Warning – Kiss of Blood is Dark, it may be violent, contain mature themes and language, and is not for the faint hearted.
Vampires are not nice people, they have moved away from humanity, most retaining little of what may have made them ‘wonderful friends and companions’ in life. Their POV’s are very different, their priorities are different.

Kiss of Blood is set in no specific year, but the tech is PMT- post modern tech – Pan An lifts off every Monday evening to take the very wealthy to vacations on the International Space Station and Luna Colony. You can’t go wrong if you have Blackberries or wifi’d laptops on every hip, and vehicles running on fuel cells, or pure electric. 110 inch nanotech tv’s are reasonably priced, and possibly passé. Sub orbital commuter flights are considered ‘just part of the job’ for many mid and upper level management.
These pages do not hold every thing; I know there is much more. More clans and bloodline sub groups. Greater levels of the Disciplines, and indeed new Disciplines…However these are all we really need. If you have write ups of Disciplines not listed or other information, etc, please feel free to get them to me and I'll be glad to look them over for incorporation. I couldn't find anything on-line about ‘Strengths/ Weaknesses, and my copies of White Wolf's First edition of Vampire the Masquerade < VtM >aren't available to me right now, so it is incomplete from a sieve like memory.
The reason I chose VtM as the basis for Kiss of Blood’s Vampires, their history and abilities? Easy - there is a lot available, it gets every player on the same page so to speak as to what abilities their characters can have and gives a good idea of what they can do, how much they can do and a logical frame work for doing it. No I’m certainly not expecting people to roll dice. All this information is just to provide a framework for your vampires and their capabilities
Please Note! I am not using anything from the Bloodline VTM computer game. Nor am I using much from World of Darkness. I am using only Vampire the Masquerade First Edition, and selected additions.
All of this is taken from WW's VtM, first edition. And no copyright infringement is intended. They worked hard to create an awesome game and gaming system, and they deserve every acknowledgement.

