Would anyone be interested in playing in a RP Baseball World Series?
I'm just trying to gauge interest before I go to the trouble of working out how it would work.
I for one think it would be awesome!

A general framework (this is subject to change, but this is how I originally envisioned it) is that hosting for the tournament would rotate among willing and able active former champions, chosen by whatever method (random, a "bid process", however), but with it returning to TUIB every however many years, or if there are no active former champions willing and able to host.
Nations interested would participate in a qualifying round, but the host and the last however many we agree upon champions would get an automatic berth to a best-of-however many tournament, consisting of a total of n teams, where n is an integer power of two.
Scorination would be based on statistics. Basically, I envision each player has his basic statistics (ERA, record, etc. for pitchers; batting average, career home runs, etc. for everyone else--all the standard stuff) as well as what I call "situational statistics"--i.e. on-base percentage in ninth inning with one out, two on base, and a 2-2 count. These statistics would be assigned randomly, but biased by a "talent pool" factor for each nation, which would be based on a nation's "baseball madness" (how that is calculated is yet to be determined, but I imagine it would be based upon its previous World Series performance and its cultural tendency towards individualism or collectivism--of all the team sports, baseball is decidedly the most individual-oriented) and its total population.
This scorination system may prove to be unworkably complex, however--in that case I'd be willing to come up with something simpler.
And at any rate, this is just a basic framework and I'm open to ideas.

I would suggest setting up a fantasy league if you want to do this. I've got one on Yahoo, for instance, that's all NSers. You could do the same and RP stuff in the II forum.

No, that defeats the whole point.
1) Each World Series would last six months
2) You would be limited to the number of teams currently in MLB
3) Just isn't how we do those kind of things on NS, nor should it be
