Spaam & Schiavonia: Cup of Harmony for WC28 Bid

Schiavonia
12-05-2006, 01:15
"Right then lads, what we've got planned is a hybrid between Spaam's bid to host the last Cup of Harmony (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=474303) and Schiavonia's from the one before (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=466153)."

"OK. What aspects of them do you want to include?"

"Oh, you know, something that will get them voting for our bid."

"I understand that, but what aspects of each one do we include?"

"That's down to you! Just make it popular!"

"But we need to know everything about the bid before we can try to get people's attentions."

"Just do it!!!"

And with that, Harvey Alfredo walked away.

- - - - -

"We've done our best, Mr. Alfredo."

"OK then. Hit me."

BUM DA DUM!

Are YOU sick of moving your football team from one nation to another in a competition that is nicknamed the "Cup of Losers"???

Are YOU sick of the hosts saying "but it was THEIR turn to scorinate!!1!"???

Are YOU sick of competitions being given to nations like LE by default because noone else could be bothered with them???

THEN HAVE WE GOT A DEAL FOR YOU!

Because Spaam and Schiavonia, experienced hosts of past Cups of Harmony, experienced roleplayers, experienced scorinators and not an ignoramus in sight bring you...

Spaam & Schiavonia's Cup of Harmony bid!

Yes, your team will play only in one country unless they screw up and come second in the group, then, to be quite frank, you really deserve the deep vein thrombosis brought on by flying between The Heartland and FIFA. And it's not the "Cup of Losers" this time either. The bidding federations have asked us to point out that this cup's nickname will be the "Cup of Nations Who Got Screwed Over By A Dodgy Scorinator".

If one of the hosts doesn't scorinate by a particular time, the other will be allowed to do the scorination. It's called collective responsibility.

And we're not LE.

Some of the highlights...

RP Bonus
Using our top-of-the-range RP Qualit-o-matic™, we will detect your quality roleplays, and add up to an entire KPB point to your ranking. With a limit of one RP counted per matchday, this prevents Spaaming™, and gives lower ranked nations a bigger bonus for roleplaying!

Past hosting
Ignoring WCVI, HBWC4 (in NEWI Cefn Druids) and minority sports that nobody gives a damn about (Dodgeball or Shoe Flinging, anyone?), Spaam and Schiavonia/Druida/NEWI Cefn Druids have a long history of successcully hosting events. Spaam has hosted CoH3 (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=306375) (WC12), CoH19 (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=475470) (WC28) and the Founding Nations Cup (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=305140). The user behind Schiavonia has hosted FHWC10 (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=315180), WC20 (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=388890) CoH15 (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=432742) (WC23), WC24 (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=437513), CoH18 (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=466804) (WC26) and AOCAF8. Both nations have recently hosted or are currently hosting their regional football tounaments.

Number of Teams
Numbers are not important. We intend to invite every team that has played in World Cup 28 qualifying, posted an RP in the World Cup 28 RP thread and who hasn't qualified for the finals of the tournament. We don't want you lot to get bored now, do we?

Scorination
Since the current World Cup has proven so controversial, we shall be using the SIS (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=474170), which has been extensively tested and was used for Schiavonia's previous Cup of Harmony hosting. It was designed after Druida's WC24 scorinator produced scores that the creator thought were too random for some and not random enough for others, just as the one used this cup seems to have been. This one is equally random for everyone (at least, relatively speaking, otherwise we'd just give the prize to the highest ranked side).

Ranks
We'll be using the rankings from after WC28 Qualifying. And having WC27-style modifiers. Who doesn't like +/- 5 styles? Ridiculous scores = better RP!

Stadia
We will include the obligatory and worthless pictures of stadia a bit later. But Spaam IS well known as a leader in stadium technology, being able to cram over a quarter of a million people into one stadium. And no, the people are NOT 2 inches tall! Schiavonia comtrasts Spaam well, as it is famous for it's comparitively small, shambolic stadia, and it is rumoured that a man in the Schiavone town of Threlo is actually two inches tall. We don't believe it ourselves, but it gets the tourists in.

All this, and we're not LE! What more could you ask for!?!?!

"So, what do you think?"

"It'll just have to do, won't it?"

The Very Strange Hamlet of Qazox would like to put its weight behind this bid. Bery well thought out and hopefully with 2 people scorinating, I'll win over a crappy team this time to get into the knockout stage.

Artanis National Football Stadium

http://www.worldstadiums.com/stadium_pictures/asia/north_korea/pyongyang_may_day1.jpg

One of the most famous stadia in the world, it holds up to 250 thousand
full-size people. Most famous for causing stadium-envy amonst other nations.
This stadium has held countless international football matches in the past 80+
years. Situated in Spaam's capital Artanis, in the south of the nation, it is a
busy metropolis of almost 200 million people.

Ethium State Stadium

http://www.worldstadiums.com/stadium_pictures/asia/india/calcutta_saltlake.jpg

Holding around 200 thousand people, this stadium is situated in the desert
oasis of Moladias, a city of over 50 million people.