If I ever get the time, I'll take a look at this. I loved VTM, interesting and fun play. The history and background hits a good chord with me too.
Though it did consume my social life for about three weeks.
I am always willing to help any one interested in joining in coming up with a character.
Your character does not have to be some newly made vampire, but then again I'm not going to allow Antediluvians.
As I mentioned this is not being set in the Real World - oh cities such as Paris, countries such as Spain certainly do, but this is Nations States, and such are just mentions not where the action will be happening.
The start is set in and around the independant city of Carnival. It belongs to no nation, but really isn't a nation in its own right. It hs no army, navy, airforce - it gets protected through various agreements with various governments.
Other than police, or Sewers & Water < but not trash pick up > all what are generally known as 'city services' are handled by private companies, and if you fail to pay your bills, well ...
It's all glitter and glam, bright neon light, stardust, smoke and mirrors, covering some places where the dark is positively rampant.
It's the wealthiest of the wealthy come to live their dreams, in totally uninhibited fashion, with every desire, every vice one can dream of there for a price...
It's a small but solid core of middle class who stay out of the dark, and just shake their heads at the antics of the wealthy.
And the Powers That Be think they run the place...they couldn't be more wrong...
The vampires do...
Life is all too short. It really is. We see one hundred years of life as a life time, of seeing everything there is to see; knowing all there can be to know. However, to some that lurk in our midsts, one hundred years is no more than a month, a day, a breath. To these individuals, life is nothing more than a dream or a set of memories that we can look back on, to remember the past. To the vampyr, life is an eternity of memories, and nothing more.
Davos Santari was born in the year 975. It was a time of war and strife, the Church ruled through fear, kings through extortion, and some by strength alone. Cantor Santari was what many would call a mercenary, a soldier for hire. He was more than that, more than a grunt for the charge. He was a strategist, a warrior, a hunter, a teacher, and above all, a Spaniard. His blade was feared, his cunning rarely matched, and his talents behind closed doors matched a reputation. Yet even he could not refrain from the most powerful of human desires: love. He was in Germany, fighting one of the many wars for the king, when he met Matilda, a bar maid of descent from Alsace. He stayed with her, letting the war go on. They married, and bore a child, whom Cantor named Davos, in honor of his closest friend.
Davos grew up as would any son of a mercenary. He traveled with his father, learning the tricks of the trade, so to say. Cantor taught Davos how to fight, to track, to hunt and kill, and of course how to romance the fairer sex. Davos grew in conflict, baptized in the blood of war, his body kept nourished by the money and land granted for his father’s great service. He followed in his father’s foot steps, becoming a mercenary of skill.
One could say it’s almost ironic that he found his true calling in death. It was the year 1000, and Davos was the tool of the Church, a warrior for God. He hunted the enemies of Christ, yet, as fear of the world’s end, witches and undead, and the coming of Satan himself gripped humanity, he pushed on, looking for heretics. To him, the paranormal, the enemies of God and man, vampires, witches, and changelings were all figments of the imagination, nothing more than ideas that came to those who felt they needed a reason to be afraid.
His talents were well noticed, and his moves watched by those who live in the night. The idea was simple: when on mission in Constantinople, he would be embraced. The willing sire, a third generation female of wealth and beauty would seduce him, take him back to her quarters, and embrace him. However, the best laid plans of mice and men, as they say, and Davos fought back. As his sire bit into his neck, he pulled away, and fought. He wounded her, although not mortally, and she recovered quickly. It was decided that he was still needed, and so, despite mortal wounding, he was continually sired. He has not one sire, but four, his third generation initial sire, two fourth generations, and a being of great importance-The Prince of Eastern Europe and creator of the Ord Dracul, a second generation whose sire was rumored to be the Lord Dracula himself.
Weeks passed by as Davos turned, embracing the dark. When he was finally revived, he felt hatred for those who turned him, and yet a great deal of thanks. He had never been a special warrior. He was good, yes, but nothing amazing. The new found powers manifesting themselves in him granted him strength and power to do what no human could do. After months of coaxing, he finally accepted his fate to walk the land as kindred, the undead, a vampire.
Davos did well in his chosen occupation, hunting enemies of the clan. There was one enemy in particular he did well against: the lycans. It didn’t matter what they were called, were people, dog soldiers, werewolves, thropes, he hunted them all, and with great success. He honed his skills, his powers, his strengths, and became an institution within itself of the Eastern European Conclave. He moved through history, helping other Conclaves grow and strengthen working through out Europe. His talents in the field of combat and the field of humanities served him well. By the year 1300, he was the right hand man of whatever Conclave needed him most.
He was in England in the year 1568 when he met her. She was young, a mere 150 years embraced, and gorgeous. She had been a servant of one of the courts, a warrior spy for one of the kings. Her name, Claire, flowed from the tongue like honey, her soft black hair reflecting a purple hue in the moonlight, her ice blue eyes piercing. If a vampire could love, Davos did. He trained her, taught her the ways of combat, how to deceive the lycans, how to fight them in their own ground and on the ground of the kindred. She became his partner in both unlife and combat.
They moved through time together, helping the English primogen start his Conclave. They helped build and strengthen till it was the strongest in the modern world. Its influences reached far beyond the tiny group of islands, into Central Europe and the growing North America. In time, Claire and Davos had become some of the best lycan hunters in the land, but all was soon to change.
From here on to the next notice, this is all OOC knowledge ONLY. NO ONE KNOWS THIS INFO!!
Centuries later, the tides had changed. It was an era that we humans, who still think one hundred years is an eternity, called the sixties, as if it meant anything. There had been millennia of “sixties” gone past, and millennia to soon follow. Davos and Claire found themselves in the center of American vampirism, New Orleans, Louisiana. The city prince had his eyes on Claire from the day the two had arrived to solve an issue with a local Gangrel clan, and knew he must have her.
Vampires are by far the best power players, knowing exactly what to do to get exactly what they want in any situation. The prince of New Orleans was no different. He knew that Claire was out of reach till Davos was gone. It was he that made Davos the most effective lycan and vampire hunter around, sending him on suicide mission after suicide mission, only strengthening his skills. The prince built a hatred for Davos that was unmatched, wishing him only to fail once. It was then he sent Davos on a mission he was guaranteed to fail. South America had always been a hot bed of supernatural activity, and a few upstarts in Rio were making trouble for the trafficking of blood to the northern Americas. Davos was to go to Brazil, and wipe out all vampire existence. Not just the ones causing trouble, but every little bit.
After weeks of hearing nothing, the prince made his move on Claire. For five nights straight, she resisted him, all his advances. His anger grew till finally, he enacted a final solution. If he could not have the vampiress, no one could. He ordered her into his chambers, shot her, and whilst she tried to recover, he drained every once of blood she held. It was moments later when Davos walked in the room, only to see his love dead, and the prince standing over her.
End of OOC Knowledge
There are no accounts of what happened from then on, however, vampiric activity in Louisiana as a whole has since decreased near 72%. There has been no contact with the New Orleans conclave in over thirty years, but reports are that it is slowly rebuilding. Davos' actions, movements, and location have been difficult at best, impossible often, to track. Very few know where he is or how to locate him, some saying that he will find those who need him, not vice versa. What ever it is, all know that he is dangerous, and not a force to be taken lightly, regardless of your specie.
Stats:
Appearance/Dress: Davos, more often than not, dresses to fit in, often wearing Armani and other high end suits in a conservative fassion. His personal favorite color combonations are crimson or blood red shirts with black suit jackets, pants, and ties. When hunting, attacking, or generally being violent, he takes one of two outifits: one that rivals a modern tactical specialist, black on black with load bearing kits and the like, and one used more to inspire fear than not, black pants and shirt worn under an Abby Shot Cleric Customfit coat. Physically, he his gaunt, with strong features, with two tattoos, one on either arm, and a few minor scars along his back and arms, only to remind him of days gone past. File Photo (http://content.answers.com/main/content/wp/en/thumb/f/f1/260px-PrestonLG.jpg)
Bloodline: Despite having four distinct sires, Davos is of a single bloodline, the Lasombra Anti Tribue. This group of vampires is the Lasombra bloodline that opperates under the Camarilla, often pulling as much sway and power as the Ventrue. All of the Lasombra bloodline have very distinct powers, including such a mastery of Obfuscate, that some pray they never come in contact with one of this bloodline. On the heirchial level, Davos is a Justicar, and a very, very powerfull one at that.
Equipment: Davos, despite his long background of hunting and killing, carries no specific firearms. He will use whatever he has access to, as long as it gets the job done. The one weapon he does carry is a katana, used in challenges and other times when needed. The Japanese sword fits his fighting style well, allowing him to use both stiff, agressive manuvers, and fluid, gracefull attacks.
Disciplines
Obfuscate/Obtenebration-Beyond advanced, Davos as the ability to not only move in and out of the shadows, but to literaly control them, using them as a weapon, and being able to manifest them phyisically to do harm to others. He can even create weapons out of the shadows around him, and often uses them to torture his victims. Rumor exists that with further mastery, he can do more than summon shadows, but send his enemies to a dark world of abyss
Celerity-Very advanced, Davos can move at speeds that, to some, cannot even be processed. While not as advanced as some of the master vampires who can literally teleport, Davos can still move at speeds that allow him to, with warning, dodge bullets, speeding cars, and attacks from his opponents
Prescence-Slightly beyond basic, Davos can seduce most women (and men, should he ever decide to "swing" that way) into a state of awe and wonder
Potence-Davos is extremely strong, strong enough to lift and toss a city buss with ease
Strengths and Weaknesses: Time sensative, Dogs Detest, Naturally Stealthy, Hunted
Anything else, just ask.
Would you object to a Son of Discord/Daughter of Cacophony character?
TG me a write up and some info about the clan/ group - it's not one I am familiar with but that certainly does nt disqualify!
"I'm all that..." A snap of fingers so hard and crisp the sound savages one like a bullet to the heart, the flick of the wrist leaving a trail of eyeblurr. "Jazz." (http://www.atddm.com/jazz1a.htm) The voice as warm as honeyed sin, richly intimate...
I was made a vampire on the day he was born. September 16, 1638. My exquisite looks are courtesy my mother who was one of the greatest courtesans Venice ever produced, and I bear her stamp. My hair was thick, full, and ebon as the night. My eyes are a living darkness, and my skin was the fineness of silk. All these years later, I am unchanged. No one living remembers my name, I seldom do any more – the ones I have take over the years are the ‘me’ that is now. Me, for just me.
From that fateful day at St. Germain where Anne of Austria gave Louis XIII his first and only child; Louis XIV, he who would in time become known as the Sun King - I his Watcher- Guardian, and Mistress of one of the greatest spy networks the world has ever known. I had trained since the day I was born; I was conceived and birthed for this sole purpose by my sire and dam ( oh not the greatest of vampires who brought me past the veil ) but the noble lady and lord who were my parents. Their noble family owed its existence and fortune to him, thus they eagerly did his bidding.
So until his death in 1715 I served Louis and the interests of my Master. With Louis’s death my obligation dissolved. Louis’s son was a vast disappointment to my Master whose interest turned elsewhere. I too, was more than something of a disappointment to my Master. He was never able to fully control me, as he quickly discovered my strength of will and unbondableness. My mind was sharp and quick to find way of pursuing my own interests while seeming to do my Master's bidding.
I drifted though the rich world of sensuality that flowered in Europe during that age for many years, living well off the moneys I had gathered assiduously. I traveled to the rude lands of Egypt and northern Africa to discover their histories, and to the cold and chill of far Russian steppes in the company of the Tsar. I even briefly visited the new world and marveled at the bustling life that imbued all those who came there.
I traveled the mysterious and engaging east for a time, but my heart returned me to France. France of the early 1900s was a beleaguered thing, and the Great War devastated her. I busied myself with other matters, and ignored the worlds doings for a time only to find the world on the brink of yet another ‘World War’. The Nazi’s ambition and ruthlessness was clear to me and when France surrendered to them I removed myself to the 'Sceptered Isle' and there had some few adventures. Driving an ambulance through the bombing of London had a certain danger about it.
However France, she no longer called to me, and as the war ended I felt adrift, rootless once again. I decided it was time to move west to the wider lands and hunting grounds of America. Besides, I like Jazz.
As much as I do adore the energy of the Americans, I find that I am not content in any one place. And to be a Prince? "Mon dieu save me from that boredom!" So my perigrinations take me from place to place. Not necessarily welcome, but too feared to be given less than the utmost respect. I take on 'adventures' that interest me from time to time.
Most don't believe that I was embraced so short a time ago not even five hundred years, prefering to say that I was embraced long before. That no one Embraced has ever turned in the space of a day, much less come to the fullness of their powers in that scant a time. Few still extant have ever been Embraced by one that might well have been Caine himself. And no one knows the fullness of my powers. Most are too intellegent to attempt to sus them out.
I shrug and go my way. I refuse to immerse myself in the pettiness of vampire gossip - though I know well it's uses and collect it aussidiously. Nor do I bend to the presumptions of the Camarilla, or the Followers of Set, or the Anarchs or others and no clan claims me.
I am what I am, and that can someone who is death to cross.
Here's the basics, background will be added later.

