hour. In retrospect, she hoped the walls were soundproof, as she had gone from moaning to screaming and thrashing.

After all was done, they were both perspiring and breathing heavily.

"Malthavius... That was... amazing, her eyes glazed over." She was exhausted and satiated beyond belief. Aeschia kissed him passionately as she stood up. "Malthazius, I do hope you return before sundown." She looked at him slyly and caressed his shoulders.

"I guess it is time to sleep. The lycan should be at the bar. Please tell me what you find out." Aeschia did not want him to leave, but he could hardly be expected to sleep in a coffin all day.

"I am relieved there will be guards, but I will feel safer knowing you are here as soon as you can be back." Aeschia brushed her lips against his, and lay down in the coffin, as Malthazius pushed it under and closed everything up.

Suffice it to say that I had been in Jolly Old England one year for a variety of reasons, stopped by a small church one Sunday, and I have since sworn to never attend a Protestant Service again for as long as I live."

Malthais turned from where he was standing, pivoting on his heels, cracking his back to both sides before flexing backwards. The same was done for his neck. "It does not matter Mathlazius," she smiled. "Go on ahead if you like. I will just throw on my nightgown and be in the coffin when you get back.

"Just for your information, I do not always sleep in a coffin. I have not for a very long time. At least not at my own homes. I slept in a regular bedroom with windows that could be completely blocked out with metal sliding pieces, but this is fine, and very secure." Aeschia explained.

Aeschia put on her nightgown and got into the coffin. I wonder if Malthazius has any... feelings for me? She mused. Or if last night was just a purely carnal act for him. It really was not for me. She thought. But he does not act as if he has any feelings for me. I know we just met, but... I'm getting the idea that he is looking at last night as a one nighter and has no interest in me. Well how could he... she sighed, I am what he usually kills, she thought sadly.

It was just the way he just popped out of bed and there was no tenderness afterward and it was back to business for him as if nothing happened. Aeschia was slightly hurt, but trying to look at the reality... as far as she knew he slept with all kinds of women.

Aeschia began to get drowsy and fell asleep before Malthazius ever returned to the coffin.

Malthazius stood over the bowl, relieving himself with a sigh. His mind turned to Aeschia. The night had been, well, interesting. They had met so quickly, and done so much, it was bewildering. Malthazius wondered if chance had thrown Aeschia to him, or something else. She really was special. "Get a grip on yourself, man. She's a vampiress. You're a Pyromantic Hunter. It will never work." He said this aloud to himself. Still, he could not help the feelings that he had for her, feelings that reminded him of, no, he was just deluding himself. He was still cursed, bound to God and a servant of the Lord until his redemption was obtained.

He came out to find Aeschia gone, already asleep, and both coffin and door panel closed. Deciding to see if he could speed things up, he grabbed a clean shirt, strapped on his only remaining pair of leather boots, and headed down to meet the werewolf.

Aeschia was tossing and turning, having trouble sleeping. Yes, she was a vampire and he was a hunter, but the weren't the usual types of vampires and hunters.

In such a short time, she had developed feelings for Malthazius. She knew it was a one way thing. Tears came running down her face.

She would never have a chance with him. She was not up to his standards. Aeschia began to sob. Neither of them was truly evil... why then?

Again, she came to the conclusion that he did not care for her, and that he was above what she was, and would never lower himself to care for a vampire.

Why is it she cared so much, and they were going to travel together, and he had no feelings for her?

Aeschia was so hurt her stomach had pains. She really felt something special for Malthazius, and to know he felt nothing back was like a knife in the heart. She cried herself to sleep.

Of course my lord...but I was only thinking of befriending them, or having Arcen befriend them...but bringing them here would be better I suppose...Just do not kill them, not yet... he thought to Krastatros as he pulled on some clothes rapidly.

He stopped suddenly as he looked dreamily into Katrina's eyes, then taking in her relaxed form. Vladimir smiled as he kissed Katrina one more time, before putting on his vest. "Katrina, I love you. If I do not come back...do not worry, I will, but if I don't, Arcen or my other servants will teach you what you want. My whole house is open to you."

He leaned towards Katrina's neck and whispered, "Get what information you can from Krastatros...and overthrow him when the time is right. It is time when a younger generation comes to power. Krastatros has become to hasty, too uncoordinated...just keep in mind this may take hundres, or even thousands of years."

