The Earthsea Islands Minister For war stated today that the Imperial Army of Earthsea Islands had successfully tested a high yield thermo-nuclear device on one of the outlying islands. Most of the island was vapourised and the blast effects were felt at a range of 100 miles away. The radiation effects are currently being studied. All civilian ship and aircraft are not to enter the 500 miles green zone. Neutron bomb testing shall be carried out next month. We are looking for volunteers to test our new methods of destruction.

The army is now developing its own cruise missile systems to deliver these new defensive weapons. We are also interesting the capeabilities of germ and chemical warfare and shall be carrying out our own trials on volunteers.

The Democratic Republic of Kyronea released the following statement on this development:

Nuclear weapons are dangerous, as is obvious. As such, nations possessing them become dangerous in and of themselves. In the hopes of preserving international peace and avoiding any bad decisions on the part of the Earthsea Islands, we extend an olive branch to the Earthsea Islands. We also wish to aid you in developing nuclear power generation technology, as such technology is an incredible boon to any nation. We look forward to creating strong relations with the Earthsea Islands.