What is insantity? Insanity does not exist. Sanity is a creation of the media. They wish you to beleive you are a healthy young chap, full of life and vitality. You are not. You are a rotting hunk of flesh. Some beleive the Malkvian to be insane. We are not. We are masters, gods, and creators. Magicians, painters, and muisicians. We are gods of our own worlds. What is reality? Reality is in one's head. If one simply beleives that something is true, it is true, and if enough people beleive it to be truth, it is fact. Malkvians are the creators of reality. We shape the world to suit us. The world is our canvas, and your minds are our paint.
Name Athos Mann
Brief Desciption Hair of blue, pink, purple, green, orange in a tangled mess covers the man's head. His skin is pale, and appears to radiate colors. His eyes are the most unusual thing about him. One is completely white, no bloodveins appearing in it, and the other contains every color in the rainbow. His dress is usually tattered, stained, and odd. Yellow raincoats, beer hats, eyepatches are all in his wardrobe.
Clan Those damnedable Malkvians!
Welcome Kappelia, and there is a TG headed your way.
Filthy animals.
The chase is now reaching its final segment before the kill. For four nights now he has hunted the lupine, stalking it from roadside motel to roadside motel, making sure to remain hidden, his identity secret, while ensuring that it knows that something is tracking it, inexorably closing in. For four nights now he has sat at the other end darkened motel bars, smiling coldly as he sees its aura change over time, its fear becoming ever stronger. Four nights he has hunted the beast, four nights he has had the chance to confront and slay it, but he has not. For he fully appreciates not only the adrenaline burst of the final battle, but also the sight of his quarry driving itself mad with paranoia, the fanged smiling in the dark as he sends his familiar to write a cryptic warning on the slumbering prey's bedroom wall in the blood of the nameless corpse at his feet.
All this theatricality seems unnecessary, and of course it is. For him this is not a matter of life or death, it is a diversion. A hobby. After all, one must find some way with which to pass four-hundred and fifty years of undeath, otherwise one goes mad with boredom.
Speaking of blood, when was the last time I fed?
Although it has not yet become serious, his hunger gnaws at him. He has not fed since two nights ago when he fed on the ravaged body of a drug-deranged whore in a motel carpark. The cattle bitch had offered herself for the money for her next fix. In a fit of peverse humour he had mesmerised her, had his way with her for free, then snapped her neck and fed from her ravaged, needle-punctured veins. His thirst quenched, he had taken her naked, almost skeletal body and left it in the passenger seat of the lupine's car, licking the last of her drug-laced blood from his thin lips and bony chin.
He begins to ponder the woman next to him as a source of sustenance. She has already kindly offered to drive him to Carnival, the apparent next destination of the lupine: a mesmerising stare and she is his to command. Having been born in Tudor England he prefers to trust his innate abilities over technological advances, and has therefore never learnt to drive. He can appreciate that it is a nice car, though. He roomed in a more expensive hotel the previous night, although the only guests had been himself, the lycan, and the dupe driving him, and it has certainly payed off. The sleek blue convertable moves at an enormous speed, although the ride is even and comfortable. The seats too are magnificent, plush leather that fits his body perfectly.
However, it is the woman driving him that captures his attention. Her slim frame is barely hidden by a tight pair of jeans and a loose, slightly translucent shirt. A pair of dark glasses are balanced on her nose, above full red lips. Her dark brown hair tumbles down her back in rolling cascades. She is, in a word, beautiful. He has spoken to her a little on the journey, although he prefers to remain in silence, and she appears captivated by his intelligence and biting sense of humour. Of course, his interest in her is entirely platonic. She is healthy, unlike his last meal, and her blood is untainted. Her jugular vein stands out against her tanned neck, pulsing slightly with each heartbeat.
He turns slightly towards her and smiles inwardly as she responds without any audible signal from him. She has been staring. He motions to her, and then to the layby. She blushes, and his heightened senses immediately pick up a rush of pheromones. Apparently his earlier mental invasion hasn't worn off. She smiles and pulls over. He opens the passenger door, then walks around the car and opens hers. Taking her hand he helps her out of the car and leads her into the trees by the side of the road. He leads her into a small clearing, then begins to point out the constellations to her, names that he remembers for his vampiric youth, gained from hours of study and research. She looks up to gaze at Orion's belt, her eyes bright with wonder.
Possibly hoping to undo it. Stupid whore.
Her throat bared, he springs into action. His fangs sink in before she can hope to scream or resist. Besides, who would hear her? They were alone on the road, and they were alone in this clearing. And she could not possibly hope to resist him. He stares into her eyes as she dies, her throat mimicing her mouth in its "o" of suprise. He coldly reads the fear and shock, his cold grey eyes boring into her deep brown ones. Then, resting her head against his shoulder, he begins to feed, washing away the bitterness of his last meal.