He kissed Katrina on the neck, barely resisting the urge to sink his fangs in her again. Instead he only brushed against her skin slightly, to hear a slight moan, before walking out hurredly.

"Arcen, get two crossbows," Vladimir said as he put two pistols in holsters underneath is jacket, along with strapping his rapier to his hip.

"Arcen...if I die...and you get out alive...make sure Katrina learned everything. Make sure she gets me fortune...I have already donated a large sum to the clan..." the vampire noble said as he jumped out of the carriage, a bolt ready in his crossbow.

"Of course, my lord..."

Count Vladimir had stepped into the forest and could already smell the dispicable creatures...

He slowly crept up on them.

"What are you two doing in here?" he asked as he pointed his crossbow at one of them. Arcen did the same with the other hunter.

Sigmund still had his back turned to the vampire, but could not identify him because of the crossbow he heard being loaded. He answered in an uncaring tone, "I'm sorry. Is this your spot?" He gput away one steak and grabbed his sword ready for combat.

Sigmund lost interest when he heard the name Boaz. He was hoping that this would somehow involve this "Krastatros" that he wanted to learn about. Sigmund asked Vladimir, "Okay now, this doesn't make sense. I've dealt with vampires attmepting to summon demons before and read their summoning scrolls. They only say that one demon of giant size can be summoned by a vampire no matter how powerful they are. After that, they have to rest for a week before they summon another one. And from what I've seen, two were summoned at the same time and fought against each other. But I suppose it would be possible another vampire summoned one......" Sigmund then ventured by asking the question, "Have you ever heard of a vampire named...Krastatros?"
The Blastit Empire
15-06-2006, 21:56
"I have...however this Krastatros has not been seen for so long...I believe he is either dead, or still in slumber. Plus...it is not his style...he is more of a person who...persuades, rather than acts himself."

"And this two demon thing does worry me. Perhaps Boaz found a way to bypass that. Which would explain his extreme exhaustion and not being able to control the demons. And theres the possibility of a new vampire lord, but one has not yet come to fruitation with enough power...that I can think of at least.," Vladimir replied, rubbing his chin as he played with the two hunters.

Sigmund got out the necklace he found in the coven two weeks ago, a necklace with a silver pentagram and a ruby in its center. He continued, "I found this necklace during a coven service. They were worshipping a vampire by the name of Krastatros and stated that he was returning to power. If you think he's dead, then you should have seen what I saw."

Aeschia was a bit worried as she assumed Malthazius would have been back within an hour or two.

Malthazius got nothing from the werewolf. "I'll talk to you later. I know that you can find us." He headed out for the day, after checking back on the guard that Johannes had provided. They were diligent, and invisible. Whoever said that good help is hard to find was a penny pinching miser. Johannes knew his business. Malthazius felt secure enough to go out for the rest of the day. He drifted from pub to pub, tavern to tavern, asking around in a discreet manner. He got nothing. If there was anything to be known, Johannes would know it.

As the sun set, Malthazius realized the time, and went back to the hotel. He entered the room, and saw that Aeschia was no longer asleep. Trying to figure out where she was, he abasent mindedly blundered into the bathroom. "My apologies, Aeschia," he said, immediately tunring his back. She ran up to him and hugged him and held him, much to her surprise. She wanted to be in his arms. She had to remember; he had no feelings for her.

Vladimir drove the horses to his mansion, the two hunters in in the closed carriage behind him. He had to warn his love and his master. He had to make sure his master was still alive since Boaz is still alive...

Master, both hunters are currently with me. I believe I have won most of their trust...however there is still that bit that distrusts me. I believe it would be safer if you left the mansion...I believe they detected you somehow when the demon was summoned... he thought to Krastatros.

Then, his mind wandered to Katrina, his love. My love, I remain alive and well, but there has been a change of plans. I am bringing the hunters home to try to gain the rest of their trust. I am attempting to persuade them into destroying Boaz for us...then we can take out Krastatros...with both gone, the world will be ours my love.

But as for now, I want you to be safe. You can either lock yourself into a room...or run from the mansion. However, if you feel well enough for it, you may join us for a small meal, human meal mind you. I do not want to force it, my love...I send you my love, and I shall be graced by your beauty soon...