East Spaam National Football Stadium

http://www.worldstadiums.com/stadium_pictures/north_america/mexico/central_mexico/mexico_city_azteca1.jpg

In the northern-most city of Austraea, this stadium is East Spaam's finest. It
seats just over 200 thousand people.

Gall Island Football Stadium

Spaam's only major off-shore stadium, this stadium in Gallunias features the
best take-away Chicken 'n' Waffles in the world. Seats almost 150 thousand.

King Francesco Stadium, Kingsbury
Capacity - 63,000
http://www.tdv.at/photos/prater_sta/astadion2k.jpg

The King Francesco Stadium is the centre of the Schiavone sports scene. What with it being the national stadium and what have you. Although compared with anything in Spaam, playing in this place would be like having a kick around in your local park.

The Throne, Kingsbury
Capacity - 58,000
http://www.soccerstadiums.homestead.com/files/portugual___porto_2.jpg

The Throne is the home of Kingsbury's top club side, Kingsbury Monarchs. It is also the biggest club stadium in Schiavonia. A stadium fit for a king. That is, if he didn't already have a better and bigger one...

Sedgefield Park, Sedgefield
Capacity - 56,990
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y2/NEWI/SedgefieldPark.jpg

Sedgefield Park is the biggest stadium in Schiavonia's second city, Sedgefield, and is also the biggest outside Kingsbury. Hard to believe, but this place sterted off as a tiny little field amongst a bunch of houses. But the locals love the game and their team so much that they gave up their homes in return for appartments overlooking the pitch at the northern end of the ground.

Shamrock Park, Threlo
Capacity - 47,565
http://www.geocities.com/kilruanemacdonaghs/CROKEPARK_MODEL.jpg

Threlo is the centre of Schiavonia's not-that-big celtic community. Thus Shamrock Park is the centre of their community, what it being big enough to seat a vast proportion of them. But they always come for their sport, and this is one of the best loved stadia in the Forty-Six Islands.

The Headland, Kingsbury Rock, Kingsbury
Capacity - 42,000
http://perso.wanadoo.fr/cypris/images/Balades_photos/monaco/Monaco_4.jpg

While it is only Kingsbury's third biggest stadium, and that Kingsbury Rocks who play there play in the shadows of their local rivals, The Headland is one of the most spectacular locations for a stadium in the world. Kingsbury in one direction, Kingsbury Bay another, the blue oceans of FIFA in another, and finally the beautiful rolling countryside of Schiavonia the other. A beautiful location for a beautiful ground.

Il Parabol, Unimo
Capacity - 41,322
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y2/NEWI/IlParabol.jpg

The stadium is thus named because it originally only consisted of one of the curved end sections. However, this left players exposed to the wind, so they put a matching parabol at the other end. Only once they figured that stands down the sides, to make a complete ring, would completely keep the wind out, did this stadium finally become complete.

Stonyshore, Welkay
Capacity - 37,780
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y2/NEWI/DruidanStadia/SorrellimeFountain.jpg

Stonyshore is built upon the banks of the lake to the south of the town of Welkay. If it wasn't for the Headland, this would be the best-located stadium in the country. Still, the nearby hills would make a beautiful backdrop for any international sporting event.

Alfons Park, Heartellpool
Capacity - 32,331
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y2/NEWI/Alfons.jpg

For some bizzare reason, this stadium is named after the King of Spruitland. Why the natives of Heartellpool gave their stadium this name, we don't quite know. They must just be really odd.

Herculean Stadium, Cartfield
Capacity - 29,500
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y2/NEWI/DruidanStadia/ayresome.png

In all honesty, nobody in their right mind would call this place Herculean. But then, you have to scare the visitors somehow. If the name doesn't get you (and let's be honest, it probably wouldn't), the toilets will. Or maybe the quality gourmet menu of sludge and cardboard. The perfect pre-match meal!

As a fan of both the Schiavonian and the Spaamanian footballing institutions, the Psychos are happy to place their weight firmly behind this bid, even if we won't be involved.

Will I get free Chicken 'n' Waffles?

A very good bid though I hope someone puts up a bid so you guys don't win by mere defualt but have to win by being the best bid.

The King Francesco Stadium is the centre of the Schiavone sports scene. What with it being the national stadium and what have you. The KFS will host the Opening Ceremony, but not the final, as this will be held in Dushanbe, Tadjikistan. Still, it will be a proud moment if the orange and scarlet army get to start the World Cup party!
*coughyoushouldupdatethiscough*

All teams that play in Gall Island will have a free dinner that will include Chicken'n'Waffles :D

But what about those of us who like IHOP? Are there any in Spaam or Schiavonia? If not, Build one soonish as the Black Oxen can't do without their GrandSlam(tm) Breakfasts. (which may explain why I can't qualify for the Cup....)

You mean I didn't tell you? I thought it would be fun to outlet the final to somewhere completely different...
