Just watched the original King Kong again. So I was thinking, "Hey, this could make a cool RP!" So, is anyone up for it? Here is the template for character creation.

The story is similar to King Kong. A freigther in 1933 comes upon an island in the Pacific. A group of the sailors, or stowaways if you want, go to explore. They get captured by natives, and thrown into the jungle, which is filled with dinosaurs and other beasts. All equipment is for when the characters leave the ship. I will make my character later.

Two characters

Name- Brendan Edwards
Age- 23
Gender- Male
Equipment- 12 Gauge shotgun and ammo, 45 Longcolt revolver and ammo
Background- growing up in NYC, Brendan knows who to survive a tough life. He has tried many jobs to help support his family. Currently he is a sailor on the S.S. Cooper. He is likeable and calm, unlike his captain.

Name- Cpt. Jim Duffey
Age- 29
Gender- Male
Equipment- lighter, Springfield rifle and ammo
Background- Duffey rowed crew as a child, and quickly became accustomed to water. He became a Captain earlier than most because of his skills. He is always highstrung, constantly yelling or barking out orders, or breaking spirits of others.

Having watched the new King Kong recently, this seems very interesting. My characters are:

Name – Lucy Chambers
Age - 23
Gender - Female
Equipment – Pen, Notepad, small pistol.
Background – A journalist on the lookout for a good story, waiting for find that step into serious journalism that would establish her in the profession, especially due to her gender. Decides to do a piece about sailors and the hardships they face etc.

Name – Matt Hubbard
Age - 41
Gender - Male
Equipment – Rifle and ammo, knife and cross.
Background – Matt started his early life on a much different course, following the path of religion. Unfortunately as sequence of events and a liking for the bottle made him lose everything. After a succession of other jobs, Matt joined the crew of the SS Cooper to forget this past and to try to find his future.

I hope it's okay to have a female on board.

Name – Benjamin Ulysses Stillwater

Age - 37

Gender - Male

Equipment – (2) M1911 Colts (.45 ACP), 1903 Springfield w/3.5x scope (30.06 Springfield), Smith and Wesson Police Special (.38 Special), trench knife

Background – Stillwater served under Blackjack Pershing in the first world war as a Marine, seeing action against the Germans on numerous occasions. His tours of duty completed, Stillwater had begun to drift from location to location, doing odd jobs for a few criminal elements and trying his hand at boxing for a while until stumbling across an add for help on a steamer, signing on mere steps ahead of the authorities.

Stillwater is a fighter, and knows little about any other trades. While a competent marksman, his demenor and personality leave much to be desired. His moods range from surly to downright nasty, and tend to worsen when mixed with alcohol. Standing roughly six feet tall, Stillwater's frame is muscular and powerful from his years of military service and manual labor. While intelligent, he prefers a subordinate role and obeys his superiors without question or complaint.

Gender: Female

Equipment: Leica Model II Camera, Camera bag W' gear- {Extra lenses; 15 canninsters of 35mm film; changing bag( small lightproof bag); box of water proof kitchen matches; small sewing kit ( 3 needles, four different colors of thread -about a yard of each color); nail kit ( small nail scissors, emery board, buffing stone ); several handkerchifs; several pencils; two small notebooks}-collapsable tripod lashed to bottom of camera bag; swiss army knife; tiny jar of lip rouge- top has small mirror set in it.

Walther PP in .32 ACP - three magazines of 8 rounds each, bush knife, canteen

Background: Thea is a woman used to getting her own way - the youngest child ( and spoiled rotten ) of a very wealthy family she grew up 'trotting the globe' with her scandalously bohemian parents ( Her father was heir to an old and respectable Earldom, and her mother is a grand niece of Joan Jacob Astor ) - Though they never really 'roughed' it- always taking a hordes of servants with them, and mostly staying with the local royalty of where ever they visited.

Both were avid hunters and taught Thea and her older brother from an early age to be 'proper' hunters. Thea is a good shot with light caliber rifles and pistols, but does not care for shotguns or revolvers. She is very fond of her Walther PP and sleeps with it under her pillow.

She would like to make a name for herself in the nascent field of Photojournalism - her 'hero' is John Muir, having met him several times in her family's peregrinations about the world. Well, but eclectically educated she speaks several languages and is an avid reader

However she is on the ship due to a lost bet, and is beginning to find things not at all the sort of 'adventure' she is used to.

LOL GT- lets hope they can handle two ( wicked giggles)

everyone is approved, will wait to see if more people join before starting the RP.

I don't mind taking on some supporting characters if you want more people on the trek and no one else wishes to take part. The two I have given bios for will be my main, but it is no hardship to play others if it is needed.

I can run a second character - perhaps Thea's staid, stuffy, 'oh so veddy proper ' older brother. He's always good for causeing even more trouble than Thea - because he believes that "of course I'm right, old chap."

Background: A movie star, turned war-hero, Mick is a man who loves action. After a near fatal wound in his chest, however, Mick returned home with little to do. Deciding that a little adventure is what he needed to kick start his career, he joined up for this little adventure... Plus, he noticed several ladies going on board...

Equipment: A P-08 Luger, M1928 Thompson sub-machine gun, both with ammunition, his old Army bayonet

Backround: Born in 1900 in Munich, Germany he joined the infantry in 1916 during World War I after lying about his age to join his brothers. He served on the Western front from 1916 till the end of the war. In 1929 he was able to work his way on a frieghter to the United States and has held a variety of jobs. Karl does have some nightmares about the trenches when he sleeps. Fluent in English but talks with an accent.

Age: 26
Apperance: Dark hair, blue eyes, short beard
Equipment: Tompson machine gun, machete
Backround: Dutch's family were German refugees during WWI. They escaped to America and started over. Dutch was always in trouble with thr authorities. He made his way through life in a series of odd jobs at the docks and now he works on the ship, towards an uncertain fate.

Not sure if you guys can join, but nice characters everyone.

lol I usually post when other people from the RP are online. It helps me get in the groove better...

But, that's almost as fast as my other RP. I post once, an hour later it's already on page 5...LoL
