The Draggonnii Inviyatii Selection Committee is pleased to announce it has now completed the initial list of official invites for it’s 3rd edition tournament. The past two tournaments have been rather successful and we are excited about the prospects this third event will offer.

This edition’s field of quality nations to invite offered a wide variety of talent and styles. The choices were not easy to make. All of the nations on this initial invite list should feel very proud about the jobs that they are doing during their World Cup Qualification efforts.

The 1st Edition DI welcomed 16 nations to ASMV for competition - and the result was a brilliant tournament. The 2nd Edition DI expanded to include 8 more nations, but haste in the pool set up resulted in a less than perfect atmosphere. Rumors abounded that we would return to the 16 squad format. But after further consideration, the committee has decided to keep the participant number at 24. It is the group structure that will be changed.

24 squads will be drawn into 4 groups of 6. Each nation will play each other nation in their grouping once for a total of 5 matches. Bracket play will remain as the 2nd edition with the top two sides moving into the Championship Bracket, the middle two sides moving into the Intermediate Bracket, and the bottom two sides falling to the Consolation Bracket.

In a moment we will unveil the list of initial invites to the Draggonnii Inviyatii 3rd Edition. Each nation on the list will have one week to accept their invitation. After one week’s time, any unconfirmed invites will be considered declined and 3 days will be allotted for other nations to make an offer as to why they should be included. After that time the final list of nations participating shall be made available and a group draw made shortly thereafter.

Now for the initial list of nations invited to send their squads to the Draggonnii Inviyatii. These nations, with a few exceptions, had outstanding media coverage during the WC28 qualification tournament.

2 Krytenia - 2nd Edition Runners-up. Final 4 exemption
3 Starblaydia - Two-time defending (and only) 3rd place DI squad. Final 4 exemption.
4 Tadjikistan - 2nd and 4th place finishers. Tied for 5th in media publications.
5 Wentland - 1st in media publications
6 Qazox - 2nd in media publications
7 Dorian and Sonya - tied for 3rd in media publications
8 Tynelia - tied for 3rd in media publications
9 Giant Zucchini - tied for 5th in media publications
10 Schiavonia - tied for 5th in media publications
11 ASMV - tied for 5th in media publications
12 Jeruselem - tied for 5th in media publications
13 Cuation - tied for 10th in media publications
14 Mr Chuck Norris - tied for 10th in media publications
15 Raging Penguins - tied for 10th in media publications
16 Geisenfried - tied for 13th in media publications
17 Cataduanes - tied for 13th in media publications
18 Lisburn Mateys - tied for 13th in media publications

we are aware of 26 nations being on the invite list of a 24 nation event. The chances of all invites accepting has been shown in the past to be rather slim. if all nations do accept, ASMV and Hypocria will be withdrawn from the list.

Note: With two official declinations, ASMV and Hypocria will both be in the Inviyatii

Milchama signs up and hopes to not get a group of death this time.

The Black Oxen will be back to defend their 10th place finish of a year ago.

The Mystical Unicorns graciously accept their invitation.

The Tadjik Tigers accept the invitation and hope their boss is more active this time

The Rouge-et-Noirs will be present, and will try to do a bit better than usual.

Cuation gladly accept the invite and can only hope we do better then we have before.

Tynelia hopes to improve on a dismal initial DI attempt last time where we finished 20th.

Sarzonia wishes to sign up to defend its two DI trophies and hopefully get a third.

The Haraki Hawks will accept this invitation for the second year in a row.

The Starblaydi Football Association will again send a squad to the Draggonnii Inviyatii.

Despite coming 1st in media publications, Wentland managed to finish 2 places below its seeding in WC28 qualifying. It therefore has a point to prove and wishes to participate in the ASMV Dragon Cup...

The Monastic Football Association accept the invitation, while noting that this is a tournament that we traditionally do very poorly in.

Clearly the Lord wishes to make sure we don't get too cocky.

Jeruselem accepts the invitation although don't expect the full World Cup 28 team to turn up as club commitments will hit the team. Expect the U21 team in reality.

"Schiavonia sadly decline the offer of coming to the tournament this time, around as their manager Rodney Lowe can't spell it. Plus the SFF are going to have another crack at holding a FIFA Cup of Nations. And a Cup of Harmony. And a World Cup hosting bid. All this admin is just a way of diverting away from the fact that the Sloths are, all in all, pretty damn hopeless.

Although I would love to participate in your tourney, I'm afraid I am forced to defer in an attempt to free up some of my time to accommodate my busy schedule. I apologize and hope you can find someone to fill my place.

Hey there everybody. Just under 22 hours remain in the initial acceptance phase. That will draw to a close at 12pm CT Monday night.

18 of the initial invites have accepted. Two have declined. And 6 have not responded. Those 6 are Spaam, Rordia, Cataduanes, Raging Penguins, Giant Zucchini, and Krytenia.

6 nations are needed to fill the field of 24. The squads listed above will be included if they respond before the deadline. I will now go ahead and open the door for other nations to place their desire to enter the 3rd Draggonnii Inviyatii. Simply let me know why you feel your squad should be included.

The open signups will run until thursday night. And the announcement of nations included and the draw made shortly thereafter.

Why because you know how I RP and it was only the fact that my net went spazo for the near entire duration of the qualifiers that I only managed 4 RPs

Ok. I will end the signups here. Bazalonia and The Islands of Qutar will be included. (I might have to blow up AR if they came back). That gives us 20 teams entered. That will make 4 groups of 5. Bracket placement will remain the same after the group stage, with only the bottm side from each group falling to the bottom bracket. The first day of bracket play for those four teams will be held as friendly matches with VFL clubs to make up the one match they would miss otherwise.
