Kyronea

The leading anchor of the Kyronean Broadcasting Channel news, Rachael Loren, let out a huge sigh of irritation. She did not want to be the one to tell the world about the current situation in Kyronea, but she had no choice: it was her job, after all.
"Rach!" The lead camera man poked his head into her office. "We're live in five minutes. Hurry up."
"Yeah, Josh, I'm comin'..."
Sighing once more, she stood and strode into the news room, taking a seat next to her co-anchor, Lorenzo Vallachini. As someone came in to touch up her make-up real quick, he asked her, "Rach, you okay?"
She nodded, glancing at him out of the corner of her eye, muttering "Uh-huh."
Lorenzo stared at her, concern seeping out of his brown puppy-dog eyes. He knew what was bothering her, of course, as it bothered him as well. Yet, he knew she would be fine once the camera rolled. "Okay," he said, turning to face the camera and composing himself.
The time till broadcast passed swiftly. As the introductory music to the news broadcast started and their faces appeared on camera, a smile broke on Rachael's face. "Good evening, Kyronea," she said. "We have several stories for you tonight, but first: tensions in the western province of Agratheria are mounting. More and more riots are occurring everyday, and it is starting to appear as though the provincial government is agreeing with its populace. We may soon have a civil war on our hands. Governor Jesse Walters had this to say:"
She broke off as the telecast switched to a recording of a meeting in the capital of Agratheria, Jyal City. "The people of Agratheria have become increasingly fed up with the policies of this nation's government, and I am starting to agree with them. Our government has become corrupt, and rather than stand for it, we may decide to form our own nation. I can only hope that, if it comes to this, President Wilson will ensure that it goes smoothly."
Rachael resumed, "President Wilson was unavailable for comment, though her advisors did say that she would not tolorate a rebellion. With two-thirds of the nation's military technological production centered in Agratheria, this could become quite a situation. Now here's Jake Muncy with the weather."
The instant the online light of the camera winked out, Rachael let her head drop to her desk. She desperately hoped that no one would decide that killing the messanger of this grave news would be a good course of action. But, she thought, it would be as it would be. I can't do a damned thing about it.