I do need to have some idea of Generation for both new characters.
and just remember it's not necessary to kill when one feeds, but the rush of 'death blood' is very powerful and rather addictive, isn't it?

Is it closed yet?
Yes Kiss of Blood is certainly open to new players - however I do need a short bio/description posted in this thread. And I really do advise reading the first fifteen posts or so to get the basic set up of what has happened.
Also the first couple of my posts in this thread gives a huge amount of really needed information.

Can a character be a member of the Order of the Garter?
This society is formally known as the Order of the Knights of St. George. A Catholic military arm, members of the order are sent out to root out and destroy all things unclean, from vampires and lycans all the way to demonic possessions and incarnations of demonic messengers. Members of the Order are not without powers, though they vary in style and degree even more than those of vampires and werewolves. Some can control one of the four elemental states (Magmus, Aquas, Biolos, and Meteorus), while others have passive immunities (Vampire Power use: REJECTED!) I have played as a Garter knight in the real version of Kiss of Blood. Died, but hey, I want to try again.
The real version of the Kiss of Blood? Hmmmmm didn't know there was a real one so to speak. Nothing turned up on Google, but not even theyknow everything LOL.
Certainly you can. Warning - it sounds like both sides ( so to speak )will end up your enemies - and a huge grin because there's actually a third side...oh wait that makes it a fourth, or do the sisters of Selene make it a fourth
I think I need a score card...anyhoooo.
Please write up a bio and powers list and post it here.

