The Hidden Realm requests a Grand Council ( attention HR'ers and interested others )

The Hidden Realm is a world of majick, of the mystical, and the mysterious. It can be found as far away as your imagination can take you or as close a the garden beside your kitchen stoop. The Fae, mostly unseen and unknown, live not only in their Hidden Realm, but among you. Chivalary, Honour, Courage, Courtesy are Waystars, but there are also found the darkest of sorceries, danger, deciet and the Looming Dark...
"We, the Fae Folk, as the founder of this distant realm, do ask all nations and peoples who acknowledge us, do conviene a Grand Counil to welcome all Ambasasadors, Representatives, Diplomats, Fellow Travelers."
"Come take the road less travelled and find yourself in a world that most have forgotten, or never knew." Aurora, the Princess Royal, whispered the words to the breeeze and obediently those words were wafted to the ears that would hear them, heed them, and find that road.
Taking one last deep breath, gloriously laden with the scents of the lush palace gardens, Aurora turned and looked at her Demoiselles as they awaited to begin the final preperations for the visitors the City of the Fae (http://www.faefolk.info/faehome.jpg) would soon have. The fact that most of their visitors would be far taller than most of the Fae - save for the Sidhe - made the necessary arrangements only minorly more difficult. The Fae Folk may have only stood an average height of seven inches, but the potent Fae Majick was their most useful tool, and no effort had been spared to make the city a virtual paradise.
However Princess Aurora knew well that her home had it more than it's share of dark corners and dangers, and that is why she turned to her Minister of Protection first.

The towering sidhe, he stood well into six foot, looked at his leige lady and began his briefing. "I have let it be known to all of those we know to be troublesome that they are to confine their activities to our own folk. And that if the City's Guarda catches them causeing any sort of mischief, the executioner awaits." He spoke sternly. Many of the races of the Fae were not of intrinsic good nature, and some were even worse. The reality of the stuff warned agains in human children's fairy tales.
Aurora winced a little at his strict measures, but she knew her people well. A Jack-in Irons, a goblin,a Troll, or a Red Cap and many other races were not something most humans were prepared to deal with. And none of those would let the slip chance to 'score' against one of the race that had driven into hiding- and worse yet killed off- the vast majority of the Fae kind. But humans just didn't believe in us, did know what they were doing to us. So blind to the world about them Aurora thought sadly as she placed the Royal Seal on the paperwork the Sidhe slid before her, authorizing the added personell to the Garda, and another to authorize an increase to the Palace guards as well.
The plans for the various banquets, routs, ball's, tea's, picnicks and more all met with her approval as well, and were considerably more to her taste than talk of defense, security and criminals. Once the tedious parts of governmental work had been dealth with Aurora had her flying mount - a fierce tempered white Gyrfalcon- sent for. She wanted a final look from an aerial perspective of the vast bowl shaped valled that held her capitol city, Eternalia
A young man was meditating when he heard a strange, almost whispered message. He looked up as he attempted to trace the message before going back to his meditation. A short time later, an additional section of the message passed through his ears.
With a slight frown he stood, his long pale purple hair swishing forward onto his face. Brushing the hair back out of his pale grey-green eyes he headed up to his library.
Finding the text he wished, he began leafing through it. "Ah, there it is." He commented to himself as he found the section he wished. Leaving the book open, he headed to the storeroom and began looking through the vials and jars. "Rat's, need to pick up some." He muttered as the jar he was looking for turned out to be empty.
Picking up a top hat, and flicking a black cloak around his shoulders he headed into town. Returning some hours later with his purchases, he returned to his book. Heading to a third room in his ramshackled home, he lit a fire and tossed in a double handful of his purchase before quickly leaving the room.
As the room filled with smoke, he packed the things he'd need in a carpetbag, and slid a oddly shaped dagger into a sheath at his waist. Returning to the now smoke filled room, he took one look around before stepping through. The ritual, if everything worked the way it was suppose to, would deposit him somewhere, somewhere that was immediately dangerous, within fifty miles of the originator of the message.

There were only a chosen handfull of places tht the Realm itself, in is slow moving, semisentient fashion would allow vivitors to arive unannounced, and the most used location was at the Great Overlook. There was scarce room mor more than a handfull of human sized individuals to arrive with any safety. Materializing several thousand feet above solid ground amidst the clouds was not simply often not reacted to quickly enough by those for whom flight was not first nature.
But for those who came in peace it provided a spectacular view of the valley that ringed the City of the Spire, Eternalia (http://www.faefolk.info/faehome.jpg). The valley was ringed with peaks so high that many wore glistening caps of pristine snow, even when the valley droused in the Lion of Summer's fiercest heat. Over a hundred miles across, too far a distance to be seen as more than a smudge, majic shimmered at Great Overlook, allowing all to see with as great a clarity as they chose.
And Fae dwelt there too, those of the air, to welcome arrivals as they deemed appropriate.
Albereth found himself tottering on the edge of a rather high cliff. As he quickly stepped back onto safer ground, he mentally cursed while muttering, "Next time, triple check the translation."
Looking out from his perch, he noticed a large valley with a huge city in it. As he took in the lushiousness of the valley. Looking about, he found himself upon what might be best described as a look out. He also noticed some of the 'little' people and heard one speak.
He grimaced slightly, the language was musically enought, but unfortunately he could understand not a lick of it. In a sociable voice he asked, "Does anyone speak a common tongue?"

Morkinburg (Tower of High Arcania )
The Lord High Arch Magi of the Arcane Order Crostinio Nashinar (http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c309/Xharnia/TheLordHighArchMagiusCrostinio.jpg) the most powerful wizard in the Realm of Hansia was one of the first in the Kingdom of Hansia to receive the magical invitation. The nature of this Fae magic intrigued him. This kind of magical ability was something ancient and old even older than the magic that now was commonly used by the Arcane magic users of the Hansian Realm.
The Lord High Arch Magi summoned the other Arch Magi's before him to discuss the situation and to give the best advice to guide the High King of the Realm. The various Arch Magi began to use their specific Order symbols on their cloaks. These enchanted charms were able to teleport them from their various locations to the Ancient and Magical Tower. They had all received the message and wanted to respond however, The fear of going against the High King and Lord High Arch Magi had kept them from trying. They knew that such magic was not something commonly used by Hansian Magic users and that it had to be sought out and dealt with. It was after all, the Order's entire job to enforce their control over Arcane Magic use within Hansia.
The first to appear was the Lich and the fore most expert of Necromancy within Hansia, The dreaded Arch Magi's of the dark art of Necromancy Worfan the Lichen (http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c309/Xharnia/ArchMagiusofNecromancyWorfanLichen.jpg). The undead wizard was someone that all creatures within Hansia feared. His power in the dark arts was legendary and many within the Kingdom would have killed him. If it was not for his powerful influence within the Order and his massive army of the undead in his home at the dark lands of Kirator.
The Lich bowed before his superior and humbly said, "High Master of the Arcane art, I the Arch Magi of Necromancy come to pay my humble respects and take my proper place on the Arcane Council."
The Lord High Arch Magi smiled and said, "I allow you to take your place, I hope your skills are ready for the task of deciding on what to do about this mysterious message."
The Arch Magi Worfan replied in the traditional manner, "I will add my King and my people no matter the cost!"
The Lord High Arch Magi bowed and took his place in the center of the central area of the chamber. The other members were coming and going through the same greeting process until the entirety of the Order's standard protocol was satisfied. The Arcane Council then discussed the issue and a after several hours they finally agreed on a universal strategy to send an mid-ranking Magi to investigate this mysterious message.
The High King Azaire I, was notified of the Council's decision on the matter. Normally, the Kingdom would have sent a court ambassador to deal with the foreign nation. The fear of this foreign and uncontrolled magic forced the Arcane Order to take more conservative measures to ensure the safety of the diplomat. The High King eagerly agreed to allow the wizards to handle this matter.
High King Azaire was personally afraid of such dangerous and unknown magic, which was why he agreed to founding of the Arcane Order to protect his people from the reckless and dangerous use of such magic…
The Lord High Arch Magi prepared to send a messenger of his own a Magi of the name Basin Dolando, a fairly young wizard yet one with great experience in journeying during his early mage years. The young wizard had been serving in the Royal Hansian Army against the Ogres and the Orcs during the northern campaigns in the mountainous areas of Galidor. He was now fairly retired working as a studying mage seeking to increase his knowledge of spells both ordinary and rare. This kind of assignment would be an experience of a lifetime for this young pup thought Lord High Arch Magi Crostinio.
Two Days Later………..
Magi Basin had been preparing for his task he had taken his spell components and other traveling materials. Basin had also taken his trusty staff of striking along with several spell books. The journey would be difficult, thanks to how crude the initial message had been to find. Basin hoped that he could find the source of this mysterious power. The chance to meet creatures of such power was tempting for the young ambitious mage..
Basin using the knowledge given to him by his superiors in the Arcane Order focused on his knowledge of the magical message and tried to teleport to the location of the origin of said mystical message that had awaken the Arcane Order's authoritative attention …

