The Grand Lord Vice-Premier of Pomp, Pageantry, and Statistics of the Most Serene Republic of Schorteskatascansolani is pleased to announce to the worthy co-inhabitants of the NationStates Universe that the population of our country has grown to 500 millions of men. We have thus been permitted under the laws of the United Nations to grant our nation an official custom title. We have adopted the title of "The United Rep'cs of Q-VURST and of Schorteskatascansolani". This is, of course, an extreme truncation of our real official title, because U.N. regulations limit the length of names. Our true official title is "The Thrice-Reunited Bohemian Republics of the Fourteenth River (Serenissima) Namely, Quorell-Van Uverstragraph, Rostoch Schweilenbourger, Tvorestistvoreilboh, and Schorteskatascansolania". This declaration has been duly and officially signed and notarized by the Grand Lord Vice-Premier of Pomp, Pageantry, and Statistics of the former Most Serene Republic of Schorteskatascansolani, now the United Rep'cs of Q-VURST and of Schorteskatascansolani, Laurence z Bresnovica. The Third Subchief in Charge of Holy Days and Holidays, reporting to the Grand Lord Vice-Premier of Pomp, Pageantry, and Statistics of the former Most Serene Republic of Schorteskatascansolani, now the United Rep'cs of Q-VURST and of Schorteskatascansolani, is pleased to announce, that, the release of the above document having been made yesterday, the Twenty-Fifth of April every year has been declared a National Holiday as the Half Billion Day, with requisite fireworks and local politicians making their regular contributions to global warming (in other words, making speeches.) This will be a perpetual Holiday in the future of the Republics until such time as the Third Subchief should deem it apppropriate to replace it with another.

Sorry, small talk's never really been my thing. We just saw the message and the diplomats figured it'd be a good idea to make new friends by, well, complimenting you on something you're clearly proud of. Given that a low-level diplomat would be insulting and the Supreme Emperor's out with a bad cold... right.

So, ah, I figure we've got the industry to print banners en masse for your celebrations if you'd like, and we could probably do it rather inexpensively. This is a poorly thought out--i.e. extemporaneous--suggestion at trade deals.

Ah, Scolopendra! I remember you from my earlier days in NS, before this nation. Quite a grand place. I do hope everything is still all right for you.
