New season, new uglier logo.

How to do that thing you do

It's still mostly identical to previous incarnations of this whole thing. But read this part, because there are NEW FEATURES!, and if you miss out and cry to me later I'm not going to have a bit of sympathy for you.

Team Name. Simple.

Then, the normal three-category-car-system-thing.
Aerodynamics makes you go fast on straight lines.
Cornering makes you go fast around the corners.
Reliability stops you from being a burning oily mess in a sand trap.
You have 20 points to split the three, a max of ten in any particular one. Typical format goes (A-C-R).

Then, your drivers. You have 2, a first and a second. The first should, in theory, be the better one. Now, each driver gets a bonus point to one of the three stats. So one could be driving a car that's 8-7-6 and the other could be driving a car that's 7-7-7. If you miss that, you don't get to go back and add it in once we start. I mean, I put it in red, after all.

One team per person please. If this changes for some reason, you'll know.

Submitting a track

To submit a track for a race, you need:

The name of the circuit,
a track map or description,
and if you drew/created it yourself, a fastest lap time.

Typical policy must require us to say- Keep it light on the Ovals, please.

The season will consist of a number of races that is pretty flexable, to be chosen from applicants. Feel free to apply with multiple tracks, but if possible, One race per nation will be adhered to. Each race will consist of a qualifying and race day. An ideal number of races will be ten or eleven this go-around.

Galashiels
10-05-2006, 12:44
Galashiels will be entering this season of NSGP, with our new team. We hope to be competitive, and look forward to some good racing. Our team portfolio is:

Team
Team Name: PureSpeed Racing
Chairman: Max Feder
Technical Director: Tom Glennis
Chief Designer: Ross Morrison

History
The team competed under the name of Ciramix F1 in Nationstates F1 run by Kazakhstania, and then took a long break from competition. They were one of the front runners in that series, and took several trophies. They have now joiend Season 4 of Nationstates Grand Prix, and hope to contunie their form.

Based in the mountain town of Three Dams City, they own a private test track and a large, state of the art factory. The PureSpeed brand also has its roots in Touring Car Racing, some Oval Racing and Galashiels Formula 3. They hope their wide range of experience in both F1 and its feeder series will help them to be a competitive force this year.

The Car
Aerodynamic: 6
Cornering: 7
Reliability: 7

http://www.f1-pics.com/malaysia06/friday/friday_my06_doornbos01.jpg

Ross Morrison, chief designer, says:

"This year, the team has decided to pioneer various new technologies in F1 racing. Featuring new suspension technologies, and active Electronic Control Unit and a state of the art V8 power plant, the team hopes their technical skills can pay off. The car will be constantly updated throughout the year with new components, and will continue to be at the cutting edge of design for the whole year."

Drivers
Driver 1: Paul Gilchrist (Kazakhstania) 7 - 7 - 7
Driver 2: Ian Hunter (Galashiels) 6 - 8 - 7
Test Driver: Peter Sandison (Galashiels)

This strong and experienced three driver line up hopes to combine youth, passion and knowledge to create a strong driving force for the whole year. Victories are planned, but not overly expected - this will be a learning series for the new team from Galashiels. Gilchrist has always been an open wheeled racer, and was part of the team in NSF1. Hunter was also part of that team, but has been a Touring Car and DTM racer for quite a while before that. Sandison is a youtful driver, and hopes to take his natural gift to the field next year.

The Track

Name: The Green Ring

http://img63.imageshack.us/img63/7585/f13nj.jpg

Circuit Length: 4.574km
Circuit Type: Permanent Test Track and Racing Facility
Fastest Lap: 1'32.903

The circuit is the PureSpeed teams permanent test track, and main circuit for the nations DTM, Touring Car and F3 races. It is not a new track, and has its bases back in the 80's. however, various new stands and a brand new, ultra modern pit complex will hope to rejuvinate the circuit this year. With a perfect mix of a high speed straight, some medium and slow speed corners and enough high speed corners (the 1st curve is particularly interesting) to keep the drivers intersted.

The Hairpin Ost provides an ideal overtaking spot, as does Turn 6. The stadium section is designed to test a drivers technical skills, and has done so in many past races. The Green Ring should definately provide some exciting racing!

Our test driver this year is Schiavone National Team footballer Kenny Sanderson, who also represented (and failed miserably for) Schiavonia at Equestrian at the Ylompics. Is there any chance I can make him even worse than the car goes already (say 6-1-0)? If not, he'd just be 10-1-0.

Fort Boston, Bostopia

Bostopian officials are preparing the city for the influx of spectators for the kickoff of the Formula 1 Grand Prix, here in Fort Boston. However, officials are finding themselves with one small problem - just WHEN are they to be prepared? With the season signups closing this Saturday, Bostopian officials are expecting the start-up date to be significantly close to this date.

However, early preparation would mean traffic chaos around central Fort Boston for an extended period, especially around the Fort Boston Castle area, due to the roads having to be closed so the street course can be prepared.

Judging by what LE said earlier, I signed up a bit too late to actually retain my car numbers. Meh, it's no big deal.

-I can't take Kry's track, as he doesn't provide the necessary information... For that matter, Wentland I'll also need the appropriate information from you for Davenant, otherwise I may have to take the track off, depending on what Cas's scorinator allows... The provisional replacement race will be the Oliverrian GP, otherwise Oliverry will slip in at race #8, with V/I, LE and Bedi all moving one GP further back. I've also put Kelse's GP in to #3, taking away my second race (Grand Prix of The Heartland in Cyclonesville).

We don't need anymore tracks, thanks.
