OOC: For those of you who care.

Beretta is now offering a new rifle, the RX4, for their 'X4' line of products to include the PX4 sidearm and the CX4 carbine. They also offer a new sidearm, the '90Two', which looks like a crossbreed between the venerable M92FS and the PX4 pistol. The '90Two' features ergonomic design and interchangeable grips, high-contrast interchangeable sights, an M1913 Piticanny rail with cover, and extreme ease of removal from a holster. It also field-strips as easily at the PX4. The RX4 has very limited details, but the weapon is described as a polymer-framed gas-operated semi-automatic rifle, and resembles a shotgun mated with the CX4 carbine.

Kimber's new polymer-frame sidearm, the KPD, or 'Kimber Pro Defense', has debuted. This double-action only pistol is currently produced only in .40 S&W, but a 9x19mm variation is promised soon, whenever that may be. The weapon has an ambidexterous magazine release, internal lock, and is double-action only. Two 12-round magazines are shipped with the weapon.

SIG's new 556 rifle has become avaliable for purchase, and features built-in Piticanny rails, six-position telescoping stock, 16" 1-in-9 twist barrel, and an aircraft-grade alloy reciever that will accept standard AR (that's M16 for the rest of you) magazines as well as the factory polymer magazines for maximum compatibility. The weapon is .223 (5.56x45mm) caliber, gas-operated, and semi-automatic. It is a full pound lighter than comparable weapons, and features a factory-standard ergonomic pistol grip with storage compartment.

The 'Revolution'-series M1911 pistols are also currently on sale from SIG in numerous different configurations.

Smith and Wesson has developed an excellent tactical rifle, the M&P15, an AR-15 style rifle with four-sided Piticanny-rail free-floating handguard, 16" 1-in-9 twist barrel, flat-top reciever, six-position stock, and flip-up front and rear sights. The weapon accepts standard AR magazines and is chambered for the .223 Remington (5.56x45mm) round. It is avaliable in three variations, the third having the excellent free-floating handguard desgribed above.