Yes and no. First, the actual Kiss of Blood game is actually called something like Vampire: the Blood Game, or another dark, gothic title. It is played in the exact same way as Dungeons & Dragons is played, albeit with much less free-forming. There are dice, stat sheets, character creation cards, and the like. I am not sure, but the creators probably saw how awesome D&D is, so they either based it on the same format, or are the same people (former employees of Wizards of the Coast.) Point is, there are books, score cards, and pretty much everything else you find in D&D, only its all about the Vampires.
Now, as for my character, he is based on one of the following (yet to decide, but all have same origin: the crucifixion of Jesus.):
1) A lesser version of Casca Rufio Longinus. Casca was the actual Killer of God, for this, he was cursed beyond Cain. He has no special powers, merely incredible resistance. His white blood cells are hyper active, so he can't get sick. His DNA is perfect, so when his cells regenerate, it doesn't cause weakening of tissue, plus it keeps his body at a constant age of thirty-ish. Casca eats as a normal person, drinks as a normal person, and even makes love, but he is unable to father children. Should he suffer a wound great enough to cause death, he will die, and he can be hurt. However, his body heals rapidly (think Wolverine) and will repair itself enough for him to come back to life, at which time further healing will commence. If deprived of food, his body will metabolize sustenance slower, and if suffocated, his mind shuts down, sending him into catatonic slumber till oxygen is resupplied. Finally, his blood is lethal as a poison: ingestion or contamination at an open wound is all that is needed to kill a man. For this reason, he will never be eaten alive. To a vampire, his blood is either death or a cure, yet to figure out which. Finally, Casca is the pinnacle of human fitness: strong and agile, he is a martial arts master of every type. few have known him that do not fear him, and he is immune to many forms of torture, having experienced pretty much everything. He never stops thinking clearly, so vampiric powers of illusion are useless against him, and a werewolf in transformed state automatically fears his presence. He has no weakness, other than a small preference to not feel pain, as the healing processes stimulate nerves, causing him pain (but not delusions.) By the Way, all this is already made up. Read Casca: the Eternal Mercenary by Barry Sadler for the full history of this mercenary.
That was choice one. Choice 2) a descendant or follower of the Four. The Four were, of course, the four legionaires at Golgotha with Casca, who each took a portion of Jesus' cloak. As such, they were cursed/blessed. Each of them was given mastery over a different elemental state: Magmus (Fire, Rocks, Lava, Earth), Aquas (Water, Ice, Oceania), Organus (Carbon-based, plants, animals, plagues, poison, etc.) and Meteorus (Weather, Wind, Electricity). None could die until a son had defeated the father in combat, at which time the father would gain renewed mortality (they age, but their facilities are resistant) and the son would inherit full power (previous to this, the son could be exceptionally strong and powerful, but only by defeating his father could he obtain that final mastery). The other sons, would of course, sire children, and some people would be brought in for having obtained some elemental mastery without being descended from the Four. Lastly, unlike Casca, whose powers are passive and thus is only a human at the pinnacle of prowess, The four have powers which require control, and are far more conspicuous. Thus, they struck a bargain: shelter given by the followers of the one whose cloak they took in exchange for assistance when the time came. When at last it was safe for the Church to begin pursuing evil in all its forms, the Order, as it was now called, was given their duty: investigate any and all activity that aids and assists the Dark Prince and his foul deeds, identify the nature of the threat, and eradicate it.
Granted, I can't have a character that is one of the current Four or Casca (hey, I'd waltz in and wipe the floor with your dead, smelly carcasses), but would have to find a balance between making him too weak/too strong. I'll get back to you all on it, but that is what I have for now
I'm sorry this will take a minute to reply to - and I mean no insult by it - but I have to get my howls of laughter under control..
KAtG, D&D is far older than any designer with WoC... D&D is the brain child of EGG (E. Gary Gygax) and I've been playing it since before WoC was an idea in the founder's heads. Nearly 30 years a GM and Player -
and would you perhaps be thinking of the White Wolf Story Teller System title : Vampire; the Masquerade? ( for that is the system we're useing for vampires in this game ) -
And I have the original printings of Barry's Casca books - at least the first thirteen or so - you know the only the first two were actually authored by him, the later ones by other's under his name. - He died in 89, sadly.
And you can go with either variation as you prefer...but as to taking down our smelly corpses...
Jazz, is a second or third generation vampire ( wouldn't people give much to know which), and she does NOT smell, and for a corpse she is remarkably lively...
Davos is a third generation who has over a thousand years under His belt and I sincerely think he might well take exception to being called smelly as well...
And while Jazz is not the out and out combatant that Davos is, she can more than hold her own.
So, in all fun and a great story line, in the immortal words of more than one bad ass...
"Bring it on."

Lets get the story straight:
The Vampire games I am referring to are based off D&D, not necessarily the same people, and still, WoC does now own D&D. Copyright and all, check it, score for KAtG. That doesn't preclude the creators of the game from being former WoC employees. Now, to your source: There are D&D videogames. The EXACT SAME THING was done with these vampire games. The video games that I believe you are referring to are the same videogames that I finally drew a connection to (now evrything is in a full circle. Cool, huh?) Now allow me a few minutes to control my laughter... ... ...Okay, I'm done, no insult intended. Okay, we are all finally on the same page: Vampire: the Masquerade has both video game and traditional D&D style formats (I have played both, but forget the name of the actual RP game.) Casca, whom you apparrently are familiar with, was written mostly be Barry Sadler (his notes were collected and edited by his kids/grandkids, but it was still his material. Plus, I own and have read all 22 books.) The last part was my brain child (steal it, and I'll inflict real life suffering upon you.) Now, on to my character:
Name: George Arthur Bruce (Descended from Robert the Bruce of Scotland)
Age: 25
Appearance: 6'2". Build is muscular and proportioned. While tall, George is far from the walking stick that vampires are portrayed as: he is V-shaped, of Strong legs, and looks like a professional ball player with minimal steroid use. Think epic hero. He wears civilian clothes, but underneath is full body lightweight kevlar on loan from the Vatican (he is sworn to Poverty).
eyes: Hazel brand rainbow (brown to green to blue)
Hair: Depends, from Dark brown to almost Red (sun exposure plays a part) worn short.
Skin: Scottish-like (pale tan to deep tan)
Weapons: Two blades of Katana style, but slightly smaller and lighter, plus two modified Glock18a's, which carry mercury/copper cores. (the mercury is quicksilver, and the copper flattens, producing an electric charge that emits UV light) And he carries Holy Water washed cloth, which can burn alcohol of any type as UV emitting light, but without having the cloth consumed. If stelath is important, George uses a Cane sword (X-Ray proof) and the affore-mentioned holy-water-cloth, lighter, and alcohol combo. And he always carries a cross.
Transport: George is a registered pilot, but doesn't drive much. When forced, he does have a modified Mustang, but prefers to use a Leer jet belonging to the Order.
Association: in addition to a large number well placed informants, George is a Catholic deacon, Knight Templar, and a member of the Free and Accepted Masons. Special dispensation in all three institutions grant him this status.
Powers: Increased Reflexes (rivaling an elder vampire), Evil-Sense, allowing detection of danger, Night-Eye, Fire Resilience, Mind Resilience, & Specialized Regeneration.
Skills: Combat (melee and ranged), Pursuit, Language fluency (English, Latin, Gaelic, and Polish), Deduction, Faith, and Piety.
Note: George's blades are the two greatest weapons in Christendom: He reclaimed Excalibur, then used that to travel to Nicea, near Istanbul, and locate the blade of St. George the Dragon Slayer. By melting and mixing, and reforging the metals of the blades, George managed to fuse the power of ancient celtic magic with the sanctity of the Saint's sword. However, it changed George drastically, and began a series of "conversations" with a divine figure, but George is unable to determine the motives of this person. His regenration is only active when he sleeps, and to retain his powers, he must recieve the Holy Communion every week. Finally, he is hunted and hated. Killing him, though somewhat difficult due to his increased awareness and capabilities, is still accomlishable through normal means, and a large number of Vampires, Lycans, and Demons would all very much wish to see him dead.
The last part was my brain child (steal it, and I'll inflict real life suffering upon you.)
Just a note, threatening a person is generally not viewed well by the mods.
Also I think, but am not sure, that a cross is not useful against vampires that were not christian before conversion.
Just wanted to say - I don't play video games, never have and so havn't the faintest idea what you are talking about - I am a PNP/ talbe top gamer. The sit around and roll dice sort...and who owns what now or has turned what into a video game is of not much interest to me. but I'm not looking for an argument about it.
It is the backing with True Faith that makes a cross potent. the force/ energy emmission that is True Faith is what drives a vampire back - any Consecrated ( read 'charged')Holy Symbol presented with True Faith, by a believer of that faith, works - be it a Jew's Star of David, a Hindu's Lingham, a Wiccan's Pentacle
and he's acceptable. He actually sounds like a member of Cestus Dei...

