ARAB BROADCASTING CORPORATION NEWS REPORT
It is a black day for Es Sina as Al Khemri mourns the death of His Highness, long-serving Emir, Ibrihim Khartoum. He died last night in Bazayad Palace in his sleep of a cardiac arrest. Many in his court were content with the belief that he died of natural causes, however a forensic investigation led by his brother, Asmar, revealed that he had been poisoned – arsenic was discovered in his stomach cavity, although the evidence does not point to the vice of any individual. A full televised state-funeral will take place next Thursday. The next man to take the throne looks set to be Ibrihim’s first son, Mohammed, age 32. The coronation is set to take place later this month. The Emir is survived by three wives, six sons, eight daughters, seven grand-sons, nine grand-daughters and one great grand-daughter. He was 76 years old.
