Rows and rows of prisoners stood, shivering on the deck of the HES Reliance, a Rydra Class destroyer put on special assignment for this trip. The grey clad members of the JuggenWaffen strolled leisurely about, their guns slung over their backs. While an UndirOfisir from the WaffenHuil watched through squinted eyes, this was a new experiment by the Empire. The propaganda released by the Green Kreigmeist(Morgian Government) had said this would work, so all believed it would.

They had taken off the day before, from the Fatherland's last Naval Base at Narbo Island. But engineers employed by the Kreigmeist had been here for several years, preparing housing, shops, and learning of the remnants of the country that still remained on the island.

Smiling the UndirOfisir squinted into the rolling fog and shouted in Morgian. "This will be your home, you have scorned the Fatherland! And this is your punishment. We will not be sending help, you will be completely on your own! It is the will of the Emperor that you return, but if you do not...the people of the Fatherland will not lose any sleep."

Shifting uncomfortably the prisoners watched as their new home came ever closer. "The Empire, wishes you luck...we will not be back. What you make of this time is completely up to you. I must warn you that a group, loyal to the previous government lives on the island. They will not be happy to see you."

With that the UndirOfisir turned, as the ship dropped anchor and the JuggenWaffen began to bark orders." In to the boats, now! Get in."

As the rejects from the Morgian homeland dropped into the frigid water they glanced up at the saber and hammer of the Empire, this would be the last time they would see this. Motors quickly drowned out all thought, the numbing water all pain, this was the new experiment. This was the Nordican Frontier. As the group of prisoners stood on the island and watched the Reliance slip out to sea, utter silence fell over the group, the reality that they we're alone finally sinking in.

A sleek green corvette moved carefully and slowly through the fog, trying to avoid the treacherous rocks that stuck up out of the sea like teeth along this part of the coast. The corvette was emblazoned with the log of the Borealis Venture Co. - a small multinational corporation, which operated semi-legally out of Gwazzaria. Private enterprise in non-essential (or desired) fields, like gambling, was permitted in Gwazzaria. Borealis Venture hopped around the axis between free enterprise, government agency, and criminal cartel.

In this instance, it was both illegal business operations and government work. The corvette had swung around to the northern coast of the Nordican Frontier, to avoid meeting up with any of the Gwazzaria fishing or patrol boats in the southern waters. The new Ministry of Colonization had contracted them to begin staking out the Nordican Frontier for anywhere potentially habitable, or advantageous to control, while the Venture Co. itself was looking for something different to be exploited.

The shore came into view, and clumsily a ramp was extended from the back of the ship to the rocky shoreline. The modified armored personnel carrier that had been on the back of the ship was unchained and slowly revved to life. After it was suitably warmed up, the rest of its passengers clambered in and it cautiously rumbled off into the frozen wildlands.

The corvette waited several minutes, then began to turn about and depart. Its radar wasn't sufficiently ranged enough to tell, and the fog obstructed eyesight, but they passed relatively close to the HES Reliance as they left.

The schoolship M/S Unchecked Agression leaves from Erikpolis Military High. The seniors of this year, 2 classes of 16-year olds, are leaving for the Frontier of Hyper Nordica. For 6 months they will fend for themselves in this hostile inviroment. If they return, they will create the backbone of future Erikandian Officer corps. If they don't, they won't be missed. Erikandia got no time for imperfection.

A woman stands alone on the boat. She is too old to be a part of the student group, but also too young to be one of the teachers taking the teenagers to the island. She is known to everybody abord the boat, though none of them know her personally. They all keep a good distance, her reputation is grim and well deserved...

Professor Calibur Burnes renowned archaeologist and adventurer watched the Lynx helicopter depart, heading back to the science vessel M/S Pandora. It did not take long before he lost visual contact, but the sound of the helicopter lingered in the area for several minutes. He took a deep breath and turned towards the handpicked crew, who already inspected and prepared the equipment they had brought along. There were much to do and little time before nightfall.

Things had moved fast…it were only six weeks ago since he had discovered the ancient map. Things had been much easier if it had been a map over a different island, The Nordican Frontier was a dangerous place…