Okay, I guess we were on the same page all along, but me in my inability to remeber names (true fact, ask anybody) I guess I was confused by your reference to Vampire: the Masquerade (which I recalled as a video game) and my own recollection. That point is irrelevant, since it now seems as though we were on the same page all along...
And I need the cross, for the simple fact that it acts as a channel through which I can direct my Faith (hence my use of it). Finally, Sorry about the threat, But I do intend to write a series of novels about the Order of the Cloak (in reference to the Cloak of Christ) so please don't go stealing.
See you in Kiss of Blood. Oh, and if anybody does have the power, My character also needs people to beat up on, albeit Kindred or other Evil creatures.

I'll have to tear myself away from Counter-Strike Source long enough to do so, so I understand your current plight with your bunk-mate.

Did you try kicking your computer in that 'special spot'?
Now I am losing my mind - I could swear I replied to you earlier MS, but none shows up.
Lol what I had said was what I really needed to do was over come the housemate's addiction to his three girl friends and their computers that break down at the drop of a hat. Not really. Everyone I talk to loves them. I just dunno, I don't like them. I mean, its not the whole polymer thing or anything, I'm just not a fan. Personal prefrence I guess. I'm a fan of Berettas, Sigs, about 80% of the 1911s out there, and thats mostly it. I also shot a CZ75 once, and thought it was pretty tasty.

I've always preferred the 1911, the Browning Hi-Power, and the CZ75. Then again, those are what I cut my teeth on back in the day. The Beretta 92 models (minus the Vertec) and SIG's P22# series are modern favorites, though. The USP isn't a bad choice either, as the controls are very similar to the 1911.
I've never fired a Hi Power, but I held one and it seemed small as shit in my hands.

Glocks are fully automatic, and I do like the feel, so I gave George them, with a hybrid of ammo that is useful for both Werwolves and Vampires (think the UV bullets and Quicksilver bullets from Underworld all rolled into one). Also, I AM descended from Robert the Bruce (Celtic Peoples forever) and so it looks as though we are distantly related, Imitora.

BTW, George is himself superpowered, hence his rather hard capacity to kill. And he's not completely mad, he just has conversations with some person of divine nature ever since he forged his baldes. And no, George is not entirely low key, but he does know how to keep a low profile (example: handing over the stupid college kid without incident). He is fast, very fast, hence why Davos would be far from able to dispatch him with barely a thought. Thought you all should know.

OOC: The model 18 is fully automatic, the other thirty-odd models are semi-auto only, unless they came out with a .40 caliber variation recently.
As for Imitora, I bought the 'Practical' version of the Hi-Power, which has pachymar grips instead of the skinny-assed teak ones that come standard on the Belgian models. The pachymar doesn't help much to thicken them out, but Hogue might make a set of grips for them. I don't fire mine much for that exact reason. I had access to a T33 Tokarev, but I hate Russian guns (With the exception of the AK and that damn Makarov, mind you). The T33 was also poorly designed and awkward as Hell to hold in your hand.

OOC: I forgot about the SKS and the Nagant, which are both halfway decent guns. The SKS is the AR-15 of the Russian guns, a civilianized AK-47 in most respects. The Skorpion, that damn drum-fed sub-machine-gun (PPKS?) and the RPD are not particular favorites of mine. The Dragonov SVD is an in-between, I don't really know if I like it or not. The cartridge is powerful, however (7.62x54mm). I've always prefered bolt-action rifles for long-distance work, semi-autos really don't have a place in the long-range function. If you didn't hit it the first time, a twitchy double-tap would miss too.
As for the SKS, make sure you get one that has had the packing grease completely cleaned out of it, and is of Russian, Polish, or Yugoslovian manufacture. Any of those old Eastern-Bloc countries are good manufactuers. The Chinese tend to put those damn folding bayonets on their weapons (bad idea if you have kids running around), and are typically military surplus that's been beat to Hell and scrapped in favor of the AK-47.
Have you looked on GunBroker? They usually have them for pretty cheap.

OOC: You can check the website (www.glock.com) and look there. There are, however, select-fire kits avaliable for Glocks of all calibers, as well as carbine kits that replace the slide in favor of an longer barrel and buttstock, retaining the frame as the 'pistol-grip' feature and magazine housing. You might also want to replace the standard plastic guide rods in the pistols with steel ones, which will last longer and also provide some additional weight to balance the weapons. Heavier barrels would also be an excellent idea, preferably match-grade models, which will overheat slower and again make firing a fully-automatic pistol one-handed with some degree of accuracy more feasible.
If you do go the select-fire route, I'd also add a buttstock to each pistol to aide in fire-control. Mako Security/FAB Defense manufactures a nice version avaliable here (www.makosecuirty.com).