Katrina was about to move back upstairs when the doors opened and the hunters and Vladimir walked in. Too late now. She didn't notice the one hunter gazing at her but she moved into the main room, her hair done back and she was wearing a sleek black dress that glittered in the candle light. She went to Vladimir and gave him a passionate kiss before looking at the two hunters.

"I'm Katrina...soon to be Countess Katrina Thanatos." She said with a smile, her fangs hidden behind her lips. "I have already eaten so I won't be eating with you...the food is very good if I may say so."

Sigmund kept his gaze away from Katrina, and bowed saying, "Perfectly understood madame..." It was a lie though in a sense. Sigmund enjoyed seeing her even if she was engaged. When he saw Katrina, he did not want to admit this himself, she seemed to be so much like his long dead sister. In fact so much that he had to keep mentally telling himself that she was dead. But deep in his mind, he knew that he wanted to see her as his sister, long gone from the world. But he would keep this hidden from these people as best as he could while he was still here but would explain what he saw in her to explain his interests in her if questioned. He took another glance at her and made sure to appear as if he weren't staring.

"My love...I have missed you already," Vladimir said quietly to Katrina, relishing in their passionate kiss. "May I also say that you look quite marvelous in that dress."

"Anyways, now to business. Follow me to the dining room..." he said, noticing one of the hunter's constant stares at his fiance.

Vladimir brushed gently by the hunter, stopping subtly. "I suggest you keep your eyes off my wife, good sir," he whispered before continuing to the dining hall and motioning for the hunters to take a seat.

"Truly," Malthazius said, "you are absolutely right. It would be a pain in the arse to try to conquer the world.

'As for clothes, I am going in fighting gear from this point on, though I do have a special knapsack that has a change for less perilous environments. Sigmund entered the room and sat on the left side of the table across from Erik. He heard Vladimir's suggestion about his staring and would not comment about it. He had these types of experiences with nobles before, but never seen a woman so familiar. Of course, Vladimir was obviously another bickering noble who didn't care about the feelings of lesser people, even the former heir of a duchy. Sigmund awaited whatever they were about to discuss...

Katrina was suspious of the man as he kept looking at her. Why does he eye me so? Had he been in a village she might had passed through before Vladimir found her? Had he come through her village and she had forgotten his face? Whatever the reason, Katrina hated it. If he made a pass at her in private she would be sure to drain him dry.

When the hunters were seated, Katrina took a chair near the table and sat quietly as the men went on with business about Krastatros and Boaz.

As the two left the bar, Malthazius heard Aeschia's voice, and how it had changed. What did I do? If she feels that we could never be together then I am fine, but why do I continue to have feelings for her. She could kill me, but I can not shake a desire to protect her, to befriend her, to... Malthazius cut off that line of thinking. Stop kidding yourself. Sje wouldn't be interested. Or is it that travelers tell him things and he gathers information?" Aeschia asked Malthazius. "I certainly find him to be a pleasant man. I assume you choose your friends wisely." She smiled.

I do not want to be nosey, so feel free not to answer this question: "You are kind of a loner, without many good friends you spend time with... due to your duties... am I correct? "Will we be walking on roads, or through forrests, or all over? I do not know the most stealthy way to travel in this area."

Aeschia was still feeling hurt, like a knife was in her stomach. Not a word from him about last night... not any sort of gesture of interest. It really hurt her because she knew how she felt about him. And to him, she was just a one nighter. Never mentioned a think and acted like it never happened. Aeschia was quite down, and tried to hide it, however she did not think she was succeeding too well. She felt kind of used.

She continued their conversation. "Can you tell me what this sword will do when we find this vampire? If it can kill him, it will likely be something I cannot touch, correct, Malthazius?" She looked at him as they walked.

"Probably. The sword was an angel's balde. I am looking for it only because I can unleash its true power. Remember the story about how it was a sword on fire? Michael was the first Pyromancer. That's why I need to get that sword, since only another pyro can reignite the flames and wield it with any true skill. To king Richard, it was a holy sword. To me, it is an instrument that a musician revels in."

"I'd say we fly soon. Oh, and about last night, I just wanted you to know that, well, I enjoyed it. You are the first since I became a Pyro. It meant something to me, and you deserve to know." Malthazius ignited, and rose into the air. "Shall we?"