I''m not certain, I thought that Gondor backed up to a mountain, where as this seems to be built atop a granite upthrust, or 'volcanic plug' dome.
"Does anyone speak a common tongue?" the new arrival asked.
'Oh why yes! Of course, of course, forgive our rustication." The hovering fae slipped into the human language easily. "She who will be the May Queen did leave us a message to be expecting visitors, but so soon? Amazing my good sir. Now how can I be of service to thee?" His dragon fly wings were a blurr as he hovered at about the new arrival's shoulder height. He smiled as he took in the pale violet hair and the grey green eyes perhaps this one has more than just a touch of the Fae about him, and will find another foundling come home again he thought to himself.

Before he had the visitors request, there was the sparkle of magic and another human man- a magi by the 'feel' of him appeared- at the Great Over Look.
"Oh dear me!" and with a wave of one tiny hand the Great Overlook was much larger. "Two and so soon! My good sirs her Highness will be so pleased. I am Brim, Brim fullof Cheer." He introduced himself to the two men "I'll be glad to escort you both down."

OOC: That's the Ted Nasmith version of Tolkien's elven city of Gondolin. Gondolin's a much older city, in the Silmarillion. It's mentioned a few times in Lord of the Rings though, most notably, Sting was forged there. Gondolin was overrun and destroyed by the Dark Lord Morgoth fairly late in the Silmarillion. Anyway... IC response coming.
"Oh completely." Albereth replied as he took in the hovering fae who was flitting around him at shoulder height. As he was about to continue and ask for a way down, another appeared with a 'poof'.
Reaching out to catch the new arrival, the platform they were standing on suddenly expanded. "That's convienent." He thought as fae introduced himself. "Thank you Brim fullof Cheer, and I would be grateful for help down. My name is Albereth, and truth to tell, I have a bit of a thing about heights." He admitted

The World of Duat
Airaheri didn’t use titles such as archmage, supreme sorceress, or any such things. Though she was capable of many, many things she did not care to enumerate them with a title. As ‘magic advisor,’ an unofficial title, to the Elenaran, she used much of her resources to gain a certain privacy from the outside world. Airaheri was difficult to contact and spent much of her time cloistered in her tower (she had a love of clichés) working on strange projects and analyses of foreign magics. Her speciality was in taking strange new things and making counters and wardings against them.
And so, messages received were passed on to her, and she barely gave them a second thought. However, as there was a tag on the note that accompanied the message transcription, said that some sub-committee or other had deemed an acceptance of the invitation necessary, and so she delegated the task. That was, after all, what apprentices and other minions were for, or at least, what they were useful for.
Standing a few inches shy of six foot, Golloriell, Airaheri’s foremost current “apprentice” was one of those relative few who had any experience of such things as Sidhe and the ‘less glamorous’ fae, from the recent time, past now, when they had existed at large in the world.
The dark haired elf-maid had been forced to travel to earth before departing for her destination, as such weak places in the veil of reality on Duat had been carefully monitored and manipulated to let nothing through – a matter of security, throughout the planet lesser magics were much easier, but greater ones difficult, and summoning, or ‘interplanar’ travel, effectively impossible.
The grey-cloaked elf’s route took her through the back-woods of one of Menelmacar’s larger parks, and from there, on to the Great Over Look. Her first words? “Anserca Angamando…” for it was a very familiar looking city, both in actual look and in style, but she dismissed it after a moment. It also appeared that she was in midair, and she quickly, without thinking too hard on the matter, whispering something else under her breath, in yet another language, changed her form completely (something that had always puzzled Airaheri was the penchant of her students for skin-changing. She felt it best not to inquire why they were invariably so interested in that), garments and other possessions disappearing as she assumed the guise of a diminutive bird, a starling. Seeing that she was actually in little danger of falling, she folded her wings and changed back, seeming a little embarrassed, then she looked around instead, to examine her neighbours.
Basin said in a very civil tone, "I am Magi Basin Dolando, I have been ordered by my superiors in the Arcane Order to investigate the strange message that has haunted several members of both the Order and the Hansian Nobility. I have also been given the authority to represent the Hansian realm."
Basin then looked at the people that gathered around. He had to admit the man who had come also appeared shortly before him seemed a little odd and probably would have been waylaid by the Order's Rogue Hunters if he had come into the Hansian realm. The Fae however seemed to be an impressive people with their intresting ability to change the size of the Great Overlook by a wave of a hand. That was indeed impressive to the young Magi.
Basin also noticed the Elf that had just flown in and changed from bird to humanoid in front of him and the others. Basin silently thought to himself, "Well that's one way to get here."

"Greetings Albereth Feet-Firmly-on-the-Ground. " Brim had barely replied when another ripple of non Fae majic washed over the three. Momentarily a dark haired elfmaid, a Sidhe, in a gray cloak appeared, shimmered into the guise of a starling, then changed back again.
"My Lady" Brim bowed deeply the Sidhe maid, politely ignoring her momentary look of embarassment. "This is quite delightful, please forgive the limited room. "
He turned to the mountain's great bulk that loomed even higher, it's tip lost in a swirl of cloud. "Mother may I have more room here and the door way down?"
The Mountain seemed to think it over for a long slow moment. Time to the world is not the same as it is to the bright lights that dwelt there, but Mother here was more awake than in most places. With, for her, startling swiftness the outthrust grew, expanded to provide space for fully a score of human sized folk.An arched opening apeared in the stone behind, from which light and warn air flooded the shaded Great Overlook. The fiantest of termmors, and a soft rumble of massive granite bones shifting as Mother returned to her Dreaming.
"If you wish to proceed apace, and take in the views of our realm afoot there will be guides available, or if you prefer I can summon a swan boat to take you to the city." He looked at the three and blushed as his eyes fell once again upon the dark haired Sidhe maid.
"Forgive me Lady, I am Brim fullof Cheer, and this is Albereth." He nodded toward the first arrival as he introduced him, a young man with pale violet hair and grey green eyes.
"My apologies also young sir, " He looked at the second to arrive, a young mage who carried a staff of majical nature. "I forgot to ask thine name."

