Defeat Invaders in exhibition tilt.

Report by: Stephen O'Malley
PFT News, Locke Harbour

The Dragons are back. Sporting a new attitude with their International Rugby League (IRL) championship, the Locke Harbour Dragons wasted no time in proving that they would be back with a vengeance this year after their 27-7 victory over the Athens Invaders at Champions Heaven Stadium last night.

There should be something rugby specific, especially with the amount of news articles I plan on putting out for this the next two months or so. That thread is for all sports generally hence why the last post in it is in September 2005 and it was not used much prior to that.

Most sports fans are not going to feel like wafting through numerous sports just to get at rugby news. That said appreciate the information for other sports I run. :)

THE USSD NATIONAL NEWS

Earlier today, three Dugan rugby clubs annonced that they will be competing to be in the international Rugby World Cup. The clubs were the Dugan City Terrapins, the Hendrixtowne Serpents, and the Trotsytowne Bolsheviks. Dugan City head coach Dan Miilak answered a few questions in an interview with U.S.S.D.'s own Jeorg Miikelson following the annoncement.

Jeorg Miikelson: Do you think your team can compete on an international leverl with the best rugby clubs in the world?

Dan Miilak: Yes, yes, I do. Dugan has always had great rugby players, and our team had a great year this year, winning the USSDR title over Trotskytowne and we've got some great players like D'shwellton Mykambre and Yason Remonee.

JM:How do you think you will represent Dugan in the competition when you qualify?

DM:We WILL qualify and will show the world what a great rugby country U.S.S.D. is.

JM: Thank you, one last question. What do you have to say about Hendrixtowne and Trotskytowne applying to qualify for the games?

DM: Trotsytowne is a great...they're both great teams and I hope they both qualify.

NEW INTERNATIONAL RUGBY LEAGUE ANNOUNCED (http://www.geocities.com/PopularFreedomTicker/2006-02-07-001.html).
Will include towns not currently apart of the PopularFreedom Rugby League.

Report by: Judeson Cartley
PFT News, Camelot

The rumours are true. For months now there have been rumours that the town of Camelot, despite their recent failure at getting a rugby franchise in the national league, has been on the verge of getting together other areas of the nation to get a rugby league of their own up and running. Yesterday that plan was finally advanced into reality.

DRAGONS DEFEAT MAGNA CARTA IN EXHIBITION RUGBY.
Drop kicks gets the job done.

Report by: Stephen O'Malley
PFT News, Magna Carta

Coach Keith Wright of the Locke Harbour Dragons had promised more diversity in the Dragons attack, and he was able to at least partially deliver on that yesterday in Magna Carta as the Dragons completely dominated the Crusaders on the way to their second win of the exhibition season, 16-0

DRAGONS SHOCKED BY IMPERIALISTS.
Imperialist defense basically perfect.

Report by: Stephen O'Malley
PFT News, Viscount Bennett

Coach Keith Wright finally got his wish. After the second game where his dropkickers were 3 for 21, this game they were 4 for 5, unfortunately however that was all the scoring they got in a 17-12 humiliation at the hands of the Viscount Bennett Imperialists.

DRAGONS WIN BATTLE OF LOCKE HARBOUR.
Dragons defeat Blues in nightmarish defensive affair.

Report by: Stephen O'Malley
PFT News, Locke Harbour North

The battle of Locke Harbour was a comedy of errors where the Dragons somehow came out on top at the end of one of the most bizarre matches in recent memory. On an overcast day, with no precipitation, both teams managed to drop the ball or knock it on with virtually every other chance they had to handle it.

PRL RUGBY: DRAGONS SHOCK PIRATES.
Locke Harbour thumps previously unbeaten Pearson Cliffs in PRL rugby yesterday.

Report by: Stephen O’Malley
PFT News, Locke Harbour

The Dragons finally showed the nation why they were so successful in the International Rugby League late last year.
After starting the season poorly with a record of 2 wins and 3 losses, the Dragons seemed to finally get it together against the previously unbeaten Pearson Cliffs Pirates at home at Champions Heaven Stadium yesterday.

These aren't International Domestic Rugby Newswires, these are only yours.

I know, I was hoping that others would add to this but I guess the rugby fans on NS are not journalists or they have other ways of publicizing their scores. Hence why I have not used this thread in a while despite my leagues continuing.

PS: I just realized you posted this back in March, lol. Back then I was posting in February and well no one had posted, figured I would post one more in March to see if I could possibly generate interest and well never did check back till now. Needless to say I doubt I will use it since no one else uses it which is too bad since rugby is a better sport than soccer IMO (hmm wonder if anyone will rip me for this opinion). :P Oh well.

what are you using to generate rugby results?
I use excel for games between my nations and others. Stuff from the PRL (PopularFreedom Rugby League) is a league in my own nation however though I still use excel to make it interesting. :)

PS: If you want the actual code feel free to ask. It basically is using IF statements and then entering two numbers, whichever is randomly higher/lower wins and gets random 7,5, or 3 points. There are other variables just depending on what someone else may wish to have however again those are specifics which if you really want to know you will need to be more specific. :) It is quite an easy formula to use and is as effective and fair as just about anything else out there currently so if you require the code feel free to ask, glad to help if you are running your own tourney. :)