Truth was she was still hurt. 'It meant something.' Did not exactly mean, 'I care.' Aeschia was still sad. She was realizing she cared for Malthazius beyond just a friendship. He did not. "So, do we change?" She asked Malthazius.

Aeschia was upset with his attitude. He never hugged her or kissed her. He did not treat her as anything other than a night of hot sex, no matter what he said. She did not want to travel with someone so cold. He was nothing but all business, not even humorous at all. Nothing. Never even smiled at her or showed any affection whatsoever. If those demons were sent up to fight each other, I would guess that these two vampires were in a rivalry of some kind. If Boaz was able to summon two demons at once, then he must be a son of the devil himself."

Sigmund took a bite of the pork and noticed that it was fresh and had no taint of poison or anything. Whatever Vladimir's family was though, was a curious matter. A beautiful blonde, resembling everything his sister was, engaged to a count who appeared to be a vampire, and a man old enough to be Vladimir's grandfather but was told was his father. The man gently moved through the trees, his prey was close, he could almost taste the foul beasts evil. He shrugged his back pack a bit, and raised his rifle, the lens in his helmet gave him a clear view at his target. The giant wolfman moved slowly towards its lair, the body of the villager it had claimed as its food, still clamped tightly in its claws, the blood masking his scent. He breathed out slowly, sighting along his rifle. With a thundering boom, the blackpowder ignited propelling the shot towards its target with unnerving accuracy. The Wolfman turned once dropping its prey as it sensed a new threat, and then it sensed no more. The silver shot punched through the beasts chest, piercing its hearts as it travelled, the beast howled once in pain and staggered slightly forwards before collapsing to the ground. Petruzzio strode up to it, and drew his sword, the beasts shoulders still raggedly drew breath as it slowly glanced up at him, a look of fear and pain in its eyes. "I release you Demon" Petruzzio growled, before slamming his sabre down upon its neck, the head gently rolled away, and he inspected the girl on the floor, she still lived but the bite marks were indicative of the state she should soon possess. Leaning down over her, he gently drew his knife, its silver edge gleaming in the moon light, and before she even opened her eyes, slit her throat.

After saying a short prayer he piled the bodies inside the cave, and burnt them. He stalked away from the firelight and towards where he had left his horse, he hauled himself up into the saddle, and reached into one of the saddle bags pulling out a bottle of fine Vino, he uncorked it and took a deep swig. He recorked the bottle and kicked his heels, sending the horse into a Gallop towards the monastery nearby.

Considering Malthazius strange state of mind and the fact the he never responded to her questions, Aeschia came to the conclusion they would be better off going their own way.

She knew nothing of this sword... neither did he, the way it sounded.

He refused to respond when she spoke of her feelings. It was if she was not there. He was cold as ice. Interesting for a Pyro. Aeschia wondered if he was really capable of feelings.

"Malthazius, after speaking of being alone all the time, perhaps that is the way you were meant to be. You ignore me when I am speaking to you about something and do not answer me when I ask questions. When you do, you are glib and blunt. I find it upsetting, and actually rude. Something is not right with you when I speak of my feelings and you do not acknowledge that I said anything about it at all." Aeschia continued.

"I think it is best if we go our separate ways. When we first met, you were different. Now you are cold as ice and as far away from me as you could be. This is not conducive to my well being. I feel used. You have turned into a different person.

Petruzzio knelt before the Holy Cross, his lips moving in silent prayer, when a man in a dark brown robe silently padded up to him and waited. As Petruzzio finished his lamentation for the dead, he stood up brushing down his tunic and trousers. "Yes Brother Mikal?" the Monk merely gestured for Petruzzio to follow him. As the pair made their way through the quiet Monastery towards the chambers of Father Johann, the sound of quiet chanting filled the air around them.

Brother Mikal Knocked on the door and stepped away, to allow Petruzzio to enter. As your time with us has reached its conclusion, i recommend you go to this town, and begin your investigations there, as this seems to be where the majority of this Unholy activity is centred. I wish you luck Petruzzio, and may the lord watch over and keep you." Petruzzio bowed to Father Johann, before making his way rapidly from the chamber and to his cell, he looked over his armour, and smiled to himself whilst strapping it on. The Chase it seemed, was on.