The elf smiled a little. In truth, she wasn’t a Sidhe, just similar to one in many respects. Though her species did accumulate similar traits with age, they were somewhat closer to humans in many respects. And, flattering though the evident respect was, she’d rather be respected for herself than for a mistake of identity, and it would save clearing up later.
“I thank you for your hospitality Brim,” she smiled a little at the name, “though I suspect I am not quite what you take me to be,” she introduced herself by her accustomed name and several others, and added, “I have no preference. Is there much more to be seen by walking?”

OOC: my apologies, Hansia, we appreantly were posting at the same time.
"Oh I doubly beg pardon, Magi Basin Dolando, my hearing is not what it once was, especially when I concentrate on several things at once." Brim's smile was deeply apologetic.
"You are most welcom m'lady Golloriell. The difference is purely in the perspective. A foot you can see the valley more intimately, but it does take more time. A swan boat will glide you to the city faster than afoor and allow one to see more of an overview." A gust of chill air, for it was but the earliest of spring and late in the after noon, swept about the group and buffeted the hovering Fae about. "Though perhaps a swan boat might be adviseable, with the evening's chill coming, you could be a the Palace before sunset. Though there is the Inn at the End of the Road at the base of the Mountain, where warm rooms and cheer await as well."
Pixies such as he,hibernated through the winter months, their high maintence metabolisms unable to with stand the short hours of day light and cold. The Fairy's fared better than they in winter and hibernated only in old age. The dying of the sun and the warmth it brought was making him long for the indoors. Though he wouldn't say a thing to the newly arrived guests, he had been given a serious charge to carry out and he was loathe to fail in any way.
Albereth listened to Brim fullof Cheer extolling the two measures of travel. "Hello my two fellow arrivals Golloriell, Basin Dolando." He said by way of introduction to the elven girl and the magi.
"I will be guided by you and my companions for travel as both methods, I am certain are equal save thier differences." He said as he reached up to brush an errant lock of his hair back out of his face.
OOC: I figured that, I decided just to let Basin repeat his message…

Basin was a cautious and silent, unusual traits for one of his kind. The young Magi replied in a gentle voice, "I understand that age does have an effect on many a persons hearing. I would never hold that fact against someone."
Basin then turned to Albereth and said, "I personally do not mind how we travel. I just would like a minute to collect my thoughts. Teleporting is not something, I like doing but it does save time rather taking a long walking journey."

Alrik's mind raced with a jumbled mess of thoughts at his new assignment. He remebered so vividly recieving the summons in the night, having been awoken in the middle of the night by the rumbling of the all-fathers voice calling to him and him alone.
He remembered how he had shook with excitement as he had dressed hurriedly, the growling voice telling him to forget his ceremonial garb and to get to the temple immediately. having thrown on a simple robe, he had run through town without as much as closing his door, quickly scrambling up the steps to the temple, the doors open as always, the solitary guard giving him a nod as he entered, knowing the youngling had been summoned. His bare feet slapped against the cold stone floor, echoing sharply off the distant marbled walls as he ran to the gran hall, looking over the edge of the balcony down at the head of his peoples greatest work.. the massive head of the All-father statue. He began the long walk down to the statues base, the winding balcony wrapping around the body of the gargantuan statue.
The balcony seemed to go on forever as it wrapped the body of the statue again and again, the entire cavern, the statue, and the balcony having been carved out of the body of the very mountain itself. As he descended, he shook with a nervous excitement.. to be called upon by the allfather could only mean one thing.. he was to recieve his awakening, a sort of coming of age ceremony for his people.
Finally, he found himself at the base of the winding balcony, stepping onto the wide platform at the statues base, hands at his sides as he sunk slowly to his knees, arms remaining stiff as I bent forward to touch his head to the stone as he began to pray.
The rest of the night was little more than a grey blur, as the first transformation always was for the allfathers children.. it was a further gift, for the first transformation was said to be horribly painful. The allfather had granted him an additional honor that night, appointing him to carry the knowledge of his people to a conference of kingdoms. His people rarely crossed the dark peaks the lined the edge of their lands, so rarely infact that few other races knew they existed. The allfather had decided it was time for that to change, and it was time for his people to re-establish centuries severed contacts.
He banked softly with the wind as his destination came within sight, tucking his wings in slightly as he went into a quick dive, descending towards a open balcony. Unable to reists, he tucked his wings in tight around his body and went into a torpedo-like barrel roll, rocketing towards the balcony at an alarming speed. At the last possible second, his wings spread wide as he caught the invisible updraft at the ledge, grinding his momentum to a halt as his heavy clawed feet touch the stone with a faint clacking. he furled his wings as he scanned the immediate area for any people, his hand instinctively hovering near the ceremonial sword strapped to his waist, the blade would easily have been two handed to most creatures, but his bulk made it appear as little more than a shortsword. Sensing no immediate threat, his form began to shrink to a easier to more 6 and half feet, though his mixed face of dragoconic and human features was still highly intimidating to any who would gaze upon it.

Brim nodded enthusiastically and darted over to a small circular gong that hung on thick silken ropes between two obsidian pillars growing from the mountain. He picked up a hammer sized for one of his stature and struck the bronze disc firmly. The sound that resonated could be felt to the depths of ones bones as it rolled out across the valley.
"If you would, you are most certainly welcome to wait in the warmth within." The pixie gestured to the open arcway and the amber lit grotto it led to. "My apologies but it will take a hand of moments for the Swan ship to arrive."
As the small group took shelter from the quickly chilling night air Brim kept up an informative flow of small talk about what they could expect to find at the Fae Court.
"Oh the Princess Royal doesn't stand on much ceremony, greatly to the distress of many. They had become very accustomed to such under her grandmother, the Winter Queen. And then the Throne was empty for so long, nearly a full century, with no court held at all. Some were nearly frantic to have anyone found to fill the Throne, suitable or not. But I think Aurora will make an excellent May Queen. " He declared judiciously, rocking back and forth on his heels as he stood on the ledge he'd claimed to put himself at eye level for his guests.
""She is determined for us to gain some place in the wider world. No invasion, or anything war-like. Though some of the Sidhe always like a good war, especially against humans." He said sourly. For the smaller races of the Fae war was not a glorious challenge, as many of the Sidhe saw it, but destruction of the world they depended upon for survival. A blighted, blasted land was not for them. "No, she is determined to use diplomacy, and alliances. She hasn't said so opnely but it is the general thought that she will even propose marriages to ensure strong bonds between those nations willing to treat with us."
Before he could speak further there was a melodic run of notes from a golden horn. "Ah our ship has come in!" He chuckled, and led them forth to where a Swan ship of gold, frosted crystal, and touches of silver veined lapis (http://www.faefolk.info/swan.jpg) was settling delicately at the edge of the Great Overlook. The gracefully arched neck and head turned fluidly, the ship lowering a wing to allow the passengers admitance. In the fore, just behind the neck, a trio of musician's awaited their newly arrived guests. The back of the ship was a u shaped couch thickly padded both seat and back, covered with deepest blue velvet. It would hold a dozen comfortably.
The tiny musicians arose and bowed deeply, the leader speaking in a rich, well trained voice. "Pray be welcom to the Realm of the Fae. Princess Royal Aurora bids thee welcome and to enjoy the flight to the palace, where she awaits to greet thee in person. Do not worry, honoured guests, over the evening's chill and the bite of wind, for when our ship takes flight thee will find thyself warm and safe."
Brim bowed the trio aboard, joining them. The wing lifted and the neck turned back so the Swan ship could see foreward. A shimmering but completely transparent globe sprang into being about the center, keeping the cool out but allowing for perfect viewing out. The musicians struck up a soft backgound aire, nothing that would inhibit conversation, but adding to the majical mood of the ride. The moon arose from behind the mountains, seemingly to light a path as the Swan ship glided about and headed for the palace that occupied the highest spires of the city that lay gleaming in the moons early light.

