I think your scorinator is great because its the most stat based scorinator for the most stat based game baseball. But that's not really about the olympics and should be discussed somewhere else. Although I do agree that you might need to simplify the rosters a bit it shouldn't be too hard.
It is nice that the current scorinator is very stat based. The problem is that it isn't actually any more reallistic than any other decent scorinator. Here's an example: Did you know that, in the NSWCB, strategically you should rate 5th batter higher than than your 4th? Obviously this is entirely untrue in real baseball. I'm not thinking about changing the scorination method in the middle of the tournament; that wouldn't be fair. But, right now, scorinating games is just taking so much time that I can't write good RPs that contribute to the thread like I did in the first tournament. I need something that can scorinate an entire cup all at one time. (I obviously wouldn't post all the scores immediately. I'd just save them on my computer and post them on a regular schedule.) Anyway, I think we could actually get a scorinator that is more stat based. It would be possible to get one that actually simulates the outcome of each individual at bat. It would probably take longer to execute that program, but the most important thing is getting a program that could scorinate the entire cup all at one time. Even if it took 6 hours to run, I could just execute it before I go to sleep and wake up with the entire tournament scorinated. That would be the ideal solution. The problem is that I would need to learn a pc compatible language (because obviously a program of that magnitude would be way too much for a TI.) Also, it would take alot of effort to write that sort of program even if I were entirely fluent in a pc compatible language. It would be worth it though. Anyway, I would really like to know what all of you guys think. What do you want out of an NS World Cup of Baseball scorinator?