As the early morning light broke over the Monastery Petruzzio galloped away on his dark brown warhorse, heading to the place where these reports had come.

Perhaps if she found this sword she would look for Mathazius, however, his ice cold demeanor was difficult to be around. He did not start out that way. Aeschia wondered what happened, that all of a sudden he was so cold to her.

The horse and rider sped through the darkness of the night, both secure in the company of each other, and relying on one another for safety. Petruzzio had latched his visor upwards, and leaned low over his horse, his cloak flared as the wind caught it, and finally after many days and nights of hard riding he had arrived finally at his destination. he reared the horse to a stop above the small town below, his cloak and helmet giving him a sinister shape atop the hill, he reached into a saddlebag and produced a slender black leather and wooden case, and snapping it open ran his fingers gently along the small glass circles contained within. His fingers finding what he sought he lowered his visor with the other hand and gently slid the glass circle into the slight protrusion on the right hand side. He scanned the town looking for any overt signs of an Evil presence here, having found none he gently placed the case back in its saddlebag, and loosened his rifle slightly from its position beside his backpack. Spurring his horse he made his way down the hill and towards the town.

For some reason, Aeschia could not just walk out on Malthazius. She stopped and turned around.

"Malthazius, I think we should talk. I find communication vital. If we can manage that, I think we will do well... Aside from that... I-I just do not want to leave you. I want to be with you." Aeschia told him looking at him to see what he had to say.

"I too wish you to remain. I am sorry that I am not as direct. I have been living a life neither by day nor by night. I have enemies on both sides of the dawn and dusk, and I am well hated in higher circles of evil. You are truly the first person that has ever confided in me, and that means something to me. I have tried to confide in you as well, but I know not whether I can ever truly return to the days that are now lost to me.

Aeschia walked up to Malthavius and held him. "I would like nothing more than to help you tear down that wall... and I will do my best to help you. Just remember that you can trust me, and that I care deeply for you.

"Moreover, you can tell me anything. Confide anything. I will keep your secrets." Aeschia replied.

"You see, because of my age, and my experience and being kindred, I am a far more outright person. I tend to tell others what I think or feel.

"Believe me, this is not how all kindred are, however when it comes to matters of the heart, we do not tend to hold back. I will try to help you to express yourself, Malthavius. You are very special and I care for you a lot. It is not difficult for me to say these things." Aeschia said as she rubbed his back trying to relax him.

She stepped back, "Mathazius, while we are traveling together, will you tell me about your life? Experiences have shaped you and put up that wall around you. Each experience that pushes you away from others or from society is a brick. You build that wall brick by brick. Now you must tear down the wall. Coming to terms with what made each brick is helpful. Then you tear it down for good." Aeschia smiled. "It is a good metaphor, and definitely how someone becomes emotionally numbed off the way you are."

Aeschia smiled. "I am not a brick in that wall. I am going to help you smash them. Do not keep things from me and be honest with me. Share with me. It will feel strange to you, but it will help you become more comfortable with yourself and others. And we can work on what negative things built those bricks, figure them out, and smash them!" Aeschia grinned.

"One day, you will be standing in the middle of the rubble of was once the wall, no longer standing."

Aeschia kissed him on the cheek. Hell, the recently emerging philosophers and psychologists had nothing on Aeschia. When you live 10,000 years, you tend to learn to understand all types of people.

Malthazius kissed Aeschia back, and as he did, he hugged Aeschia close to him, running his hands slowly up her back. "I truly believe that you are stealing my heart, Aeschia.

"I can only promise you that I shall try. But I will do whatever needs to be done for you to help me." Malthazius turned, and entered the abbey. Using his left fist as a torch, he made his way slowly to the tomb of the Lionheart. Kneeling, he prayed "Lord, forgive me, for I do this at behest of thine angel." Standing, he shoved the lid of the sarcophagus sideways, revealing the coffin of Richard the Lionheart. He opened this, and looked in. The bones of the king lay in repose, some of the flesh still on it. Holding his breath from the stench, he looked in, and found that which he was searching for.

Gleaming red in its scabbard, clasped in the hands of the the skeletal remains, was Saint Michael's Sword. Malthazius reached down, grabbed the blade and scabbard, and fastened it to his belt. He shut the coffin, and with another shove, the top of the sarcophagus was returned to its original place.