"Wheeeee!" a cry of delight carried on cool air came to Alrik's ears as a wing folded shape plumeted down from the sky's heights, much as he himself had. Then there was the ripped silk of air shrilling past strong wings unfurled for hard brakeing, to bounce just a little, then alite on the balconies railing.
"That is so much fun isn't it!" The Gyrfalcon's rider cried in a laughing voice. "Greetings unto thee my lord dragonne! Be welcome to my Realm."
Aurora, her hair floating behind her, wild from the fast ride, jumped from the white Gyrfalcon's saddle and curtsied to the very tall and firece looking being that had landed just before her on the palace's uppermost balcony.
As the gong was struck and resonated, Albereth began rubbing his arms. The sonic vibrations were causing the hair on his arms to stand on end. As Brin fullof Cheer talked and guided them inside, he lifted his hand to interrupt.
When Brin paused when the boat arrived, he looked at in and said to the boat, "Hello and thank you for conveying us to the city." After greeting the boat, he nodded and thanked the musicians for thier greeting and providing the ride.
Once they were all seated, he asked Brim, "What's the difference between May and Winter queen?"

"Greetings to you, and those of your home. I am at your service." As he spoke, he went into a low, sweeping bow, his wingtips brushing lightly along the polished stone at his feet. "I am Alrik Shadowstar, servant of the Allfather and chosen representative of my peoples."

I am Aurora Khalida du Fae (http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g188/faefolk/aurora1.gif)." She was dressed in a sprightly riding costume, and shivered slightly as chill night air swept in. Quickly she dismissed the Gyrfalcon after gently scratching it's throat for a moment, the fierce predator quiet beneath her gentle touch.
"Please Alrik, would you accompany me within. I do not much care for the cold and since the lion has set beyond the world rim the days warnth fades quickly this early in the spring."
She let him within, this was the Obesrvatory with it's crystal dome of a roof. "Would you care for rooms with a balcony?" We have many and you are welcome to chose from among the suites. I felt majick at the Grand Overlook, and I would hazard a guess that more representatives have arrived."
The stairs down curved around the inner wall of the spire for siome distance before they let out on another level. There were crystal domed walkways spaning the distance between the various spires. The eight spires were laid out in a circle, a compass rose, about the central spire. "My rooms are in the east, Air of Air Spire. Those in the northern spire are closed until a Winter Queen reigns again, but all the other spires are available. There are two suites per level. Perhaps the top level of the Fire, or the top level of Air of Fire?" She offered Alrik.

What's the difference between May and Winter queen?"
Brim nodded at the astute question. "Each queen represents the dominant power during their reign. The Winter Queen is Earth of Earth, Earth in it's most solid form, almost asleep, dormant, gathering itself for the hope for renewal to come. And Winter can be cold and cruel, that is natures way, and She who was Winter Queen was often that way. The May Queen, is the Vernal Queen, she who brings warn winds to awaken life, the greening of the land, and the freshness of a spring breeze. Her weapons are words, and thoughts, but heed me, she can fight with as much savagery as any, though it is not foremost in her nature."
Brim sat silent for a moment, giving the representatives time to digest his comments.
"The Queens are the most powerful among us. There are many who believe that the Court of the Queens is the indicator of the health and power of all the Fae. We choose not to live Underhill, to put ouselves at the mercy of the Mother, the World and all that are in it. We might be safer in Underhill, but what would happen to the World if we withdrew, and took our majicks, no matter how small and insignificant, unnoticed by most?"
He was a philsophical old pixie. Pixies normally lived no more than a double score of years at most, and he had almost reached that age.
"Ah, thank you. I believe I understand. I would guess that there be a queen for each of the other two seasons as well?" He enquired as he looked at the pixie. "Also would you mind telling me something of the other races of the Fae. I know but little about a few and naught but the names of more but nothing of them..
It was in Albereth's nature to seek, to always look for more knowladge thought fortunately he'd been blessed with the sense to know that there were times when looking over just one more hill was one hill to many. As he listened to the music and awaited Brim's reply, he lifted a hand to once more brush back his long hair, a trait both necessary and habitual, thought this time he attempted to hook it behind an ear that while not elven, was not the rounded norm for humans.

"When Aurora's reign is past, then it will be the Fire Queen's reign and then the Queen of Water in her turn. Aurora, however, will reign for many centuries. Her grandmother, the Winter Queen, reigned for over eight hundred years...the length of time we have been fading from the wider world held at bay by disbelief and the pain of cold iron."
Brim answered Albereth's first question, then tackled the second. "Oh there are so many of us. Pixies, like myself, with our dragonfly wings, fairy with the wings of a moth or butterfly. The Sidhe, the closest of the Elvin races to D'aan, she who created us all it is said and the other races of elven kind. Boggles, and Red Caps, Bane Sidhe, and Sprites. Bogarts, and Poweries, Brownies, Piskies, Knockers, and Spriggens, and Black Annis. Silkies, and Willow o' Wisps, Bean Nighe, Bloody Head and Raw Bones, Trolls, and Night Flyers, Jack-in-Iron, Cailleach Bheur, Glaistig, Satyrs, and Fauns, Coblynau, and so many many more. Ogres, and others as well."
He looked past the swans neck. "Ah we are almost there. There will be the Castellain to greet you and footmen to take you to the resedential area of the palace. The great library is close to the palace and all scholars are welcome there. There are many excellent tomes that detail all the races of the Fae, and I know that Aurora would want you to make yourselves at home."
"Thank you." He replied as he head of the Queens and some of the Fae, those he'd heard about and those he hadn't with many more of the latter than the former. He was rather surprised when ogres and trolls were included amongst the ranks of the little people as most of the tales and treatise about them depicted them as different from the fae.
He did look slightly confused at the mention of Castellain, at least with the inflection given but decided to wait until he saw what, or more likely, who it was. "Thank you again Brim, you have been most patient and helpful. Should you be willing I would be honoured to call you friend." He said as he made a mental note to ask of the palace staff the location of the library.