Ooohhh. Top speed. Mind you, George reacts, and thinks and moves fast enough to be a decent match for any Vampire swordsman, but top speed? Let me get back to you on that. Once I figure out the top speed of Davos.
My understanding is that Vampires are limited in abilities such as speed are effectively limited mostly by their enviroment, following that age and generation takes effect. Davos, in practice, is a third generation Vampire, but in theory he could be counted as a second generation Kindred, through diablerie and such as was his ORIGINAL story as played by me (I've used him for countless vamp RPs, I lost alot of my original story info for him though when my comp crashed).
Hell, the first time he ever came up in an RP I was in, he was an NPC, and a true second generation Kindred, the actual progenitor of the Lasombra bloodline, with no one knowing his exact age, only that he was present for the Cruxifiction, and at that time he was easily around five or six hundred years old. We had to have him as a PC in a seperate RP later on, so I took him, missing out on all the hunting and killing fun, but got to play plenty of politics. I've kind of kept him as my own since then. I chose to not use this specific Davos in any RPs on here, or really anywhere, that are not strictly politics, becuase hell, with his age, strength, and generation, he would simply rip George, or any of his opponents for that matter, to shreads.
So, to answer your question...hella fast.
King Arthur the Great
17-05-2006, 22:14
Okay, let's get this straight. George is not without speed. I will disregard any further comments made denouncing his abilities and stating that he could be ripped to shreds in seconds, as mere boasts of a person that doesn't really care about the game itself. Yes, George can be killed, but he is a servant of God, whose prupose shall soon be revealed, and thus not nearly as easy to kill as other humans. He does not have certain vampiric abilities, bu he does not have any vampiric weakness. George uses more than his body, he also uses his mind, and if his is the choosing of playing fields, than victory would be George's, but if not, then the Vampire would win. Imitora, if you want to keep ripping on George and talking about killing him without effort, fine, but remember that real gamers game, and I put my money where my mouth is, instead of worthless comparisons and acts of boasting about their awesome characters.
Shit bro, calm down. Just a bit of shit talking, everyone does it, adds a bit of excitement to the mix. Let it go man, its nothing personal, god damn. Just take a breath, count to five, and have some fun.
Gentlemen both of you stop this. Both of you have good points and weakness in your characters. that is the way it should be. Neither of your characters are weakling, or stupid, or insignificant. Both of you are valuable. and both of you are boasting...gives you both a long and level look ( hey I'm over 50 I can glare at you young whippersnappers all I want and I'm the GM too boot...)
First off the characters that are vampires- are created under V tM / white wolf Storyteller system. they have point costs and such to them, this is not just fabricated out of whole cloth...
Look at this page for a bit on vampires of Davo's age and level - and becasue of Davos's age and generation he has more than the starting number of abilities, and more than the starting number of levels within the disciplines.
The Methuselahs (http://www.white-wolf.com/Games/Pages/VampireRevQuickStart/html/v3qs_p8.html)
and there is this about Celerity:
Vampires with Celerity are dangerous foes, for this Discipline enables them to move and attack at superhuman speeds. A character with activated Basic Celerity always gains initiative (the first move) over a character without such enhancement. Likewise, a character with activated Advanced Celerity always gains initiative over a character without Advanced Celerity. (The only exception is a character using the Gangrel Advantage Hunter's Prowess; such a character gains initiative over everyone else.) If two characters have the same level of Celerity, defer to the normal initiative process (see "Initiative," below).
Basic
____-The vampire's movement rate doubles. Additionally, she gains an extra action per turn.
Advanced
____-The vampire's movement rate triples, and she gains two additional actions per turn.
and this might be applicable to Davos as well..
Fortitude
____Vampires with Fortitude prove unnaturally resistant to damage. They must often be literally hacked apart, like the walking corpses they are. Fortitude is always on (no Blood Levels need be spent to use it).
Basic
____-The vampire has +1 die for soak rolls, +1 Health Level (an extra "Light" level) and may soak fire, sunlight and other aggravated-damage attacks.
Advanced
____-The vampire has +2 dice for soak rolls, +2 Health Levels (both "Light") and may soak damage from fire, sunlight and other aggravated attacks. Additionally, potential damage from long-term exposure to fire and sunlight is halved (i.e., the vampire only tallies damage from direct sunlight every other turn, from indirect sunlight every four turns, etc.).
and this as well
Potence
____Vampires with Potence are terrifying opponents, for they possess the strength of several humans. Potence is always on (no Blood Levels need be spent). When resolving any feat of strength (arm-wrestling, tug-of-war, etc.), a character with Basic Potence always beats a character without Potence. Likewise, a character with Advanced Potence always beats any character without a similar level of Potence. Two vampires with the same level of Potence resolve such Physical rolls normally.
Basic
____-The vampire inflicts +2 damage in hand-to-hand combat, and he may lift approximately 1000 pounds.
Advanced
____-The vampire inflicts +3 damage in hand-to-hand combat, and he may lift approximately one ton.
Just as George is more than a tryol so is Davos, and to dismiss him out of hand is highly fool hardy. To pooh pooh his abilities can be fatal to a character
and rarher insultng to his characters.
Both of you would have a hard fight but honestly given what Davos is, I think he would take George down, but as I said NOT with any ease and certainly NOT without severe damage.
However that said both of you are going to be necessary to fight the real 'Big Bad' and he can whoop ass on both of you.
So save it for the real enemy!
Isn't a 1000 pounds a ton?
You sure, or am I thinking 1000 kg = ton?
2.2 pounds is a kg - so a 1000 kg is 2,200 pounds, thats a metric tonne
I think?
Ah, Metric, possibly. In the English system, 2000lbs=ton.
Darn metric and imperial(british and american). Why can't the world come to one easy unified style. Metric for weight, imperial for height, metric for distance.
Darn metric and imperial(british and american). Why can't the world come to one easy unified style. Metric for weight, imperial for height, metric for distance.
Kinda agree. I'd rather have Imperial for distance, and a mixed system for wieght (like everything except people in metric), metric for motors (I hate doing liters to cubic inches...ugh), and imperial for small distances (i.e. wrench sizes, exhaust piping sizes, stuff like that, LOL)...its funny how to me, it all applies to cars.