Stepping out, he turned to Aeschia. "Shall we to Paris now?"

Aeschia smiled. "Malthazius, I think you are stealing mine as well. If we are not the odd couple, I do not know who is!" She laughed.

"Just always feel free to talk to me about anything... things in your past... we will tear down the wall. It will not make you weak. I am very interested in your past. If you ever want to hear about mine... let's say I look older than the 27 years I am considered to be. We can learn from each other."

Aeschia followed Malthazius and stood by while he took the sword. "Wow... so that is it? And I cannot touch it? Is that correct?" She asked.

"I am ready to go to Paris. I don't know how fast you can fly, but it only takes me... minutes really... you do not know some oddities about me, but we have to find somewhere for me to sleep... daylight is creeping upon us." Aeschia said. "If worse comes to worse, you can just help me dig a hole and bury me until nightfall, as much as that is not my favorite way to sleep.

"There is a Tremere house that would let me stay over night. They will trust me regarding you as well, even though you are a pyromancer. It is not far from here. Why do we not go there? Do not worry... they take my word.

"I am sure they will give you a bed and me a coffin. Does that sound OK? Then tonight we can head to Paris any way you would like. I prefer carriage when we get there. I also prefer to stay in a luxury suite." Aeschia said.

"Now before you refuse, you said you would listen to me. Brick number one will be smashed by staying in upper class accomodations. We can discuss anything you want while we are there. However, let me help you tear down your first brick Malthazius." She looked at him intently. "I never said it would be easy, and you may feel painful emotions that you have locked up for years. This is how you do it." Aeschia smiled. "I promise you I will be there for you and I promise it works. I've seen it work thousands of times.

Petruzzio unslung his rifle and slid it over onto his shoulder next to his pack. He lead Rameel through the town, looking for the nearest Tavern, to rest his horse and himself before he began his hunt. after a few minutes he found one with a stable, and quickly made his way over to it, he lead the horse through the gate and kicked the sleeping stable boy gently in the leg. He addressed the boy in german: "Boy watch my horse, and ill make sure you get a gold piece for your efforts, But i want him well cared for, and I expect to see him in fine condition in the morning." He reached into his purse and pulled out a single copper piece and flicked it at the boy, before heading towards the main door into the tavern.

He pushed the door open and was immediately assailed by the warmth and sound within. He stepped in, his armoured figure drawing quite a few glances, not to mention the vanbrace of stakes, and the Holy Cross on his helmet, as well as the prayers engraved into his chest piece. He pulled the door closed and made his way to the bar as he stood there he unbuckled his helmet and lay it gently on the surface, standing his rifle up against the bar. He looked the barman in the eyes he chucked two silver pieces on the bar, "A bottle of your finest red wine and two glasses, and of course the pleasure of your company at my table good sir."

"Yeah, to the House of the Tremere." Malthazius, put a hand on the hilt. He could feel tha heat, the righteousness, the good. He was tempted to try it out here and now, but he decided against it.

"If you insist upon wealthy lodgings, then fine, we can start there. I didn't sleep much today, so I could collapse on just about any bed at this point. I want you to understand that by going to this house, I am essentially at your mercy. So far, you have yet to be anything but honest. I just want you to know that this is the first time in my entire life that I have willingly placed myself into the hands of a Vampiress. Try to understand me if I appear to be a little uncomfortable, as I will be. I trust that they will honor you, but even the most loyal of subjects may one day find themselves bowing to a new prince."

OOC- Heh heh, sounds like "The Wall"

ooc: It IS from the wall... I told you we had to analyze the entire movie and what each song was a metaphor for regarding the things that Roger Waters went through in his life, and how it all affected him and built up this psychological wall around him. When King A mentioned "a wall around himself", I'm like w00t! I get to talk some Pink Floyd! I sooo knew you would notice it Breit! :D

"I understand your concerns Malthazius. If you fear anything happening, you do have the weaponry to fend off any of them. I do not believe that is what will happen. The Tremere are very order based and I happen to be at the top. The lodgings here will simply be a windowless room with a bed and coffin. Nothing fancy." Aeschia replied.

"When we get to Paris is when I would like to stay in luxury." She grinned.

"OK, follow me." They flew for a while until they reached an average three story home... quite large, but nothing extraordinary. The two of them landed. "Let me go in ahead of you, and stay by my side, Malthazius."