One might call him by a more modern term, that being the major domo of the palace but Ricard was a Hob of traditional tastes. He'd held the postion of Castellian for nearly a thousand years and had never once, even when the Winter Queen was at her worst, considered stepping down. He was a Hob, and tending to such was what a Hob did, and did with sure knoweldge that none one could do it better.
He waited at the top of the half dozen steps that lead up from the main courtyard, and surveyed the waiting footmen with an air of satisfaction. No there was no state dinner being laid on at last minute, he already knew his new charge, the Princess Royal, would not wish such. However the myriad of suites available to the guests were all ready, and even the casual dinner being readied would do the palaces staff nothing but honor.

Alrik nodded to Aurora as she raised herself to his own height "Your words honor me, Lady Aurora Khalida du Fae." He followed her into the observatory, impressed with the view the clear crystal offered. His form moved with a seeming fluidic grace that looked out of place on a creature of his size, the air around him simmering with the contastant idle magic of a phsyical adept.
"Would you care for rooms with a balcony? We have many and you are welcome to chose from among the suites. I felt majick at the Grand Overlook, and I would hazard a guess that more representatives have arrived."
Nodding again, he chuckled "Anything you offer shall be fine.. I must ask, however, how many representatives are you expecting for this meeting?"
Once the swan ship landed and they had disembarked, Albereth turned and thanked the musicians. He then turned to examine the palace up close. He was unsure of proper procedure in this kind of situation and was thus slightly lost.

"Anything you offer shall be fine.. I must ask, however, how many representatives are you expecting for this meeting?"
A number of palace servants waited at a respectful distance, attentive to Aurora's and her guests needs.
"Alrik, is there anything special you require, or simply would care for to enhance your comfort, in your suite? I think the Spire of MidMorning would suite yuo the best, the top most suite. It has a spacious balcony, and the staff would gladly take your lugage, should you have brought any, there and ready it for you.."
Her dimples fled as she considered his question. "And as to how many might attend, I have only my hopes to guide me on that. I am hoping that many will come and be willing to be our firends. I know that there is danger in the wider world, but I feel that there is greater danger by remaining isolated." She said gravely. "Would you honor me by accompanying me to greet the other arrivals? Please I will understand if you are tired from your flight and wish to rest before dinner instead."

Golloriel stepped off the swan ship with a slight bow to Brim, having listened with rapt attention and an analytical interest as they journeyed down, but offering no comment or information of her own. Her eyes had been closed after the first few moments of the journey, and she had seemed to be deep in thought. The footmen were turned out in what Golloriel could only describe as heraldic finery. Nevertheless, she seemed keen to observe everything, and resolved herself to ask for a tour of the palace at the first polite opportunity.

After the passengers had disembarked the Swan ship glided off silently into the evening sky. Silently drifting globes of fairyfire gave the courtyard a warm wash of light, that allowed one to see clearly without straining ones eyes or being overly bright.
Ricard trotted lightly down the stairs and bowed deeply before the new arrivals.
"Welcome to the Court of the Queens!" His warm voice rang forth, carrying easily with no need to rasie it above normal conversational levels. His unlined gray skin and gleaiming silver grey eyes were set off by his traditional dark tabard and heavily embroidered tunic.
"I am Lord Ricard Miliflores and I have the honour to be the Castellian of the Court. We, the staff of her Royal Highness Aurora, are here to fill your every wish, so please, never hesistate to ask." He paused a second taking a moment to listen to voice only he could here, then continued.
"Princess Aurora will be joing us in just a few seconds, but please let us go in out of the cool." He bowed again and turning, led the way up the stairs then through the high arched double doors. He was only four foot in height, but one never noticed it against his impressive diginity and personal charm.
The entry hall was a study in white that managed to feel comfortable despite its immense space and four storey high ceiling. The frescos on the ceiling were richly detailed scenes of the gentler aspects of Fae life, and double stairways sprialed up to overlooking baclonies and hallways leading ot other parts of the vast palace complex.

Grey cloak billowing slightly behind her, Golloriel followed, seeming to be completely immune to the cold air, except for the slight affect of the breeze on her hair and cloak. She looked up at the ceiling and seemed fascinated, taking everything in with an almost childlike relish, she took the cloak off to reveal an almost uniform-like sky blue jacket of sorts with several vertical seams of crimson, and a long violet skirt.
Albereth nodded and gave a partial bow to Lord Ricard Miliflores's bow. He was at present content to follow where the Castellian wished to lead, but was sure his intrinsic curiosity would eventually lead him to asking both for a tour and directions to the library.
He was looking forward to meeting the Princess, thought also somewhat self-consious as well.

Shaking his head softly, Alrik smiled "I am sure the room will be far more than I could ask for, M'lady. As you can see, I travel light.. the allfather sent me the moment your request reached him."
In truth, he was trained never to ask for anything, such was his peoples way. He would accept hospitality openly, but would never request any comfort of his hosts.

Aurora's dimples returnd with her smile. "Still if you find anything that with it or with out it jeopardies your health or well being. I would not have my friends wanting because of oversight, or simple ignorace of what you need."
Then she blushed. "Oh Alrik, forgive me, if you are going to accompany me, I had better introduce myself completely to my people's newest ally, and my newest friend. I am Princess Aurora, and I am so glad that the All Father sent you as his representative." She quite liked the tall Draggone, for that is what she guessed he was, tho she had never seen his race before. She sincerely hoped that he hadn't thought she was trying any sort of trickery upon him by not giving her complete name. She honestly didn't often think of it as a status, but a honourable duity to be discharged as best she could.
Basin had been silent during the whole trip in the swan boat. The inquisitive magi was trying to listen and learn about everything around him. The use of magic here was in his opinion highly reckless something the order would never allow back home.
Basin smiled and looked around as he followed the others....
Deep in the dark bowels of the Palaai Temple in the capitol of the Herpetological Empire, Scholar Rraas felt a tingling sensation from behind his blind eyes. It felt familiar, yet alien at the same time. I hear your summons, Void Scion. What would you ask of me? From within his mind, the soft yet stern voice of the representative of the Pantheon could be heard.
A group of beings referring to themselves as the Fae Folk have made their presence known to us. It has been ordained by Sarreazarr himself that they should be met. In this may our knowledge grow, and their tales find their way into your Tomes.
Absentmindedly, Rraas stroked the leathery cover of a dusty book he was fingering through. If Sarreazarr wishes it, who am I to question. It will be done. The touch from behind his eyes was gone, signaling an end to the audience. The Scholar stroked his leathery tendrils grown long on his chin. After a brief moment, he clapped his hands together, and one of the Neophytes of the Order entered. "You summoned me, honorable Scholar?"
Rraas got up from the chair he was sitting in, and shuffled slowly in the darkness towards the young Sakkran. "I have. You will need to journey to the surface and have a missive sent to the Diplomatic Corps in Guaah in the Sol System. A nation of beings called the Fae Folk have surfaced, and the Pantheon ordains a diplomat from our people go and see what it is they're about. In this book...." A small book of black leather was thrust into the Neophyte's hands. "...are instructions on how to get to the Hidden Kingdom. And you'll be going as well, to accompany the diplomat."
A puzzled look crosses the young Orderman's features, as far as that goes. "But wouldn't the Pantheon already know...."
A dismissive wave of the Scholar's hand silences the neonate. "Yes, yes, of course they do. But if it wasn't possible of having an impact on our people one way or another, they wouldn't bring it to our attention, would they? They always seem to prefer we find out ourselves rather than spoon-feeding us like some hatchling. Keeps us on our toes, so to speak. Think of this trip as a part of your studies."
"Of course, honorable Scholar. I'll go at once." The child turned and scuttled off into the dark corridors leading upwards, while Rraas returned to his chair. Honorable this, esteemed that. I didn't grow old to have a bunch of hatchlings bowing and scraping like rodents in the dust. An audible 'Hrumph', and the Scholar returned to his transcribing of the Tomes.

