Rebirth of the Imperium!

The Island States

"Good afternoon, citizens of the ISK," The Imperatrix began her mid-afternoon address prior to her more important evening address. "It is with great pride that I announce to you now that as of 02:02 this afternoon, the Independent Steward Kingdom is hereby dissolved. In its place, a reborn Imperium of New Haven, with a new constitution! Effectively, the Constitution of the First Year Post-Occupation grants me the absolute authority to run the nation and to appoint my heir, princes, princesses, generals, judges and governors. It gives me the sole right to approve treaties and laws. The people shall retain their rights, as well as their ability to call for referendums of important decisions."

"By this evening, I will have reviewed all treaties and alliances we are involved in and come to a conclusion as to their continued validity. We welcome allies and neutral nations to establish embassies and restore diplomatic contact with us. Thank you, and may the Gods be with us."

Official Response of the United States Government

We approve fully of, and support, the decision of the ISK to regain what rightfully belongs to it, and to it alone – it's national self-determination. It is long past time that the ISK did this or something like this. We would also like to use this opportunity to note that as long as the ISK's FMS program with Allanea continues, we will continue diverting orders to factories based in ISK territory, and as of now we have 20 Porcupine Mark II Mod B cruisers under constuction using the funds of last year's FMS funds. With this year's funds, we will be funding 10 Athlas-class ships and a single Management Buyout Mark I Mod B. We will continue doing so as long as the FMS program is made available to us.

About time you did that. Throw off the yoke of oppression and all that. Glory glory halleleujah, Lenin Lives, The Star Spangled Banner and so on, and so on, and so forth.

You won't last five minutes. But I applaud the attempt.
