The Exarch is Dead!
His Holiness Berenon passes away

Shocking news has arrived. His Holiness Berenon, Exarch of the Flame, Watcher of Dawn, High Lord of Eldath, Trademaster of Heraniol, Holder of Darsomir, passed away this afternoon. Exact cause of death has not been announced yet, but is believed to be related to his illness over the last month.
The Exarchs Aristhia and Elgin have called for a month of official mourning, in recognition of His Holiness' position as Exarch of the Flame.
His Holiness' passing has left a void in Darsomiri politics. He had no clear successor, so it may take some time before a new Exarch is determined by the Court of Dawn. The position of High Lord of the city of Eldath will also be vacant for some time, as it is tied to the Exarchy.
The Merchant Council of Heraniol is already meeting to elect a new Trademaster. His Holiness held this position in his own right prior to his election to the Exarchy. It is unlikely that the Merchant Council will elect another Acolyte of the Flame, though it is rumoured that several of the frontrunners have close links to the Court of Noon.
