It had been three days since the attack on Asherton. The attack claimed the lives of several thousand people with many more missing and presumed either dead or captured. The Aumanii Fleet remained in orbit, seeing if the pirates were coming back.
It was evident that the weapons technology that was allowable by the ISK-Tiburonese Treaty was not sufficient enough to defend Asherton from pirates, let alone a determined attacker.

SUBJECT: Renegotiation
We have recently suffered attacks from pirates. While we previously believed the conditions of the treaty to be sufficient, our lack of success against what used to be a low or slightly moderate threat is now fairly evident. The treaty grants us the right to call for renegotiation at any time, and we are therefore calling for such at the present time.
We await your reply.