The metric Ton is defined as the mass of a cubic meter of water (unit density=1 gram/cubid centimeter) Since everything is in cubic units, the mass of a cubic meter is is 100 raised to the third power, or 1 million grams/1,000 kilograms. Remember too that the metric system measures mass on a balance scale, which is constant everywhere in the universe. Weight is measured by both. To convert, on Earth, then use 2.2 lbs. for every kilogram (rough estimate, actual value is a very close repeating decimal that gives everybody headaches) but remember that weight, hence pounds, changes in different gravitational fields. Weight is a measure of force (gravity, in this case) mass is a measure of matter. The metric measure of force is the Newton, for Sir Isaac, and on Earth one Newton is the measure of the force of gravity on an object with one kilogram of mass. (Whew!)
Aaaaak, hold out a the sign of the anti physicist and wards KA off...back foul physcist, away wth you.
Give me pounds and ounces, cups and teaspoons, miles, feet, inches and acres
Brownies never come out right unless done the american way...:p
Motors are easier to understand in liters though. And calibers as well, although I can do just about all the conversions for those in my head. Else wise, I don't care, as long as the 1320 is still a quarter mile.
you mean as long as it's still 2 furlongs. And a hand is 4 inches - my Belgain mare Winnie was nearly 17 hands and weighed in at a ton. When she moved you could feet the earth tremble. And when she was at a hand gallop coming right at you you understood very up close and personal what your average medieval footsoldier felt when a mounted knight bore down on his scrawny little ass...
She was the least scariest horse I have ever ridden sidesaddle - she was so wide and smooth gaited that we called her the 'rolling barcalounger'

You know, America was one of the first countries to adopt the metric system. It has been the official systme of measurements ever since Congress set up the Patent Office way back in the early 1790s. Our way of sticking it to King George III. As to fl. oz., works the same way as liters do. One ounce of water occupies one fluid ounce, one pound occupies one quart, and one gallon weighs for pounds. conversions: 66.8 fl. oz. = 1 liter.
(Laughs at attempts to banish the physicist, as bad grammar nullifys any attempt to do so. Holds up E=mc2 and walks forward, unconquerable. Ahh, the power wielded by high school AP Science students.)
Might have adopted it, but you yanks are the only major country that does not use it as your predominant system of measurement. Also congress didn't authorize it's usage till 1866.
I banish physics in the name of Archimedes, Bell, Bernoulli, Curie, Descartes, Doppler, Dyson, Einstein, Fahrenheit, Franklin, Galileo, Gauss, Heisenburg, Hertz, Joule, Kepler, Mach, Marconi, Von Neuman, Newton, Ohm, Oppenheimer, Pascel, Planck, and Schrödinger's cat.

(Laughs at the summoning of the gods of physics. Only adds to the strenght of the scientist.)
Oh and by the way, is anybody here even close to me in age (ten years older, doubt that anybody here is younger than me.) I'm 17.
(I turn physic upon it self, ensuring it's destruction)
And two years older.

Physcs can't turn upon itself to destroy itself. The last time physics turned upon itself, Einstein proposed the theory of relativity. The result was an entirely new set of physical laws for subatomic and high velocity forces. (Quantum, as opposed to classical, mechanics.) Turn physics upon itself, and the next thing you have is hyperspace star ships and time travel devices.
Precisely, then I can go back and bump off all the annoying physicists before they can develop all they're infernal theorums.
And watch who you call a Yank!
I'm a Texan and proud of it. Unfortuantely I wasn't around to stop the Republic from making the Big Mistake, twice.
and I'll take Schroedinger's Cat for $200...(gads that was a Jeopardy moment )
I think I shouldn't be listing to Billy Joel's We Didn't Start the Fire while reading ( rereading actually ) the Illuminati Trilogy by Shea & Wilson...between the two one finds one's head in very wierd places. And no I do not want to get into a discussion of the utter wierdness that is Shea, or the even stranger Robert Anton Wilson -Some people thing he is the second coming of Aleister Crowley -and they may be right...
Turn physics upon itself, and the next thing you have is hyperspace star ships and time travel devices.
and those I could live with!

Bump off the scientists, and somebody else (like me) will come along and do it all over again. That's biology, history, chemistry, and physics all over again. Course, disrupt the time-space continuum, and you could very well knock yourself out of existence, Theao. Be careful what you wish for.

BTW, George is now asleep until dawn, so don't expect any posts from me for a while. (Convenient way of seeing how everything else will pan out while I am busy studying for finals. sigh)
Best of luck on your finals.

Thanks. I'll need it. (Curses the name of Stewie, demon fromt the ninth pit of hell, sent to fill the minds of students with lies and deceipt. Goes forth to battle the minions of this evil creature with knowledge of the history of the U.S., which is far more in depth than Stewie could imagine.) History final will suck, since I know more about history than my teacher (half the class thinks I should have taught them history) and thus I will probably get questions that have answers so ambiguous any attempt at answering them will result in my downfall. Woe is Arthur. Looking forward to A.P. Chem. Take this oppurtunity to bring everybody up to a uniform time frame, as I would rather come back with George close to everybody else time wise.
and I think every one ought to watch this. Impressive...

Very impressive. Have they tried trains on the barriers?
