NS Womens World Cup of Football I

Chicanada
04-04-2006, 20:10
As proposed by the Chicanada FA in the NSWC27 Thread, Chicanada would be honored to invite the NS world to compete in a little footy competition on our soil to help determine the best women's team in the world.

Obviously, the event would fall after both the current World Cup as well as the Ylompics, where the women's game has made a major splash on the international stage. We of course understand if the major players on the world stage choose not to compete, as many teams have intergrated their national clubs, but we'd love to see you still send you up-and-commers anyways, just to help expand the game some more.

At the moment, the format is set for up to 31 additional teams. Should we exceed that goal, the CFA will orchestrate a draw in order to establish qualifying before the tournament takes place throughout the Kodiak Nation.

We look forward to seeing the future of football showing up in Chicanada very soon!

Sign-ups will close on APRIL 9TH :) at 8pm GMT-7 (aka Mountain Time Zone, USA).

Hosts
As Chicanada proposed it, we hope it would be ok if we hosted the tournament. We will be in touch to get a second scorinator for the Kodiak matches should they advance out of the group stage

Stadias to be used:
Astur City Stadia, Cana
Cananite Pavillion, Paradiso
Depot Centre, Cana
Easten National Exhibition Hall, Eastentown
Island Clan Stadia, Palace Heights
Mountainside Fairgrounds, Castille
New Governess Palace, Kinsington
Southampton National Square
Steelgrounds, Atens
Stock City Grounds, Jaxx
Strikers Fieldhouse, Star Point

SNS will not be used, however, until the Grand Finals, as it is hosts to Chicanada's Summer Sports Festival.

Scorinator

NSFootySim. There will be some +/- 2 ratings of course.

Ranking
After thinking about it and seeing commentary in the Discussion thread, ranks would start on the second cup. All teams for this Cup will be starting at 0.
Milchama
04-04-2006, 20:18
Milchama would be glad to compete in such a competition as this as soon as we find enough women to play soccer seriously or at least recruit enough.
Starblaydia
04-04-2006, 20:25
Though we can't promise the best Starblaydi women (in the delightful forms of Dasha Tolkacheva, Cherry Garcia, and Jade Matranga) in the world will be there, Starblaydia will send an all-female team.
New Montreal States
04-04-2006, 20:47
We'll sign up, this should be interesting.
Uploaded Minds
04-04-2006, 21:06
Anastasiania would like to send a team.
McPsychoville
04-04-2006, 22:07
While McPsychoville will be sending a team, we would like to protest at the use of the Ylompic Games results to determine a nation's ranking within the Cup. We, personally, chose not to take part in the Ylompics, and as such, we feel it is unfair for us to penalised in this tournament because of it.

Yours sincerely,
Alex Shelley, Minister for Sports
Haraki
04-04-2006, 22:08
Haraki would like to sign up. An all-female team will be there, although given that Haraki's regular team incorporates men and women, not all Haraki's best may be in attendance.
Wentland
04-04-2006, 22:43
Given that no women have broken into the male team yet, Wentland decides to have a punt.
San Haven
04-04-2006, 22:46
Football (Soccer) is a very popular sport & played on the national levels by both men & women. We wish to enter, however did not take part in the Yolmpics or whatever it was...
Krytenia
04-04-2006, 22:57
Krytenia, along with their Aces men's side, and their Jacks AOCAF side, present the Krytenia Queens Ladies' Football Team, managed by former Men's Team international Gail Castro.
Swilatia
04-04-2006, 22:59
swilatia will be signingup for this.
The Gupta Dynasty
04-04-2006, 23:12
Yafor 2 are in.
Algal states
04-04-2006, 23:24
Algal States will sign up.
The Islands of Qutar
05-04-2006, 00:40
The Islands of Qutar decides to see if the women can do any better
Kelse
05-04-2006, 01:27
Kelse would like to sign-up for the Womens World Cup.
Virginia Nova
05-04-2006, 02:21
Virginia Nova would like to see how our women do?
Sarzonia
05-04-2006, 02:23
Sarzonia would be honoured to send a women's national team to compete.
Fmjphoenix
05-04-2006, 04:00
Sure, why not. The women of Fmjphoenix would enjoy the chance to tear it up.
Becquerelia
05-04-2006, 04:01
Becquerelia's ladies are ready to give this a shot.
Qazox
05-04-2006, 05:49
The most Serene Republic of Qazox would most be amused to see how our team of women will do versus the other teams of women. (esp. since 3 of my last four presidents have been women they'd jump at the chance)
Spaam
05-04-2006, 06:32
Sign us up.
Spruitland
05-04-2006, 09:09
Even though approximately 50% of Spruitland's population feels "football" and "women" do not belong in the same sentence, the Spruitland Wabbit-Chicks are in the Ylompic semi-final so we can hardly deny them participation in the World Cup.

Please tell me that's sarcasm.

Apologetic Kittens
05-04-2006, 12:50
The Kittens sign up, though unfortunately the womens game isn't big in APK. Perhaps this will be a catalyst.

Yes, they're going to keep the sign-ups open till September. It couldn't possibly be that the Americans have a different, stupid way of writing date, no, it has to be keeping them open until September.

Heh.

Sorry, I'm a dorky bloke from the middle of nowhere, USA. Sign-ups are until Sunday night at 8pm in my Time Zone (GMT -7, I think). I may keep it open longer if we're still low on teams.

And thanks to the already many teams planning on competing!

I have nothing wrong with you hosting the tourney, but I propose that you use NSFootySim for Scorination istead of an obsolete spreadsheet scorinator.

Yeah, Mountian Time is GMT -7. I should know, I'm a -6'er (go Chicago!).
Casari
06-04-2006, 01:44
We'll happily send a bunch of loud soccer-playing females to take part in the event.

Does it really *matter* what scorinator he uses as long as it's not dice or making up scores?

*crosses dice and making up scores off the list of possible scorinators...and I was looking forward to just making shit up*

Of course, I shall then use NSFootySim.
Liverpool England

Sure, we'll send the women's under 23's.

Also, Chicanada, NSfootySim's modifier range is -5 to +5, not -2 to +2, and thats why I prefer it over spreadsheets

Actually, NSfooty has an advantage: It has a wider style range.

You have until this evening to sign up. Considering it's a small tourney, the scores and rosters and rps and group draw will all be in the same thread.

As for modifiers...I'm still going with a +/-2 modifier, even if NSFooty is designed for up to 5.

+/- 2 is soooo restricting because my 3-3-4 is really more like +3 or so but with +/- 2 I'm forced to do +2 which really isn't right and makes me more offensive. The choice with +/- 5 is much greater and helps seperate teams that play an offensive 3-4-3 or what not with an ultra offensive 2-0-8 (which one Milchama club plays btw).

...

Ok, +/-5 it is. Even though I still think a more limited range is just as workable for this tourney.

I still dont think it makes sense limit it more than the scoririnator requires you to. I just don't.