Aeschia opened the door to a parlor where the Tremere were just about to go to their sleeping quarters. As she stepped in the doorway, eyes went wide and everyone in the room stood.

"Lady Aeschia!" they bowed to her, or "My Lady"... a very formal reception.

A man came to her and kissed her on each cheek after bowing to her. "Hello Vincent." Aeschia smiled.

"To what do we owe the honor of your presence?" He asked.

"I and a friend of mine need a place to stay today while we are traveling."

Aeschia pulled Malthazius forward and the kindred in the room were in various states of shock. "Everyone, this is my very good friend Malthazius. We travel together. None of you is under any threat whatsoever from this man. In fact, he saved my life. Please, no one be suspicious of him or bother him. He is with me and not here to harm anyone. I would not be with him if that was the case." Aeschia smiled reassuringly to the Tremere.

With just a few words from Aeschia, they all relaxed and appeared relieved.

"May I please have a dark room... room enough for two for the day... whatever you have... single bed and coffin, double bed, whatever you may have available."

Vincent replied, "We only have one double bed left."

"That will be fine, please direct us to this room, dawn approaches."

Other kindred ran up, grabbed Aeschia’s bag, and carried it to their room.

"Thank you. There is one other matter... I must feed. I am lucky to have gotten here in time. Feeding from Kindred is so much better than from criminals."

A din broke out... arguing about who would feed Aeschia. This always happened.

Vincent offered and Aeschia accepted. "Malthazius, I shall meet you in the bedroom shortly. I must feed first." She smiled at him.

Vincent and Aeschia went into Vincent's room... "We must hurry... the sun..." Aeschia said.

Vincent could hardly wait to have Aeschia sink her fangs into him. Because she was first brood blood, the power and the intense erotica from drinking was far beyond that of almost all vampires.

He walked up to her, put his arms around her and bared his neck for her. Aeschia was so hungry, she spared no time sinking her teeth into him and drinking heartily. Vincent was moaning in ecstasy... having his warm blood being taken from Lady Aeschia was an honor, and different from any other kindred who drank from him. She could not allow him to drink from her, as that had another side effect, which was near unstoppable eroticism, which always ended in long periods of passionate lovemaking. She could usually stop someone from going that far, but some of the men were quite strong, and she ended up with a few long nights she did not intend.

When Aeschia finished drinking, she retracted her fangs. "I hope I have not left you too weak." She commented to Vincent.

He just looked at her dreamily, kissed her, and went to his bed in a dream state... beyond amazing sex.

As long as he was sleeping, she looked through his closet, grabbed a short silk robe, and changed into it. She was not about to sleep in battle gear.

Aeschia opened the door to her room. "I hope you do not mind sharing a bed Malthazius." She smirked at him. "Please stay with me as I sleep. I still feel safer with hunters around." Aeschia looked different after feeding... color to her cheeks, warmth. She just wanted to snuggle up to Malthazius and sleep.

"Remember no light at all! Perhaps you can get into bed with me and I can sleep next to you?" Aeschia was already falling asleep, she just felt better in Malthazius' arms.

Malthazius was impressed with the level of decor in the house. From the outside, it was plain, not shabby, but not imposing, well-kept and...plain. The insides were a different matter. Words could not describe what he saw. The house had the trappings of wealth everywhere, but always decorated with an eye for art. While Aeschia was feeding, Malthazius was shown to the spare room. He put his bag down, and took of his armor. He remarked casually to himself that it was a good thing he didn't sweat anymore. He went with leather trousers, and the clothes that his uncle had given him. The sword he placed in the closet, behind his bag.

When Aeschia walked in, Malthazius could immediately tell that she was feeling filled. He hugged her, as carried her over to the bed. "Not at all. I too am weary, and the room is dark enough so that I will still feel as if it were night." He lay down next to her. "A good day to you, my Lady. I shall be here when the sun sets." With that, he was asleep, the deep sleep of a soldier resting in safety.

Aeschia awoke in the middle of the day, just for a moment, and cuddled up to Malthazius, who was sleeping soundly.

Such a special man. I will help him smash his wall if it is the last thing I do. She mused.

Aeschia felt that she had found what was missing in her life, and that was Malthazius. She hoped his feelings for her were as strong as hers were for him.

