Hello,

My region, the International Democratic Union, is going to host an IDU Cheese Festival in the middle of Feb. 2006. The festival will include a sampling of cheeses and cheese related products from both the IDU and nations that *import* cheese and cheese related products to IDU nations.

I'd like to invite your nations to either submit entries for the "Best Cheese Imported to the IDU" category or to judge the entries that are submitted. It should be relatively easy. The added bonus of writing up an entry ... once you are done, you'll have a NSWiki agricultural / cultural entry that you can add to your nation's articles. And you'll get to meet some other NationStates nations.



The deadline for entries to the First Annual IDU Cheese Festival is Sunday Feb. 12, 2006 (2nd Full Moon of the Lunar Calendar)

IDU members and IDU importers may also enter the “Best Cheese Related Product” (hint hint). Tomorrow night, I’ll try and encourage some other entries from the IDU and other regions, but please invite others to enter as well!

Even if you don't want to enter, please make a point to stop by after Feb. 12 to vote on the cheeses! :)


p.s. I've sent some previous invites to regions that tend to interact with the IDU, but this would be a great chance for other nations / regions to establish a trade relationship with the IDU. Eventually I'll help nations wikify their cheese entries, which can help to define your cuisine / ag industries.

If you see a cheese you like (from the IDU or any other nation), please feel free to talk to its manufacture (the nation who submitted it) and let them know that your nation would like to import that cheese. (FYI: We'll be adding lists of exporting and importing nations to many of the cheese NSWiki entries in order to recognize international trade. I know, why cheese ... why not, I wanted just try something different.)

The festival voting will end on Feb. 20, 2006.

So far attendance has been modest (largely regional with a few visitors).

The festival is open to anybody, so if you're curious please stop by. :) If you really like one of the text entries, please also reply and ask for that nation's product to be exported to your nation (that means we'll add a NSWiki link listing your nation as an importer of the product ... it might also open the door to a other trades).