The civilian transport landed at Eeorouh Spaceport, depositing travelers from the Known Systems here. Many seemed young, most likely students heading to Kastaa BioMed for their studies. One looked out of place, though, wearing a long grey cloak with a cowl that covered the eyes, and bearing the insignia of the Order of Rraag. Ambassador Bosska looked the Neophyte over, and hailed him. "Neophyte Rriik, I presume? I got your message and prepared a diplomatic package (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/Sakkra) for the .... Fae Folk was it? Yes yes. I've made the arrangements as you've stated and i'm ready to go."
The Neophyte looked through the sheer fabric that made up the cowl. "But you're the head of the Diplomatic Corps. Wouldn't a subordinate serve as well?"
"Maybe in most cases, but I make it a point to be present during First Contact encounters." Bosska's neck crest rises up sharply at this as he seemingly puffs himself up. A second later, a small satchel is picked up. "Whenever you are ready."

The ritual as outlined in Rriik's book was underway. Cast in darkness and outlined with glyphs and symbols of an arcane nature, smoke was allowed to fill the room while the two stood in the center. "I don't know where this will take us, but it should be in the vicinity of where we want to be."
Bosska chuckled lowly, sounding like a small avalanche in the distance. "Better an educated guess than nothing at all, I always say." Soon the entire room was shrouded in smoke and darkness.

After Brim's departure with the newly arrived guests in the Swan Boat, the Mountain trembled for a long moment and the Great Overlook returned to it's normal size, and the ability to open a Gate there ended. A new destination was chosen from among those readied to accept new arrivals.
The air in the vast cobbled forecort of the Inn at the End of the Road shimmered briefly and then smoke and darkness shrouded a portion of the space. Quickly the smoke vanished to reveal two newcomers.
One wore a long grey cloak with a cowl that covered the eyes and bore the insignia of the Order of Rraag. The other was taller older and wearing what any experienced diplomat of the Herpetological Empire would wear. A small valise was carried in one strong hand.
Chimes sounded through the clearing air alerting the staff of the Inn that guests had arrived and within moments a Tylwyth Teg trotted down the three steps of the Inns front porch, her golden blond hair shining in the warm amber light that spilled forth from the many faery lanterns that lit the fore court.
"Good even' my lords. Have ye come far? The Inn at The End of the Road always has rooms available and our cook is very skilled" She stood maybe four foot, tall for a Teg, and as fair as any of her race. Her fine linen blouse and skirt were heavily embroidered and the over vest was made of thousands of tiny, irridescant feathers.
She spoke in the common tongue of the Fae but majicks anciently imbued in the Inn provided instanteous translation for the Sakkran's ears.
"Lord Ricard Miliflores, would you be willing to give us a tour?" Albereth asked as he examined both the Fae in front of him as well as the palace that he could see.
Basin continued to look around the palace. He then looked at the Fae that were around the area. It was amazing to him that people so small and frail looking had so much power in the arcane arts, Then again Basin was trained not to judge people by just their height and body build…
At the approach of the Tylwyth Teg, Rriik seemed to sniff the air a bit from the nostrils positioned atop his head, hidden by his cowl. Bosska, however, made no delay as he hunkered down closer to the Fae's height and gave his head a slight bow as he did so. Any translated speech he heard he assumed was the result of the symbiote perpetually on the diplomat's ears and throat, although he did wonder why there was no .25 second delay in translation as there usually is with the symbiotid.
"Good day to you. Although in terms of using our own feet, the travel wasn't far at all. I fear my associate here ....' He motioned to Rriik while at the same time gesturing with his hands at the Neophyte who took the hint and gave his head a slight bow. " ..... might be a touch taxed with the effort of the travel. I hope the Inn you speak of can accomodate beings of our stature?"
Rriik, at the meanwhile, was more interested in the Teg's raiments than anything else. On par with the finest artisans in the Empire, he hoped to meet the tailor of the fabric to gleen some of the secrets of the Teg's clothing construction.

I hope the Inn you speak of can accomodate beings of our stature?"
"Most certes, my lords the Inn at the End of the Road has hosted many a being of such stature as thine selves. Often the Sidhe stay here, and a number of their warriors could match thine width and height." She nodded sagely. "Oh, please let me introduce me'self. I am Xarina. I and mine husaband Terrill keep the Inn." The Teg replied cheerily as she led them into the sprawling four storey Inn.
"If thou hath any special tastes in food and drink please don't hesitate to make them known."
The Inn's ceiling heights matched her assurances, for the ceiling was at least fifteen foot from the polished wood floors and the brightly patterend rugs that lay there and there. A fire crackled merrily at the far end of the gathering room, in a fireplace that was large enough to spit roast a full grown oxen within. Comfortable chairs to suite a variety of body heights and shapes were clusted in small groups, and though a arch way a large refectory could be glimpsed. Tantalizin smells wafted forth again advertising the Inns fine dining.
She led them to a heavily carved registry desk, and stepped behind it. 'Would you like a suite of two bedrooms or two seperate bedrooms?" She asked as she brought out a heavy tome and laid it open before them. A quill stand and ink pot sat near by in a chased silver holder.

Alrik returned the smile "If I do find myself in need of anything, I will mention it to one of your staff." He then unslung the sheathed axe from across his back, rolling the strap of the sheath around the weapons handle and turning to one of the servants, asking them to take it to the mentioned room for him, though he kept the ceremonial blade at his side, its hilt tied with a simple peace bond.
He paused then at the mention of Aurora's full name and postion, his eyes widening slightly as he gave another bow "Truly, I am honored to be greeted by a princess. To have your friendship means more to myself and my people than I can say." He smiled warmly againas he stretched slightly, "Before we meet the others, however, I think I shall revert to a less intimidating state." As he spoke, his form again began to shimmer and distort, the wings on his back shrinking and dissapearing as his face and other features metamorphised to a nearly human looking state, with the exception of a smile which revealed his slightly elongated, pointed teeth. His clothing and gear changed with him, obviously magically designed to match the form of their bearer.
The entire transformation took only seconds, and when complete, Alrik smiled "Now then, your highness.. where shall we be off to?"

