Tsunami Strike

New-Lexington

---Irmo, New-Lexington---
Lexitonian Press United reports today that a massive tsunami struck the northern coast of New-Lexington near the major city of Irmo early this morning, causing catastrophic damage, and deaths. Early estimates put the death toll around 175,000, at the least. In a speech to the U.N. just minutes ago, Supreme President Drew Harris pleaded for international aid “Our resources are already stretched thin with heavy war in Danteri, and we are not able to pull our forces out at the moment. The people of New-Lexington are in desperate need of your help. Please, we beg of you to send police forces to keep order, and massive amounts of aid to help our people. After all, the kind people of New-Lexington have shown that they would help a neighbor in distress, after they overwhelmingly voted to help the Danteri government. That is all.”

I, too, am at war along side your people in Danteri. I will send a small force of police, would a thousand do? It is as much as we can give.

Gwazzaria laments that it is not able to send any medical aid for the people of New-Lexington, and sends its sympathies. With our Expeditionary Companies tied up in the Danteri war, and our police assisting the nation of Tzeitel-Yanna, we cannot spare anymore foreign aid.

We would like to indicate this as another reason to resolve, peacefully, the Danteri conflict as soon as possible. Wars serve to keep humanitarian agencies spread thin and unable to properly combat the devastation of national disasters.

The Republic of Krioval wishes to convey our condolences. We are prepared to offer mobile evacuation centers, temporary shelter, and logistical support to the government of New-Lexington. However, we do not wish to enter into either side of an ongoing conflict. If the government of New-Lexington could provide the Republic with an update of the conflict and the reasons for its current state of war, the Republic will be better able to assess how our manpower and supplies are best allocated.

"They're involved in a civil war?"

"That appears to be the case, Director."

Jevo sighed loudly. "Are they on the right side?"

"That is difficult to say."

"Leave the response to me."

"Yes, Director."

The Republic of Krioval is most concerned about developments in Danteri, and the involvement of various governments therein. Aid will be sent, but we are to not be drawn into a massively international conflict. We trust that our position will be recognized and affirmed.

It is my sorrowful duty to report that so far, the body count has reached over 125,000 dead. Our nation requests that Maraque and San Haven send less money, but more manpower and raw supplies. "This relief is much needed, we thank all nations for their support. We thank those who offer military and police assistance, although no more is needed. The current number of aid workers from the countries who responded first is enough. The water purifiers have been a great help, as a cholera epidimic had been ravaging the camps. The once great city of Irmo has now been wiped of the map, but it will be rebuilt. Right now the current sitiation is very tedious, as weather forecasters are watching heavy squalls off the west coast of where the tsunami hit. The precise toll is as follows: 97,832 people confirmed dead and 283,382 still missing. We aslo ask for the continued prayers of the world. Thank you"

-Irmo, New-Lexington-
Today in te tsunami ravaged city of Irmo, rioters clashed with riot police in suburban areas, causing the greatest outbreak of violence in the region in over 30 years. The rioters, all black, complained that more releief supplies were being given to the white community. Although the government denies this, blacks in other cities also took to the streets to protest this "unfair treatment". This new incident has threatened to set fire to an old issue, racial divisions to be exact.

Princess Subaru waisted no time. Her mother of course was tied up with business as usual, not easy to be a queen you know. She landed on shores, bet kept a low profile, not even sure if anyone would bother to recognize her as the heirss to Aqua Anu.

Her body guard followed closely beside.

"What a mess. This is heart breaking. The worst I've seen, and I've seen plenty of tidal waves, and small tsunamis."

"Looks very bad, Your Highness. Perhaps we should just ship as much as we can provide."

"We have to plan this out accordingly. Make sure there is plenty of shipments for everyone."

She hung a left, moving into a devestated part of the areas.

"Oh Milady I'm not sure you want to go in here, it's a colord area."

She looked at him with suprise, and near disgust. Subaru was a very tolerant girl.

"I'm sorry, what I meant is, it's a poorer part of town. Primarly black racial. You milady, are NOT black. IT could spure some conflict."

"You sound like my mother, besides, I'm mildly tan. What I'm worried about is the fact they might NOT be getting the relife they need because they are the minority. Just do your job, and protect me."

"Yes ma'am."

Danteri Government Official Statement
(General Krieger)
We are sorry that our loyal ally has suffered so miserably, and must extend our sympathies to the victims and their families. Hopefully, this disaster might motivate some international cooperation. As such, in spite of our internal problems, Danteri would like to offer, in addition to our sympathies, the following:
- 10,000 bottles of water.
- 5,000 MREs.
Hopefully, this small offer might be of some help, as we are currently unable to send much more, our nation being sorely in need of help itself. However, help must be offered to all in need.

Foreign affairs minister Richard Saben shut off the TV during the broadcast of the recent rioting In Irmo. "Prime minister we need to do something about this mess! Should I send peacekeepers and the riot control divison?"
"Doesn't that divison specialize in situations like this?" Affairs minister "Yes sir." Prime minister "then send them along with Peacekeepers and any needed relief supplies and personel." Then the Prime minister Firmly said "and tell the government of New-Lexington this is only a peacekeeping mission, we are not going to be involved in the expanding war in Danteri."

Message to Wolfensland,
If you would like, your transport aircraft could use Ustia's airfield close by the city of Irmo that we are currently constructing. It would be a safe area to unload the cargo and get the supplies out to the people. I ask you this so your involvement in this matter could be limited if thats what you want. This is only optional.

Minister of Foreign affairs,
Richard Saben
