Atlantian Outcasts

Posidopolis, Cirrus, Dopa System
Atlantia took a deep breath of cold fresh air as she stood on one of the Senate building’s many balconies, overlooking the capital city of Posidopolis. On the horizon, she could see a sunrise beginning to take form…morning was here. The cool night breeze blew her long, silver hair and dress robes back, gently shaking.
“Empress…” she muttered to herself warmly. “Empress of Atlantis”
It was true. Less then twelve hours ago, she had been coranated Empress of the entire Atlantian…well, Federation now. About a week ago, it had still been Ascendency. About a week ago, Atlantis had still been embroiled in its worst conflict ever of the modern day. Even the Demon war hadn’t killed as many Atlantians as the last civil war had.
She of course, wasn’t a full Empress…the Federation had created a constitutional monarchy, as the senate was still there. She was there to make sure the Senate did their jobs right, and didn’t invoke another crisis. Right now it was only being headed by a few people of the old senate…but elections would begin within the week.
A month ago, who would have ever believed she was going to be Empress? Well, once she had approached Senator Andromada with the idea of a monarchy, she knew it would be here. Unknownst to most of the crew of the Olympia at that time, she had been royalty in her past life; before the Zoir invaded and she was forced to go into stasis. She almost didn’t get the position…but she had her ways of persuasion.
By now, the tip of the sun had peaked over the mountains and was now casting the first few direct rays of golden sunlight on the senate building. Down below, it had reached the rooftops of many of the taller buildings in the city.
She smiled. The city was a wreck…many buildings bombed out, huge craters where neighborhoods once stood…but yet, people where still getting ready to go about their day. The trams had begun their morning routes, and some of the office buildings where becoming more active. More personal vehicles where seen zipping about, both on ground level and in the sky. She surmised it was much the same as anywhere in the Federation. Destroyed, but still breathing and determined to live.
Atlantia and the Senate had several big hurtles to overcome in the near future. There where still a few roaming bands of Ascendancy forces moving about on the outskirts of Federation space, despite the signing of the treaty that had ended the war. There was the reconstruction that had to take place. There was time for grieving for the 200 million dead people of Druoda…a planet that had been completely stripped of all life by the use of the Morning Star. There was also the threat of invasion. Atlantis’s remaining fleets where at half strength…they couldn’t survive another war…they had to be rebuilt, and fast.
And then there where the tough problems. There where still a shortage of the third gender, thanks to the genocidal actions of the old senate. And the drug meant to replace them had turned into a lethal highly contagious STD that was killing thousands and had infected millions. It had to be stopped somehow.
The sun was halfway over the mountain peak now.
Atlantia pondered marrying. Getting an Emperor. But she dismissed the thought quickly…she wasn’t interested in anyone at the time, and did not wish to give up her new powers just yet.
Her pager beeped. Looking at it, she saw Admiral Vega needed her. Sighing, she turned and left, leaving the sunrise be as it dawned over a new era.

So here I am. Three years. Three LOOOOOOONG years ;)
No, seriously…it’s been fun (at times). I’m tempted to do a nostalgic look back on the past here, but I think that would be too generic. I’ll just leave you with the knowledge that I’m bigger then about 4/5ths of you people. NYAH.
But yeah, I decided to end the civil war and just skip ahead, it was wasting my time and energy. But now, I dunno what I’ll do. The idea I had planned kinda fell apart. Meh. *shrug* If anyone has anything going on RP wise that's space...and is actually good, go ahead and link me...I might just join.

THREE FREAKING YEARS.