The Brownie that took Alrik's axe bowed and trundled off to place the weapon in a carved wooden rack in his chosen suite.
"Before we meet the others, however, I think I shall revert to a less intimidating state."
"Actually I found your fierce appearance quite comforting. I mean it as no insult, truly. The more deadly the warrior, the greater a heart he needs, and your great heart shows through. And it is good to know that the All Father has sent some one so redoubtable" She watched as he made his transformation with ease. She would like to ask him later which form he felt more at home it - if it wouldn't be too personal a question. She'd have to try and discern where the lines of 'acceptable curiosity' lay for his people.
"Now then, your highness.. where shall we be off to?"
"Thank you for being willing to be my escort" She laid her fine boned hand hand on his shoulder and with a faint chiming sound they were in the spacious entry hall. A shimmer of star dust drifted about them then vanished.
Brim caught the swirl of majik and gave a deep bow when he saw whom had arrived, as did Lord Ricard.
"My Lords and Ladies, may I pressent her Royal Highness Aurora Kahlida du Fae, Heir to the Empty Throne, She Who Will Be The May Queen. And the honourable Lord Alrik, representative from the All Father." The Castellian's voice rang out clearly as mentally he sent to her the guests names and affiliations, then named them aloud. "Your Highness it is my pleasure to introduce to you lady Golloriel from the Ctan, Magi Basin Dolando from the Kingdom of Hansia, and lord Albereth, scholar."
"I am so happy that you all have come! Please no formality, and please I beg your forgiveness for being so tardy." Aurora glanced down at her informal riding outfit and blushed slightly. "I was taking time off from my duties."
"Dinner will be ready shortly, why don't we meet then and share pleasantries over good food and fine wine?" She offered. "That way if you would like to rest a little from your trip, my staff can guide you to your suites, or if you find you aren't tired, please feel free to explore the palace."
Seeing Brim as well as the Lord Ricard bow to a newly arrived lady, Albereth put it together and likewise offered her a bow, thought without the flowing grace of one acustom to bowing.
Ricard's announcement of the lady confirmed that she was Aurora, and his introduction of the Lord Alrik brought his attention to the man who had arrived with Aurora.
Straightening as they were introduced, he inclined his head when he was introduced. With a nod to her offer, he decided to explore the palace and see if there was a room with musical instruments, and specifically a piano.
"I believe a single suite with two bedrooms will be most sufficient, provided it faces where the sun shines in most? Cold blooded, don't you know." Bosska points to his chest at the last part of his statement. He looks down at the ink pot and quill, and lets out a little 'chuff'. Very charming. Like visiting the Temple Rrazauud. He forgoes the quill after attempting to place it between his clawed fingers and finding it seemed to get lost in there, and just dipped a single claw into the well, scratching down his insignia, as well as the insignia of the Order denoting Rriik.
The Orderman, in the meanwhile, was circling the lobby they were in, paying notice to their fireplace as well as the archway leading to the reflectory. His head was held high and straight as he took in the strange and tantalizing scents in the air with and audible sniffing sound.
"After we unload our burdens, light as they may be, is it anticipated that we would meet with some officials of your government, or what would serve that same purpose?"

"Oh my, you are here Officially!" Xarina exclaimed. "My apologies for not realizing such immediately. We must send you straight on to the Palace. Her Royal Highness has requested this. I shall have a Swan boat brought out to take you there in comfort and warmth."
She rang a small silver bell and a pixie so small as to be little more than a mote of light hastened to her side. She gave him instructions, and then turned back to the Sakkrans.
"It will take less than five minutes for it to be ready. Might I fix you something to drink while you wait? I have Dragon's Meade available and it does wonders for warming dragons up." She offered.

Alrik smiled warmly at that "Thank you, Aurora.. but not all are as accepting as you are, my people learned that long ago."
As she laid her hand on his shoulder, his smile softened some for a just moment into one of fast growing friendship. As the swirl of majik transported them across a distance that was unknown to him, his face reverted to a more diplomatic, though still firendly look as they reappeared and were introduced.
He gave a low, sweeping bow to those present as he was named, then drew himself to a stiff upright posture, nodding to each of the other respresentatives as they were introduced.
As Aurora moved to speak with and meet the other representatives, Alrik kept himself near the outside egdes of the group, his ingrained insticts already alerting him to each possible entrace and exit of the room, and how to best defend it. One of the staff saw Albereth wander away and remembered that he had asked if possibly a tour was available, and hurried after him. Bowing respectfully before Albereth he offered his services.
"Excuse me mi'lord Albereth, I heard you ask about a tour. Might I offer myself as a guide since the Castellian is busy? I am Farrado, and while I have only been on staff for fifty years, I do say I rather know the lay out of the palace."
Farado was tall for a brownie, standing fully three foot tall and the doublet, hossen and tabbard that comprised his uniform suited him well. His skin was nut brown as were his sharp eyes that missed little. His hair was golden and for a brownie vey tidily combed and tied back.
"Thank you for the offer Farrado." Albereth replied, "It is much appreciated. Truth to tell, my sense of direction is abyssmal. Is there a piano within the palacce?"

Golloriel curtsied to the future-may-queen with a practiced and fluid grace that told of much experience in such things, even though they weren’t the usual practice in her nation. “Greetings your majesty,” she said, and extended a hand, “I present to you gifts from my mistress and the C’tani governmental hierarchy.”
It was a small device, about the size of a pea, which was rather fortunate given the varying statures of the natives. It was cased in a true-silver shell, and when activated, would project a variety of documents and images – both two and three dimensional – pertaining to the nation and its peoples. The language of the text was strangely crafted so that it would appear to any given person as his or her own native tongue, if such a tongue had a script, and the device’s control system was very intuitive (if one read the first ‘page’ anyway, and controlled by gestures through the images.
The second gift was another orb of the same size as the projector, but this one was of a translucent crystal, like a diamond, or quartz, that sparkled when the light was refracted through it, but turned all light to purest white, absorbing any colour that hit it to balance the colours that reflected out of it to a whiteness. “This,” she said, “is a seed from a rare crystalline-life form that we do not have native to our realm, but was a gift from further friends of ours. We give you this seed in order to pass on that gift in the manner of friendship that it was given, in the hope of peaceful relations with your people.
“To the best of our knowledge, the glass tree that grows from it is everlasting, and ultimately, unless pruned; in its own environment, there are creatures that tap its nutrient flows to live, ever growing, though as it certainly does not feel any pain – or any other sensation, it is quite harmless to prune.
“It merely needs sunlight and chalky soil to grow, and it is our wish that as it does so, the relationship between our peoples grows in a similar manner.”
The third gift was yet another orb of the same size. It was a pearl, this time, that Golloriel apologetically explained was from ‘a world in the past and the future and nowhere.’ It was a personal gift from the Elenaran, the supreme ruler of the country, although, as the first orb would explain, this political power existed because it was unused except in emergency matters of state.
The pearl was black as the perfect-blackness of space, or a field of darkness, magical or technological, but it showed things, glimpses of the light it had absorbed long ago. It could be thrown in a fire without being heated at all, but years after, it would begin to glow with a radiant inner light from the heat of that fire, locked away in its core for such a long time.
It was not formed in the sea, despite is name, but in the depths of a city, not one of that would be ruled by the necrontyr, of course, that would be in the future past, inhabited by billions of people. Each one that was found was worth a move from the oppressive depths of those cities to the glimmering peaks, and the destiny of whole families was changed with each ultra-rare black pearl’s discovery. There were, to the knowledge of the best jewellers in the C’tan empire, less than a thousand such pearls in existence, and each one was essentially priceless, when they were infrequently sold, fetching prices of many dozens of millions of credits…

"If it wouldn't offend, would you call me Albereth as I have no titles that would warent a mi'lord." Albereth asked of Farrado.
"Oh it would not offend at all, but sir, if thou heard the invitation, it means that thee are a part of the Fae that hath might lost one's way, or thou art a mage with a kindred soul. As that may be I will name thee as thou art most comfortable with." Farrado spoke formally.
"And yes we have several pianos. We have what is called a Concert Grand Piano, a Parlor Grand Piano, a Upright Piano, a Studio Piano, a Piano Fortissimo and three different organs. Let me show you the Hall of Music." He offered and held out a hand for Albereth to take.