She kissed him on the cheek, and rested her head on his muscular chest, falling back asleep almost immediately.

Malthazius awoke in the afternoon. He felt rejuvinated, rested, and ready. Taking a piece of paper available, he scrawled out a note:
Aeschia, went out to get some air. You'll find me just outside, on the back patio. As I said, I am and will be here for when you wake up.

Malthazius left the note on the nightstand. He had developed the ability to write legibly without looking long ago. He took the sword, and quietly headed downstairs, silently openign and closing each door along the way. The whole place had been darkened to the point of tolerance for sleeping vampires. Malthazius stole to the door, and there he exited through the double barrier erected to ensure that no light could spill in from the outside. Once outdoors, he headed down the street, and up a nearby hill. Finding a circular bench that ringed a small pond, Malthazius sat at the western point, and drew the sword. It was almost 4:00, so he had a few hours. He held the blade hilt up, towards the sun. It did nothing.

Malthazius began to pray. He still held the sword, but his mind was searching, seeking the conscious of the man that had sent him for this blade in the first place. "rebirth." It came as a whisper. "rebirth, of spirit and water, of body and fire." This time it was audible. Baptism. But Malthazius didn't understand what for? How does one baptise a blade. He took it to a small abbey nearby. It was tended by an elderly priest and newly instated deacon. The younger was present, and when asked, showed Malthazius to the baptismal font, a small pool in the back of the abbey. "Do you require Baptism sir? Are you a heathen that wishes to come to Christ and be born again."

"In a way." Malthazius moved to the font. He unsheathed his sword.

"Sir, I must ask you to please lower your weapon."

"Very well." Malthazius began to move it dwon, but then plunged it into the fountain.

"What have you done? You have desecrated the baptismal fountain. Leave at once, you foul beast." Malthazius ignored him. He drew his hand, and the sword, out. Concentrating on thoughts of fire, the blade at once burst into a blue and red flame. The deacon was speechless. Then he recovered. "That's the s...s...swo....swor...Sword of sa...s....s...Saint M...Michael. You b-bear s-Saint m-Michael's Blade. Wh-wh-who are y-y-you?"

Malthazius turned, finally listening to the deacon again. "My name is unimportant. Suffice it to say that Saint Michael is my patron, and he gave me a gift to assist me. I am a Catholic, and a Soldier for Christ. I take my leave of you now, brother. Peace be with you, since it will be long before it is with me." Malthazius walked back to the Tremere house, stopping at a field to practice with the sword. The years of using his hands had not lessened his skill. By the time he had returned, he was able to turn the fire on and off at will. He sheathed it, set it next to him, and sat down on a chair. The sun would set soon.

Aeschia woke at sundown. The Tremere house was just coming alive as the other kindred were also waking.

Aeschia found the note and went to get Malthazius. She did not know if they needed fighting clothes, or if she should wear a dress.

She said her hellos to everyone and went out on the porch.

"So what have you been up to today Malthazius?" She asked.

"Also, clothes... fighting or dress... as we are going to Paris tonight? Is that the plan? I kind of feel that I do not want to look like a shinobi when I go to register into a hotel, and such." She explained.

"Also, I am going to see if I can get a line on where these vampires are... the ones you are searching for. What were there names again?" She asked.

"I want to get to our destination so we can have a nice leisurely evening and talk. You know we have a lot of that to do." Aeschia smiled at Malthazius.

"So, fly or walk, I would think fly, and dress clothes, get there and get a great hotel and a carriage. This is part of your catharsis remember.

"I was merely getting some air. Thanks for bringing me here. I must say that that was one of the best day's sleep that I have ever had.

"As to clothes, why not we just spend the night as well-dressed tourists. We can enjoy Paris, sample some French wine, look at the art with the snobby curators, and leave tomorrow night instead. I am already dressed for such an occasion, and you appear to be also.

"As for the names, Krastatros is the vampire that we're after, but any mortal enemy of his is who we need to find first.

"As for the blade, I unlocked its power." Malthazius held the sword, still in its sheath, to Aeschia, hilt facing her. "I don't know if it will kill you, hurt you, or let you wield it. You aren't affected by Holy Objects, but this was forged for and by an angel. Try the hilt, if you desire. I know that I can't control you, nor tell you what to do."