Aurora accepted the gifts with reverent hands.
"I can not tell thee adequately what these gift mean to us Lady Golloriel. We, the Fae have hidden ourselves away from the wider universe in an effort to survive, and there were many who honestly opposed my intent to bring us back into contact. Counting your great nation among our friends will ease those fears, and indeed bring us great pleasure and mutual benefits I most sincerely believe."
She took the silver shelled device and placed it in the keeping of Lord Ricard, then examined the diamond like seed minutely. "I shall plant this seed myself, and pass it's future seeds along to others so that the great circle of friendship is unbroken. Symbol of friendship and peacefull relations."
Aurora gazed into the heart of the black pearl for a long moment then raised her eyes "Each queen choses the gem that shall adorn her crown. I had not yet decided upon a center stone. Like the Hidden Realm, from a world that is every where and nowhere, past and that which is yet to be, I shall have this as my gem."
"Please convey my sincerest thanks to the Elenaran for her personal gift, and to the Empire of C'tan for their friendship and generous gifts."
"Then I am not sure as to why I received the invitation, as I am not what a mage at home, nor do I believe I am a Fae." Albereth commented outloud, but to himself, before replying, "Thank you." He replied as he took Farrado's hand as they headed to the Hall of Music.

Golloriel nodded, “I shall be certain to convey your thanks to my superiors at the first opportunity,” she said, smiling at the fae. “Incidentally, I recall someone mentioning something about dinner?”

Alrik settled himself in along a wall that provided a ample view of the room, choosing to spend his time observing quitely, listening to brief snippets of conversation between those in attendance without starting any of his own. His gaze swept a ever changing patter over the rooms possible entrances out of instinct more than anything else, he was certain the area was quite well secured on its own.
The entire time, a friendly smile was on his lips, giving the occasional nod when he met someones gaze. He was not the most skillful of people in such social situations, though he was certain he would be able to deal adequitely, for the allfather had chosen him, and he never chose incorrectly.

“Incidentally, I recall someone mentioning something about dinner?” Golloriel asked with a smile
"Yes, I did." Aurora returned the smile as she glanced at Lord Ricard.
"Dinner will be served in about thirty minutes, and I do apologise for the delay. You must be worn from your travels." He made a small gesture and a foot man bearing a tray of finger foods swooped in and offered it to Golloriel so she could make her selection. He had a fellow servant with a tray of beverages hard on his heels. Others circulated with other noshies. "Perhaps some nibbles to refresh you m'lady Golloriel?"
"Magus Dolando, would you care for something, or would you prefer to see your suite before dinner?" Aurora turned to the representative from Hansia.

Farrado led Albereth a few steps to a mirror that stretched from floor to ceiling. "The Hall of Music please." He grinned at Albereth "Majic mirrors o'course. Ever so useful to keep from getting lost." The view mirror showed wavered and changed, becoming that of a spacious musical conservatory. Farrado stepped through, drawing Albereth with him.
"Thank you" He called over his shoulder and the faintest of replies could be heard.
"My pleasure."
He gestured to the pianos, and organs that were a part of the palaces vast collection of musical insturments. "Dinner should be in about thirty minutes, or should I make your apologies?"
"That was interesting." Albereth commented as he stepped through the mirror, even thought his eyes insisted he was going to smack into the glass.
He looked about the vast array of musical instruments, but he was drawn to the piano. "As much as I'd love to forgo dinner, my stomach has other ideas." He replied with a chuckle. "Do all the mirrors function in such a manner?"

"Do all the mirrors function in such a manner?" Albereth asked.
"Oh no not at all. Just look for the floor to ceiling ones. You won't find one in the bedroom of your suite but there is one in the entry nitch off of the parlor. Just stand in front and state your desired destination, and if there is a mirror there that hasn't been set to private mode, just step through." Farrado advised him. "Now the one in your bathroom will shw you what you lok like from behind if asked, but it's mostly the ladies that make use of that function. You will be staying in the Azure suite."
He gestured towards the several different models of pianos. "Please feel to play, and I'll let you know when dinner is about to be served."
"Thank you." Albereth replied as he moved to the grand piano. Taking a seat, he stretched his fingers and began playing a composite piece of his own, a mixture of the solo of Totentanz and Nuages Gris.
Bosska gave a politely dismissive wave of his hand. "I'm afraid that we of my people must be cautious of what we intake. What may be safe for some of the reptilian bend has been known to activate .... aggresive .... tendencies in my people. But perhaps a small pot of black tea would be good while we wait?"
Rriik sidles up to Bosska's side in a whisper. "A Swan Boat? I'm not sure what that entails..." The elder diplomat raises a clawed finger. "That's part of the job in being an emissar. You never know what to expect, and most times, what you try to anticipate is a complete reversal of what actually is. Have no expectations, and you never are wrong."

"But perhaps a small pot of black tea would be good while we wait?"
"Why certainly" Xarina exclaimed and after showing them to comfortable seats by the fireplace bustled off. Very shortly she was back with a pair of pots , steam form the balck tea within rising to perfume the air. The tray also held slices of candied ginger, a small pot of honey, sprigs of fresh mint and rose petals as well as a small pitcher of cream.
"In case you like to flavor your tea" She explained as she set the tray down on the table between their chairs.
A little longer than the five minutes, but not overly much longer she was back with an apology that it had taken longer than expected but that the Swan Boat was ready. Leading the way she guided them back out to the courtyard where the last glows of twilight lit a softly glowing in its own right vessel that floated a few inches off of the paving stones.
One of the wings was 'open' creating a door for them to enter. Softly padded bench seats formed a u shape. There was also pleant of room to stand if they so chose. A slender male Sidhe in casually elegant robes sat on a small raised seat just behind here the neck joined the body.
"My apology that I was not immediately available, esteemed ambassadors! Do not worry about the growing chill, the Swan Boat's shield will keep us warm and unruffled by the wind of our passage."
Once they were ensconced the boat rose to flaot roughly double the height of a tall man off the ground and began gliding in swift silence toward the distant city. Xarina's waving figure growing small in the distance. "If you like I can take us higher and you can see more. " The Sidhe offered.

" Albereth, dinner will be served in about twenty minutes. Did you wish to wash up first, or change clothing? I'll gladly guide you to your chambers, they took your valise there already." Farrado offered as Albreth finished the current piece that he had been playing. The Brownie had been enjoying the music and hadn't wanted to interupt.

Farrado offered as Albreth finished the current piece that he had been playing. The Brownie had been enjoying the music and hadn't wanted to interupt.
"That would be an excellent idea." Albereth replied as he stood, the last notes fading away. "If it wouldn't be too much trouble would you please thank whoever took my valise to my chamber?
Brushing bach his hair, he asked, "Do we get to the rooms throught the magick mirrors?"
Bosska gave the approximation of a grin, as far as one without lips can manage. "No need, unless terrain demands it." Rriik looke dat him with one eye. "By your leave Amabassador, i'd like to take a quick kip before we arrive. I'm a tad spent from the transport here."
Bosska nodded slowly. "Of course. I'll rouse you when we draw near. Driver, could you alert us five minutes before we arrive?" He took some papers out of his attache and began to sort through them, making notations.
